Sessrumnir’s ears were ringing. Lighting, a blast, and Earth being covered by a dark cloud.
Even with the disappearance of Earth and the Moon from view, Laurelite was still fighting. Others were still fighting. They had to all have seen the explosion. There was no guarantee that the shields Almadel’s blueprints helped create would actually protect Earth.
There was no proof that they wouldn’t protect Earth. Not yet at least.
Black lightning and pieces of scales rained around them, and Sessrumnir hissed as he felt it crackling across his skin as he tried to keep an eye on his brother.
Whatever words that had been exchanged between Valhalla and Laurelite hadn’t resulted in a bloodbath. Yet. Valhalla tended to be naive and hopeful. Even after their father’s death, and the acceptance that some tough decisions would need to be made, Valhalla was still putting himself in harm’s way.
He couldn’t help but think their father would have been proud of Valhalla. Even though his trust and search for good ended up getting him killed, Sessrumnir believed that this would have been the same path Empyrean would have taken. Risking everything for a chance to save others. But then again, Valhalla had always taken after their dad the most.
‘Move.’
Although Sessrumnir had a chance to attack the serpent, he realized too late how distracted he’d been. While he could focus and compartmentalize for battles, he was never a fan of crowds, or explosions. He felt like he was moving too slowly when everything was fast-forward around him.
He went crashing to the ground, dragging Lucien along with him, ducking for cover under the scale that Alastor had grabbed for a shield. Alastor took the full brunt of the assault. Sessrumnir flinched in alarm when blood speckled his face and clothes from where the shards of scales had cut through fabric and skin.
“Are we--” Sessrumnir sputtered. He was not without injury, but he bristled in alarm at how easily Alastor could ignore his own injuries in favor of them. “You’re not!” he breathed in horrified exasperation.
Beneath Sessrumnir, Lucien grunted and wiggled his way out from under the Knight. He was grateful for the assist, and had even helped pull the Knight out of the way, but he was irritated that Alastor had been injured in the process.
“There isn’t much grace given to allow rest, even if injured,” Lucien reminded them as he checked on his own injuries while side-eyeing Alastor. “Clever use of available resources,” he praised, because how could he not, when his bonded was so prepared for all situations.
He aimed a careful attack at the serpent with his Mauvian energy beam.

He hadn't expected anyone to offer him anything. He looked at the berry in his hand, "I'll use this shortly!" He said assuring the knight and smiling.

Character Name, Rank, and a link to their journalSuper Eternal DMS Hela Location: H9 Action: Stepping out of the mirror as an Eternal and summoning her golems to Shield Total: 9 + 5 = 14 Shielding HP: 92 -26 -17 +25= 74HP
One moment she'd been standing on the field, the next, Hela felt herself falling.
Silence and darkness were all that she heard and saw, at least at first. What had even happened? She turned, looking all around, as her eyes fell on the long mirror in this interim space. She saw the fighting through the glass before her, and for a moment, she let that frustration build before something nagged at her.
Like a pat on the back as she stepped forward, reassuring her, even if she was alone in that space. She could do this, as Hela, this was something she could manage because people needed her and relied on her.
When she stepped back out into to chaos and noise, she felt stronger, more ready than she had been, and she gave a determined look to Remaque as she pulled her arms in close and through them out. This wasn't a time for dolls, this was a time for something bigger, better, and ready to protect the others.
"Golems!"
Behind her, the small army of 10 stone look-alikes moved forward and spread out to help. The more targets that could take hits, the fewer strikes would actually hit the other mirror senshi in the area. She was sure it would help, certain that she'd be able to do something more to keep those left standing safe. They all needed to work together on this, because after all this, she needed to make sure she had a strong word with Mirrorspace about how topsy-turvy it was.

