It's Contest Time! Because Enoh is a bit of a flake and has these rather strange urges sometimes, we're starting another contest! This one is prompt based and anyone can enter! Guardians, People Waiting for their Curio's art, Lurkers, complete strangers, the neighbour's cat! Well okay, maybe not the neighbour's cat, but I'm sure if s/he really tried hard enough, s/he could enter too. Ah, enough of my rambling, on with the contest details!The How-To This contest is fairly easy...In fact, it has THREE EASY STEPS! Bwahahaha and all that.
Step One:
Choose who you want to participate. Lurkers and Strangers may use any OC that they wish, including pets from other shops. Those still waiting for their Curios art (and you have to be listed in the Curio-To-Do list for this to apply), may use their soon-to-be Curio if they wish, but they also have the option of using any OC of their choosing as well. Current Guardians may use either their Curios or their OCs.
Step Two:
Make a thread for yourself in THIS forum. The guild is open to the public, so there is no need to join if you don't want to.
The title of the thread must have this format: [C-A] Gaia Name - Participant's name
(It should look something like this: [C-A] Enoh Love - Xbalanque // OR // [C-A] Enoh Love - Sally Andrews) I want it to be in this format so everything would be easier to find later on.
Step Three:
Answer the prompt however you want! It can be in a journal format, a solo format, in some sort of artistic form...whatever you choose is entirely up to you. Just, somehow, the prompt has to be answered.The Rules D'aww, yes, this contest has rules. Pity, huh?
o1. This contest is FREE to enter (not really a rule, but important none the less)
o1b. Anybody can enter. Guardians, To-Be Guardians, Lurkers, Strangers...This is open to everyone!
o2. You may enter up to two different participants, but they require two different threads...but you may only win ONCE.
o2b. All threads must be titled as such: "[C-A] Gaia Name - Participant's name", with the Gaia Name being...well, your Gaia Name, and the Participant being the name of the Curio/OC that will be leading the prompts.
o3. If you are a current Guardian and have your Curio as a participant, they will count towards growth requirements...but the entire thread you create will only count towards one solo OR journal. Soon-To-Be Guardians that use their soon-to-be Curios? This will NOT count for them.
o4. There will be a total of four prompts given in this contest, and all four prompts must be answered to be considered as a finalist.
o5. Prompts will be posted one at a time. You will have 48 hours from the time the prompt is posted to respond in order for it to count. Unless given permission by Enoh Love (and you can pm that account directly, or IM her over AIM at sanguincarn)
o6. Any person found to have unsportsmanlike behaviour, including bullying for votes or whining if they did not win (sore losers) will have appropriate measures taken against them.
o7. The prizes will be exactly as they are listed in the prize section. No adding extra items to make up the maximum value offered.
o8. The winners will be chosen by their peers; but the voters can NOT vote for themselves, and they must have a reason as to why they cast that particular vote. You may only vote ONCE.
o8b. All participants must cast a vote.
o9. The Curio Shop staff reserve the right to edit these rules should the need arise.

How the Winner is chosen:
For this contest, I am leaving it up to you, the people, to choose who they think should win. After the fourth prompt is posted and the standard 48 hours to submit their entry has passed, a thread will be opened for votes. Read the entries, decide who you think should win, and fill out the voting form that will appear there! The votes will be tallied and the numbers applied...but if there are any ties, well, we might need to have a tie breaker!

The First Prompt Considering this contest is a little last minute, I will be starting this off pretty simple. This first prompt must be completed 48 hours from the date of this post. The prompt is...rather generic, I'll give you that. But I promise, it'll spice up a bit! As always, I make no promises that this won't get absolutely insane. General warning: This will include those crazy, stupid creatures born with the power of suggestion from the Curio Shop that are known as the Nutbars.
The Prompt:
Simple, Friendly, Direct: The dawn of a new day approaches. You are just getting out of bed...or are you? Take us through your day, just this one, particular day from morning to night. Are you an early riser? Do you sleep in? Go to work? School? What do you eat, if anything? Does something interesting happen? The content is up to you, but we want to see what happens on any given day, from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed.

