Kiritani Hidden Technique: Endless Masquerade C [Learned]
Type: Iryojutsu - Situational
Element: n/a
    tab In short, a very physical and real version of Henge no Jutsu.
    tab Derived from Ningeniro [Human Color], Endless Masquerade changes the physical shape and form of the body down to the even the cellular level. Endless Masquerade can change virtually any physical aspect of the target: color (any shade, natural or not), gender, age, sizes, and even off-the-wall characteristics like smell and taste. It is, however, limited by the limits of what the standard human body can handle, which are outlined below.
    tab Barring certain genetic exemptions, such as the Akimichi, experimenting with Endless Masquerade has revealed that attempting extreme size changes with this technique leads to not only malfunctioning body parts but also severe bodily harm in extreme cases. Becoming a giant, it is not only impossible for the human body, even under the influence of ninja magic, to safely create enough matter to support such growth, but the circulatory and nervous systems cannot keep up with the sudden change in size. On the opposite end of the spectrum, trying to alter the body to anything smaller than 3' or so not only squeezes the inner anatomy of the body, which cannot be made to reduce in time, but also has a high chance of further complications arising when the target reverts back to his original size.
    tab All in all, the safe limits of Endless Masquerade tend to hover between approximately 3' and 7' of height and their respective underweight and overweight weights. Proportions between body parts need to be kept within reason, being able to border on but not cross into "abomination" territory.
    tab Because of the delicacy of this technique, even if it can be executed in a timely and easy manner with enough practice, the target of Endless Masquerade must be willing for Endless Masquerade to take effect.


Kiritani Hidden Technique: Hopeless Masquerade B [Learned]
Type: Sensory/Iryojutsu - Situational
Element: n/a
    tab Hopeless Masquerade is a technique developed to perfect the disguise of Endless Masquerade by changing the target's chakra. Like the root technique, it makes use of iryojutsu's ability to create biological changes within the body, specifically the tenketsu. Of course, directing these changes is only possible because of a sensor's sensory expertise. Chakra, however, is more stubborn than the physical form, and any changes created by Hopeless Masquerade fade after 24 hours. Although, there is nothing stopping Hopeless Masquerade from being cast again before the 24 hours is up, whether it is to maintain, release, or alter the chakra disguise.
    tab Changes to chakra are almost purely cosmetic. However, because they are caused by manipulating the physical tenketsu, they appear real, and cannot be "seen through" by a sensory technique. For the manipulation to be discovered, a medically trained sensor would need to physically examine the target. Because these changes go so deep in order to be indistinguishable from the real thing, they are equally difficult to release, excluding when their duration naturally runs out, and require using this technique again in order to revert any changes.
    tab The target of Hopeless Masquerade must be willing, due to the delicate nature of this technique. However, despite the finesse required, the technique itself is cast painlessly and instantaneously. It has three different effects that can be used alone or combined any which way.
    • Disguise - The target disguises their chakra, changing the signature but no details, such as bloodline and elements, so that they are sensed as a different individual with the same characteristics.
    • Suppress - The target suppresses their chakra, making it appear less than it is, or even completely nonexistent. This works even on demon and sage chakra. The target, however, cannot use chakra that is hidden. Because chakra pool sizes are used to determine body rank, this manipulation can also alter a sensor's perception of the target's body rank.
    • Deceive - The target changes their chakra to deceive sensors of a particular detail, such as bloodline, element, or another tidbit of information. However, the falsified detail cannot be used. Deceiving with a bloodline prevents the target from using any passive or active aspects of said bloodline. Deceiving with an element prevents the target from using any passive or active aspects of said element. So on and so forth.


Kiritani Hidden Technique: Song of ____ X [Learned]
Type: Manipulation
Element: Varies
    tab A technique modified by this manipulation changes its point of origin to anywhere within line of sight and 320 meters. In exchange, employing this manipulation takes an amount of chakra equal to one rank lower than the base technique, down to 5 chakra at lowest. When manifested with this manipulation, techniques give a telltale a sign, a brief indication in the instant that they activate. It could be the spark of a building katon technique, a lazily drifting bunch of chakra manifestation leaves to herald a futon technique, or even a deceptively cheery ball of bright energy that hides a harmful eisei technique within.
    tab This is a manipulation to a base technique, and so takes zero activations to use. The element/type of this manipulation for the purpose of chakra reductions and the like is determined by the base technique. Multiple manipulations may be used on one technique. This manipulation cannot modify Taijutsu, Bukijutsu, or anything not wholly paid with chakra.


Kiritani Hidden Technique: Dance of ____ X [Learned]

    tab A technique modified by this korabo changes from its original shape into a controlled burst centered on the user that can spread in all directions up to the maximum range allowed for the rank of the base technique.

    tab This is a technique meant to korabo with another technique, known as the base technique, and so it has skewed values. When used alone, it acts as a rank weaker an simply releases a burst of concussive chakra at the ranges prescribed above. When koraboed with another technique, it acts as a rank higher. The element/type of this korabo for the purpose of chakra reductions and the like is determined by the base technique.


