Hobbies:
Tabletop War Games || Jeanne's absolute favorite thing in the world is Warhammer. Specifically, Warhammer 40,000. While she likes and enjoys other war games (and collects and paints her own miniatures), Warhammer is her favorite and the one she comes back to time and time again. She has branched out a little from strict war games to general tabletop RPGs, starting with the Warhammer ones (she can't help it, the universe is her favorite), she prefers to command her little armies and sweep away her enemies. Other players often find her particularly ruthless playstyle a bit unsettling.

Live-Action War Games || As much as she loves war on the table, she loves it even more when she's in the midst of it. Jeanne is an avid participant in LARPs, especially combative ones. She has to purposely limit herself in these, so that she doesn't injure other players, and she finds that a little frustrating, but it's fun nonetheless! Plus, it's a good way to practice her Krav Maga outside class, even if she can't go all-out.

Krav Maga || Jeanne is a brown belt in Krav Maga, and has been studying since the age of seven when her mother decided that her daughter needed to learn to defend herself. She took to it extremely well - enough so that even though it's somewhat non-standard at her level, her teacher has allowed her to instruct some of the lower-level classes. She works mostly with other women who, like her, are learning it for self-defense. The focus on quick incapacitation and efficiency in takedowns is probably her favorite thing about this martial art, and she has displayed no interest in learning any other ones.

Knife Collecting || Jeanne loves knives. She really, really, really loves knives. In fact, she has a very large collection of all types and styles squirreled away in her bedroom. Her mother has given up trying to clear it out; Jeanne points out, rationally, that they can be used for self-defense, and many of the knives she owns are also very artistic. She regularly shops online for new ones, and most of her savings from her work as an instructor go to them.

Virtues:
Focused || If Jeanne wants something done, she gets it done. She doesn't allow herself to be distracted by anything short of what she considers a real emergency - or physical needs like food and sleep. While she desires to get things done, she doesn't want to sacrifice her health to do it!

Natural Leader || Jeanne does well in leadership positions, whether it be coordinating a group for a project or leading an assault in a LARP. She slips into the fore almost without thinking, and starts delegating like she's been doing it her whole life - but she's never a bullying or rude leader, preferring to persuade. She has a definite talent for talking people around to her point of view.

People Reader || Jeanne is good at reading people and recognizing their emotions. Even though she's not an emotional person herself, she can pick them out in others, and she often uses that to talk people around, but she also uses it to be a comforting presence in someone's life - or to pick out lies. Friends tend to admire this ability, and more than once she's been asked to play "living lie detector" for a friend who suspects a significant other of cheating.

Flaws:
Cold || Jeanne is very rarely emotional about anything, and this means she has trouble connecting with people. While she can fake it fairly well, especially when she needs to win someone over, Jeanne's emotions never quite ring real. This makes her offputting to deal with when she isn't trying to actively get someone to do what she wants. For the most part, it simply doesn't bother her - Jeanne doesn't feel like she needs people, so pushing them away isn't something she necessarily considers bad.

Cruel || Though she is generally quiet about it, Jeanne takes quite a bit of delight in hurting others. She channels it through fighting bullies and sometimes, in the evenings, wandering streets pretending to be drunk and waiting for someone to try and harass her. However, no matter what, it always slips and shows - she'll be a bit too nasty with someone who is supposed to be a friend, a bit too aggressive with a student she thinks can "take it," or a bit too menacing at the wrong time. It's led to her having a reputation as a fighter.

Results-Oriented || "The ends justify the means." This is Jeanne's life creed. She believes that no matter what you do to reach a goal, it is justified by the accomplishment. This means she is often willing to do things others would consider "extreme" or even "illegal" without batting an eyelash, and these tendencies tend to make people extremely wary of her.

Attacks:

Sailor Scout Attack: Penthesilea Call to Arms!
Penthesilea folds her hands in front of her as if she were praying and closes her eyes, speaking the name of the attack. Upon the last word, she opens her eyes and reaches out, and a longsword made of red energy appears in her hand. She slashes it towards one target within six feet of her and red energy flies from the blade towards the target. The force with which it strikes depends on how long the battle has been going on, from a slight smack to enough to knock someone off their feet or knock the wind out of them; it takes a full minute of fighting for it to "charge" to full power. Penthesilea can use this attack twice per battle.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Penthesilea Warpath!
Penthesilea folds her hands in front of her as if she were praying and closes her eyes, speaking the name of the attack. Upon the last word, she opens her eyes and and a b*****d sword made of red energy appears in her hand. She slashes it up to twice - both shots may be used on one target, or they may be split. Targets must be within six feet of her. Red energy flies from the blade towards the target(s). The force with which it strikes depends on how long the battle has been going on, from a slight smack to enough to knock someone off their feet or knock the wind out of them; at this stage, it takes 45 seconds of fighting to fully charge. Penthesilea can use this attack three times per battle.