The New Prompt Oh, wow! Your day certainly seemed exciting! That's great! But...uhh...you seem to be forgetting something. I'm pretty sure this happened at some point in your day. How could you forget it? Remember, that Nutbar creature that just came up to you out of nowhere and demanded that you help it out? That stupid little creature who told you it didn't know where it needed to go, what it needed to get, but it sure as heck needed you to go there and get it for them? Remember, they opened that weird door out of thin air, pointed to a wild goose that appeared out of nowhere that ended up running through the door? The crazy Nutbar pushed you into the doorway too! The doorway closed once you were both on the other side! You came across a whole new strange world! How could you forget that?!
Oooh, I see, your memory of that incident is coming back! At what point in the day did it happen, again? When the nutbar opened that door to another world, what kind of world did the Nutbar make you run through, to chase after that wild goose? It's okay, memories are strange things. Just take it slow, and tell me when it happened, what you thought of it happening while it was happening, and what kind of world you ended up in. What it an alternate universe? Some crazy planet? Based on a video game (Pokemon? Persona 3 or 4? Dokapon Kingdom? .hack? World of Warcraft? Tetris?!)? Other Game (Candy Land, Clue, 13 Dead End Drive, Solitaire, Mahjong)? Book? What do you think of the world, and this crazy smoke creature that keeps licking it's own eyeball to try and think?
**Remember, this happens like the Blind Date RPs do - You're suddenly somewhere else, and time back home just stops. As for the world - the only limit is your imagination! It can be whatever you want it to be.
About the Nutbars The Nutbars are crazy little smoke creatures that are almost always hungry and not too bright. At all. Every nutbar possesses a hypnodisk, and they are born with the power of suggestion that can border on hypnosis when in contact with an easily manipulated person. They first showed up in Metaplot 1 and while most of them vanished afterward, five of them stayed behind to live with their Curios (Carina, Evari, Faris, Pilot, Wynn). They talk extremely fast and don't seem to need to take deep breaths in between, though sometimes they do pretend to catch their breath when they've lost their train of thought, or just don't want to talk anymore. They are absolutely obsessed with food and shiny objects, and have been known to have a black hole for a stomach.
When talking for your nutbar, keep these things in mind:
+ They're simple creatures.
+ They're addicted to food.
+ Theytalklikethiswithnoexceptions.
+ If you colour code speech in your posts, use gray.
+ They don't actually have names: Either you name it, or they practically explode when trying to think up one for themselves. If they manage to blurt out a name, it's probably an item or a colour that could be nearby. (for example, Carina's nutbar named itself Purple: "Name? Did it have a name?! OH GOD IT DIDN'T KNOW! It was just told to get them to the shop. Nothing about names! This question was too hard! The stupid creature's eye was wide in panic. "PURPLE." It shouted as loud as it could. Well. Huh. That worked.")

The New Prompt Alright! So, uh, you're in this world, and this really loud, stupid creature is demanding that you help it. Wonderful...
After a while of exploring this world, your Nutbar points at the Wild Goose that had run into the world just before you did (hah, did you notice it?! I bet you didn't!), and demands that you chase and capture it. It's beak has something in it - it looks like a key! Geese aren't that easy to capture however, and this one proves to be no easier than the next. How long does it take to chase the Wild Goose? How did you end up catching it? Did it give up it's key easily, or did it make you fight it?
For clarity: This prompt ends when you retrieve the key from the Wild Goose.

The New Prompt
Alright! You have the key! That's totally awesome! Your Nutbar is now prattling on about something, either about a box or a popsicle, it's really hard to tell at this point, but in the end, you understand that the key opens a box, and that the Nutbar really, really wants a popsicle. Hey, at least you were mostly right the first time! Grudingly, the goose brings you to a room of boxes, and the Nutbar ever so proudly guards the doorway, preventing you from leaving until you have 'it'!
How many boxes do you try to open until you get one that does? What is inside? Is there something in it? Is is empty? Was this what the Nutbar was looking for? If it is, does it let you leave to go back home, or does the easily distracted creature need convincing? If it isn't what it was looking for, where do you end up finding it? Was there ever a 'thing' that it wanted to look for, or did this whole quest end up as a giant derailing in the Nutbar's quest to get a popsicle?
You eventually end up back home, where the previously paused time resumes once more.
What happens after you received the key from the previous prompt is entirely up to you. The above paragraph is just a bunch of suggestions, but feel free to toss your own in there to finish this...stupid little adventure!

What made me vote for them: It was REALLY, really hard to choose here, especially with how awesome everyone's entries were but I really really liked the pokemon jokes and the formatting of the first entry was enough to have me in stitches. What made me vote for them: Although I enjoyed ladyumbra's 1st prompt, and Mizu_Taji's 2nd, I have to vote for Eight. I enjoyed the quality of their writing the most, what they wrote, and I found it the most descriptive without being boring. I also appreciate the fact they were able to keep me interested despite the length, very well written!

What made me vote for them: He took a character that doesn't get a whole ton of screentime and the only definite personality anyone really knew was that he's really messed up in the head and made four...epic entries. The page of Critter's life story made me laugh (Though really the whole thing does) and the fact that he has that moment of clarity where he realizes just how screwed up he really is was just hysterical. It's hard, because there's a bunch of entries that I like, but I believe Critter's was my favorite. That little psychopath. It was really original using a nutbar, since they're more like little pets than OCs or Curio. I hope he and Fremma have a happy life together. 8D

What made me vote for them: I found it very easy to keep up with the pace of her entry, and never had to struggle to understand what was happening. I found myself giggling at a few scenes, and I enjoyed it as a whole. The characters reactions to what was happening was enjoyable, and the way it was told kept me interested to the end.

What made me vote for them: This was really hard to judge because there where a lot of great entries but what I love about Orphy's is the interaction between Manami and the Nutbar. I especially liked how Manami could barley understand a thing it said because of howitkeepstalkinglikethis because I don't think anyone else ever brought that up before.