Kiritani Hidden Technique: Medical Clone B [Learned]
Type: Iryojutsu - Healing
Element: Varies
    tab Using the fine chakra control refined by iryojutsu techniques and biological knowledge studied as a doctor of medicine, a clone capable of sustaining itself even while the user is unconscious is created. Though, while built to last even when the user is unconscious, the clone is easier to deal with, disappearing upon being hit by a C-rank attack or lower, without a conscious user. The stability of this clone's makeup limits it to using medical techniques that the user knows and prevents it from creating clones itself. Like a shadow clone, the clone relays information to the original when it is dispersed.


Angel's Mystical Hand Technique [ Tenshi no Shousen Jutsu ] | Rank S+ | Iryojutsu | Spiritual
Conceptualized by and developed on the research done by the demon of the hospital and Kagerou's mentor, Dr. Angel, Angel's Mystical Hands is really a technique that was, in all ways just shy of traditional instruction, taught to Kagerou by a non-shinobi. The pinnacle of the healing hands technique line, Tenshi no Shousen Jutsu can regenerate limbs and organs within milliseconds, even when nothing is left. The body is rebuilt using the blueprint found in the DNA code of cells from other parts of the same body, recreating a perfectly healthy and ready to use replacement that even retains any bloodline properties the original had. Any stamina or chakra lost through any tier of status, trauma included, is automatically restored to the patient. If this technique is used on a target which has not endured trauma then they gain stamina and chakra equal to the cost of this technique. If this technique is used on oneself then the stamina and chakra gain is only equal to the rank of the technique.

Kiritani Hidden Technique: Fearless Masquerade | Rank C | Iryojutsu | Spiritual
Just for fun, Kagerou developed a derivative of Endless Masquerade that can perform a wider variety of body alterations and named it Fearless Masquerade after consulting a living dictionary. By messing even further with the body's dna, she can do outlandish transformations, growing body parts that a human normally shouldn't be able to grow: scaly tails, fluffy ears, rough horns, leathery wings, etc. These body parts may also exhibit minor supernatural characteristics that do not give anything more than rp value, such as a pair of demon horns that are comfortably warm to the touch or frozen scales that are pleasantly cool. While physically real and permanent, her body retaining the shape as if it was its natural form after the technique is completed, the changes achieved with this technique do not have any mechanical benefits. Insect antennae do not grant increased sensitivity and bat wings do not grant flight. Because the human dna can only be stretched so far before it becomes too difficult to revert it back, Kagerou must still look mostly human after using this technique.

Kiritani Hidden Technique: Medical Clone | Rank B | Iryojutsu | Spiritual
The Medical clone requires the chakra control and intimacy with the human body unique to practitioners of iryojutsu. By linking the clone's chakra network with the user's upon creation, the medical clone is able to share the user's energy resources and can continue to sustain itself even when the user is no longer conscious. When the user is conscious, the clone disappears after being hit with a B-rank attack or lower. When the user is unconscious, the clone is easier to deal with, disappearing upon being hit by a C-rank attack or lower. The stability of this clone's makeup limits it to using medical techniques that the user knows and prevents it from creating clones itself. Like a shadow clone, the clone relays information to the original when it is dispersed.

                        Ai has a tenuous relationship with life at best. Not in a hurry to die, but not particularly attached to life, either. She passes each day watching humans in their quaint daily lives. It's not bad, but not good either. It's beautiful, yet wretched. Every day, doing the same thing. Every day, living but for what? Unable to free their emotions. Constantly restraining to fit like pieces of a puzzle. Hiding themselves. A beautiful clockwork she has no desire to be a part of. Ai wanders across the lands leisurely. She does not want to live this life, but since we are all headed to the same destination, she would like to die beautifully, at least.

                        Her casually nihilistic approach to life lends to her a mysterious air but also gives her an unrestrained personality. A hypocrite is the last thing she wishes to be, so just as she thinks of the daily struggle as wretched, she acts far from the norm. The way she dresses should, honestly, be the first warning sign of this kind of personality. Wearing loose-fitting clothes that are barely tied together to hide her important bits (and often failing to do so when she is in motion), she doesn't see a reason to hide her body, a tool as much as it is a matter of her pride in it. She does as she pleases, and she is rather unashamed of her desires. If she likes someone, she likes them. If she wants to do something, she does it. If she wants something, she takes it; though, bearing in mind that illegally taking it might be more hassle than it's worth. She is most definitely pushy, but often times in a way that that ends with her target thinking that they want what she wants, too. This is usually achieved with genjutsu, to be honest.

                        That is, by an large, a reading of her internal psyche, however. What most people see is just the outside. Ai is someone who is utterly shameless. While she speaks softly, her words and actions are bold and forward. Her delicate face is thick-skinned, and she's more likely to giggle at second-hand shame than feel pity for it.

                        Background: Who Ai is. Where Ai came from. None of that really matters. She has no filial piety and no reason to mention her family. Her mother, father, and older brother are all sophisticated people, a high class and old family. It explains how Ai speaks like educated folk. They raised her well, teaching her manners and how to be conscientious of other folk. Everyday, she would follow these rules, basic rules of human ettiquette really, and live her life knowing that something was wrong with her. She would look at her house, and want to see it burn. She would hug her parents, and contemplate what would happen if she were to stab to them.

