[Caerwyn Hesperos: 9]
Caerwyn desperately, desperately wished he hadn't decided to go out alone.
It had seemed like a fine idea. He'd expected to get to go for a walk, spend a little time wandering around, do a bit of patrolling, so on and so forth. He'd wandered near where the charity ball was happening, and paused by a window to watch through it--he'd loved to have attended, but there was no way he could have gotten dressed up as fancy as was necessary for a proper ball, never mind getting tickets.
And then everything had gone sideways, and he was suddenly in a strange world, where everything had gone a little odd, and there were, of all things, robots.
He was glad his wits were firmly about him, because he whirled, and started running, easily staying at the front of the fleeing crowd.

[Mirielle Lacroix: 6]
It had been, in Amazonite's opinion, a lovely night for a walk. She hadn't really been paying attention to where she wandered, she'd just sort of followed what felt like the best path. She'd get back home eventually; a quick end-of-night teleport would get her there, if nothing else.
It seemed prudent, eventually, to make her way over towards the Charity Ball; she'd seen posters and advertisements for it quite a bit throughout the Star Festival, and it seemed an obvious place to drain. Find a place to lurk and pull a little from exiting guests, get energy, profit.
She wished desperately it had gone that way. It did not.
Instead, Amazinite felt a sudden wind rustle her hair, and then the next thing she knew, reality was going a bit twisty--and when it untwisted, she was Mirielle again, in her ordinary civilian clothes, and she was in some cheesy 50s B-movie, with bizarre attacking robots.
Were she Amazonite, she might have stood and fought--but she wasn't, and besides that, there was no resisting the crowd that swept her up and pushed her onwards and away from them. She could feel people bumping and shoving her around, and she wanted to curse them out, but there was no time--just time to run.

[Abigail Oxton: 7]
It had been a brilliant plan, Abbie thought. Get a pretty dress, go to the charity ball, mingle with the glitterati, "borrow" a few wallets from people who weren't careful about where they put them. Sure, she had a relatively steady job now, but a girl could always use a couple extra bucks, especially when her salary relied heavily on earned tips.
Beneficially enough, she'd even spotted a few friends, and she'd meant to find Kailey and Lulu (and probably Hania, the scampy little cat, because if the others were here, he near on certainly was too) and have a chat, but alas, that was not to be.
What was to be was the sudden flicker of the lights, and then a flicker back on to reveal a strange new place.
"Oh, hell," Abbie whispered, staring at the robots descending upon her and the rest of the party. She inhaled sharply and whirled around, glad she was used to running in heels. She ended up in the middle of the pack, and while it meant she took a bit of a jostling, that was a huge relief. At least she was in...less danger, hopefully!

Jericho Total 2
Melinda and Daniel had insisted that he attend the event with them, even going so far as to mention how his workplace, and theirs respectively, had been among those to donate various goods and coupons for services to the charity auctions. He relented easily enough, growing more used to the lavish events they enjoyed, and seemed to enjoy bringing him along on. The whole star theme was cute, and once at the venue, he could see how a number of people did a fair job at incorporating it in tasteful ways.
Cabhan's, though, was obnoxiously bright, but Melinda had adored his outfit when the two of them had gotten out of Jericho's car to meet her and Daniel. He'd been unable to make an honest comment since.
But his flatmate was behaving himself, which Jericho appreciated, and genuinely was relieved to see the smaller young man out and about in public. Instead of just tucked away on his computer, or only out for patrols. Since more or less taking him underwing, and officially being slated as the corrupt's superior officer, Jericho had it a growing need to start enforcing some actual socialization out of the youth.
Though, he should have figured a social gathering wouldn't turn out well, not in this city.
The flashing lights were enough to make him stand from the table he was seated at with his family, trying to search for his charge when his vision blurred and faltered, clearing only for him to find himself in some other, highly dated city. Though he found Cabhan, he couldn't locate Melinda or Daniel, something that became all the more concerning as retro robot soldiers began to march through the streets. People screamed and ran, reminding him of some old-time movie--and indeed, Cabhan provided some reference he had no idea about--before Jericho shoved him further through the crowd and tried to double-back.
His search turned up empty, and he wondered if perhaps they hadn't been brought with them, or perhaps were elsewhere further up in the crowd. His head ached, making him hiss and grit his teeth as he made his way after the lot to the odd passage down the road.

