Yokka had been sent with one of her sisters into town. After the incident at the academy, her parents were absolutely adamant that no one traveled alone anymore. It had been fine until her sister had seen a group of other Geians her age and scooted off to hang out. Yokka had no interest in "hanging out" and was now walking the street on her own to pass the time. After all, she would never hear the end of it if she went home without her sister.

...Siblings were overrated.

Yokka wanted to find a store to spend time in, but couldn't help being curious about the girl she saw on a wagon. "That is a weapon, right?" she asked without preamble, approaching in her curious manner.

Yokka cocked her head. She had never used an actual weapon before. Was this what the boy she had met wanted to use? No, not quite... "You gave it a name?" she asked, quite confused now. "Oh, uh, I'm Yokka. ...Why name it Retort?" She glanced at the critter poking its head out, but most of her attention remained on the weapon.

Yokka blinked a couple times, letting the other's question sink in. It took a moment, but she soon enough started giggling. "I do see that," she mused. "I bet someone would be surprised if you told them to listen to your retort and got that thrown in their face." Brow rising, Yokka cocked her head again. "Do you get in many fights then? I'd hate to think that you gave it such a fun name for only one or two uses. ..Though I also don't wish you to be in a lot of fights that need a blunderbuss either."

"I wouldn't be pressing any point with that aimed at me," she mused. "Not unless it was a very important point." Yokka had never given much thought to fighting, or how she would hold up her end of a tussle. Maybe it was time to start?

Snorting sharply, Yokka rolled her eyes. "I came to town with my sister to do something for our parents, but then she saw some friends and hopped off to hang out with them. I think her friends are kinda stupid, so I was just looking for something top pass the time until I can make her go back home with me."

After a moment of thought, Yokka nodded and hopped onto the wagon. "Yeah. I would usually come on my own to town, but now..." Brow knitting slightly, the gaze of her uncovered eye slid over to Talria. "We were all at the academy when the.. thing came.. and kidnapped that girl. ..It scared them a lot. Were you there?"

Yokka nodded with quiet understanding. It would be crazy for anyone to not be a little bit frightened of what had happened. An only child! "So they have that much more attention to spare for watching you," she mused, shaking her head. "I can't even imagine what that's like; not having any siblings, I mean. That's why I was sent with my sister. Too many siblings for my parents to go everywhere with all of us."

Lips pursing, she gave Talria a nudge. "Since there are so many people watching you, you wanna take a walk? Find something to do? My sister's still going to be a while yet."

Pleased to see Talria open to the idea, Yokka hopped down as well. She was only a couple inches taller than the other girl... it must be the hair that made her look taller. "I didn't have any destination in mind. Perhaps just around the perimeter of the market then?"
