"I can steer, you know..." He offered, raising his hands in surrender as she let the chair roll a short distance. "...And brake." He added. Although he could see where you might fail to if you were less mobile or more surprised. "...And all those options sound pretty good." He added, trying to hide that remaining tendency to blush furiously. "This is the real reason you wanted to use the chair, huh?" He added, jokingly. "I'm going to end up needing you to steer because I won't be able to see for packages." He looked over his shoulder and grinned.
You could almost forget how these things tended to go. Or at least put it aside long enough to think about getting home and enjoying the days rewards, and he tried to steal an spare kiss while she leaned down to kiss him on the cheek.

Emily Wiley
Emily was settled to looking over a booth with some particularly cute baking tools. Oh, sure, her specialty was computers, but her passion for baking cakes and decorating them sometimes put Cake War chefs to shame, at least, in her opinion. The construction was obnoxious, sure, but nothing new. With a war of superpowers underground, places merely had to rebuild - so she happily blamed it on the latest skirmish between some powered folk. For her part, she was analysing some tools.
Finally, as it seemed to dim, she rose, blinking up before shrugging and motioning to a tool to the owner.
"Can it work in chocolate?" She asked idly. Maybe a new thing to try? Getting an affirmative, she handed her money over to the owner, before merrily pocketing her new kitchen gadget. Yes, she was surely going home to make the prettiest fall themed cake for her relatives and it would have pretty fondant leaves and... And...
Well, time for another candy apple.
"Need more sugar." She murmured.

Ally had helped her mother set up for the fair happily. It was fun, and getting to make spooky brownies with her mom for the Mocha Mountain booth to go with delicious drinks was always fun - moreso making delicious maple cookies. Nothing said fall like Maple, and Ally was now all but happily minding the regiuster, waving off a customer before turning to Alexandria, beaming brightly.
"Hey Mom! We're low on coffee and chai again! Want me to make some more?" She asked. She loved this fair already. Loved.
"Or should I make some cider?

Myles smiled at Camilla, still half turned towards Caely. "Hello," he greeted pleasantly. His eyes were sparkling just as much now. "If you're looking for anything specific, please let me know!" He shuffled behind his booth and smiled again, scanning the crowd. "Are you enjoying yourself so far?" he prompted, eyes lighting up every time he saw a new costume or something interesting.

Jeremy seemed in good spirits; he liked the conversation and didn't mind the phone checking. Still, he laughed when she relayed the message. "Well, hopefully I won't be for much longer. She'd better hurry."
His had been skimming the crowd while she texted, but something in the distance had caught his eye. At first, he suspected he was seeing things--all the lights and noises were a bit distracting.
But the dark cloud the moved closer in a way that just didn't seem natural. Quietly, and as discreetly as possible, his eyes followed it and he squinted as he tried to identify what was moving in on them. The last thing he wanted to do was be unprepared.
The second to last thing he wanted to do was alarm anyone.