Eternal Sailor Attack: Penthesilea Song of War!
Sailor Penthesilea raises her hands above her head, hands closed into fists and wrists crossed, and they glow red. She turns and begins to say the name of her attack, bringing her hands down, and upon the last word, stops, and a large broadsword made of red energy appears in her hands. She stabs it into the ground, and a barrier of red energy flies up at a radius of five feet. Everyone inside - allies, enemies, and Penthesilea included - is caught up in a vision of a war long past - any one that occurred earlier than 1000 AD - and any injuries experienced in the vision are reflected on their real bodies in lessened form (slashes become scratches, blunt or penetrating wounds are bruises, et cetera; there's a lot of room for player creativity in how the injuries translate and what the affected characters see!). Objectively the visions last for thirty seconds, but subjectively they can run for quite some time, and during the entire time frame, those experiencing the vision cannot move or react to the outside world - however, they are protected by Penthesilea's barrier. Penthesilea can use this attack twice per battle.

Personal Item: The Sash of Ortrera
Physical Description - A red sash, worn around Penthe's waist.
Benefit/Boost - Penthesilea wraps the sash aorund an external bleeding injury, and the sash will heal it, but leave a scar. The sash has a maximum of eight minutes of healing per night, and while less severe wounds may take only a minute to heal, more dangerous or deadly ones will take up to five. Neither Penthe nor the person being healed can move more than slightly during the process, or the magic will be interrupted.

In the Present:

271 Penthesilea is a large main belt asteroid that was discovered by Viktor Knorre on October 13, 1887 in Berlin. It was his last asteroid discovery. The asteroid was named after Penthesilea, the mythical Greek queen of the Amazons.

In the Past:

Plural/Possessive: Penthesilean

Major Imports: None - Penthesilea was mostly self-sufficient for food, clothing, et cetera

Culture:

Pethesileans were warriors, through and through. They were trained practically from birth to fight, and at age seven, every Penthesilean girl went to the agoge to be trained in military matters. She left at age fourteen, at which point she was considered an adult and fully capable of mastering herself.

The Senshi of Penthesilea went through the same process as every other girl, and was regularly identified during her agoge training. Traditionally, Sailor Penthesilea was Awakened as a chibi, and at age thirteen began training to complete the three Trials that would bond her fully to her planet and graduate her from Chibi to full Senshi. These Trials also allowed her access to the Great Library, Great Hospital, and eventually the Pantheon (though these bans were purely social in the past, they are enforced by magic in the present). Other girls in the agoge were completely forbidden from those places until their graduation.

Economy: Many Penthesileans worked as mercenaries, and there were several legendary bands that originated from the planet. Beyond that, Penthesilea was primarily self-sufficient, and did very little trade. Though they had much political and diplomatic contact with the outside world, they were a proud and fierce people who preferred to create what they needed from their own resources.

Politics: Penthesilea was strictly matriarchal - men held no positions of power in their government. The major leaders were the Triad - the Matriarch, a political leader; the High Priestess, a religious leader, and the Senshi, expected to be the high general of Penthesilea's armies, should they ever go to war. It was essentially a meritocracy, though changes of leadership (usually only changes of Matriarch, as the High Priestess and Senshi were considered sacred) were often bloody.

Religion: Penthesileans were polytheist, with a number of goddesses (and a very few male gods) for a wide variety of areas. Penthesilean worship was a simple thing - most maintained a shrine in their homes, and brought small tribute to the Goddesses daily. There were festivals at the changing of the seasons, after large military victories, and when a new Matriarch, High Priestess, or Senshi rose to power.

Major Pantheon:
Elgar'nan - Goddess of war and vengeance, called the All-Father (despite her gender), a fierce and powerful woman who along with Mythal, her bride, created Penthesilea and its peoples.
Mythal - Goddess of protection and love, called the All-Mother, gentle next to Elgar'nan's ferocity, helped her bride create Penthesilea and is peoples.
Dirthamen - Goddess of secrets, the protector of plans, and the patron of tacticians.
Falon'Din - Goddess of the dead, guided the dead to their eternal rest.
Andruil - Goddess of the hunt, taught Penthesileans mastery over the beasts of their world.
Sylaise - Goddess of the hearth and healing, taught Penthesileans the importance of home and family, as well as medicine. Most Penthesilean homes had a small shrine to her.
Ghilan'nain - Goddess of nature and the harvest, also associated (alongside Mythal) with fertility, taught Penthesileans farming techniques and mastery over their land.
June - Goddess of crafts and building, worked in concert with Ghilan'nain and Andruil to create the necessary tools for the harvest and the hunt, and taught them craft of all sorts from sewing to pottery.
Fen'harel - Goddess of betrayal, very rarely honored in a straightforward way - instead, offerings are made to her to protect from treason, and those who die traitors are said to go to her for their punishment.

Vallaslin:

When a Penthesilean proved herself - usually in war, but sometimes outside it - she would receive vallaslin ("blood-writing") tattoos commemorating her deeds. Each type of vallaslin honored a particular god, associated with the type of deed she had performed, and sometimes more than one type was combined to honor a particular deed. There is no vallaslin for Fen'harel, as there is no glory in betrayal.