                        Living years like that, mind too sick to be normal but trained too well to be free, she fostered her depressive nihilism on life. She ran away from that home, but even outside, her lessons followed. The dog she wanted to see splayed out in distress, she could not muster the will to move her hand and carry out the deed. Outside, she was freer, but was not truly free. She could only think of death as her last remaining escape. However, she did not want to simply die. No, if she was going to die, she wanted it to be meaningful.

                        First Class: Genjutsu
                        ▱▰▱ Lasting HypnosisThe user's genjutsu prowess has achieved a heightened level of potency and lingers for longer. The primary sense of any genjutsu that was released using Kai lingers for [1] additional post. This residual effect is minor because the manipulation of the target with the technique has ended. For example, a complete darkness sight genjutsu that was dispelled may leave the lingering feeling that the world is still a bit darker than it is in reality. If a genjutsu used a mental status effect then it will linger for [1] post longer at one level below what it was before at a minimum of level one. Originally level one mental status effects are too weak to linger. The base duration of your genjutsu are increased by [1] post at E-C, [2] at B-A, and [3] at S and above. Instance genjutsu are not affected by an increase of duration but instead cannot be dispelled by kai and only by pain. Genjutsu upkeep lessens by [5] Chakra per body rank and non-Instant are applied with overwhelming, requiring lingering genjutsu to use [1.5x] the resource to Kai.
                        Second Class: Genjutsu
                        ▱▰▱ Master of DeceptionWith genjutsu, realism and the sensory ability of the target factor heavily into the ability of the victim to realize they are in a genjutsu. The illusionist chooses [1] Sense of Specialization that will render a genjutsu cost [1] rank less if the casted genjutsu's primary sense is their specialization. Genjutsu that use the illusionist's Sense of Specialization as the primary sense become resistant to the sensory powers of sages and non-Open Minded discipline scholars. This resistance means that the genjutsu will go unnoticed from these abilities. Since the illusionist has become so adept in their Sense of Specialization they may always weave it into genjutsu as an Additional Sense unless it would bring the illusion's sensory control above the [5] limit. The illusionist may also always select any Additional Sense that is not their Sense of Specialization to add to a genjutsu as long as it does not exceed the cap of [5] manipulated senses.

                        Personality: Cherished Blossoms. Blossoms that Cherish.
                        Clear and straightforward, to the point of naivety. Innocent kindness but also innocent cruelty. Sheltered purity is but sheltered ignorance. Nevertheless, she would have happily lived her sheltered life within her small world, until the golden dragon's roar ripped it all from her, leaving her lost and alone. Though she has only known this misery for a short life, she bleeds an exhaustion that surpasses her years, reaching past unknown cycles of death and rebirth. Those who take what is precious from her should die. However, more than vengeance, she is tired, and all she wants is to see Saigyou Sakura bloom once more. Give her back what was precious to her. Give her something to cherish once more. She's lived one lonely, never ending life already. Her soul wilts as she sees once more a path of red and blood laid before her, but it is in her nature's will to accept.

                        What are humans but an enigma? She loved watching their daily lives. She looked upon the way they faced death with keen interest. Born as she was knowing she would live once dead, the mysticism and reverence they approached their own unknown death was both foreign and fascinating. She cherished in equal parts their traditions for their passing and the liveliness they lived their own lives, with all of its struggles and joys. Then they killed the one who was hers, and now she doesn't know. Everything has changed, or maybe nothing at all. She had always known humans could be as wretched as they were beautiful, but now they have made her wretched with them. It is madness to wish death unto all for the crimes of only a few, but she finds herself falling into the madness more with each passing day alone.

                        Very willful. Very sweet. A little forgetful. A little shy. Plenty dense. This was the happy Sakura that passed each day content. Though darkness has crept out from within the corners of the protected light, she's still kind of cute, right?

                        Biography: The youkai of Saigyou is a cherry blossom tree with a trunk as black as ink. Two souls make one whole within this tree, both referring to themselves as Saigyou Sakura. While one Sakura rests, dormant after taking mortal wounds, the other has been left behind, a female youkai with peach blossom eyes and oni horns.

                        The transience of life. The cherry blossoms of the Saigyou no Sakura, Sakura no Hanayome, lives brief, beautiful lives, blooming gracefully and perishing elegantly, only to be reborn once again to renew the cycle of life and death. Her cycle of reincarnation, her life and death, are inexorably tied to the demon tree from which she blooms. The two share a relationship that even yokai have difficulty explaining. At once guardian and ward and equal partners. Both the same and different. One talks little and the other is content to not know, leaving only those few that knew the pair in the distant path to even know how they came to be one.

                        They lived a peaceful life among the humans in Zaishin, meticulously disguising their yokai sides. Saigyou Sakura was here far before any humans were, but they did not oppose the advance of the samurai and merely bent their lives around the new and growing population. Trees do not. They adapt. Generation after generation, the cherry tree stood, magnificent and mysterious, in the courtyard of a funeral consultant who would cover his face with a veil. Occasionally, he would be accompanied by a girl with pink and blue eyes, and though the folks may have questioned the consultant, who never seemed to age and would, from time to time, be mysteriously replaced by a seemingly identical heir without any explanation, they would be able to see with their own two eyes the little girl grow up, grow old, and finally rest, safe within the arms of whatever generation funeral consultant worked at the time. With her birth and life, the the tree would bloom through the seasons and years. With her death, the petals would fall, and the tree remain bare until the girl with cherry blossom hair was born once more.

