[Halloween ORP] Fall Festival 2016 [Close p. 12]

Drew Bones stepped into the festival grounds and smiled. Looking back at his twin, Dria, Bones, he planned his words carefully this time. "Let's not think about anything else right now. I think it would be best if we just tried to enjoy the festival." Dria nodded, some hidden courage now showing. She grinned back at him. "I agree." Changing the subject, she looked around. "It seems as though we may be some of the first ones here." They had long discussed what costumes they would wear, but in the end it was Dria who suggested that they be Ancient Egyptians. Their parents were unsure about it, with Dria's past history and all, however, Drew comprehended that Dria was attempting to heal from her emotional trauma, and this was the time to begin. There happened to be several additions to the costumes however, that Drew wasn't sure he was comfortable with. One of which was the Blue Lotus of a minor size, tucked behind Dria's ear. Another was a scroll emblazoned with many hieroglyphs that Drew carried. Well, they seemed to make Dria happy, so he went along with them.
Drew and Dria looked around. They appeared to be unfashionably early. The fairgrounds were bare of attendees. Drew wondered if his best friends would be here. He desperately wished to introduce them to Dria, they had all helped so much to find her. As such, the situation necessitated for them to meet her, to share in the excitement, that one small victory over evil.
Dria was seeing the world in a whole new way now. In fact, two entirely new ways. Well, one was entirely new, the other just seemed to have the novelty of newness. She was with her twin and friend, and could meet the world with him at her side. However, There was also the secret world of the Senshi and the Negas. Anyone could be a friend or enemy in disguise.
"Dria, you want to try the bean bag toss?" Drew looked at her questioning. Dria's wide grin opened into a chuckle. "Of course. I happen to be a Master of Bean Bag Toss." Drew raised an eyebrow. "Well then, you've clearly learned some new skills." His expression turned to one of mischief. "But so have I. Race you over there." "Last one is a three toed sloth!" Dria shouted laughing. Drew and Dria raced over and to Drew, it was like old times. Dria was happier than ever. Her actual memories might not come back, but this feeling, and being with Drew, she remembered it. Drew and Dria were indeed twins, and brother and sister. They were indeed close friends as well, and nothing, not even memory loss and a four year long separation could take that away. She knew where she belonged, memory loss or not.
Well anyways, it was now time to enjoy the festival, meet new people, play some games and have fun (with Drew). Drew felt the same way about her, and was hoping to meet some other friends here too.

Lena
The Festival had been on Lena's calendar for awhile. It was such a nice change of pace from everything else that she had marked it as a surprise treat...not to mention could be a fun date. At least that was what she had hoped before the great tumble of 2016 occurred.

"You know the wheel chair isn't so bad." Lena smiled as she pushed Xanthas' through the crowd. She was almost enjoying the fact that people got out of their way without even having to ask! She had brought him over to the food trucks to bribe him with whatever he wanted. Rides were of course...out...but that didn't mean there weren't other things to do. Someone had a petting zoo set up, she guessed when they walked by with the smell. Lena almost wanted to see a baby sheep in Xan's lap.

Why he had invited Mercy to such an event, Nick had to wonder. Maybe it was time to get his head checked? But truth of it was that when he saw the info online, he had thought of her. Something about just having fun and being social...

Boy he hated it.

Still, as he walked with her, Nick couldn't help but smile. "You hungry? Or...um...what about that booth over there?" Okay, maybe the booth selling knock off gaming items caught his attention.

Delilah
It had been impromptu her coming to this at all. Delilah had happened to see a flyer for it in passing and hated to admit that her first thought was 'Nega Event'. Maybe it was just time getting to her but it was hard for her to believe anything large scale was not related to them in some way anymore.

Cynic? Maybe. Oh well. Maybe it was more to do with the fact she was avoiding thinking that she was there alone and not working.

"Thank you very much." Delilah offered a soft smile as the woman handed her the funnel cake she had been waiting on. Powder sugar everywhere but it was so worth it. Just as she was turning around to walk away, Delilah paid the price for not watching where she was going...

Smacking straight into the uniform of what was clearly an officer.

Her face paled and she gazed up at the man. "Oh! Oh I'm so sorry! Here, let me get that off..." Powder Sugar on dark blue...

Ciel sat at a booth that had the name of her Grandparent's company across it, it had some of the merchandise she could convince them to mark down for the festival. Some of the local store employees had helped her set the booth up but now she sat alone trying to pull in customers.

