Personality: Independent/Ambitious: While not one to desire standing out physically, she has a large personality and mental capacity. She looks at the big picture, has a big imagination, and sees that there is a world much beyond her hometown. She loves to learn, tell stories, and invent, and is always focused on growing herself as an individual. She is persistent and hardworking, always striving for whatever goal she has in mind.
Adventurous/Restless: Yokka has had a wandering spirit since she started crawling. She is always using her imagination to think up what amazing things she might find outside of home, and is always trying something new. As such, she is not the most organized of individuals. With her mind always going ahead, it’s difficult for her to keep the present as tidy as others might wish her to.
Changing: Like the ocean she loves, Yokka’s mood can change in an instant. While at work, she can be focused and intent on her goals for the day. She is eager to show her peers that she is hard working and can do the job as well as anyone. Given the chance, she will turn into a laid-back wanderer, her mind slipping off to other worlds. At first discussing a problem calmly, there is every chance that she will turn into a firecracker at just the wrong words. Drowning in sadness, a single image might dry her tears. This can be both endearing and irritating to those around her.

Starting History:
Her father is a Geian who works in the sector of agriculture. Her step-mother is a Lightning who works in the sector of transportation. Her birthmother was Geian who worked alongside her spouse, but died while Yokka was only one year old. Her father remarried, and it is the combined influence of agriculture and transportation that has encouraged Yokka’s passion for the sea. Being the youngest after her four siblings, she was given a little more leeway to dream away her time while the siblings got focused on, especially with the focus her father gives her brother.

Yokka was not sure how she had ended up on this particular errand, but there she was. The Misty Maiden had stopped at one of the southern ports of Belrea and was refreshing supplies. She had already gotten her needs for ship maintenance met, and had been volunteered to help get food. She sat in the back of the wagon with her arms crossed and a wide hat pulled over her eyes. Maybe if she was quiet they would forget she was there…
“Girl, all you do is work on the ship. You don’t even let yourself have fuuuun with the boys. Don’t you get tired of it all? Let yourself go a little!”
It looked like she wouldn’t be forgotten. She sighed slowly before shaking her head. “I don’t need sex in order to have fun, you creep.” Yokka looked out from under the brim of her hat to her travel companion. A fellow Geian woman named Olieta with curves that she was very proud of and happily shared with others. Meanwhile, Yokka was much more subtle in both her curves and her affections with them for others. “You have your fun and I have mine. I have fun working on the ship.”
Olieta grinned and stretched her arms over her head. “Don’t you worry, Yokka. We’ll find a nice place while we’re in town. Show you what you’re missing.”
Yokka groaned and pulled her hat back down. “Did you ever stop to think that I’m not actually missing anything? That I might be waiting for more than just a romp?”
Olieta gasped sharply, her face locked with shock. “You mean… are you telling me you’re saving yourself? That is the sweetest thing!” She leaned forward playfully. “You know.. They’ll probably appreciate it if you know what you’re doing, too~”
Yokka’s face burned under the hat. “You’re such a creep.” Living on a ship provided little personal space and even less privacy. Of all the things she had expected to encounter on her grand sailing adventure… a prying hen was not one of them!

Rogue - Growth Quest Solo Artisan
Standing up in the crow’s nest of the Misty Maiden, Yokka was on top of the world. Even though she was out in the open sea, it continued to stretch off beyond where her sight could reach. The edge of the ocean was always just out of reach, never getting closer no matter how many hours they sailed. Could it even be reached? Others might see it as an endless, depressingly unattainable tease, but Yokka just stayed excited. There was so much potential in that faint line. It didn’t seem like there was much progress being made, but they were definitely moving forward. Always moving forward. Was the ocean vanishing into the sky, or was the sky vanishing into the ocean? If she hadn’t known any better, she might have believed that both the sky and the ocean were being created at the same time while she sailed toward the end.
It felt like ages since she had first set her sights on traversing the ocean. She could remember being just a little thing when she had gone to the beach with her family and had instantly fallen in love with the crashing waves and salty smell. Numerous visits to the beaches and lakes of Belrea were all she had for years to keep her hopes alive. Now here she was, living on the waves that she had coveted for years. The waves that others had tried to lead her away from on so many occasions. If it hadn’t been for her precious step-mother, she might not be where she was today!
Well, her step-mother among others. Her eldest sister, Mjor, had always been supportive of her dream as well. Her father and her sister Willa had at least shown support when they realized she was actually following through with her plans to leave home. She couldn’t help wondering what her birth mother would have thought… She had been so young when her mother had passed though, and had no idea how the woman would have reacted. She liked to think she would have gotten the encouragement she had yearned for.
Then there were the friends she had made along the way. Fellows at the shipyards that she had learned her trade alongside. Shipmates on the Misty Maiden. Friends like Ephrym, the captain of the ship who had taken a chance on her when she’d still been new on the scene. Friends like Emiyn giving her support that she could count on.. Yokka had never exactly been a solo runner, but she had never gotten so close to anyone as she had with those two outside of her family. Her life truly was meant to be on the water! Hard work brought her closer to her dreams, and the people around her had become a vital part of those dreams. The sea had always been her goal, but the family she was making along the way were what made it possible.
Grinning brightly, she reached her hand out toward the horizon and closed her eyes. All of her hard work had paid off. With the wind on her face and a sturdy ship under her feet, and a few good friends at her side, her future was surely unstoppable!

Conclusion: Yokka’s dreams of working on ships have come true! She is finally on her first venture as part of a ship’s crew and has grown a boon of self-confidence because of it. She has a newfound and refreshed hope for her chosen path, encouraged by the progress she has made so far.