                        Such was each peaceful, fulfilling life, until the golden dragon's cry shattered the illusion of peace and safety afforded a yokai living amongst samurai and pretending to be human. Horns, shorn and painstakingly shaved regularly, regrew with the absolute call. Sakura no Hanayome tried to resist at first, standing her ground as her entire body felt like it had been struck by lightning, the electricity piercing her body and shackling her very bones. No, beyond that and even more important to a yokai of her kind, her chakra. Her mind went soon after, but she could remember, in her last moments of clarity, how she lunged at a human, who thought to be heroic by stabbing her other half, like some mad beast, only for the shackles of the golden dragon to burn their authority into the core of her being and break something vital, a connection that had been helping her resist for this long, or maybe that was just the sound of the command tearing her around, like a rag doll. She lost consciousness then as her mind fried and she was sent off to battle.

                        If only all of Saigyou Sakura had been uprooted, then maybe it wouldn't have been so bad. However, in the wake of Sakura's destructive exit, her other half remained, stumbling and bewildered as he, too, felt the inexorable command to go forth and wreck havoc. However, as the clients they were serving made haste to escape, his original shackles held and withstood the Golden Dragon's roar. It could not call forth powers long since sealed, and so long as he was sealed, he could not leave. Those who escaped returned soon after with others to burn down the abode of yokai and purify it. Saigyou Sakura could only withstand for so long. Even when he received a moment of peace with the rise of the new shogun and his new policies for the yokai, the yokai that remained behind knew that it would only be a matter of time. The danger was not gone, only paused. He had been greatly weakened and his defenses were in tatters. One organized strike would be all it would need to take, but nonetheless, Saigyou refused to leave until rejoined with Sakura. As he predicted, while he waited, he was attacked by someone several levels of the common rabble. The shogun's guards were broken apart, what defenses remained torn down, and the masses easily incited once the opening was created. The fires that had been doused, renewed.

                        By the time Sakura's body and mind were freed, and she eagerly followed the command to return home, panic crossing her mind with each step, she saw nothing but fire. The collapsed roof of what had been her home gave her one last glimpse at the tree, moments before the final cherry blossom, protected by whatever little power Saigyou Sakura had remaining, was released to be engulfed by the embers after giving a final farewell.

                        A very different sort of consciousness was lost as Sakura saw flames completely swallow the tree that, more than being the vessel of her body and soul, was the vessel of body and soul she shared, cherished, relied on, always knew would be with her. A string needs two ends tied or else it falls. When was the last time she was without Saigyou Sakura? She saw red. If the cherry blossom had lost its bloom, then she would make them anew. Maybe if she drew enough blood, he would consume it as he once had.

                        An arrow flew from a bow and, as the final cherry blossom fell and turned to ash, the first blossom of red bloomed anew.

                        When Sakura woke up in a quiet room atop a mountain, having been rescued when she fell unconscious, she could not remember what happened to her after she saw red. Instead, like a third person watching a first person camera then recounting after the memory of the show faded with time, she could recall the slaughter as she enacted her revenge. She didn't regret what she remembered herself doing. She was happy, even. They deserved it.

                        She was just powerless to do anything now. The surge of power she had rampaged with had disappeared, along with whatever power she would have normally had, now exhausted and drained, as it should be with the cherry blossom tree standing so weak and crippled. With the hatred brewing within her chest, perhaps this weakness was for the best.


                        ▰ CLASSES AND STATS

                        First Class: Medic
                        ▱▰▱ Maladies PhysicianShinobi of this discipline are experts in iryojutsu and are especially well-versed in afflictions. Their medical techniques cure all symptoms of status effects applied to the user, rather than where most of the techniques cure them one at a time. In addition, medical techniques which inflict a status may inflict three different applications of the status, rather than just one. The user's crafted poisons also carry this property. The shinobi also obtains 5 custom techniques for medical ninjutsu as well as a Medical Ninjutsu Keystone technique. Refer to the Keystone Guideline for more information.
                        Second Class: Tamer
                        ▱▰▱ Chance EncounterYou are allowed to have a pet with a mythological aspect to them. This branch requires the pet has a minimal of four TA points, (points may be borrowed from later in the class if a single class, as well as bypass that rule of TA per body rank until C-ranked). This pet may have one additional Tamer Attribute. In addition, this pet gains an additional 25 chakra and stamina per the body rank of the user. Finally, this pet may be summoned and dismissed either the summoning jutsu, or by any means of calling a pet, (whistling, shouting at the heavens, etc), as long as the means makes sense within roleplay. The chance encounter also blesses you with one of two options; either every other rank you gain [10] Ninjutsu or Genjutsu or mixed slots for a total of [30] slots (D, B, and S), or, you gain [1] additional Taijutsu or Bukijutsu style every other rank for a total of [3], (D, B, and S).

                        Strengths:
                        • Latent memories accumulated over many lives and an ancient teacher have given Sakura a thorough expertise of cultural and ritual knowledge for Zaishin. In some ways, she knows even more than the masters of ceremonies in the Hogosha clan, who have only texts to rely on.
                        • Despite having nothing to do with fights prior to the Golden Dragon's awakening, it is as if Sakura was born with a practiced hand for sharpening weapons.
                        • A strength as much as it is a weakness, Sakura does not fear death. As a demon of cherry blossoms, her very existence is a celebration of the transience of life. She lives and enjoys every day as if it was her last.

