It took them over a week to get there at a relaxed pace, but eventually, the grand gate of the Storm Village rose up to meet them- a large metal structure towering over a river that flowed between two mountain peaks. It was a harsh contrast with Uzu's own gates which were stationed low in a valley "There it is, Koutetsu!" He said, gesturing to the gates "The front door of the Storm Village!" The Raiken was visibly excited- so many new and interesting people to fight! It seemed he had almost forgotten his obligation to train his disciple and had dragged the boy here for the singular purpose of 'because he I can.' Spinning on his heel, Karuto would address the boy as he walked backward, still beaming with a grin "Remember- keep your friend in check as best you can and let me do all the talking" Spinning back around the Raiken took off at what he considered to be a modest jog- a pace which left Kouetsu floundering in the dust behind him.
By the time the boy caught up he would see Karuto finally making his way through a line of civilians and approaching a pair of red tight-wearing strangers "Uh, hey, is this how we...uh, check in? My name's Karuto, I'm traveling with my apprentice Koutetsu here" He said, looking over his shoulder and pointing to the boy in the crowd "I'm a traveling athlete and was hoping to compete in an upcoming weightlifting competition here" As if to emphasize the point, Karuto drew himself up to his full seven and a half foot of height and flexed his bicep. He raised an eyebrow at the gate guard "Eh? Think I may have a good shot!"
The poor girl seemed shaken and ultimately discouraged. Facing punishment for her 'lies' as it was, was simply both them placing their hands forward and shaking their heads. The poor gal left defeated but the two men in tights felt their job well done. When Karuto approached and began to ask about entry into the village the two spandex-clad men looked at each other. "TRAVELING ATHLETE HE SAYS SO BOLDLY WHITE LIGHTENING! COULD THIS TRULY BE THE CASE!""HO RED THUNDER WITH SUCH WELL DEFINED MUSCULATURE IT SEEMS UNDOUBTEDLY SO!" the man's partner would stare at the one whom spoke blankly only to be pulled aside in a two-man huddle. "It's thundering red get it together man. I swear to the six paths it's not that hard to remember.""Thundering red, red thunder what's the difference?""You know what mr. its that kind of attitude that's going to make people think we're a joke. Now get it together." Snapping back into position side by side they'd strike their trademark pose as their helmets glinted as if nothing happened. "VERILY MAN WITH IMPRESSIVE PECTORALS A MOST UNFORTUNATE THING WE MUST INFORM!""A COMPETITION OF SUCH SORTS VERY WELL MAY ALREADY COME AN GONE, AN IMPENDING ATTACK COULD OCCUR AS EARLY AS THE DAWN!""KNOW THAT WE MUST GUARD THESE GATES FROM ANY ROGUEISH NEER'DO WELLS SO THAT OUR DEFENSES DO NOT FALL PREY TO THE TRICKS OF OUR ATTACKERS LIKE THAT OF THE LAND WHERE WHIRLPOOLS SPIN!""YOUR ABS THEY TELL US YOU ARE HONEST, ALTHOUGH YOUR ENTRY AND ACTIONS WILL HAVE THE UTMOST ALERT TO ALL!" essentially it seemed this 'dynamic duo' would grant Karuto entry but something would strike odd. The Land where Whirlpools spin fell prey to attackers? Despite the strangeness of it all the security was being incredibly strict heavily implying once entering the village they would be monitored heavily.

Karuto smiled. He liked these guys. They seemed like some fun people to lift with. Their funny back and forth brought a low chuckle from his lips, but that smile quickly vanished when the pair informed him that the Whirlpool Village had recently been attacked and that the Storm Village would soon be next. He was very confused- there's no way that could be true. No, they had to be mistaken. Chie would have sent for him if such a thing had happened. Right, yeah, definitely a mistake. Karuto managed to keep his composure despite the internal struggle and main a neutral expression on his face "Whoa- that sucks. Well, thanks for the help fellas. Er...White Thunder, Red Lighting- I'll catch you guys later" With a pleasant nod, he turned and signaled for Koutetsu to join him at the front of the line. They were cleared and could now enter

In the little hidden village of literature, there lived a ninja named Lemony Snicket who was well known for his scrolls on the Baudelaire academy students. Dictating a supposed history of three academy students and a wicked instructor, the scroll series had become quite popular within the ninja world. The title of the series seemed to fit the coming situation quite accurately: A Series of Unfortunate Events.
It should be noted that prior to this extra long training trip, Koutetsu had been temporarily stripped of Shinobi title. Thus he was not privy to the ongoings and terrible consequences that had developed some manner of enmity between the two villages. During his training, they had focused on the history of the various villages but hadn't touched on the immediate threat that Chie had decided was too much to let an untrained Jinchuriki face. They had been rushed out of the village before he could have received an update. On the way to Arashigakure itself, Karuto and he had been discussing Combat strategies and what it was like in some of the battles the Raiken had fought in. So it was little wonder what the consequences might be if Koutetsu was brought to a potential enemy while ignorant of an unstable political climate.
Having watched his Sensei sprint towards the gates, Koutetsu shrugged and followed. If he wants to talk to them, then sure. I'll get there soon enough. Though at least he thinks we're friends, Gobi-san."Yes, Kou-san, as he thinks." Weaving between civilians, Koutetsu made his way to the front of the line where Karuto was signalling him. Catching up to his sensei and the two red wearing gate guards, Koutetsu asked Karuto as they made their way to enter the village, Koutetsu's Uzushiogakure Hitai-ate in full view on his forehead, "What was that they were yelling about whirlpools?"