Kailey Total 3
Had she really wanted to go? Not really. She had a night off, and the thought of spending it spending a lot of money she barely had was... not entirely appealing. Nor was dealing with the insufferable rich that she already dealt with at her job. Nah. While the festival was a plus to her, and she was happy to go to any of their little events, the whole ball and charity thing was a big red bzzzt for her.
Yet. Somehow. "Hania? Hania?!" Here she was, stuck not in the room where the event was being held, but in some other weird a** city, with people wearing outfits from the freaking 50s running from reto robots. Robots that had low, pulsing sounds that made her head feel like it was about to split open. Freaking great. Her boots thudded hard against the ground, the dark shorts and galaxy print crop top a quick thing she'd tossed on to look the part but... yeah no. Not... really formal, not was it? She more just got in because it was raining and Hania had sent a message out he was patrolling in the area, so why not? Hell, she kinda figured they could grab some free food, maybe enjoy some music and relax.
But this wasn't where she figured any of them would be. Flashes of familiar faces in the swarming crowds made her perk, and though vertically challenged, she began to shove her way past others as she shouted, "Lulu, Abbie! Hey, Hani! The ******** is all this?"

Jade rolls 5This evening, it had started so well. The elegant atmosphere of fine social events like galas was something Jade had always approciated. Not only that, she had been lucky enough to meet a new acquaintance, a fashion designer from California. The guy had made quite impression on her. Anyone who knew Jade could tell it was a feat in itself, for Jade was a lady with high standards. But then there was crowd, and blackout (apparently) and suddenly they were sucked into an old fashioned movie it seemed. Old fashioned movie with a horror genre, or at least it felt like it. For the first time of the evening she had regrets for wearing kimono tonight. She was well trained for many kind of activities when wearing a kimono, like walking right, performing tea ceremonies, even handling a small tea shop… But running in kimono.. It was not one of them. Indigo_Plateau For mention, and I hope you don't mind. I assumed things. Let me know if you want me to change anything. If you want, they can find each other again later. Aliseanne Laenuleil total: 8Alise wasn't a fan of fancy balls, charity or no, and thus she had declined to attend, having better things to do, like being a menace to society, as usual. It wasn't that she didn't like big parties, of course, and obviously, the benefit and ball were being held for a good cause, but it was too close to the kind of things her mother expected her to participate in as part of Being a Proper Lady, and thus, Alise preferred to always do the opposite of what her mom wanted. Instead, she had spent the day hanging out with Etoile, doing... things, but mostly taking advantage of Etoile's new civilian glamour to go on a sweets sampling spree, with the two going to and fro the different bakeries and cafes around Destiny City, trying the different sweets and pastries they had to offer. Of course, then it had started raining, and Etoile's magic had run out, and she had returned to being a small cat, and so the two had parted ways. Although she had had no plans of attending the charity ball or benefit, Alise somehow had... ironically ended up in the area when things started to go down. Maybe she shouldn't have been surprised, and to be honest, the teen wasn't too terribly shocked at the change in scenery, having experience with a similarly happening event a couple of years back, but it was a bit of an inconvenience in this case, seeing as she wasn't powered up this time around. The scenery looked like something out of an old movie, or maybe more like that one videogame Alise had seen LPs of once, the one with the underwater city and stuff, only, like, not underwater. And with more robots, apparently. Huh. Alise wasn't really sure what the situation was, in terms of events currently unfolding, but people were running from robots, and a white static seemed to be trailing close behind, devouring everything it touched. The general consensus seemed to be to run, and thus, run she did, although in any other circumstances, she'd have wanted to stick around to try fighting the robots. If only she had been powered up!

Morie Shimotsuki total: 3Hakodate had been minding her own business. As Morie, she had initially purchased a ticket for the charity benefit, even though she hadn't really planned on bidding on any items, but things had come up, and so she had gifted her ticket to a friend. Instead, as Page Hakodate, Morie had been investigating something when she had been pulled into the chaos currently unfolding. It was like something out of an old movie, if it weren't for the almost comical-looking robots currently chasing the stampeding civilians. Unfortunately, she didn't get much time to think about it, as Morie, now powerless, got caught up in the rush, trying to get ahead of the crowd as they pushed and elbowed her out of their way, wanting to get away from the robots, and... whatever that was that was swallowing up the scenery behind them. She didn't really know what was going on, and hadn't really gotten time to figure things out. What Morie did know, though, was that she needed to get away from these robots, put some distance between her and them, before she got a headache from the sounds they were emitting. Now, if only she could stop being pushed and shoved by the townspeople.

