Fandom -- for as long as she’s known how to use the internet, Ilse has been involved in fandom, especially cosplay, with a big surge in activity starting in her teen years. A former pageant princess as a child, the concept of dressing up and getting on a stage to win prizes is nothing new to her, though in a whole new context. Ilse’s primary fandoms are video game/mmo ones, such as Umineko (though that’s more along the lines of ‘visual novel’), though she also follows some musical fandoms such as the fantasy band Sound Horizon.

Internet arguments -- Ilse lives for fandom drama, having her own specific opinions and headcanons, and frequently gets into heated arguments online about them. She’s a stickler for following the lore and Word of God when it suits her, and following her own personal contradictory headcanons herself. Oftentimes, Ilse can be found being the one starting the drama, and other times just enjoys sitting back and enjoying the dumpster fire she may or may not have contributed to.

Skip soar or disband -- From childhood to even well into her college years, Ilse is into video games, especially MMOs, but also Co-op games in general. She’s something of a mid-to-hardcore raider, though recent times have found her without a permanent raid group, leaving her to have to deal with the horrors that raiding with PUGs can be. Being the sort of person who strives to be the top percent... well, everything, Ilse has little patience for newbies or those who are underperforming, and is quick to kick and blacklist those who are dragging the party down. It could be said that she’s one of those ‘toxic’ players, but Ilse is always quick to claim that that couldn’t possibly be her, and that people should just… y’know, ‘git gud’?




Virtues:

Assertive -- Once Ilse has her mind set on something, she'll stop at nothing to achieve her goals. She is bold and assertive, knowing how to make her presence known, and won’t stop until all eyes are on her. In order to uphold and maintain such a high standing in society as Ilse’s family does, one must maintain a certain level of aggressiveness, she feels.

Outspoken -- Ilse is not afraid to voice her opinions. Ilse is not afraid to speak her mind, and won’t be spoken over or dismissed by those who don’t want to hear it. She’s very candid and straight-forward, and does not hesitate to offer criticism, good or bad. Other people may not want to hear it, but she won’t be deterred or otherwise stopped from speaking out.

Self-confident -- Ilse prides herself on being self-sufficient, independent and not needing to rely on anyone. She is absolutely confident in herself, perhaps to the point of being overly confident, and does not see herself as capable of possibly ever being wrong at all. If she believes she can do something, then she'll definitely be able to do it without a problem, and no obstacle is too large or hurdle too high to cross over. She will win, because she has absolute faith in herself.

Flaws:

Disagreeable -- Ilse is an opinionated person, and the kind of opinionated person that’s passionate enough about their (wrong) opinions that they become highly argumentative about dissenting opinions, only wanting to hear those that agree with her own personal views. Being raised a certain way has led to her keeping a circle of friends that are mostly a personal echo chamber, ‘yes men’ (or women, in this case), who share her very narrow worldviews.

Pride and arrogance -- Ilse thinks very highly of herself, which comes as no surprise perhaps given her upbringing. Ilse is prideful and unashamed to say such- she holds herself to a high standard, and believes herself to be better than her peers- especially those of a lower social status than her. She’s arrogant and conceited, almost like one would expect the stereotypical rich girl in fiction to act like, and does not appreciate attempts to ‘knock her down a peg’, or otherwise make her look bad. Likewise, on the rare event that she does end up in a situation where her pride is hurt, Ilse has a tendency to get rather angry about it, and refuses to accept the outcome, should it be of her own doing.

Selfish -- Growing up as the only child in a rich family, Ilse has been used to having everything handed to her whenever she wants it, without having to do anything for it or pay anything, or even having to wait for it to happen. She’s had all her needs taken care of for free, and even as an adult, Ilse has had her family pay her way through anything and everything. Ilse has never had to want for anything- it just comes to her without having to ask twice. This kind of spoiling and pampering has led her to become a very self-centred and selfish person, who refuses to compromise when things don’t just immediately go her way and people don’t immediately acquiesce to her demands. As such, this has led to the occasional conflict- especially when it comes to certain powered duties as Deneb, though even to this day, she still refuses to understand why things don’t always go this way.
