Solo Title

User Image
Solo Ft. Abel (With permission from Astra)

At a young age, Failyn had never really felt...special. She was a talented artist, a duitful student and the epitome of what would most would call a mild mannered and polite child. She built on the backbone that success was the key to future and that your if your not first.

Your last.

But she didn't feel special. She didn't have long term goals, she barely had short term ones besides satisfying her parents, especially her father and remaining her title as the polite princess of the Namgung family. She didn't feel like she had that spark, that interest in things. She had her hobbies, but hobbies were just that. Hobbies.

She allowed herself a small sigh as she cradled the books for the upcoming placement exams. Crystal academy was nothing but a high end and resourceful school, full of well off families producing well offspring. She liked her school, Its one of the reasons she had agreed with her father to go.

“Ah..” She wasn't one to dally in thoughts though, especially ones that would meltdown into depression . And Fai was not one too dwell in the depressing. The books seemed to weigh though, her daily visit to the library high in her mind, one foot in front of another speeding so she could get there and enjoy the quiet of studying.

“Hey!” The voice startled the girl, stopping her speed walk as she swiveled her head looking for the source. Her eyebrow raised when no one appeared and summed it up to be a mishearing when it called again, “Hey! Your blocking the sun from my view little girl...”

She looked from where she was, up to the sun and then down to where her shadow covered...and she hated to put it so impolitely but a very well fed and seemlessly content kitty. Well kinda of content, it was lazing on its round stomach staring up at her with just the most adorable grumpiest expression.

“That's funny. For a second I thought-” Fai was still staring at the cat.

“Little girl, do you know how many times I've been told that it's funny that a cat can talk? Can we be a little more original here? Now please step to the left so that I can continue sunbathing.” the black cat waved a paw for her to move.

“Oh Excuse me, let me just...” What was going on. Since when did she become the animal whisperer? No, the cat whisperer? Was she going crazy-

“Your not going crazy girl. By the power of the moon, humans can be really stupid.” The cat made a grunt kind of noise before pushing itself up and staring at Failyn. “I can sense a power within you. One of the stars.” He wobbled his way closer to her. “Come down here girl. Let me look at you closer.”

Of course, Fai was kinda of stunned still that she was conversing with a cat but all in all. COULD BE WORSE. “Ah, Yes Mister Kitty.” She squatted down, placing the books off to the side of her and proceeded to rest her hands on her knee's. “What should I do now mister Kitty?”

“The name is Abel.” The cat snapped before reaching a paw up to touch her leg. “Yes, A power within you. I found another one.” The cat removed his paw and turned on his heel, stalking off to disappear beneath bushes.

“Ah Mister Kitty?” Fai had no idea what to do. Part of her thought it would be smarter...and SANER to just leave the area. But that wasn't very polite, especially since the cat had not given her any reason to make her sure that he was done with her.

She probably waited another couple of minutes when Abel returned.

“Your still here?” Abel just blinked, “What dumb girl waits around...Nevermind. Look I have something for you.” The cat's tail curled around a dark purple pen object before dropping it in front of her face. “That's for you. Your a special girl, only you can use it.”

“Oh...Thank you for the gift Mister Abel Kitty.” Failyn picked it up and studied it. “But if you don't mind me asking...how is a pen special?

“That's not just any pen!” Abel fluffed up, “It'd be better if you just said this and saw for yourself. Okay. I'm going to tell you only once girl, Its pretty embarassing for a cat to have to say it but-” He peered at her, “Are you ready?”

“Ready when you are sir.” She smiled.

“Humph. Alright. You say Henshin: Power, Make-Up!” Abel held up his paw as if to demonstrate how she should hold the pen.

Mimicking him, the girl brought her hand out and held the pen up. Feeling silly and thankful no one would see something so embarassed. “Henshin: Powering Make-up!”

When nothing happened at first, she stood awkwardly with the pen held out. Abel seemed to watch intently before scoffing. “Maybe I was wrong-”

“Oh sorry, I think I said it wrong.” Failyn blanked...”let me try one more time. Henshin Power, Make-up!” The pen started to glow, her eyes widening as warm light surrounded her. Her usual academy uniform disappeared as a new outfit replaced it. A delicate pattern of cranes, boots, a sash. Around her forehead felt the tightening of a band.