Anming Lin total: 2Anming had only just arrived to the benefit, late and reluctant as it was. She hadn't really planned on attending, but a friend of a friend hadn't been able to go, and thus the ticket had been gifted to her. The pouring rain hadn't really helped her mood about all of this, but Anming was always one to tend to force herself to grin and bear it, so as to not be rude and cause a scene. She hadn't been able to afford to bid on anything, so perhaps it was all the same that she wasn't able to arrive earlier. In any case, before she had a chance to realize what was going on, the power had gone out, then back on, and then suddenly she found herself in the middle of a very dated city, looking highly out of place in the blue butterfly ballgown she had borrowed to wear. People in old fashioned clothes suddenly were running past her, and Anming ended up nearly being knocked to the ground as she tried to process what was going on. Robots marched in soldierly lines after the fleeing townspeople, a white static close behind that seemed to be eating everything it touched. Anming still wasn't sure what was going on, but the consensus seemed to be to run... though she didn't know to where. It was difficult to do so when she was dressed up as she was, and Anming struggled to keep her footing as the crowd surged past her. She could only hope that she could get away soon.

Ilse Renier total: 8Ilse was mingling with some of the other partygoers, as she waited to pick up the things she had bid on. There was the necklace, of course, but she had also bid on a few other assorted pieces of jewelry, and won those as well. She was still vaguely unsettled at the feeling of there being eyes on her from earlier, but had largely gotten over it... largely. The storm outside was annoying, because Ilse didn't like getting wet, and hadn't exactly taken an umbrella with her to the event. She'd have to wait for her driver to come back around after the ball was over, to cover for her so she could go out to the car without getting her hair wet or anything, because imagine the damage to her social status if she was seen as anything but perfect! .. And then all of a sudden she found herself in a scene out of a campy horror movie, with an army of stupid-looking robots chasing people. Ilse was annoyed at her night being interrupted like this, but it seemed like the only option was to run, and thus, she picked up her skirt, and ran.

Réalta Total 10
Did she have a reason to be around the charity auctions or following ball? No, to either. But here the Savannah was, if only because part of her enjoyed moving through the shadows and taking a peek at whatever treasures the humans had collected. Patrolling the area wasn't a bad idea all around, and she did her best to do so frequently.
Especially with her girls so busy that evening--all the more reason for her to occupy herself. Lilith had been especially insistent she attend, at one point even tapping her finger lightly against the pearlesque marking upon her forehead. Realta had chuckled and relented, nudging against the hand for a few directed pets before heading off. She'd a point. It was the Star Festival...
That a social gathering, though, would turn south... well. All the more reason to be in attendance, no?
Her blood began to pump, excitement rising as she found herself suddenly standing in the middle of the day in a city a good few years behind Destiny City. And she without her paws and fur, she noticed with a quirked brow. Realta flexed her fingers and toes, long blue-purple hair flipped over her shoulder as she took in the intriguing scene. The costumes, the city. The robots, the static. Realta, like many, ran for it, her speed and dexterity coming into particular play here as she quickly surpassed a number of the jostling, hostile people. Though she looked like a regular human in that moment, she snorted nonetheless at the gross behavior displayed, trying to aid those that looked like they might be suffering from the impacts of their peers towards the route out of this area.

Gigi Gennaro – 9 Total = 9
Gigi hovered by the still-laden auction tables, feeling underdressed as the crowd for the more formal events started to filter in. More than one beautiful gown was wet from the downpour outside, and she watched wistfully as a gentleman sheltered his date with his suit jacket until they made it through the big doors. Things like the Ball would be more appealing if she had a date, Gigi thought. Maybe now she’d finished studying, there’d be more time. She always ended up so busy.
But still, there were other important things she had to do, and other ways to support a charity. She knew she’d been outbid on most of the items she’d tried for, but she hadn’t gone back to the antique coffee maker after its weird effect on her. She wasn’t even sure if she wanted it. Probably someone else had bid. Probably. But maybe not. Some of the other antiques had gone for super-low prices. Like the massive old TV they were wheeling out now. It was a huge cabinet of a thing, but its bidding sheet had been very empty.
The screen flickered. They must be testing it out for the new owner, she thought. Then she spotted the cord, still neatly wound.
Gigi started pushing through the crowd towards it, a warning on her lips drowned out by the thunder, hidden in the stop-motion flickers and sudden darkness. There were too many people. And the wind swirled around her.
Bright, steady sunlight hit like a shock. Gigi shielded her eyes, trying to get her bearings. It was still a crowd of people in suits and dresses, but they looked like they’d swanned out of the history channel. The outfits, the buildings, the shops. All retro. All… a little fake somehow, she realised, like something out of a movie. The tinny crowd soundtrack changed around her, and for a moment, she thought the pointing fingers and open mouths were for her own rather shorter skirt. Then the screaming kicked in, and she turned to see the vintage robot army, looking straight out of a black-and-white kids show. They weren’t scary at all. Honestly, she could build a better one out of a trash can. But the white-out behind them – that was a worry.
She took off running, easily outdistancing the stock-characters in their high heels and 50s hats. She wasn’t sure where would be safe from the static, but there was some kind of hole in the world up ahead. Maybe a way back to reality. She aimed for that.
