Aiden must not have noticed, due to all the bats and the ensuring chaos, that Alexandre had already decided he wasn't going to be running or hiding from the bats. He'd even smacked a few down, he hoped Aiden would reward him later, so when Aiden tossed his coat over the blond caught it and moved to return it. "Keep it, you need it more. I'm not running from them." He wanted the other safe though, or as safe as one could be against a swarm of bats.
Even if it would hurt being bitten, and hit with wings, he was prepared to fight them. He would rather stand and fight than run and be attacked. At least if he fought he could maybe take a few out of commission, and he wasn't much for running away anyway. Maybe,s omehow, if we was lucky the idea of not attacking him would get through the animals as well? Though he sort of doubted it, they all did seem a bit...off - too violent.
"You can play doctor when we get home - if I need it." Winking at the other as he said this. He'd let the other patch him up and scold him, so long as he didn't have to run and hide. "Go hide. I have my phone...." He'd call when the bats cleared and find Aiden, then they could go home.

The bats don't seem pleased; the slower, weaker civilians are already falling prey to them. The bats seem to be out for food. They wreak havoc on food related stands, but the fried food seems to be a human delicacy, and not one the bats are favorable too. Instead, the bats seem interested in...blood?
They're not just attacking humans, they're trying to feed off of them--taking small bites out of their flesh and digging their hideously long fangs into any vein they can find.
People are fighting and running and screaming all around you; already there are a few people passed out--from blood loss or fear, it's hard to tell.
But you're still standing, and if you want to stay that way, you're going to have to keep acting.
There are a hundred bats, at least; some have been beaten back and seem to be hovering outside of the fairgrounds. Some are wounded, perching atop stalls or crawling away to recuperate.
The others are just angry for their wounded brethren. They are attacking with more ferocity now!
Anyone who has bitten will begin to feel lightheaded and have difficulties seeing. These effects will wear off in a post, but be careful you don't get bitten again!

Running and hiding is still an option... Except, the bats are now making their way into the safe places! Maybe fighting is the only way to go! If you're fighting, you're helping everyone around you! The bats are angry and are swarming quicker, but that's not stopping you! Roll a 10 sided dice to determine your effectiveness! If you roll a 1-3, you're still hurting them--but they get you in the end! You are swarmed by bats attacking you and are taking moderate damage even while you fight. If you roll a 4-8, you're still doing good; those bats never stood a chance! If you roll a 9-10, not only do you manage to fend off the bats, but you also find a weapon that will give you +2 on all future rolls to attack the bats.
Remember, there is no powering up during this event--it's simply too dangerous and you risk being seen! You will have 24 hours to respond to this prompt before the next one, so act fast! If you do not roll before the next prompt is put up, your character will have been swarmed by bats! If you miss rolling or a prompt, you can still rejoin later, but you must suffer the consequences of being bitten (Anyone who has bitten will begin to feel lightheaded and have difficulties seeing. These effects will wear off in a post!)

Marlin had been relieved when the two young men both and Elaine took his suggestion to try and find some cover.
Marlin had been intending to follow after and maybe swing out at some more bats along the way because whilst he and Elaine had worked really hard on the stall - it wasn't exactly a hiding place.
He wasn't expecting there to be so many bats however and he couldn't help but yelp in pain as they started to bite at him.
Marlin managed to eventually pull them off, but was feeling unexpectedly woozy as he stumbled out from the stall.
Although perhaps in some way it was a stroke of luck because as he stumbled he caught sight of a garland that someone had probably brought to decorate one of the stalls.
Murmuring a quiet apology Marlin grabbed at it and used it to hit out at another bat, because while he had briefly considered trying to power up - this was not the place to do it.
There was a figure nearby hunched on the ground (Jason) and Marlin thought he recognised him, although he had stumbled in their direction anyway because the bats were attacking and he wasn't about to leave whoever it was to them.
As it happened it turned out that he did recognise the other given that he had been at his stall not so long prior and Marlin could only that this didn't bode ill for Elaine or the other young male that had been with him as he woozily tried to give him a hand.

Arian is fighting
"I won't" Arian agreed as Breanna reached out to grab his hand before swinging his other hand out at another bat in an attempt to try and swat at it.
But whilst he had asked whether the pair of them should try to find cover, Arian hadn't seen anything that looked like it would be effective and powering up was kind of out of the question given how public the fair was.
He glanced around again, but the amount of bats were kind of making it hard to suss out anything useful - especially when a set of the things swung round and started to head in their direction.
"Bri watch out!" He called out in warning as he once again tried to ineffectively swing out at the bats, because whilst doing his best to fight them off seemed like it was kind of the only option right now - it certainly wasn't his preferred one.
He wasn't sure at which point he spotted the 'whack a mole' mallet but it didn't stop Arian from making a grab for it before trying to use it on yet another bat.

As Sean dropped to the ground, he started to feel dizzy. The many little wounds on his arms and neck were starting to hurt more and...ewww. A glance at his arms proved that the bats weren't just biting at him, they were digging their teeth in. He feebly swatted at them, then tried to crawl under the table where he was selling his plushies. It seemed the mostly likely shelter in sight.
Unfortunately, the tablecloth didn't reach the ground, and the bats had already found him, rendering the attempt to hide as transparent as if he'd just closed his eyes and said "I can't see you, so you can't see me!" So instead he curled up into a ball half-under the table, trying to cover his face with his arms.