Vela smiled at the guardian cat and she spun around and flames went around her body and she said "Eternal senshi Vela!!" She got back down on the ground and put her hands on the ground and said "Bonfire Burn!!" Once her attack was done she looked at the guardian cat. "Thanks you are a life savor, I didn't even know I had gain the power of an Eternal yet good timing." She said with a laugh. "I'm Vela but I guess you caught that already." She looked at the Hallow worried they still had to get out of this mess alive.
Character Name, Rank, and a link to their journalSuper senshi Vela Location: G8 Powering to Eternal senshi Action: Using first Eternal attack on the Hallow Total: 9 + 10
Eternal Sailor Attack:
Bonfire burn
Vela puts her hands to the ground and she focuses on one target in a 10 ft circle. She pulls up a circle of fire that makes everyone in the circle feel like they are being burned. (Lasts 45 sec.) (Once per battle) (Only feels like burning) HP: 6 + 25 for Eterhnal senshi growth
Lieutenant Weissite Location: F9 Action: with team Total: 2 + 10 (pin) HP: 0
This was it. All they could do.
Weissite looked to his comrades as nearly half of them were struck by the monsters attack and collapsed, faded away, gone. With hundreds of agents and Senshi and knights here, still only half of them were going to make it out alive. Gremlin, Cala, Vauxite and his sister, and... even himself. He wasn't going to make it, either. Was that the most horrible outcome? So much of his family was already taken from this world. Weissite would fight with the last bit of his energy for Rakovanite, Narcissus, Diesel, and Feldspar. They should live.
There was no compulsion for him to be among them. It was okay, at last.
There was something terribly familiar about the half-youma's utter digust that Hybris found a little cheering. Not enough to forget that he'd been high in the air, been falling through said air, been atop a dragon in the first place. It was all a little much.
He should've just played dead in the first place, Laon likely wouldn't have minded someone else pulling the same trick. But he hadn't, instead he'd taken action instead of simply acting. "Ganymede" shifted and sulked until the Calamitous Hollow gazed down on them, well and truly. Slowly her facade began to melt away into Hybris's true features, dark blue eyes widening as it strained against the prison.
Everything stopped in a single frozen moment, and then...a cleared sky, a glimpse at the pure vastness of space, and then a sudden question.
If they won, and they returned, would there be a world to come back to? He should look for the telltale greens and browns of an Earth Knight. The soft pastels of a Moon Knight. They'd be effected by the loss of their wonders, correct?
But instead, Hybris stood there, gaze fixed to the sky and the brief, ragged glimpses into strange spaces. He thought of the glimpses given by the Mirror and wondered, vaguely, if they were friends. Or, possibly, rivals of a sort. The refined and reflective nature of the mirror, so very counter to the primitive and open mouthed hunger of the Hollow.
The shield shattered and in his fascination, Hybris failed to return to the strength and protection of the court and its prince. The scales were no less destructive for their smaller size, and Hybris found himself roughly knocked down by one, glanced by another. It was the most genuine pain and injury he'd had since joining the mirror, and this time there was no negotiating with the danger, and no running away.
Maybe it was the shock, or he simply had a broken set of internal priorities, but Hybris found himself smiling a little at it. Curious and wondering as he coughed up actual blood for once.
That smile widened as he saw Hela appear in the distance, in a new uniform, a small army appearing at her fingertips. It was enough to have him put in effort to stand up once again. "HELA!" He waved his arms to grab her attention and then swiped a hand across his face, turning into a copy of his friend.
"You look so amazing!" Hybris gave a little spin as he ran toward Hela and the rest of the court, so she could see for herself. But as he turned, black cracks of lightning soon began to shower down, quickly obscuring and then outright consuming him. In the end, nothing remained, Hela's last glimpse of him simply a reflection of her own face.
Sailor Acrucis, Super Senshi of Prayer Location: H5 Action: Healing Surtur, Beira, Kaifeng, Helene Total: 4+10(rank)+10(crystal flower) = 24 x 2 (Bracelet) = 48 (10 to Beira, Surtur, Arthur, Pherkad, 8 to Rainier) HP:52-26(prompt) = 26 +25 (rank up) = 51
“Thank you,” she breathed a sigh of relief, eyes clouding over with tears when he returned her henshion pen.
Holding it carefully in her hands, the words he spoke of caught in her throat. Worry and doubt silenced her until she looked up at Beira who stood closest to her, then to their friend Surtur and finally Rainier, who offered her words of encouragement, you got this.
“Here,” the senshi (Sailor Pherkad) who had arrived with the mauvian offered her what looked like a crystal rose. “I found this with my friend, Sailor Child, last winter. I think you could use this more than I could.”
Again, she looked down at the pen and closed her eyes, feeling the warmth flood through her she drew in a calming breath and exhaled slowly. “Acrucis Eteranl Star Power, Make Up”
Enveloped in a soft light, her uniform changed; the familiar capelet rested upon her shoulders, but was more detailed than before, as were the ribbons and drape that rested in her lap. Acrucis brought her hands together, the flower held between both palms.
“Prayer of Sanctuary,” she whispered, and a circle of light burst out from beneath her. An intricate symbol of a crux with gold curls similar to the design on her uniform glowed with a soft yellow hue.
Arnica had laughed briefly with Hekate’s quip, and he might have even been flattered at the name Charming, but it was hard to be in a good mood when some world-eating horror was doing everything in its power to destroy your world and you?
He winced at the latest destruction in the sky, and as the black lightning showered down above them.
“You think it suits you? I think it’s cute,” he said, somewhat absentmindedly. “But if you call me that, you might give me an ego.”
She seemed fun. He hoped he’d get to spend more time getting to know her. Preferably after they could find out Earth was saved. But, maybe if they were Mirrorscape-bound, there would be plenty of time to get to know the rest of the Court.
He didn’t have a lot of magic left, but he was going to make use of what he had ; he wanted to get out of here. Especially now that all of their lines of defense seemed to be dwindling.