“Ah see. There you could do it...when you do it right.” Abel studied the new Senshi and then nodded. “I had a feeling you'd be one of the good ones. What's your name kid?”

“Ah Failyn?” She was turning circles as she stared at her new outfit and then back to Abel. “What is going on?”

“Well Failyn, you were chosen to be a senshi of the universe. Okay wait, I can't take your name seriously. Your name is...Mintaka.” Abel looked a little smug, “Sailor Mintaka...of...”

“Origami.” Fai had closed her eyes and then opened, knowning that the name he had given her somehow felt right, “It feels like Origami.”

“Great, well you've tapped into your sphere, named after a piece of the universe. Your goal is to help rid the earth of an evil presence known as the Youma's...” Abel started to circle around her, “You'll be thrown in to battles soon enough now that you've awoken.” He grumped, “And I've wasted enough time. I've got other things to worry about you know.”

“Wait...Wait your just going to leave me like this?” Failyn..no..Mintaka eye's widened. “How do I turn back to normal!?!?”

“Don't care Sailor Mintaka. Why don't you just round around like that for awhile and get used to it!” Abel shifted his weight and then tried to jump to the ledge...failing miserably. Mintaka picked him up and placed him up instead. “Look it's better if you just go with the flow kid. Everything you need will awaken within you now.” He started to pace away before stopping.

“And if you need anything else, there is other Sailors around. Find them, learn from them, become strong and rid the world of the youma's. Not so hard.”

“Not so hard?” Mintaka tugged on her glove and just stared at the disappearing butt of Abel. Just...And she had been worried that she wasn't special before this even all happened! “I guess...I'll go to the library like this.”

Or not...Maybe she should just study here in this secluded spot instead.

PAST LIFE/PAST WORLD

User Image

The World:

Plural/Possessive: Mintakians
Main Exports: Clothing, Parchment, Bamboo, Rice, Fish, Paper arts, Vegetables.
Main Imports: Dairy, Meats, Metals, Oil.
Industries: Agriculture, Clothing, Knowledge
Inspirations: A serene combination of traditional asian temples and gardens, with edo period like structures.
Capital City: 종이 크레인 도시
jong-i keulein dosi (Rough translation: Paper Crane City)

Castle: 제국 종이 접기 성
jegug jong-i jeobgi seong (Rough translation: Imperial Origami Castle)

World: Mintaka is a star some 916 light years distant[4] in theconstellation Orion. It has aBayer designation of Delta Orionis (δ Ori) and a Flamsteed designation of 34 Orionis. The name Mintaka comes from منطقةmanṭaqa, which means "the belt" in Arabic.[5] Together withAlnitak (Zeta Orionis) andAlnilam (Epsilon Orionis), the three stars make up the belt of Orion, known by many names among ancient cultures. When Orion is close to the meridian, Mintaka is the right-most of the belt's stars as seen by an observer in the Northern Hemisphere facing south.

Mintaka is actually double star anamoly, where one star is brighter then the other, while the other is smaller and dimmer. They orbit each other. In between them is a small asteroid that was caught between their graviontional pull where the city and castle of Mintaka is formed. Because of the anamoly, Mintaka's weather shifts from warm rain, to dry heat. The tempature is usually constant from 60 to 80, never going higher then that. Because it's lined between two stars, It has a constant support of light (think Alaska during the summer) and only goes dark during rain storms.

The world before: Before the wars, Mintaka was a singular planet only big enough for one large city and smaller outlining farms. Heavy Bamboo forest thickened the rest of the planet (with a lot of lakes), making it unhabitable beyond the Paper Crane city and it's outlining farms. The community was just as small, specilizing in farming, and artistic endevors with paper folding and writing. Because of the rain, Mintaka specilizes in grain like farming goods, especially rice. Animals are very rare, but the most common and probably the only one that the people see are animals similar to Earth's Cranes. They are called Senarcs, and can be found wild or as house pets.

