The night was still young, he told himself, as he continued his patrol. He had been circling the business district for quite some time now, searching for a strong Negaverse aura, looking for a particular officer so that he could put a certain matter to rest, but thus far, he had been striking out. Sarras, Squire of the Cosmos and self-proclaimed lone wolf, was on a mission, and tonight looked as though it was going to be another bust, unfortunately for him. Not a single Chaotic aura in the area!

At first, he wasn't too upset over the matter. After all, he reminded himself that the night was still young and certain shops hadn't closed yet, so there were still potential victims in the streets that could serve as bait for a murderous and opportunistic Negaverse officer. It might have been wrong for the guard dog to use the sheep as bait to lure out the hungry wolves, but it wasn't as though Sarras' desire for revenge wouldn't have been in their best interests. If they were in danger at the general's hands, he would rescue them... by killing the wolf. That's what he told himself...

However, as time progressed, he was growing more, and more impatient. It wasn't even that HE didn't even show, but no one seemed to. No Chaos aura, no thieves, no thugs. It was strange not to see any of that roaming around, but what did he care for the petty thief? No Chaos aura meant that he wasn't here, and he was simply wasting his time. Letting out a frustrated growl, the Cosmos squire turned around and kicked the potted plant that was left on top the rooftop of the diner he was on. "Son of a b***h!"

A no-show... it would figure! Now what was he to do with this pent up rage?

Figured the two could spar for a bit. Blow off some steam! Sarras needs some humbling.

Penthesilea only occasionally ventured out of her self-designated patrol area, and usually that was because she was meeting someone. Tonight that was not the case, and she was venturing to venture rather than for a greater purpose. She had hoped to track Chaos auras - or at least dumb thugs - and she was pretty damn disappointed when it didn't work out that way.

So instead she tracked down the lone Order aura in the area, hopping from roof to roof until she landed on the diner just in time to see him swear and kick a potted plant. She raised an eyebrow, putting her hands in her hips.

"Well that ain't productive," she said, a heavy layering of sarcasm in her voice. It was an effort not to be amused by his rather ridiculous outfit, but then - Knights.

He was too angry to have noticed the Super's arrival, and even if he had, he probably wouldn't have cared. Her aura shone with Order energy and thus registered as a solid 'who gives a crap' on his list of priorities. The kick to the potted plant wasn't nearly as satisfying as he had hoped it'd be, and her comment certainly didn't help. He shot a glare towards her, straightening up if only to get a better look at her from this angle. He sneered, but nothing more. He wanted to combat her sarcasm but he was ashamed to admit that he lacked the ability to some up with anything even remotely worthy.

From this angle, he could see if she was smiling or mocking him, so he figured he'd go in to get a better look, so that he could try and wipe that smirk off her face. He knew he was being far too aggressive for his own good, but sometimes it was just too much effort to check himself, and he was certain that this senshi could have held her own just well enough. The first thing he noticed when he was close enough were the scars that decorated her body and how she didn't seem bothered by them being exposed, and whatever anger he might have been building up against her had turned into silent admiration. She one's seen some battles.

"I'd rather be kicking officer's asses, but figures they're in hiding." He said, anger still weighing down his voice but it wasn't directed at her in the least. "Guessin' you're not finding much luck either?"

Penthesilea just gave him a thoroughly bemused smirk. Not that she didn't sympathize with his frustration - quite the opposite, quiet nights were awful when she'd wound herself up for combat - but that didn't make it not sort of funny to see someone else just as irritated as she was. And besides, his accent was familiar and comforting, in an odd way. Not Louisiana, not home - but close. Texas, she guessed, and certainly much closer to what she was used to hearing than the voices around here.

"Ain't seen nothin' since I set out tonight. It's damn frustratin'. Can't even have th'courtesy t'be out when we're lookin' for them." She let out a very overblown, very fake sigh, and then she tilted her head to the side and considered for a moment.

"Why don't we try doin' somethin' more productive than chasin' ghosts? A little friendly combat practice?"

She wasn't the only one that noted the took notice of the other's accent, and there was always something intriguing about a thick Cajun accent that appeased Sarras. Maybe it reminded him of home- New Orleans was well within a day's drive from Sugarland and made a great weekend vacation. It also made him hungry, but he forced the notion down. Like hell he'd be getting food in this get up.

At this point he was just letting her talk, more listening to the tone of her voice and the fluctuations of her accent than the words themselves, however the moment she mentioned the words 'combat' and 'practice', she had his complete and undivided attention.

"Sounds like music to my ears. You look battle harden, anyway. Let's go... ladies first."