                        • Sakura has lived peacefully her whole life, so the concept of fighting is lost on her. She doesn't know how to fight back, only run and defend. In fact, all of her life, she has explicitly been taught to not fight back because, on the off chance it is discovered that she is a youkai, she must be infallibly innocent to even have a chance of surviving in Zaishin.

                        • Sakura is a yokai who holds her desires deep and her obsessions deeper. In the transience that is her life, she instinctively seeks out anchors for her peace of mind. Anchors that she guards jealously and possessively, both out of affection and a fear that they might be snatched away from her. It isn't apparent, as her anchor has always been one youkai, well prepared for her habits and tendencies, but with it gone, her latent, obsessive dependency leaves the young youkai vulnerable in more ways than one.
                        Fears:
                        • Fire is an instinctive fear for plant yokai.
                        • Death does not scare Sakura, for to live and die is her existence, the death and end of the one who has always been in all of her lives strikes a chill through her heart.
                        • For as long as Sakura can remember, the cherry blossom tree she is a youkai of has been in bloom, for it blooms while she is alive and sleeps when she rests. That has always been the way, but now, ever since the humans attacked the tree, it has not bloomed. Something deep inside of her, carried from one life to the next, feels a great sadness at the thought that it will never bloom again.

                        • Chiru clan members gain scent as a genjutsu resistance. This means that genjutsu which use scent as a sense deliver one less tier of mental stress or insanity, eliminating mental stress or insanity from techniques which only provide one tier of the status effect.
                        • Chiru clan members may heal a target while in To Begin Blooming by swirling around a target while in petal form. This counts as physical contact.

                        Bloodline Attributes:
                        ▱▰▱ The Gift of Life | Because of their connection to the yang release, the chiru's clan flowers restore their own longevity. Every increment of fifty chakra spent from flower techniques restores twenty five stamina to the user. Trauma is naturally restored at one tier per three post.

                        ▱▰▱ The Red Princess of Sake | No one can drink more than Oni. No one, except perhaps Sakura. Sakura shares the exceptionally high alcohol tolerance of the Oni, and she's beaten quite a few upstart youngsters at their own game in several close matches. This is not a combat notable amount of heat or light, but it can light up a dark room clear as day and the phoenix makes for a great heater in the winter, whether he is hugged or place.
                        ▱▰▱ Transcend -True Form | Shu appears as a chicken most of the time, but he can transcend to his true form at will, without activation or chakra cost. When transcended, Shu appears as a phoenix should, a large vermillion bird with a elegant neck, graceful tail feathers, and wings that span the spectrum of the rainbow. Despite being weightless when transcended, Shu can still hold his ground as if he had weight fitting to his size. Beautiful and unearthly as he is, Shu's most striking features in this form is his size, towering over other tamer pets at 12' tall. Maintaining this form has no cost or time limit, but for various reasons, Shu finds the form inconvenient. He only rarely enters the form and doesn't stay in it for long when he does.

                        Personality: With their shy demeanor and benevolent wisdom, feng huang withdraw during times of trouble, and reappear to usher in peace, which sounds great and all, but in Shu's case, it is really just because he's a coward. Though, he is at least a dignified coward, carrying an air of solemn decorum and superiority even as a chicken.

                        Blessed with the priceless gift of common sense, Shu is as sensible despite his standing as a mythical beast. A follower of Confucian values, he is a virtuous and wise guide, teacher, and caretaker to his tamer. Benevolence, duty, respect, wisdom, and faith are his lessons. Common sense keeps the both of them (and others) alive.

                        Background: A long, long time ago, a young phoenix was caught and subdued by an immortal oni, and given two choices: make a contract with the oni and survive or perish. He chose the former, and he traveled aside the oni for many, many years. Enmity turned to friendship, and when the oni finally came to their eternal rest under a just blooming Sakura tree, the now mature phoenix decided to remain with the oni, watching over her many lives, and as he came to accept being her friend, he came to accept his new role in these many lives: a haggard advisor and caretaker.

                        Combat/Non-Combat Outfit: See images being used. Everyday in the wilds is a fight for the life, so Mani hasn't made a distinction between combat and non-combat since he was a child raised in the village. He aims for mobility with his clothes, not relying on armor to block attacks for him. When among outsiders, however, his paranoia of the outside kicks in and he prefers heavier, more concealing clothes that can hide his viera traits and hep him appear human. Though, because he's never been one to care for clothes, what he chooses to hide in might not be the least eye-catching. For instance the... bizarre robes and pointy hat set-up he has going on right now to hide his fluff tail and ears. Where he got the idea for such an outfit is beyond anyone's guess as it certainly isn't clothes from around in the Land of Rivers. Mani, being a forgetful derp whenever it comes to matters about himself wouldn't be able to tell you where exactly he saw such an outfit.
                        Accessories: Mani has multiple strings of different colors, twine colored with homemade dyes made of flowers, tied around his fingers. They're supposed to help him remember. Sometimes they work. Most of the time, they don't.
                        Distinguishing Features: Mani's body, his natural body when he isn't assimilated, is riddled with scars. Some are from the harsh, often times life threatening training male viera go through to become wood-warders. More than once, Mani has been on the brink of death, still alive only because of his tenacious fear of death. However, despite how difficult the training is, Mani does relatively well in avoiding injuries thanks to the rare gift he has to become one with the world. No, rather, most of Mani's scars actually come from the use of this ability. He often forgets to replenish his mass appropriately before dismantling his assimilation, something he does frequently as he prefers his original body over the assimilated form, and ends with deep injuries across his body from places where his mass wasn't sufficient to fill. Some of those severe wounds become scars, and over time, he has enough such accidents to create quite a collection of such body marks.


