The storm had hit with such an intensity that Ephrym lost complete awareness of his surroundings. The man had moved to block Emiyn from getting hit and the next thing he knew his body was tossed into the icy cold waves, their momentum pulling him further and further away from the ship until his body collided with a bunch of rocks and everything went black. It had been a day or so and while everything continued to fade in and out of existence the man vaguely remembered crawling onto shore and trying to find some sort of nourishment, some water that had collected on the large leaves hanging from the strange trees decorating the shoreline and raw meat from the clams that had been washed ashore after the storm. He had ripped his tunic and tied pieces together along his injuries, the gash along his arm being the most worrisome, but then eventually his energy had worn out and Ephrym had once again passed out beneath the shade of a large tree further inland where the storm had washed up him the inner basin of the island. Everything hurt and he just wanted to rest some more, that was all.

Emiyn was a bundle of nervous energy. He was thankful that he had found Yokka and now that she was more settled, the pair of them eating the rations and drinking the water he had brought along, the summoner was ready to venture further into the island to try and find their captain. “We should have a good few hours now that it’s morning again.” He commented as he surveyed their path, the swaying reeds transitioning into more forested areas the further they went along.
Still, he was ever vigilant and Emiyn found himself turning back towards Yokka just to check on her. “How are you holding up?” He asked before finally stopping once more to try and get some sense of their position.

She was tempted to bring the body back home, but Miovadi knew that no kind of earthling would be welcome there. The sisters and cousins would lose their heads if she dared! The male was pretty beat up though. Clearly, a victim of the recent storm. She had only found him because she was skimming around for whatever had washed up from that very storm. She hadn’t thought for a moment that she would find an earthling! While she couldn’t take him home, she certainly couldn’t leave him to die. Surely someone was going to come looking for him. Right?
Her first task would be cleaning and mending. After hurrying back home for a few basic wraps and ointments among other things, she returned and cleaned out the wounds. With a little magic, she was able to mend the lighter wounds and reduce the worst ones.
Now the Elarian sat to the side with a small fire, cyan eyes watching the earthling curiously while she chewed on a reed. He looked like a baby in the blanket cocoon she had made him!

Yokka sighed softly, her eyes scanning over the foreign land with growing trepidation. She’d had the chance to rest and regain her bearings, so there was no reason for any delay. The aches would linger for a while and her head would throb if she moved too fast, but she was well enough to begin her turn in the search. Yet, nothing was familiar here. It was surprisingly intimidating… but maybe she could blame the fear on the bump to her head?
Emiyn.. Where would she be if he had given up like the others? She completely understood them needing to put the surviving crew first, but still… “I’m holding,” she replied with a wane smile. “I was hoping he’d show up close to where I was, but he must have gone over further along. Pretty sure he was still on the ship when I-” Still embarrassed, she snorted quietly and left the sentence hanging.

At first Ephrym thought his body was simply too weak to move, but then as he regained more of his senses the man realized he was actually tightly wrapped in a blanket. "Hmm?" He murmured before blinking a few more times and realizing that there was also a crackling fire next to him with a figure sitting there. "Am I supposed to be trapped here?"" His voice called out with some amusement, another part genuine concern. This wasn't some sort of cocoon for murder or something right? Either way Ephrym couldn't help wincing as the brightness of the flames triggered his headache. Even if he was still in one piece his head definitely wasn't going easy on him today.

Emiyn's gaze softened as Yokka left the sentence to trail into silence. If Ephrym had been here he would have offered some joke or at least tried to be witty, but Emiyn simply reached over to place a hand on Yokka's shoulder instead. "No one could control what happened with nature that night." He mused with a small smile. "I'm surprised the winds didn't take me sailing back to Belrea." He was more petite so it was slight joke at his own stature while also refreshing the burdens hopefully on Yokka. No one should be blamed for any accidents, it was a miracle they had just survived and a blessing that they had managed to reunite (well mostly) without issues.
Suddenly though the breeze picked up and he swore he smelled a bit of smoke. "Is there a fire nearby?" Emiyn frowned thoughtfully as he glanced about, his gaze full of concern before he looked back towards Yokka. Should they investigate?