At first, it was impossible to see what the cloud was. A sound came first--a faint flapping, and tiny, strange chirps. The wind seemed to change, and suddenly the fairground felt cold. Even the smell of fried food and pumpkin spice couldn't conceal the distinctly musty smell, like fresh plowed dirt.
They were bats.
Giant, screeching, angry bats.
They weren't cute, like the ones you might see in the zoo, curled up with a piece of fruit. These bats were huge, with a wingspan of six feet easily. Their ears were curled back and their fangs were bared. They descended on the crowd with a ferocity not unlike a swarm of rabid animals.
They were agitated--and hungry.
As they swooped through the crowd, there were only a few options.
You could run and hide...or you can fight.
Quote:
Get ready to roll some dice! At the top of your next post, please bold your character's actions--they can run and hide, or fight, but both have slightly different information regarding your dice roll!
If you run and hide... You have the option to escape all together, but it isn't going to be easy! Roll a ten sided dice to determine your effectiveness! If you roll a 1-3, you don't make it anywhere and are swarmed by bats who try to bite, claw and scratch you! If you roll a 4-10, you manage to make it to a safe haven and are safe from the bats...for now. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there are any permanent fixtures on the fairground, so you might have to make due in the back of stall or in a portapotty...
If you attempt to fight... You are Destiny City's bravest! You know that it's going to be too difficult to run with all these giant bats attacking, so you are prepared to stand your ground--roll a ten sided dice to determine your effectiveness! If you roll a 1-3, you are swarmed by bats who try to bite, claw and scratch you! If you roll a 4-10 you manage to fend off the bats with your bare hands...for now.
Remember, there is no powering up during this event--it's simply too dangerous and you risk being seen! You will have a little more than 24 hours to respond to this prompt before the next one, so act fast! If you do not roll before the next prompt is put up, your character will have been swarmed by bats!
This RP is still open to new posters (and will stay open for people to join!), however, this is the last post anyone can join in on before they are considered a late entrant! Late entrants may be subject to small dice penalties that negatively affect their roll, so join now before you get stuck with those!
Bats, of course this peaceful event that was meant to bring everyone in the city a bit of joy and relaxation would be interrupted by a gigantic swam of angry giant bats, truly Destiny city is an amazing place to live. Ciel thought bitterly once she realized what the strange moving cloud actually was. She wondered if this was a chaos attack and if these bats were some form of youma, but those thoughts would have to wait
As the bats descended on the festival Ciel hopped over her stand and raced to help. Unfortunately she couldn't transform, not with so many witnesses around but even without being Hyperborea Ciel could still help....could still fight.
And fight she did, as she grabbed one bat from out of the air and slammed it into the ground stomping on it with her steal toed boots. She punched and kicked bats as fast as she could, she utilized all of the fighting knowledge that she acquired over her career as a knight.
The small 2nd grader had come to the festival with her mom, she had been having a great time checking out all of the stands and getting a whole bunch of cool stuff that her mom was happy to get for her like stuff animals and things.
But then the sky got dark, but it wasn't a normal kind of dark, the dark clouds were actually moving. Then she saw them, countless bats far to many for her to count. They weren't cute bats like Alex had seen when she begged her big sis to take her to the zoo, these were mean and evil bats. They were trying to hurt people.
Her mother was absolutely terrified for her daughters sake, this was supposed to be a fun day, she had gotten the day off of work so she could have some mommy daughter bonding time since she rarely got to spend time with her daughter thanks to her job. But now even that was ruined, but more than anything she worried for Alex's safety.
She tried to grab her daughter's hand but Alex was a quick and nimble kid and slipped out of her grasp before her mother could get a hold of her. Alex had seen a group of kids her age being attacked by a bat so she fearlessly ran to them grabbing the bat out of the air and throwing it to the ground, she then jumped up and stomped both of her feet down on the bat. Her mother ran after her a nervous wreck, oh why did Alex have to be like this.
Sean had been too busy trying to peddle his wares to notice when the sky first started getting dark. But as it grew darker, and he happened to notice other people looking up, he frowned and finally took notice of the diminishing light. “What, is it going to rain?” he wondered aloud as he glanced up. And then his eyes grew wide at the sight of the black mass growing closer. “That’s no rain cloud…” he said in disbelief. Still, he couldn’t quite figure out what it was until the sound of flapping and screeching reached him, followed shortly after by the bats themselves.
And suddenly they were everywhere! With nothing but tents and tables in sight, finding a place to escape them seemed hopeless. So he did the next best thing: try to bat them away! Unfortunately…the only thing at hand to fight them off with was his table full of plush toys. He tried anyway, frantically swinging at the bats with the blue stuffed dog in his hand, but it quickly became evident that it was about as effective as trying to bail out a sinking boat with a sieve. The bats easily avoided his clumsy strikes (or was he just missing?) and swarmed around him. His face and hands quickly became peppered with the sting of little wounds, and he had to abandon his weak attack and try to find a safe place anyway. Maybe he could duck under his table and at least cover his head.

(( I have three charas, so going to roll all at once and then respond <3 Hopefully that's okay ouo! ))
Leonora - try to run and hide (5 - manage to make it to a safe haven and are safe from the bats)
She knew something felt off, but Leonora didn't know how off until she head the cry of bats. The cloud was behind her and it started her. Leonora watched as one of her potential customers dropped one of the brooches she had made and took off. "W-wait!"
Leonora's cries were lost in the panic of the crowd and the screeches of the bats. Part of her wanted to fight, but she wasn't much of a fighter, even with her 'super powers'. Instead, she dove under her table and tried to reach back up into the table and stuff as many of her pieces of art into her bag as she could. The bats seemed to be temporarily ignoring her, so she stood up, grabbed the rest, and made a mad dash for somewhere safe.
Looking around, she thought she should go back and help, but Leonora didn't want to add to the panic. Gladly, she made it to a safer area at least, for now. She hugged her bag tightly and draped it across her shoulders. Leonora looked at the others that made it to the area safely. "Is anyone hurt?"

Camilla - attempt to fight (4 - fend off the bats with your bare hands)
Camilla smiled at the sales person and wondered. "Do you have anything that smells kind of fruity? I think I pre-" The sound of bats distracted her. She could see large ones diving straight for... Everyone. She still had one of the bottles in her hand, and didn't realize when she dropped it.
"Great... I knew I should have stayed home..."
She tried her best to fend of the few bats that were coming towards her. Powering up would make all of this so much easier, but she couldn't risk being seen. Camilla swatted and managed to beat away some so she could talk to the person running the booth. "I'm sorry, I can pay for that. Do you need help with anything? Anything we can run and save?"