                        ▰ SOCIAL AND PERSONALITY

                        Nindo: "The distance 'twixt two bodies does not dictate the distance 'twixt two souls."
                        Personality: Catch Mani on any clear night, no matter how hot or cold, and he's probably laid out upon a tree branch in the canopies, gazing at the sky above, the stars, the moons, and the clouds. Night time is Mani's favorite time of the day. Its darkness is comforting to the male viera, who is at home in the deep shadows of the woods he roams with his master wood warder, and its sights have many a night left him breathless with wonder. He dreams of one day flying to touch the very moon and the stars himself, fanciful dreams that have more than once earned him a knock on the head and a lecture about the dangers of being so air-headed.

                        Sentimental and too friendly but with an unwavering heart set in the right place. That's how Mani's master would describe the apprentice wood warder, but viera men are not one too frivolously use words, and praise from them is nearly nonexistent. There is no point in telling a student what he is good at. That Mani is even alive is a testament to his tenacity, blunt practicality, and even, to a certain extent, ruthlessness. "Tread softly and carry a big stick." In the end, he is a hunter like his kin, and like his kin, he will notch an arrow through the eyes of even the slightest chance of a threat to his people and his home.

                        To non-viera, he is guarded, suspicious, and quiet, yet also unable to help his curiosity. To female viera that he is unfamiliar with, he is friendly and respectful, of both the Viera and the customary distance between the males and females of his kind. To other male viera and his sister, he's annoying.

                          Deep within the untamed rainy mountains of the Land of Rain, the forests and marshlands part to make space for a valley of lush jungle that is of no particular interest and lies on no path of particular importance. There, the Viera live in solitude, happily separated from the rest of the world and the, in their opinion, destructive non-kemonos they know as "humes." They are fiercely protective of their warren and the jungle it lies within, certain that outsiders would only seek to exploit and destroy it for their personal gains. Traps and illusions set by the women make the jungle a deadly place to outsiders, and for those who manage to overcome these defenses, the men who roam the jungle's deep without rest deliver a swift death, or force a swift retreat. On occasion, however, an outsider does make it to the Viera village, or as the Viera call it, the their warren. The last time such a thing has happened, however, was well over several centuries ago, and only the oldest Viera recall the event.

                          The Viera are a matriarchal tribe of rabbit kemono that worship the moon and her silver word. In their devotion to her, they follow the lunar calendar and anchor the seasons around the two solstices and two equinoxes. The Hymn of Fayth oft echoes through the thick jungle they call home, sung by the women as they traverse the dense greenery, tending to its health, cajoling out sustenance, and teaching the children. Through their faith in Her, the Viera know the moon as their creator, the mother who gave birth to the first Viera and taught them of the world. By Her word, the Viera protect the jungle that gives them life. To preserve their home, the Viera women practice agriculture only on a small scale, relying on gathering and a small bit of hunting to provide for the rest of what they need. Similarly, they mine what they must and no more, recycling old metal tools to create new tools, or relying upon the metals produced by those Viera gifted with such an ability.

                          Viera women and children, and occasionally a man, live in a large warren consisting of four groves and the Mother Tree they encircle, a silver tree that stands far above the rest of the jungle canopy and serves as a symbol of the goddess of the moon. The groves, each named after a season, are about a half a day's walk apart from each other and the Mother Tree. Each grove holds several Viera families that see and care for each other much like a close-knit extended family, would. When important decisions are to be made, elders from each grove congregate at the Mother Tree to discuss. The Mother Tree is also where important festivities are held, such as the leap month festivities that occur every few years.

                          Far fewer in number, with only one in every five Viera born being male, Viera men are raised by the women but leave the village at adolescence to be trained by a silver warder, a mature male Viera who roams to jungles as her silent guardian. Starting as young as 13 years old, some even younger depending on how quickly they mature, male Viera adolescents who are ready are taken in by a master warder visiting their grove to learn the duties and ways of Viera men. Most of these boys never return to calling the warren "home" once they leave and become assistant warders, growing up to become master warders after many years. A few of the already few, however, do for various reasons of their own. Some fail the tests that constitute a silver warder's rite of passage and had good fortune to be saved. Others simply find there calling with the village rather than out in the wilderness, an unlikely trait for a male viera to have but not an unheard of one.