Mio noticed the subtle movement immediately, considering the guy hadn't moved since she'd started her vigil. She cocked her head at the question and shrugged. "I guess? Wanted to keep you warm." She crab walked the few steps to the earthlings side for a closer look. "I could let you out if you want? You're in pretty sorry shape though. Probably safer to stay there until you're sure you got all your senses back."

Yokka nodded, though remained unconvinced. Surely she should have done better. She knew she could have! The image of Emiyn's lean frame did manage to bring a smirk to Yokka's lips. Really, how had the mage not just flapped away with the breeze? "We need to get some meat on your bones," she murmured with amusement.
A fire? She raised her head to sniff the air, but she couldn't smell much of anything. "I think I'm still a little waterlogged," she huffed. She met his concerned gaze and nodded firmly. "It's our first sign of anything, so let's go see. If he's not there, maybe they'll know something."

"All my....senses?" Ephrym blinked with confusion and blinked a few times as if to clear his foggy vision. He had made a move to shake his head before realizing that was a horrible idea, the instant pain ringing in his ears obvious proof, and now he simply laid there with his gaze flickering between the fire, the strange Aishan and the sky. "Sooo...do you normally drag people out of the ocean? You seem fairly calm all things considering." He managed finally as he tried to catch up with exactly what had happened. There had been a horrible storm, he had fallen overboard and then vaguely he remembered dragging his body away from the tides and onto somewhat solid land before passing out and waking up here. The woman sitting before him had antenna so he assumed she was one of those Aishans that he had heard about, but Ephrym had never truly seen one before save for maybe a rare glimpse at the docks since they didn't often come to Belrea. She wasn't exactly what the others looked like either which was a mystery to him...they did have various races though, right? He knew of those by Belrea but had no idea that there were even Aishans in Kahi! They hadn't gotten that far off track...there was no way.
"So....Aishans live in Kahi too?" He found himself asking, hoping that since she had rescued him it meant she was a bit friendlier towards earthlings. Why else waste so much time dragging him out and even helping with his wounds? Unless they did like to play with their prey first? Ephrym certainly hoped that was not the case and that the blankets were actually a form of protection of sorts.

"I'm fine just holding onto a rope to keep from flying away." He was at least doing a lot better now that he was with the crew and not starving in the streets back in Belrea. Just the idea of trying to eat more than he already had lately was intimidating! Emiyn chuckled at the thought before considering the waterlogged comment. "Well maybe if it's a friendly fire that may be just what you need. I can make some tea to try to drain out that oceanwater." He offered with a small smile though his gaze was wary. Who would be out here with a fire? The smaller island had so far seemed fairly empty of locals almost as if they were avoiding the area for some reason. Emiyn was honestly worried about which island the storm had pushed them into, especially since he had overheard some Belreans speaking about others more dangerous than the Kahi potentially living in the southern seas. Surely it was just rumors, right?
"Just take care and let me go first. You're still injured." He instructed, his voice firm as he studied Yokka thoughtfully. If he could leave her behind to check out the fire himself then he would but they had no idea what else was out here on the island. It was definitely better to stick together, especially since he could not bear the thought of losing Yokka again. Taking a deep breath Emiyn pushed forward and found himself emerging into a clearing, his staff held tightly in his hand with magic tightening around him. Even exhausted he was prepared to fight should there be any trouble, the heavy air around him proof enough of the power residing within the petite Matori. However he was not prepared to see such a strange woman sitting by the fire with someone in....was that a cocoon?
Blankets? Emiyn frowned before recognizing those green curls. Could it be?! "Captain?" He asked before turning his gaze towards the stranger, his staff raised defensively. "Who are you and why do you have this man held hostage?"