Candice - attempt to fight (4 - fend off the bats with your bare hands)
It was disheartening when Candice heard the cries of the bats. She couldn't believe how many were out there and how large they all were. The mood for buying was definitely diminished. Candice stood her ground and swatted around her, trying to keep the bats away from her. Eventually, she managed to clear a bit of the area and turned back towards the salesperson.
"Hey! The name's Candice." She kept looking around to see if any more bats were approaching. "Do you need help saving any of your wares or do you just want to get to safety?"
Candice looked back at what could be lost. She had to admit, among the chaos, she was still interested in buying. "We're going to have to figure out what I'm going to buy another time. Well, if the bats go away, I'd still be ready to buy today.
Despite the chaos, Candice's desires to spend her hard earned money on something. Hopefully, the bats would pass.

Alerana Ikaros - attempting to fight
Just like apparently most of Destiny City, Rana had decided to go to the big Fall Festival that the town was holding, because who didn’t like a good fair? She’d started the evening by browsing the things the festival had to offer, which included rides, food stalls (such as the requisite places offering anything imaginable fried and/or on a stick), and lots of booths selling stuff. There was also a band playing at all times, and music wasn’t bad either. A bit loud, but fair music tended to be, and it did block out most of the sounds of construction from a nearby lot.
Trying out the rides first was tempting; she was fond of roller coasters, spinning swings, and anything that moved fast and/or high. But the smells wafting from the food stalls were too good to resist, so her first stop was to get some kind of fried-meat-on-a-stick, with a side of spicy dipping sauce.
While she munched on her greasy, but surprisingly tasty, snack, she started to stroll past the vendor stalls and peruse their wares. The booths selling jewelry, soaps, plushies and flowers didn’t hold her attention, but one with a variety of costume accessories made her pause. Her eyes scanned slowly over the masks, hats and wings, lingering especially long over the feathered wings. They were actually strangely tempting. Apparently birds were her thing now, so it might be kind of fun to dress up at one. How much did something like that cost, anyway?
She was still considering whether to step up and ask about them when she noticed the sky was getting dark. She glanced at her watch, then up with a frown. It was too early for the sun to set! When she noticed the dark cloud, she initially thought it might be a raincloud. Then she saw it was rising from the construction site, and wondered if it was smoke instead. The vague worry that something might have gone wrong over there quickly changed to alarm when she realized the cloud was moving closer, and was made of lots of little creatures.
Or actually, not so little after all. The flapping and screeching mass was comprised of bats, and really freaking big ones! Logically, she knew bats had little cause to bother people, and their echolocation meant they could dodge people easily. But her instinctive reaction to seeing a swarm to animals headed her way was to either fight or run, and they were coming far too fast to get away. So instead she backed up against the wall of a stall for what little protection it offered, and prepared to meet the bats head-on.
As the flying animals descended, she swiped and stabbed with the skewer she’d had from her meal. The flimsy stick broke pretty quickly though, so she tossed it at a bat and started swinging at them with her bare hands. She’d have thought hitting a flying target would be pretty hard, but the fast that they were so big and there were so dang many of them meat that pretty much every time she swung her fists, they connected with something. She wasn’t exactly driving them away, but at least she was managing to keep them off her.
Kit Paine - attempting to hide with Evren "Hehe, my hat has a few different hues of blue feathers, but my coat's more a royal blue." He chuckled at the mention of Tiffany. "Yeah, the jewelry store Tiffany's, right? That always made me think more aqua than blue, though. But we're getting off the main subject, sweetheart. What are you wearing?" Even if she was standing, he wasn't sure that would help since most people around him were. He hadn't even realized she'd been sitting prior. "Are you near some place to sit? Like a bench or something? Can you get up on it?"
But she had already seemed to have that idea because at that moment he caught sight of her black and orange lolita outfit. "Found you," he said, grinning as he hung up his phone. Kit was headed straight for her when he noticed the cloud begin to descend over the crowd. He'd been so preoccupied with trying to hunt for Evren before that he hadn't seen the unusual signs of the sky darkening prior. There was a moment he took to register what the cloud was comprised of before he was bolting toward the young lady on the bench.
"Get down!" he yelled at her, his pirate coat flapping behind him as he ran. As soon as he reached her, Kit attempted to nab her around the waist with an arm and pull her down to crouch under the bench with his coat around them both. It worked well enough to cover them, but it was small and cramped and he knew they couldn't stay there for long if they were to avoid being trampled by the scattered, panicked people all around. With a solid grip still around Evren's waist and his coat draped over her like a wing, he tried to lead them both toward the back of the nearest stall.
He heard a scream, followed by more, as the black cloud was found out to not be a cloud but rather bats - attacking bats. He had been on line with his cousin still, they were due to get on the ride with the next load of people, but that obviously was not about to happen. People were screaming and running and the ride was being emptied of people as quickly as it could be.
Seung himself had decided to not run, like some people were doing, instead when some of the bats got close to him he lashed out to strike back. His hands moved, formed into fists, and lashed out at the animals. Normally he liked animals, didn't like hurting them, but these things were big and they wanted to bite him and who knows if they were rabid. He was not liking this at all.
Shouting to his cousin, while he smacked another bat away. "Run! Hide!"
Bats? She heard the screams, heard what people were shouting, and she saw what was coming down onto the fair grounds attacking people. Why would bats, and such a large number of them, be attacking people? Not only that but they were large! These were not the cute sort of bats that had people cooing. These were big and vicious looking and they seemed to be biting and attacking people. The idea of them being rabid, or having some other illness, did fill her head but she didn't run - especially not when told to. She didn't run and she didn't hide, how was she going to out run, in heels, something that was flying not to mention there were a lot of bats?
Nope, she stood her ground and took to hitting them with her hands and purse. She was yelling back to her cousin, in order to be heard over the noise. "I'm not going! Staying right here!" And she was. She was going to stay right at her cousins side and make sure they were both ok.