A glint in thundering reds visor as the boy approached the gate. That glint, of course, was the noticing of the boy's headband. Striking a pose and then hiking one leg into the air he looked to take the appearance of a crane briefly before going from a full stop to launching forward. A dynamic entry flying straight towards the boy. Whether or not he defended himself from the impact, several tucked in spinning backflips followed to whereThundering Red would land next to his partner once more as they posed in perfect unison once more. "Cease thy advance neer'do well!""An athletes associate a nin of the spinning symbol!" They both pointed to Koutetsu accusingly. "Twas your kind that brought about this misfortune first hand!""Twas your kind that tore our gates asunder not long ago!" The two men vanished and reappeared next to Koutetsu as they both locked their arms under his arm pits in a detaining manner therein locking Koutetsu's arms preventing his hands from getting anywhere close to one another. "Be you enemy or be you ally it is our duty to ensure the safety of our civilians!""Indeed! Co-operate and you come under no further scrutiny you will be escorted to the office of our lordship first hand!" They're visors looked to Karuto it was clear the boy was associated with the muscle man "Worry not visiting athleticist! It seems this child is a companion of yours based on what we witness.""We ensure you no harm will come of him so long as he co-operates let this not derail you from touring our village to your hearts content!""We must thusly depart!" The two sentai would then begin a fairly awkward detainment of Koutetsu less he somehow snaked free. Of course if he or his master decided to use demonstrations of force and attempt escape they'd be branded, national enemies that would warrant immediate arrest into incarceration.
As she left, there was one thing Kagerou did on top of changing clothes. From the mother's side of her family, Kagerou had learned of a certain hidden technique. It could alter her physical appearance. Essentially, a henge but more permanent. Considering the nature of this mission and the inevitable interaction with the enemy, who Kagerou couldn't say for certain would be completely caught, she thought it would be best if she hid her identity, not because they might recognize her, but so she can remain unrecognized. After leaving Arashigakure behind with the rest of the squad, Kagerou used the Endless Masquerade technique to change her appearance. From green hair and lucid red eyes, Kagerou changed to a brown-red haired and eyed girl next door appearance. This... she figured... was different enough? • Kiritani Heritage - The Kiritani, the maternal side of Kagerou's family, have a long tradition of serving Kirigakure from the shadows and high standards to match. Being able to cast techniques without hand signs is what they consider the bare minimum, and they expect no less from Kagerou despite her Uchiha surname. Kagerou can replace hand signs/seals with equivalent gestures and motion from the wrists or fingers of one hand. • Hippocratic Oath - Whatever it takes from her, Kagerou is determined to save every life she can, more so than taking any. When a healing eiseijutsu is used, a single healing or situational eiseijutsu of lower rank can be supplemented onto it for no extra cost in chakra or activation. This includes augment techniques. • Nightmare Veteran - There's really no place like home. Even genjutsu struggles to match hellish nightmare created from the mind of an exhausted Jack, and this experience, along with several others, has left the already naturally calm Kagerou even better suited to remain composed in the face of any pressure. She is adept at seeing through genjutsu, and even when she can't (or if the horror turns out to not be genjutsu at all), she's still incredibly difficult to ruffle to the point that once Kagerou recognizes the genjutsu, it loses much of its potency. A recognized genjutsu of lower rank than Kagerou cannot inflict real injuries on Kagerou, and while her physical body within the genjutsu is still affected as normal--being pushed, pulled, bound, or what have you--emotional and other strictly mental sensations have no hold on her. • Inkapocalypse - You thought this was a pun on Inka, but it was me! Dio! Bad jokes aside, the PA really isn't about Inka. Dissatisfied by her cluelessness during the Sero pod event, Kagerou spent days researching sealing, and through sheer repetition, it's become easier for her to use seals. She can write seals up to her body rank on the fly, using even her own chakra manifestation if necessary. Writing a seal takes up the same activation as using it, and in the case when her chakra manifestation is used to form a seal, her chakra becomes visible to the naked eye and she can only extend her manifestation as far as 1m away from her body. For the purposes of this PA, Fuuinjutsu includes the Kuchiyose techniques. When a chakra manifestation seal absorbs something, said something is considered to be stored within her chakra manifestation until it is later released with the appropriate technique. • Blood Moon - In the light of the blood moon, Kagerou maintained her calm and spread it to others. Since then, such a practice has imprinted itself into her eiseijutsu. Targets of Kagerou's eiseijutsu can korabo their kai with the eiseijutsu technique, increasing the strength of their kai by one rank. As per korabo rules, the eiseijutsu technique and kai must be the same base rank.