She had also taken the time to make up a bunch of brochures that talked about the dangers that crept out at night in this city, though she kept it fairly not specific so that she wouldn't reveal herself as a knight. She handed them out to any customers who would take them. She hoped they might keep at least a few people safe at night.

Ciel was dressed like a white knight in homemade armor that one of her maids had helped her make from scrap metal. It looked far more like a proper knight costume there her actual Knight uniform.

Pat O'Ryan

Pat had seen the flyers around for the fair. At first he wasn't going to go, he had enough to do at home that taking a night off would put him seriously behind but he caved when his buddies practically begged him to go. Something about needing a designated driver by the end of the night, apparently a cab would be too expensive for those cheapskates. Now the tall redhead was all alone wandering the fairgrounds. Sighing at the unfairness of it all, he really wanted a beer too, Pat distracted himself playing a 'pop the balloons' dart game.

Ten dollars latter he walked away with a stuffed animal that was probably worth two but it had been fun, especially watching those balloons explode each time he hit them with a dart. Now he was a tall redhead with a relatively small green bear tucked up under his arm that he would be giving away before the night was over. He needed a stuffed animal like he needed a hole in the head. He had enough strange hobbies, collecting fuzzy creatures filled with polyester fiber would just be too much.

Xanthus

"I feel like I should have built a cow catcher for this thing." Xan signed. It was... he had to admit, easier than the scooter for the house, and less likely to take out a stranger at ankles than the crutches, but it was still... disconcerting to be riding around the event in a chair. Plus he felt like everyone was looking and pretending not to. In fact he was fairly sure they were, even if their intentions were more harmless than his urge to be surly told him. People reflexively tended to want to see if they could figure out -why- someone wasn't moving on their own two feet, and if they couldn't figure it out by the ridiculously large cast... well that was their problem and he hoped they got their toes smushed, even if it was kind of damn mean to think so. Half of them were probably agents anyway. That was how it tended to go, so more than funnel cake and cute animals he was sort of hoping no one died.

"See anything worth trying?" The deep fried fair food tended to be the obvious course, there was something about fried dough being potentially in offering that made it hard for him to be entirely in a bad mood even if he had lost the discussion of bringing the crutches 'just in case'. Still...maybe one of the food trucks would do a good burger. He could put up with a lot for a good burger too.

Merchandise: Books! With a surplus of old books and tons of donations that never made it into circulation, the library is offering their wares for basically nothing!
Appearance: It is a booth that looks like it is made out of stacked books and simple planks of wood.
Are They Participating in the IC Raffle? Sure! A library card for anyone without one, and a leatherbound book of a classic (of the person's choosing).

The Space Cauldron

Anthony Darrow was glad to be out and about, though this was a little outside his comfort zone. He was not much of a salesman, so he was thankful he opted for a 'donation' oriented booth where nothing cost more than a dollar. He did not have to push sales, after all, and could live very much like he did at work in the library: with people browsing leisurely and making conversation.

It was a lovely day, and he was in high spirits, actually excited to be doing something with the community. Of course, he knew how things like this tended to go, so he was on his guard just as much as he always was. The optimistic side of him just wanted to think that good things could happen every once in a while.

Nathan Darrow and Dogby were standing near the booth. Nathan beside it, and Dogby on the counter. Dogby was wearing a suit that made her look like a presidential candidate, with a party icon of a dog. She was just happy to be there, as always, panting and looking around hopefully at the people passing by.

Nathan was not going to stay at the booth, or help his dad with the library stuff. He was inclined to go explore the event, and was only chilling out to let things kick up.

Robert Bastion did not opt for a booth for his antique store, instead deciding to walk the event and see what others had to trade and see what he might be able to barter for. He was not one for public events, but he also knew his brother was running a booth, and wanted to keep an eye on him. Not for any good reason, of course, as he hated his brother, but he'd been distracted from his bitterness by joining up with the negaverse and having to dedicate time to learn things like that.

Michael Kidder

Hadn't gone to his usual lengths of obnoxious for the day, maybe still rattled after his night out as Designated Driver for his best friend Lucas Hayes, and his most obnoxious behavior for now was a shirt with Waldo from the Where's Waldo books, blood spattered and holding a knife, with the caption 'Find him before he finds you', under an oversized zip hoodie that made his wirey frame look even more so.