(Other animals are: Sregit, which look like white tigers and are the largest predators of the planet, they are usually left alone by mintakians. However the royal family keeps at least one for a pet, usually a small cub plucked from the wild to raise with the emperor/empress. Iok, small but gorgeous fish that inhabit most of the lakes, some are kept in royal ponds, for looks and others are kept for food. Fish farms are not rare in the backyards of most Mintakians. Grofs, small water inhabiting creatures like frogs, but with tongues and fangs of a snake. They are another predator, and their poison is lethal. If caught though, and the poison extracted, it makes for a smooth colored (based off the grof's skin color which can vary from blue, red, black and even white) ink and lastly the Silkcoons, which are not really a animal but a living organism. When harvested, they can be spun into thread which makes the clothing that most Mintakians wear.)

Government: Mintaka relies on a system of Empire where the power is held in one being, usually a Empress but in rules past there has been Emperors. A Empress/Emperor is chosen by a side group of royal family, usually by the symbol on the head of their planet itself, though if not found, it would go to the oldest of the Royal families children. Once an Emperor or Emperess is chosen, their duties are but not limited too, intergalatic negoations (For trade or Allies in war), Fair equalization of goods among it's people. Public apperances to any social event of importance (marriages, Birth of children). It maybe seem a lot, but the planet only houses at most 1500 mintakians. A empress/emperor is also well skilled in combat, and proper etiquette of a royal. Both must be an achieved balance. Once the status achieved, An Emperor/Empress gains a small specilized group of ninja-esque (knights) as guards and friends.

Senshi's are rare, and limited to the royal family only, more on that down below.

Economy: Mintakians are a humble race of people, who prefer to live modestly. Rice and bamboo is abundant in their planet, and most were content to stay that way. It wasn't till the fourth reign of the Emperor's, were they approached for open trading as well as tourism. The emperor agreed to trade, as to further enrich his people's well beings, but declined tourism. The planet would only be open to house other royal familues or embassiers for discussions or political ally ties. As such, their trade ties are very strong with other planets but at most, they were very neutral in politics.

Culture: Mintakians, as simple people, preferred to find beauty in things they could make themselves from the lands themselves. The palace is always open to it's people, and the Empress/Emperor is never exclusive to just the royal family. Often you could come visit, take walks around the gardens and small ponds.

Because they are a farming community as well, They have a very good neighbor to neighbor relations, making for a very tight knit community. Marriage and Child bearing are just as celebrated as the royal families birthdays or festivals dedicated to their culture.

A large reoccuring theme among Mintakians is the ability to form art from paper. As such, it's become a huge way of communication among Mintakians for the smallest things. Crane shaped origami was often seen as a sign of friendship, or a way to call from help for friends. Hearts and stars were a sign of love, and to give someone a jar of a 1000 paper stars was a way to propose marriage to a loved one. Paper shurikans were a method of communication between the royal family and their guardians, usually small notes tucked in the paper to warn of danger, should there be any.

Fashion: Because of their climate, Mintakians like loose and breathable clothing. If it was to compare to anything, think of Yukata's and Kimono's of the asian culture. Often made of silk of their own harvest, but not limited to cotton and animal fur (from trading), the clothing is died with the ink of the Grofs for color. Most clothing though tends to stick to white, blues, reds and blacks. There is usually some intricate design, but it is really up to the silkweilders.

Royal family usually has more intricate layered clothing of all colors, and at least one outfit that matches their guards. Guards always wear dark blue or black form fitting body suits with a short kunoichi top. (Think ninja's)

Architecture and Transportation: Because the homes are built of cobble and bamboo, they often take a look of edo period houses. Stone fences, Bamboo walls and stone shingled roofs. Most of the houses rely on mainly bamboo and stone to be built. Very rare, if the trade product was brought in, some of the homes have wood.

Sailor Mintaka: Sailor Mintaka has usually always been born a female of the royal family, as it tended to keep in their bloodlines. Very rare instances in the history of Mintaka, was a male born as the sailor, and if they were, they didn't last long as their bodies were not able to handle the power of a Sailor.