Odessa - attempting to fight
Odessa grinned, and added the final spray to her bouquet, before handing it over to a customer. She took his money, and paused for a moment, pushing her wild hair out of her face, and looking up. She wrinkled her nose as a strange musty smell hit her nose. The strange black cloud in the sky made her stomach feel strange. It just seemed... wrong.
Apparently because it was. The red head let out a screech as the cloud seemed to swoop in, and engulf the fair. Bats. Gross, massive bats. They tried to swarm around her, gnashing with their pointy fangs. She flailed out with her hands, and made contact with one of her assailants. She pummeled the bat down to the ground. Odessa continued flailing her arms, pushing back towards her booth. After her first contact, the bats seemed to be trying the best to keep back from her flailing.

Jack Burnett "...Boadicea the warrior bird queen, huh?" the teen said, appreciative of the historical reference and the thought behind the meaning of the name. "That's really cool. Not sure I ever want to meet her, though."
He turned his back for a minute to get the wings in order, grinning as he heard the man's response regarding not being able to resist watching people writhe. He knew he could relate to that. "Sounds like you two are birds of a feather."
"Did you want to try these on before you bought them to make sure they fit? And I can wrap them up if you like or you can just have them on for the festival. Same with the fairy wings, though I don't know if the friend you got them for is around." Was the sky suddenly darker or was he just imagining things?
When Candice described what she was looking for, Jack cast her a wry smile. "Okay, this one I have on," he said, indicating the fox mask he wore, "is an animal mask, but it's also a half-mask and I'd think it'd be acceptable to wear to a ball, do you? But if you're looking for one that doesn't have a theme, we've got a few of those, both ornate and plain. Let's see..."
He turned to examine the white masks they had available while glancing over now and then to their feathered and gossamer wing pairs for what might have matched. "White base, lace, intricate designs, elegant... There's also the matter of if you want it to be symmetrical or not. Or with side plumes or on a stick instead of tied in the back."
Jack brought back a few to lay out on the table before her. "I didn't know if you just wanted pure white, but...this one is pretty lacey, but this one has a lace-like pattern to it. This one also has lace, but plumes that might go with feathered angel wings. Unless you're trying to go for more simple elegance, in which case this one might be your best bet."
While he gave time for the blonde young lady to decide, he noticed a girl around his age with straight, dark brown hair and round, amber eyes browsing his stall. He smiled and gave her a friendly little wave before realizing something was wrong. The sky was way too dark for this time of day. His brows furrowed and he leaned out over the front table of his stall to look upward.
Jack heard and smelled them before he actually made out the winged creatures by sight within their cloud of a colony. What in the world...? Was this some sort of prank? Wild bats had no reason to be here, much less swooping down to attack masses of people like this. He glanced at the trio in front of his stall and realized they had begun trying to fight off the flying mammals.
The blonde lady actually turned to him and introduced herself before offering to help with his stuff. He cast her a lop-sided grin. "Jack," he said. "And thanks, but I think I have an idea. One sec." Ducking back behind the table, he bought back a pair of large, sturdy (and somewhat heavy) leather wings meant to resemble those of a dragon. He hopped up over the table before trying to use the wings as a makeshift shield as well as a giant bat-swatter.
"Guys, if you wanna grab some of those larger wings and beat back these guys with them or use them as cover, be my guest. Better than trying to fend them off with just arms and hands, I think. Or if you wanna use the stall for shelter until these things pass, feel free."