Penthesilea laughed. Him asking her to start things off was probably not the best idea - but then, she knew she didn't look threatening. She was small and probably looked like anything but a threat.

She'd just have to show him that he was wrong.

"That's perfectly alright with me," she said, and she attacked swiftly - moving in close and leading with her elbow. She was holding back, some, at least on the amount of force she was using, but her technique was all about swift strikes and quick takedowns.

He had no idea if he had insulted her or not, and if she made a point to tell him so, then he probably wouldn't have cared in the least. If he had come off as mocking or belittling, then he'd figured it'd work as a great motivation to prove him wrong. Had she done the same with his attire, then he would have probably let her have it.

He could be a gentlemen, but he also believed in equality. True equality, much to the dismay of some feminazis that gave real feminist a bad name.

She came in with an elbow and his first reaction was to avoid it, stepping back and attempting a swing of his own, this time taking full advantage of the range in his arms and aiming to hit her with his fist instead. Immediately he could hear a tear in his fabric, but that didn't stop him. He only hoped it was in the sleeve area...

Penthesilea was mostly just delighted that she had someone willing to take her on - and he was obviously not holding back. That was a thrill.

She brought up her hand to catch the punch, and pushed back, a fierce, delighted fire in her eyes. "Yer good," she complimented, "specially for someone dressed so impractical." It was bundled up in the complement. Being able to fight in an outfit that ridiculous was an accomplishment.

He wasn't angry that she had caught his punch. That meant that she was just about as touch and ornery as she looked and that she knew her stuff, which was always a good sign in his allies. Nothing Sarras hated more than a damsel or whatever the male equivalent of that would be in distress.

He wasn't even angry that he had torn the seams on the sleeves of his outfit- what did he care? It gave him more room to maneuver around and offered him more flexibility. If he could fight in the nude, he would gladly do so.

What angered him, however, was her jab at his outfit, and it made his expression go from his default glower to a downright scowl. He didn't realize the true meaning behind the statement, nor would he ask her to enlighten him. He went for another jab with his free hand, ignoring the ripping sound and going straight for her face.

No one talked s**t about his outfit but him!

Pissing off her opponents was something of a way of life for Penthe. It always sort of pleased her when they got angry - even if this time she really hadn't intended it. Let him go at her harder for his rage, and maybe for a little, they'd treat each other like enemies instead of friendly sparring partners.

There was, of course, something she could aim for that would end the fight rather swiftly (and it wasn't like she gave two ******** about sportsmanship) but that seemed a bit out of line, here. So instead she let go of his hand and twisted away from the jab at her face - which still managed to get her cheek - and swung her leg around, aiming a kick at his side.

Had he gone in with a clear head, he might have realized his mistake and how easily she could have capitalized on it, but there were few times when Sarras simply didn't try. Now was one of them. The feel of his fist hitting her cheek brought a smile to his face, though he was certain that if anyone saw it they might have been utterly disgusted with him, but again, he did not care.

There were few things in the world that was more satisfying than a good ol' punch to the face, though the leg at his side served well in grounding him back to reality. He took the blow, right in the hip, and he let out a low gasp before backing away, hoping that his cursing was the only thing she heard. "Sonofabitch, that's smart. You got strong legs..."

Penthe skipped back, an expression of absolute glee on her face. She dusted herself off - not that there was really any dust, but it felt good.

"Seven years'a Krav Maga. I'm trained in th'art of ********' people up as hard an' fast as I can," she said, which probably was something she sohuld have revealed before challenging him to a spar, but there it was. "It's come in a lotta handy." To say the least.

"Krav Maga? s**t... should have known better," Sarras said, rubbing the area she kicked and straightening up, despite the pain he felt. He wasn't exaggerating in the least. She kicked, hard, and he was not expecting it. She might have even bruised his lip, but the way he held himself defied this, at least until she wasn't looking. It'd definitely need to ice that when he got home... "Guess I should be lucky it was just my lip and not elsewhere... though on that note, goin' to do the smart thing and call it a night."

If only because he could feel his shirt beginning to droop, and she really did let him have it with that kick. The worst part was he suspected she was holding back... with legs like those, it was no wonder youma and officers of the Negaverse were avoiding her.

"Name's Sarras, if you ever want to spar again."

Penthe gave him a surprisingly polite bow, and flipped her hair back over her shoulder. "A girl's gotta take care'a herself," she said, as if that provided an explanation for why she had been studying a violent martial art since she was a young child.

"Penthesilea." She said, and then she turned. "You get that checked out, an' find me again if ya want a sparrin' or a huntin' partner, yeah?" She said, and then she started heading off.

Even if she hadn't found an officer, it had been a good evening.