Dark Mirror Super Sailor Laon Location: H9 Action: Attacking ; struck by lightning; KO’d but on the field Total: 1 + Super HP:KO’d
There were many things that surprised Laon, between the chaos above them, and the black lightning that kept striking everywhere around them, but it was Arawn’s words that surprised him most of all.
Maybe it was stupid. He should be more worried about Earth. He felt bad about it, briefly, but it wasn't like that planet had ever been kind to them. He had everything he needed here, and Remarque would make sure they were taken care of in Mirrorspace. They’d been working so hard on it.
But Arawn remembered. His memory wasn’t the best when he was stressed, and it wasn’t like Laon had put a lot of effort into reminding him. Yes, he had two slices of cake in the fridge. Yes, he’d planned a special dinner–nothing expensive, just a nice little diner they liked. He bought and wrapped presents–practical things, like towels and shoes they could share, a fan, since summer was coming.
He didn’t expect Arawn to remember, not because he didn’t care, but because it was hard for him.
So, his heart skipped a beat and he almost smiled.
He didn’t want Remarque’s attention, but he wanted to get out of here. He wanted to go home–whatever home that might be. He wanted to be anywhere calm, and he wanted to be with Arawn.
“Okay,” he promised, appreciating the closeness for just a minute. There was a hum in his ears, different from before. “I love you,” he said softly, and couldn’t even hear himself. He wanted to stay in Arawn's arms for as long as possible but he needed to draw away so he could use his magic, too. The only way to get home was by fighting for it.
He used his magic quickly, maybe a little recklessly.
Maybe he should have paid more attention.
In his heart, he knew you couldn’t outrun lightning, but it still felt like a punishment when it struck him.
His hearing was gone again, replaced by a sharp, electric hum. His vision faded. The lightning that struck him was black, but all he saw was white. And then, he saw nothing.
Laon stood, rigid, for a long moment. Then, he fell to his knees, hard, and slumped over.
General* Chalcanthite Location: E7 Action: Attacking with Bow Total:7 + 10 = 17dmg HP: 77-26 - 17 = 0 (choosing to drop)hp still on the field
Hearing his lieutenant drop, he let another arrow loose at the creature. It didn't feel like it was doing much, but any bit counted. As long as he could keep at it, he would, he had to.
But when he saw the Earth struck, he felt that first crack in his resolve, the disbelief that they had failed even after working together across sides. He stopped, looking between Melpomene and Cici as his free hand scrambled for another arrow.
It was muscle memory, but even now he itched for those old comforts as the swirling feeling of failure and guilt started to bubble back up even with his fiance right here. It wasn't something he could hide, not from them.
But the next shot never came; his hands fell to his sides as the lightning struck him. The pain was only there for a split second before it vanished.
Melpomene was gone, the fight was gone.
Only the alien and otherworldly star that looked through him remained as he stared up at it. He couldn't look away, even though something far off now would probably urge him not to look.
Liam... The broken flash sent through the earring as he drifted in this space, feeling like he had when he'd run from loss before. Nothing had changed, he'd failed again, and he didn't know if he had anyone to pick up the pieces this time.

Seeing Chal get struck, she had managed to eat the gift from Almadel before the lightning hit her, too. It felt horrible and had her reeling back with the mauvian in her grasp. It had to have hurt them, and she felt bad for it, but there were too many things to manage in this crisis right now.
She looked towards Melpomene, eyes pleading for them to do something about her musician, because she couldn't manage much more after that last hit.

One last-ditch effort at pulling things from her subspace, the heaviest book went flying at the Hallow.
It didn't even make contact as she felt the lightning, felt how her body seemed to rip apart as the electricity crackled over her skin and consumed her.
It wasn't how she wanted things to end, but maybe it was better than rotting away in a library. Maybe... this had all been a dream and she'd never left that library.
Super Sailor Beira, Senshi of Loneliness Location: H5 Action: With Surtur and Rainier, Acrucis and Arthur ; keeping quiet and focused and attacking Total: Roll + Super HP: 23/125 (minus whatever damage he takes this roll)
All Beira could do was keep attacking. It wasn’t easy to tune out so much of what was going on. But, he could still function if he didn’t pay attention to the damage the Calamitous Hollow had just sent towards Earth. He could still focus if he wasn’t thinking about how dire their situation was now that the shield failed. He could still hone in on a single target if he wasn’t thinking about the black lightning slamming down on them
He had a vague awareness of whatever everyone was doing, but he knew they were all just trying to attack and do their best in whatever way possible.
So, he did the same; he aimed another attack at the Calamitous Hollow and tried to ignore the sight of destruction behind it.
Everything was....just so much. There were many feelings swirling around in the Senshi of Doubt's head, but he was brought out of it when he felt a sudden needly clinging on his leg. Looking down, he saw a cat.
"Uh, what?"
He....wasn't the brightest guy at the best of times. And this..this was the worst of times. He reached out to the Mauvian to dislodge them from his leg, holding them gently. He would have asked for name, but now really didn't seem like the time....