His fingers twitched, two of them tapping occasionally as though he were tapping ash from an invisible cigarette, and he browsed the stalls half absently, trying to see if there was anything he felt like buying, though Boudica the Conure or Lucas would as likely be the recipients as anyone else.

It didn't help that he'd in succession, recovered from a starseed-coma, and then been awakened as an Earth Knight, something he only knew enough about to know a magical Shepherd crook had appeared in the air in the for him to threaten a young blond woman in a green suit who had yanked something that looked like a plumbob out of Lucas (and then accidentally dropped it back, more startlement and accident than any credit to Nether Wallops powers of intimidation.)

Maybe some of the fancy candles or something at the stand with the soaps and perfumes? ...Lucas could always use jab at his Bachelor pad... though then again he'd already gotten him Soap on a Rope....

Merchandise: A variety of masks - mostly half-masks and a few full masks of varied themes - as well as an array of small back-wings in bird/angel, bat/demon, and insect/fae styles. There's a few other accessories as well such as eye-patches, fake pointed and animal ears, feathered hats, extravagant feathered hair-pieces, etc. Jack also has an area offering face-painting - a dollar a face, but free for children under a certain age and for customers who purchase something else from his stall.

Jack Burnett
"Left your costume at home? Looking for something lighter to wear than a full outfit? Look no further! Get your masks, wings, and other things here!" Jack called, leaning out the front of his stall. He wore a fox-themed half-mask with a long snout crafted from foam and painted like the ones they were selling. A small pair of orange and white feathered wings could be seen peeking out from behind him. It might have been awkward acting like a pesky salesperson, costume or not, but mostly he was just bored.

Even if people weren't interested in buying anything, he hoped they would drop by to at least chat for a bit. The stall seemed like a great idea at first, but he hadn't accounted for how he would have been stuck there the entire time on his own without anything else to do.

He wondered if Kit, the college kid who had put him up to this thing, had known and planned this all along. Kit was the one who had done most of the work with the crafted pieces they had for sale and he was the one who had suggested the face-painting. He'd done so much that Jack had offered to be the one who did the selling, claiming that Kit would probably scare customers away with his overly-friendly demeanor and habit of creeping people out by staring at them to draw or by invading people's personal space. Not that Jack didn't do that, but he felt he did so more casually and naturally due to what he considered his higher charisma.

Now, though, he couldn't help wondering if his ego had been used against him and this had been all a trick. Frowning at his phone, Jack leaned on the table he stood at and started typing out a message to his business partner.

Kit Paine
The older teen paused as he felt his phone vibrate in his back pocket and took it out. He himself was wearing a tri-corner pirate captain's hat spouting several plumes of different hues of blue. His back sported a small pair of iridescent dragonfly wings made from fantasy film. When he read Jack's text complaining of his boredom, Kit chuckled softly to himself and suggested Jack read a book. The quick response back assured Kit that he had no such thing with him as he'd expected to be busier than he was now.

Shaking his head with a smirk, the tattoo-faced young man called up Jack to speak to him directly as he walked, exploring the festival as people began to show up. "You remember you were the one who volunteered to stay at the stall," he reminded his younger friend with a smile. "Yeah, yeah, I know. Okay, tell you what. Hang in there until I make another round and then we can trade off, okay? You can go get a book or explore or whatever and come back when you feel like it. In the meantime, I'll do my best not to scare off customers since I lack your 'boyish charm'," he snickered. "I think I'll be able to do the face-painting better than you anyway."

Whatever Jack's response, Kit laughed aloud. "Yeah? Alright, how about we have a little contest? Whoever can sell the most stuff gets to tell the other to do any one thing within reason. Sound good?" His grin broadened. "Alright, great. Keep working hard until I get there, then," he said. "Talk to you later. Bye~"

Kidder Looked up more attentively as Jack shouted across the market, and drifted in that direction, fighting a grin, but not very hard. Wings would be Hilarious. Oh man if they had angel wings. Oh man if they had Devil wings. Oh man if they had one that was one of each...

He'd have to crack open his wallet for that. Lucas would fall off his damn chair. It would be amazing. He'd buy Lucas a pair but he didn't think he'd actually put them on, or at least he'd make disparaging jokes about them. A mask though maybe... he'd have to see what they had.

...And ooh they had Pixie wings. Man he would bend over backward to get a picture of LUCAS of all people wearing pixie wings. It would be a -stitch-.

"OK those are goddamn great...How much are they going for?" He asked, as he approached Jack's stall.