                          Aggressive to outsiders and reclusive by nature, the silver men live as lone hunters, only traveling with other viera when it is to teach the next generation of men. Master warders may have as many as three assistant warders with them. Though, many have fewer, if any at all. The training is arduous and, at times, fatal, which only further drops the numbers of Viera male. However, it guarantees that assistant warders who survive the many years of training and becoming a master themselves are fully ready to part with their masters and set out on their own. The partings, of an adolescent Viera from his grove and an adult Viera from his master, are bittersweet, after so many years together, but at the same time, most look forward to it, beckoned by the freedom of solitude. Silver warders and their assistants travel to viera villages under two conditions only. The first is for trade, where they offer the fruits of their hunting for supplies that they cannot make or procure by themselves. The second is for the leap month festivities.

                          Every 2 to 3 years (32/33 month cycles, the Viera calendar includes an extra month to keep the calendar from shifting too far apart from the seasons. The extra month is a time of celebration for the Viera. Known as the Leap Month Festivities, men return to the village to gather and commune with the women and children around the mother tree. It is a time for lovers to enjoy each others physical company after years of only spiritual companionship. Siblings and old friends reconnect. matrarchs and master warders discuss together. Perhaps, most exciting of all, it is a time for young Viera to get to know each other, compete, and measure up, as well as for the older Viera to see how the village's future is measuring up. Competitions, contests and challenges for adolescents and young adults are arranged. It is said, and has been seen, that the young viera who prove themselves worthy in these challenges are gifted with a blessing from the moon.
                        Biography: Sol and Mani, twin Viera born from the same flower, were born with their hands clasped so tightly together and without so much as a cry that the midwives were worried sick. First ,that they were stillborn. Then, that they would need to be surgically separated. Luckily, neither was the case. Mani and Sol's hands were separated without surgery, and the moment they could no longer feel each other, they wailed so loudly that Viera in the other groves could hear them. That was unfortunate.

                        Growing up, the pair was just as inseparable. They stayed together through thick and thin. Sol was the first to discover her ability to assimilate. Mani, clapping and laughing loudly, followed suit right after as if it was the most natural thing to him, which it was. He and his sister had never had a thing that they couldn't do so long as the other could. When their mother discovered the two playing with their gift, she was surprised and then doting but also more strict. "We are gifted with a rare blessing to be one with what we must protect," the twins were taught, "and with this privilege, we must give back just as much as we have gained." Knocking their heads together, they understood intimately even when they were too young to understand literally what their mother was trying to teach them. They could feel in their bones, sometimes quite literally, the land that they were supposed to protect.

                        Though, if there was one thing different between the two, it was that Sol quickly came to prefer her assimilated body over her original, while Mani preferred his original over his assimilated body, feeling... almost dangerously and unwillingly untethered whenever he stayed assimilated for too long.

                        Two siblings so close to each other, but destined by their kind's instincts to also be apart. As they neared adolescence, they grew different, even as they remained close. Sol showed more concern for the nurturing what she treasured while Mani grew protective of what he found precious. Sol understood intuitively the value of teamwork and communication. Mani, however, drifted off more frequently, preferring his own pace of following. The Viera adults knew then that it was time, and when the next silver warder passed, Mani was taken under his ear to be taught the ways of his kind.

                        Velimir the silver warder was a strict teacher, and Mani a... Well, he was a student. A student who took naturally to the training, even despite clinging to dear life multiple times in the first harsh year of his apprenticeship. No matter how bad it got, however, in the end, he did survive, and to an extent, thrived. Thrived a little too much, perhaps. His ability to assimilate gave him a leg up others his age did not have, and when his training could not challenge him, Mani could be caught staring up at the night sky or, after a little over half a year had passed, pining over the sister he dearly missed. Velimir regularly berated him for being so sentimental, and no reprieve was given for Mani's loneliness. He was ordered to fend for himself in the wilderness when his master needed to return to the village to trade. In fact, in an effort to harden him, Velimir even forced Mani to skip his first leap month celebration since leaving the village to further isolate him, wring out the terrible influence his sister must have had one him by forcing the distance.

                        Mani's return to the warren was years after his leaving, amidst cinders and flames with the other silver warders and their assistants. Fire. The grove burning. The humid jungles of the Viera were unkind to forest fires, and wildfires were almost unheard of, but this year had been a particularly dry one, so the smoke and flames burning in the distance that no Viera worried about spread much farther and faster than any expected. By the time the distant warders realized, it was dangerously close to the Spring Grove. By the time most were able to make it to aid the women and children, the Spring Grove was already bathed in the flames that would later be known as the Great Inferno. Mani was finally reunited with his sister, but in less than ideal circumstances. Spurred forwards by the crisis and a long-awaited reunion, not even Velimir could stop the two from immediately pairing together, each intuitively understanding what the other wanted to do because it was they wanted to do themselves. Using their gift of assimilation, they immediately worked in tandem to reach the depths of the wildfires that the other Viera could not to save as many beloved lives as they could. Their rescues included an oddly frozen lake where the flames burned hottest. The Viera that stood within the icy waters appeared frozen in eternal sleep, but when Mani touched the first that attracted his attention, an adolescent even younger than he, he understood that she was still alive. Her skin might have been pallid, her body no longer breathing, and her heart stilled, but life certainly remained within her. Her flow had not been taken, but frozen, like the flawless ice that encased her budding beauty. Sol reached a similar conclusion after assimilating with the ice to verify her brother's far-fetched theory. Whatever had happened, these Viera could still be saved. However, no matter how much they pulled, the ice would not budge. Forced to give up and seek greater assistance, the twins returned to the adults to report the miracle they saw with their own two eyes. Though, much to Sol's irritation, there was nothing the adults could do without containing the blaze first, and much to Mani's irritation, he and Sol were forbidden from returning to the frozen lake to save the rest, out of concern that they would perish to the fire themselves.