Note that this does not mean she knows the details of the deception, such as how she is being deceived, what she is being deceived on, to what extent the deception goes, etc. This PA can be countered by either an opposing PA and a higher rank in the psychiatry medical field or by a technique above or at Kagerou's body rank that can obscure truth and lies. • A Sound Mind II - Due to her training in the psychiatry medical field, Kagerou is adept at deceiving others. This PA can be countered by either an opposing PA and equal ranks in the psychiatry medical field or by a technique above or at Kagerou's body rank that can discern truth from lies.

Koutetsu was stopped dead in his tracks as he approached Karuto. A red and white blur flew into his field of view with a boot towards Koutetsu's face. The genin raised his arms up and framed his arm to the side of his head as he moved away from the blow. "Woah!" Koutetsu exclaimed as he adjusted his position to face the two gate guards. A confused, but cautious look crossed his face as he glanced towards the gates, "Tore down the gates? What next? You're going to tell me they got better?" As the guards reappeared grabbing onto him, Koutetsu thought to himself, Well. Guess I'm about to learn a more recent history lesson. Koutetsu looked at Karuto as he was being hauled off and called out, "I don't know what's going on, but I will be alright, Athlete-san." Carefully concealing and continuing the charade Karuto had presented the gate guards. "Go on without me."

The girl was walking towards the large, ominous gates. A cloak covered her, from head to toe, hood pulled up. On her back was a heavy weaponized fan, the handle of which stuck out over her right shoulder. She stopped, a Jounin appeared before her. "I request admittance into Arashigakure, I'm a weary traveler in need of a safe place to stay."

"Oh...you may want to talk to...er them." the Jounin that was stopped would point to two men clad in red suits who were playing rock, paper, sentai, with one another. Where in the scissors is replaced by dramatic posing...it always ended in a tie. They both looked at the wandering youth before noticing they were being pointed at. They would then point back to where in the jounin woman would look rather unenthused before walking aways and waving the girl off "Good luck" The two gate guards then continued their rock paper, sentai match.
Maeko cocked her head back, where the Jounin was pointing. She was actually, totally, not surprised. The crazy looking gatekeepers didn't seem to phase her, she just gave a serious, but deadpan stare. "Alright, thanks lady." She turns and heads into Arashigakure.

__ Kenshin stepped through the Floodgate area and was met with dutiful yet anxious salutes from the guards under his command. The man's very presence made them stand up just that little bit straighter. He was not focused on them, however, he had a mission to fulfill. He moved far away from the gate itself and moved onto the ground level outside of the structure. Once enough distance was gained he began carefully setting up the lightning rod.

Upon placing the device the ground trembled once more and shook, sparks flew...but then stopped. The device did not vanish. It remained in place. Should the Captain look up expectant of lightning once more, he'd find that there was not any and the skies remained clear of any clouds. It begged the question as to whether or not the device was defunct. It would usually be struck by lightning at this point calling it down to its location but this did not happen. No veins of chakra would spread. This was quintessential to the purpose of the device. Perhaps Kenshin could reason based on instructions provided. Maybe it needed a significant jumpstart.

__ He was braced for a lightning surge but did not sense any real activity. He carefully read over the instructions again to make certain that he was installing it correctly. It seemed clear that it malfunctioned and was not working properly. Using the instructions he began repairing it. Once he was done he would back up and wait and see.

Of course, the Captain was no technical wizard. The instructions while followed had several variables that could make the average persons head spin. The typical lightning strike if one were to attribute a rank to it that these devices typically needed could be assumed B-rank in nature. The thing that was not made clear was that the 'lightning' in these instances weren't being made by the devices themselves. It caused ambient lightning and charged particles in the sky to ionize rapidly before calling it down toward a location. These bolts, they were harnessed, reconfigured, exponentially increased, then dispersed through the ground as the energy required to fulfill the widescale criteria for the enchantment. In short. Nothing was wrong with the device. There was just no lightening it could gather from the sky as it was clear. However, to say the Captain's tinkering was fruitless would be an understatement...in fact. It may prove that tinkering with things you lack knowledge in despite a list of what seemed like simple instructions could be a bad idea...if only he knew or tried to produce his own lightening of an equivalent amount to fulfill the conditions, but alas this was not mentioned in the instruction. After all it was implied that the one to be placing these devices prior would have had the knowledge if such problems arose.
Clouds now began to gather in the sky at Kenshin's location. What once was clear skies started growing dark. The device starting letting loose arcing bolts of electricity around the location. Possibly injuring the Captain if he didn't separate himself quick enough. {C-rank Arcing Electricity} Then the storm clouds having gathered began to glow a neon blue. The ionization of the particles increasing rapidly, forcibly... Finally... One MASSIVE bolt of lightning struck the location of the device. It was a success as veins of chakra RAPIDLY began flooding through the ground. However...the storm did not subside. Two more MASSIVE bolts of lightening would then shoot from the ionized clouds towards the village gates and its guardians. {A-rank Bolt of Lightning} but only after the first of the Two bolts came crashing down on Kenshin's location. {A-rank Bolt of Lightning}. The same strategy he used at the academy would not work for him here.