It looked like the earthling might struggle for a moment... Mio smirked lightly once he settled back down and shook her head. "You make a habit of washing up on shore all beat up? Can't say it's normal for me. You dragged yourself more than I did anyway. I just got you the rest of the way up here. You're welcome, by the way."
His question did make her smile. He knew where he was, so that was a good sign! "Sure we do. I wasn't born here, but I grew up here. You're not from here, obviously. What're you-" Her antennae gave a light twitch at the sound of approaching footsteps, and her body stiffened defensively. It certainly wasn't another Aishan..
Oh! A couple more earthlings. Hopefully they were looking for their fellow earthling! "H-hostage?" Mio looked at her charge with surprise, and then burst out laughing. "Wow, you earthlings sure have a strange way of saying 'thank you' when someone else helps you out." She turned a pointed look at the man in the blanket. "You're welcome, by the way." Still, she raised her hands to show she meant no harm to anyone and gestured the pair closer. "Go ahead and take him if you want."

"I remember when I first met you... You've changed a lot, but a little more wouldn't hurt." The guy really had been a scrawny thing when he had first joined the crew. The warning to take it easy immediately made Yokka's jaw stick out with stubborn disapproval, but she didn't fight it. After all, he wasn't wrong. Begrudgingly, she followed after Emiyn and focused on the idea of the fire. She was about ready for another break!
Her gaze went straight to the Aishan, blinking curiously. "Elarian?" she murmured to herself, unconsciously scooting a little more behind Emiyn. She had never seen one herself, but there had been plenty of descriptions; their viciousness was never understated in the stories. This one was.. laughing?
Her brow knit briefly with uncertainty. Emiyn was standing guard though. "Ephrym. You okay?" she asked, hurrying over to start unraveling the cocoon that had their captain trapped.

"Thank you by the way." Replied Ephrym with a chuckle. "Forgive me but my mind is still trying to catch up with everything...you could say it's been a bit battered." Truly he hadn't meant to be rude but it would possibly be even more rude to say that he wasn't expecting an Aishan to be his savior today, right? He most definitely didn't want to risk that not when he just caught sight of a lovely smile....which was immediately discarded as others approached. And we were just starting to have a conversation too. Despite his situation there was an actual pout on the man's lips before he realized it was members of his crew approaching.
"Oh! Yokka! Emiyn! I see you made it! Hostage?" Ephrym wiggled about in his protective wrappings as if testing how tied up he truly was before trying to stay somewhat still to let Yokka unravel him. Yep, that's a nice firm job of wrapping indeed. "To be fair most people aren't expecting to see their lost companion bundled up like this." He managed with a small smile. "But I am most definitely thankful to you, Miss?" His words lingered in the air as he looked towards the Aishan, realizing they hadn't even been properly introduced yet.

At least it seemed that the Aishan wasn't stopping them so that was a good sign. Still, Emiyn couldn't help but to tense protectively as Yokka left his side to go help Ephrym out of his situation. Why should it not surprise him to find his captain with some strange woman after all of this? "We thought he was dead." He managed with a glance towards the Aishan. "We're in a strange land with foreigners so forgive us if we're a bit wary." He wasn't one to beat around the bush like Ephrym but at least he lowered his staff to try and ease some of the tension.
Emiyn had plenty of knowledge and experiences with the Aishans unlike many from Belrea. He knew that he should be wary, especially since this wasn't an Alkidike. From the looks of things she was probably the daughter of the Extremists who had been banished years ago after that war. He had been only a youngling then but the stories were enough to haunt those he had met over the years before leaving for Belrea. Treaty or not the man was still wary, especially since they were in Kahi. "A bit far from Yael, isn't it?" He found himself asking as he kept standing, his body poised for any trouble while Yokka continued helping Ephrym out his wrappings until the injured man could finally hobble to his feet.

Mio snorted playfully. "Like I said, I thought it was best until you got your senses back. I'm Mio." Her brow knit when she noticed the female earthling was looking a little worse for the wear as well. "You're all from the same boat then." That was a comfort. It was good for the earthling to find other earthlings, but companions was even better. "Yeah, I get it. It was part of why I wrapped her- I mean- him, as much as I did." Males... Weird.
Yael? Her gaze shifted to observe the waterling. He seemed wary of her, and she was sure a similar look had been in the female's eyes as well. Instant concern... As valid as it was, it was still annoying. She was not like them! With a weary sigh, she turned her attention to the fire and the pot over it. "Maybe? I don't actually remember how far the trip is. I was really young when my mother and I moved here."