                        Until dawn of the next day, when the Great Inferno would finally be chased away from the Viera's homes the frozen viera remained encased in ice. All alive in that strange, otherworldly stasis, and of course, Sol and Mani were the first on the scene, leading the young and the old that remained to search for survivors while the most fit continued to fight the fires in the not so distant distance. Mani, again, tried to save the same young doe as before, and this time, the ice melted with the heat of his body. It took some coaxing, but he freed the frozen Viera from her icy cocoon, and while she coughed out her stilled breath and shivered through the onset of hypothermia, Mani quickly rushed her through the forests to the shamans and medics that could treat her with the others who had also successfully pulled out a living survivor.

                        He wouldn't see the girl he saved again. The Great Inferno was fully contained later that day, and with the immediate threat no more, the men left again. The longer the men remained with the women, the longer the jungle remained poorly protected from outsiders that could bring pestilence and destruction. Though, Mani's master, upon leaving, did also take in one more student under his wing, a young child, barely of the minimum age to even be considered an adolescent. He was younger than Mani had been when he was taken in, but he had lost his mother to the fire and Velimir saw something in his eyes that told him that Kamil, the child, was ready.

                        Kamil was a far better student than Mani, and unlike Mani, no restriction like missing the Leap Month Festivities need be laid down for him. The two now three, they carried on with their daily lives, Velimir teaching his assistants everything he knew, even if that meant nearly killing them once, twice, thrice... Honestly, Mani sort of lost count. Though, no matter how many times he managed to scrabble his way out of death's maw, he never really changed. He continued to spend his sweet time stargazing, and no matter how much Velimir disapproved of Mani's correspondence with his sister, he was a reasonable teacher who let his students do as they pleased so long as they survived.


                        ▰ CLASSES AND STATS

                        First Class: Ninjutsu
                        ▱▰▱ Elemental MasteryThe user's ninjutsu gains the ability to overwhelm techniques of the same rank. The overwhelming trait only applies to a single element at D rank, increasing to two at A rank. Overwhelming properties do not apply to techniques above S Rank. In addition, each rank that you gain an overwhelming property the user gains a free Element PA that allows the user to augment their ninjutsu that gained the property with an additional effect for no resource or action payment, allowing the user's ninjutsu to shine. You gain an additional 4 Ninjutsu per body rank that are dedicated to their primary element. Also, the user gains access to Augment Skill Lines for the cost of it's primary technique slot and is not required to pay additional slots for skills in this line. Rapaccini's daughter/Gu inspired mahofu. A child born to a mad scientist who aspires to create the pinnacle of their bloodline's power, the most poisonous body. Thrown out of Zaishin for their heinous practices. Someone willing to bring forth a child into this world and then subject them to the horrifying process for gu for the sole purpose of making a masterpiece.

- By the influence of douka, every pound of flesh, blood, and breath is poisonous. Vicinity applies tier 1 poison. Contact applies tier 2.
- Blood is poisonous, ketsueki techniques apply poison at tier equivalent to rank.
- Body fluids can be frozen for Hyoton, applying poison at tier equivalent to rank.
- When a technique that uses body fluids destroyed, the normally insignificant residue that results from the destruction becomes dangerous due to the poisonous body fluids. Free E-rank attack that applies poison tier equivalent to the technique destroyed.
- Instead of applying poison effects, poison status can instead apply genjutsu equivalent to tier, creating a new status where the effect is genjutsu and the affliction is poison and must be cured as a poison. genjutsu release, such as kai and pain, do not end the effects.
The very chakra is poisonous, particularly when it pervades the body. Iryojutsu, both helpful and harmful, apply poison. Harmful applies rank tier poison. Helpful applies half rank tier (round up) poison.

That she was born without the mahofu bloodline makes her a mistake. That she held the ability to manipulate ice and blood would have made her irredeemable under normal circumstances. She failed to inherit the key bloodline from her father and also inherited the wrong bloodline from her mother, who's probably dead at this point. The only reason the child wasn't tossed out and made into fodder for a more perfect offspring is because she still held the potential for implants despite being th dual bloodline birth travesty she is (see Dual Ancestry). She is an unnecessary mar on the doctor's perfect plans, but human subjects are hard to come across and she was barely salvageable, so she still has use. At the very least, the philosophy of Gu is the sacrifice of many lives for the perfection of one. The next experiment can cannibalize her as a stepping stone to perfection.

Death is this child's fate. Rather than making the child doom and gloom, this fatalistic acceptance has made the child a hedonist, but not necessarily in a bad way. Think more "Your Lie in April." They treat every day as their last chance to live to the fullest.

Biography: Giacomo Rappaccini is a mad scientist, so mad that he was exiled from the Mahofu clan and he, in his rage at being so dishonored, exiled the clan in kind, discarding the Mahofu name he had of old and taking on a new name, his current name.

Rose's younger brother, Viator, was considered a much more successful experiment than her.