Although those examples are facial only, vallaslin could be applied over the entire body - the more vallaslin a Penthesilean had, the more honored she was. It was often designed to accentuate scars earned while performing the valorous deeds that earned it.

Some examples of deeds that would earn a particular type of vallaslin:

Elgar'nan - Glory of the most straightforward type - led a successful assault, captured an important landmark, slayed a large number of enemies.
Mythal - Glory in protection - took a wound to protect another soldier, held the line to cover a retreat. Many vallaslin to Mythal are applied as part of a funeral ceremony.
Dirthamen - Glory in cleverness - created and executed a particularly excellent tactic, outsmarted the enemy, won an intelligence victory.
Falon'Din - Glory in death - protected the dead on the battlefield, slayed
Andruil - Glory in hunting - led a guerrilla assault, brought back a particularly important prisoner of war, brought back a particularly large and dangerous hunting prize.
Sylaise - Glory off the battlefield - worked tirelessly as a field nurse, saved another soldier's life through medicine, helped evacuate civilians.
Ghilan'nain - Glory in nature - often applied in concert with Dirthanmen vallaslin - clever use of the landscape, acquisition of useful food and supplies, particularly good harvest technique.
June - Glory in design - created a new weapon, used an old one in a clever way, demonstrated excellence in crafting.

Important Locations:
Telnarquel - Penthesilea's only major city, divided into three sections by massive walls named after Penthesilean goddesses. The walls were designed to be easily defensible, sohuld an attack come.
Wall Ghilan'nain - The outermost wall of Telnarquel, in which much of Penthesilea's farming and agriculture is contained
Wall June - The middle wall of Telnarquel, populated mostly by merchants and craftsfolk.
Wall Elgar'nan - The central wall of Telnarquel, where the most important Penthesilean structure were contained, including the Great Library, the Pantheon, the Colosseum, and the Great Hospital.
Great Library of Telnarquel - A massive library, inside which were thousands of books on Penthesilean and galactic history, philosophy, military strategy and tactics, cartography, geography, law, and any number of other subjects. It was surprisingly well-maintained and expansive.
Great Hospital of Telnarquel - A medical center developed to house as many of the people of Penthesilea as possible. Its full facilities were rarely needed.
Pantheon - A grand temple, in which all of Penthesilea's major gods were honored. In the catacombs below were the graves of Penthesilean matriarchs, Senshi, and High Priestesses.
Colosseum - A rand structure similar to the one in Rome on Earth, and with a similar purpose. Blood sport was popular entertainment on Penthesilea, and a year or two fighting in the Colosseum was considered practically a requirement for a girl who aspired to high office in the military.
Andruil's Wood - The jungle that surrounded Telnarquel; many small villages existed within its woods.
River Ashara - The largest river on Penthesilea and its main water source and speediest transportation option. It connects most of Penthesilea's major cities, including Telnarquel.
Everspire Mountains - The major geological feature of Penthesilea; Andruil's Wood is in the valley surrounded by these peaks, and they also contain the headwaters of the River Ashara.
Mythal's Chalice - A large lake in the Everspire Mountains, and the source of the River Ashara.

Virtues:

Strategist || Despite her apparent hot temper and quick rage, Eve had a mind for military strategy, honed as part of her training as the Senshi of Penthesilea and therefore the High Commander of her armies. She was very good at both big and small-picture analysis, and often surprised her opponents with her knowledge and understanding of military strategy and ability to adapt her plans on the fly.

Courageous || While Eve was at first afraid of her role as Senshi and commander, she grew to overcome her fear - and to overcome most fears. There was very little she would shy away from, and while she wasn't foolish, she certainly displayed a lot of heart.

Determinator || As a general, Eve had a fair knowledge of "when to fold 'em," when it was best to retreat and return to fight another day. However, when it was her fighting on her own, or her attempting to achieve a goal, absolutely nothing would stand in her way. Eve had been known to fight through injuries that would put down a lesser warrior, and to find victory in even the jaws of final defeat. Her determination was legendary and well-known.

Flaws:

Hot-Tempered || Eve had very little hold on her rages. She ran hot, all the time, and though that passionate fire made her a good fighter, it made her a fairly poor diplomat. Though she rarely held grudges and her rages cooled quickly, her tendency to fly off the handle made her seem unreliable and inflexible.

Reckless || As a general, Eve was careful with her troops' lives. As a fighter, she was not careful with her own. Many times, she was admonished for her failure to consider her personal safety in a plan, and her commanders and personal guard found their hands full keeping their Senshi alive given her insistence on always fighting on the front line and tendency to be severely injured.

Undiplomatic || Eve's hot temper wasn't the only thing that got her in trouble. She was blunt and very rarely had time or consideration for soft words, and so she had a talent for offending allies. While many of her people admired her straightforward attitude, her harsh tongue meant that she was rarely allowed into any kind of negotiations. Ever.

Important Relationships:

Andromache - NPC, the head of the agoge while Evadne was there. A warm, motherly woman, but a skilled fighter and stern trainer when necessary.