Before moving, she took the calculated risk of taking hold of the Captains hand and using her water shift to heal him the same way she had healed Wolframite before.
Lavendulan moved quickly to mend his moderate injuries, she had only just managed to step away from him as a bolt of lightning struck her squarely. The magic ended immediately, and Stauroite was returned to his normal form as her knees buckled and her body fell to the side.

Any humor she might have felt from their friendly conversation died when the Calamitous Hollow launched a lethal attack at their home. There was no way of knowing if it had actually destroyed Earth upon impact, but the dark cloud that blocked the Sun and Moon from view only emphasized her worry.
“I-I’ll keep that in mind,” she replied, her tone quiet as the shock of witnessing such an event left her standing motionless. “I wish I had met you before now,” Hekate looked up at Arnica with a solemn expression. “I think I would have enjoyed your company and perhaps been more involved with the Court.”
With the last of her energy she cast her final Jinx upon the Calamitous Hollow.

First their home.
Next to fall was Salar de Uyuni one of the two pages who had sought sanctuary within the circle of Cosmos Knights when the Calamitous Hollow slammed into the shield.
Lightning struck closer each time, until one struck Yetzriah.
In the shock of his sudden disappearance, she reached out to Kiringul, and as he turned to look her way, Einhornhöhle could only watch in shock-filled horror as black lightning crashed down upon him.
It felt like she had been stabbed through the heart. Stagging forward, she fell to her knees where he was just standing. Kiringul… she wanted to scream his name,e but the lump in her throat denied her any sound. Harvey… her lantern clamoured to the ground beside her, the chain draped over her lap as she fell forward in deep despair.
Why… she leaned forward, palm pressing against her chest as tears fell freely. Cosmos, why… why have you forsaken us? The princess they were meant to follow had never once offered her guidance or wisdom, and could not protect those who swore to follow her.
She had tried to keep them alive with what little magic she possessed, but in the end it wasn’t enough.
The light in her lantern burned brightly with channeled magic full of her grief and despair.
Squire: Hanging lantern on a chain Magic: Holding the lantern, it begins to glow with the light of a distant star growing in brightness and warmth. Chaos within a 15’ radius from may feel drawn to the light attention wise if caught out of the corner of their eye or if it is in their direct line of sight. Order within the 15' are blanketed in a comfortable warmth from the light that eases tension like sitting around an open fire with friends or family.
Growling a little as she was picked up, held and looked at in utter confusion, Cuan would have despaired at this... this Haldane had it not been for the serious young woman who understood what Cuan wanted. Giving her a nod of thanks and giving Haldane a mild glare, the kitten seized the henshin pen between her teeth. Wriggling free of Haldane's grip, she landed lightly on her feet and closed her eyes for a moment. She had to focus. This was important and she was so tired.
After a brief pause, Cuan's eyes flew open and she tossed her head, tossing the pen up into the air where it seemed to hang for a breath. Grinning a little, she leapt after it, twisting and turning in mid-air as she focused all of her power on the pen. She watched as it morphed and began to drop.
"Catch it, you twit," she ordered in a tiny voice as she turned her attention to the senshi;s starseed. "Hold it. You can feel it, yes? Time to tell the whole world who you are!"
Haldane's starseed was, in some ways, much better behaved than Solaris' had been. But Haldane was human and had not been wrestling with one of the spikes. She'd cut him some slack.

Haldane was not exactly familiar of the etiquette when dealing with Mauvians, but he figured maybe this one was just particularly spicy. Well, whatever - they'd done something to his pen.
Now with it back in his hands, he felt the power, and was no longer just Haldane, but Super Sailor Haldane.
"Oh wow! Thanks little kitty friend!" Haldane beamed a great dumb smile at Cuan.
Bellatrix was pleased, but now was not the time to celebrate. She handed Haldane the berry she had received from the goodie bags from earlier - even with a fresh new drip, he looked like he needed it more than she did at the moment - especially with his magic still biting back at him.
"Here, take this as a congratulations gift. If we make it out of this, I'll congradulate you better later."
She then looked at Cuan, "Thank you."
Haldane took the berry, munching on it gratefully.
"Alright. Let's see what I can do now!" Haldane was ready to try out his new power....without thought to how it might bight back at him.