When the guy from the accessories stall offered the use of his wares as weapons, Rana spared a moment to look over at him. He was swinging at the bats with what appeared to be a set of leathery wings. They looked extremely unwieldy, and she doubted she'd do any better with them than with her own two hands.
"No thanks, I'm good," she called to him, then turned her focus back to the bats. And found one of them was trying to dive-bomb her face. She ducked just in time to dodge it, letting it crash into the wall of the stall behind her. Then she gave it an uppercut to knock it away before standing back up.

Jessie nearly missed a bat when Lucas tried to pull her back into the minor protection of the booth tent. Instead of sending the bat to the ground she just clipped it and it flew off all squirrely like... or drunkenly... wonkey? How did one describe a bat that was weaving more than a blind octogenarian driving a car backwards on a crowded highway. She got distracted following the wibbly wobbly, timey wimey, flight of the bat, nearly got attacked by another bezerk bat but Lucas beat it back.
Apparently though the bats were more immune to their defences then Jessie would have ever figured, that or they were just really, really pissed because they never seemed to stop. They were relentless and mad, so very mad. So much so that it wasn't even possible to seek shelter in the tent, not that Jessie was going to leave Lucas out here beating the bats with just his hands... or her books. "Where are all these bloody bats coming from!" Jessie hissed as she swung at yet another bat. Her fun evening was not so fun now... she didn't even get to see what kind of books the library booth had, damn it!

Pat did his best to make his way through the crowd. He did his best to beat back any bat that came close, and for a while he didn't do too bad. He was able to keep them away from him, all the while shouting for people to take cover. He was at least until he saw a pair of teens being attacked. Ever the Don Quixote the redhead went running towards them shouting and making as much noise as possible, the better to be the target then the kids.
He smacked away the first two bats but the third one bit him... then the fourth and the fifth. For every bat he was able to hit another one scored a mark on him, drawing more than just blood from him. If the air wasn't full of screams and batty shrieks then it would be blue from all the cussing he was spitting out.
Knocking another bat away he glanced over at the kids, not even recognizing the young lady from a while ago. "Get out of here. Get under cover! ********!" That last curse was because one bat decided to dive bomb his head and Pat was barely able to duck in time. "Where is Alfred when you need him."
Each strike the bats scored against him had him feeling more and more unbalanced. Dizzy, lightheaded, and unfocused. It was harder to hit the attacking bats, which meant that more getting him but still he fought. Pat never did know when to quit.
While her hiding place had been good for a while eventually the bats seemed to have noticed her. Whether it was from her making some stupid noise or from there just being so many of them she couldn't tell and once they headed her way it didn't really matter.
She let out a rather undignified scream as one of the bats swiped at her with it's claws. She kicked at the thing, back against the stall she'd been hiding behind, and somehow managed to avoid it's teeth but not it's claws. Her jeans were quickly becoming 'artificially distressed' thanks to the creatures.
When she managed to land a rather impressive kick to the bat's face she scrambled up and took off looking for another place to hide or possibly something she could use to hit the things with. Neither option looked like it was going to work all that well but she didn't know what other options she had.

Odessa stood with her back pressed up against her stall, watching the swarm warily. Seriously, what on earth was going on? Bats did not behave like this! Did Destiny City have an awful bat problem that no one had mentioned to her before she moved? Ugh!
From her awning, another bat swooped down at her. Seeing it coming, she readied herself, and punched it firmly in it big, blood sucking mouth. It plummeted to the ground, where she kicked it for good measure. "Really, can you just not?" She kicked it once more, before deciding it was no longer a threat.

Well good golly, that went to hell very quickly! All Luca wanted was a plushie, but no, there had to be godawful angry bats thrown in...
The poor guy running the stall seemed to be having a hell of a time dealing with the bats. Luca took a moment to appraise the odds of getting caught powering up, and then immediately decided against it. Too many people, not enough places to hide, too much damage already done by the hell bats. She was going to have to fight them off on her own un-augmented strength, and that would be okay (sort of). She still kept up on her kickboxing classes when she could, after all.
Sucking in a deep breath, Luca began taking wild swings at the bats, and she seemed to be doing decent enough. There was a bit of an odd satisfaction to watching them fly from the impact, but there was no time to appreciate it. These bats meant business, and she did not want them in her belfry. "Hang in there!" she called to the guy who had been running the stall.

Saleh sighed as the situation went from nice enough to straight to hell. The bats had managed to get a few nibbles on him, and boy oh boy did that smart. He had a flash of inadequacy; he hadn't fought quite as much as some other lieutenants of his tenure had, and he wasn't sure how to begin fighting off these nasty bloodsuckers. The lady at the flower stall had the right idea, though; for a flower girl, she seemed to have the right idea. "You're not doing too bad!" he called out to her as he swung at a bat that flew right into his fist. "Knock as many down as you can... save the kicking for the ones who get back up."
He almost felt kind of cool in that moment. Almost.
