It really was useful, wasn't it, that she'd started trying to get to know the Mauvians who were sometimes in Negaspace a little better. Having to use Faustite's cat had been embarrassing enough for Beatrix's promotion; Chrysocolla wasn't going to deal with that again if it meant she had to find and recruit some random Mauvian off the street by herself. It hadn't come to that, though!
So this time it was Bellalunae, who seemed like she was dutiful enough. It didn't seem as if kitten status really meant much for Mauvians except that some of the kittens were a little stupid, so she wouldn't hold it against the girl; lots of the time Chrys herself was a little stupid, but she got on just fine. The cat was allowed to be wherever in the room she wanted, but she'd already had it explained to her what needed to happen; as long as she did that and didn't make Chrys look bad, it was fine.
There was a system to these meetings by now, and it seemed to work. Tug at Deneb's power just a little - let her know she had to come, it was not optional - and then give her five to ten minutes to get somewhere where she could disappear for a bit. That was relevant to people, probably.
And why would Deneb need to know why she was wanted? That wasn't important to her. Her job was to be here. Chrysocolla wasn't going to personally oversee her day-to-day work, and that in and of itself was a luxury of trust.
Anyway. She'd been given that period of warning, so now Chrysocolla focused on that sliver of power and pulled, summoning Deneb to her office. This did call for a little more strictness than Beatrix had, but that was fine. It came easier, even. "I'm not going to waste your time. You're here because you've showed you're responsible enough for more power."

It had been some time since Deneb had accepted Chrysacolla's offer of becoming her superior office, an offer that Deneb had accepted possibly for a multitude of reasons in private, though the only one she would ever confess out loud was 'well, if you're offering', or, 'put your money where your mouth is', so to speak. She'd done well enough to keep out of trouble just by going around on her own and collecting energy, save for that one time, but it did help to have someone to officially report to, simply for the sake of keeping unwanted attention away from her. As long as she was otherwise left alone if she wasn't explicitly needed, then Deneb was fine with maintaining the status quo. What she hadn't particularly counted on was this meant that Chrys could call upon her by teleporting her to the eternal corrupt, something that proved to be a massive inconvenience, as Roberia had been on her way to a local fan meetup when she received the summons. That the summons wasn't one that she could opt-out of made it all the more annoying, and the young woman found herself with only minutes to spare to find somewhere where she could slip away to unnoticed, so no one would see her simply straight up vanish. Whatever the occasion, she didn't know, but Roberia had hoped that Chrys had a good reason for pulling her away like this. When she appeared in Chrys' office, Deneb was about to question the reason for the summons when her 'General' beat her to it. Annoyance quickly faded away into pleasentry, as she realized what was happening, eyeing the Mauvian nearby and putting the pieces together. More power, Chrysacolla said, and while Deneb couldn't remember her life pre-corruption, there was something about those words that felt like they had been a long time coming, and further cemented the idea that whatever her reasons for joining the Negaverse were, it was surely to provide her with what the White Moon could not. "A promotion," Deneb repeated, doing her best to mask the eagerness in her voice.

Bellalunae had been hiding in the shadows of the room. She was waiting till things started up. Since it was always good to know who she was in the presence of before speaking. She watched carefully as the conversation unfolded, listening attentively to the words being spoken. She was prepared to make her presence known once she felt the time was right. She waited patiently, until the right moment. Since she knew she had to be here, and honestly she didn't have much else to do today. So here she is - front and center. Reporting for duty! Slowly she came out of the shadows and stretched her small black paws. She listened to the whole of the conversation before she spoke. "I'm here as you requested." She smiled the best she could since she figured she was here for a good reason. Some how her smile always came out a little haunted. She figured that was part of being a black cat and had learned to embrace these things about herself. She slowly made her way over to them, her steps sure and quiet. She gave a small nod of her head and spoke in a soft, almost childlike voice. "It's a pleasure to be of service at this glorious moment." She took a small bow before waiting for her orders. She sounded like one of the characters in her novel, but her demeanor was anything but that. Her gaze was intense and focused, and her words carried an air of showing she was ready for the task ahead. Daekie Thank you for starting. Hope this works. Sorry for the wait. =)

Sometimes she had to wonder over how it really was this simple. The Negaverse had seemed so big and frightening and impenetrable, once. It was still pretty mysterious in a lot of places - but it was this simple, to get Richel a promotion, and to take credit for it. It made her want to get more senshi under her wing. But that, Chrysocolla assumed, was how you ended up with people who had teams so big they couldn't personally overview them anymore. So messy! She would never.
Mmh, as a Super there'd be more attention on the girl, though. Any poor behavior on her part would look like Chrysocolla was a bad General. There would be some time for that later, after; now that you have this mark of experience, if you embarrass me, you will suffer for it, and if you can't hold your own in a fight, that's just another way of embarrassing me; I'm not going to let you be like other Senshi and never learn how to fight with your fists. It wouldn't be good if she came on too strong all at once. She just needed to weaponize this promotion, first off.
You earned this under me and because of me. Insinuations were so frustrating to layer into her demeanor. They were so subtle.
"I don't think I need to say it a second time," she remarked mildly, "or if I did I'd start doubting you. But yes. You've done your job well, and you've proved you're responsible enough to handle more power; your starseed is strong enough to handle it now."
It'd been a stray thought at the back of her mind since they'd met. Hadn't she known Deneb before? Just once, probably. But Chrysocolla's memory was very good, especially when it came to uniforms and faces and names. It must have been some time ago, and even back then she'd still been weak. If it was some intrinsic issue with Richel herself... maybe it'd been fixed by recruitment. It was beyond Chrysocolla's purview.
"Your magic will get stronger, and you'll be able to teleport. And if you impress me enough, if I find some other recruit, maybe I'll have you teach them the lay of the land. Can you give Bellalunae your transformation pen, please?" It was not a request. Like everything else, it was an order, even if she was nice about it.

"Of course," Deneb said simply, and produced her pen, handing it to the corrupt Mauvian. She didn't need to be told twice; she would prove she could follow orders and be trusted with this power that she had been granted... and this upgrade that she had earned. From there, the only thing to do was to watch and wait, but Deneb would prove to both herself and to her General that she wouldn't disappoint, and that this was the right choice to make. Now, of course, this could have come much much sooner, but just how long had Deneb been a senshi for, anyway? She had forgotten, to be honest, along with everything else of her old life.

Bellalunae grabbed the pen from Deneb's hand and took a breath. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small Chaos crystal. Luckily she had been handed the crystal before the meetup. This made it easier for her to begin the upgrade. In one hand she now held the crystal and the other the pen. "I shall begin," she said politely as she began to siphon more Chaos into the Senshi’s starseed with the crystal. While at the same time she also upgraded Deneb's Henshin Pen. She watched as the power from the crystal faded to nothing. As soon as the glowing stopped she knew she had finished siphoning all the chaos she could into the starseed and with that the upgrade was complete. She carefully put the crystal away and then held out Deneb her Henshin Pen to grab. "Congratulations on your new power. I hope you enjoy it," she said with a smile as she waited to see if she was needed any longer. Since she didn't want to leave the room too early after all. But overall she had completed her objective as she was told to. And thankfully it went off without a hitch or at least she thought it had.