Sailor Mintaka's are usually the one that becomes a Empress/Emperor, as they have the mark on their forehead as well as the powers to protect their land. Mostly, they were taught to be kind and careful with their powers, to be modest and thus, made it difficult for the Sailor mintaka's to incoporate into the glaxay system.

A Faded Memory of Gardens

User Image

A past memory: Part 1 (Solo)

A dream consisted of many things, Failyn would like to think. It was projected images that she had taken in walking back and forth from home to school to tutuoring. It was past memories melded with new ones, or it could be her wildest fantisies and wishes.

Sometimes it could be her worse fears, following her, trapping her.

When she went to sleep, she went to sleep with a antcipation that she would find herself in sleep. In her own brain. Perhaps it would show of her the what to comes...of the what has beens.

Her head rested on the pillow, lulling herself to a quiet sleep. When she woke...she woke in a different form, in a different place.

---

Empress was a title that held many responibilites. Mintaka would like to think. She folded her hands into the intricate layers of her sleeves, looking over the small city that she ruled. A city that she loved for it's quiet dignfied lifestyle. She had been to the other worlds, seen many flashy, many dangerous enviroments.

But it was her home that made her the happiest. She could spend hours watching the gentle rain on her ponds, the colorful fish scales that would brush the surface and bring her a small amount of thrill against the contrast of the dark waters.

And if you listened carefully, the wind would weep through their bamboo forest, a soft lute of notes rising from the forest as if it was alive.

She could see fellow royal family members look from their task, looking to their forest with a happiness. If she walked a bit further down her wooden hallways, she would see her shadow knights.

---

Failyn stumbled in the dream, the vision blurry as she passed the knights, whoever they were. It cut back out, turning into a dream of school life. She sat at her desk at Crystal academy, playing with the pen on her desk. Her henshin pen. She would roll it back and forth between her palm and her desk, a habit of late. Abel, the cat that had awoken her, told her to seek others like her.

She could only name a few from the top of her head, and they sat in class with her now. Flora, with her pretty flowers and strong powers. Phact with her jumper and elegance, smiling at the teacher. Aeria, who sat across from her, sipping a cup of tea. Draconis loud and abrasive in the back with a cocky grin.

Why was she the only one not in her senshi form?

Her dreamself willed her to change, but instead of the white bodice and short skirt, it was layers and layers of material.

Slowly, it started to drown her, slowly it started to envelop her.

---

And when she woke for real, she swore she still felt the smooth feel of silk and the whistle of bamboo. And the question..Why was she the only one not a senshi?

The Blinding Memory of Spring

User Image

A past memory: Part 2 (Solo)

She wasn't asleep this time, when the memory hit. It had been after her days of being active as a Senshi. Her nightly patrols becoming more regular, her powers growing the more she tested them. Though she was in no means...a super senshi, or a eternal senshi, Phrases she learned from the cell system she had discovered from another senshi, but her confidence in herself was growing as well.

She had a clearer idea of where she wanted to be in the senshi world, and a clear idea of making her cilivan life reflect it without hindering it.

Her gaze had been lingering on the tall spring bloomed branches outside of her school, small white and pink petals falling like snow. The memory? The glimpse had hit her fast, her hand coming to rest on one of the stone walls of the school as it played through her head.

---

“A spring branch for nuturing, A spring branch, the symbol of a new start, the blooming of life.” The white haired finely clothed lady laid down a simple branch of blossoms at the side of the mother, who cradled a newborn babe in her arms. “A life that is precious, and welcomed in our land. My prayers, my hopes and dreams that-” She looked to the mother, who uttered her son's name, “that this young boy grows strong and brave and kind. If you ever need anything, young mother, do not hesitate to call upon us royals.” The mother shook her head, cradling the babe close to her and uttering joyful thanks, while her husband bowed to them.

“A new life. Bless our cosmos that we can continue such wonders.” The young heiress rose with a polite nod. As she exited the small home, her hand came to touch her cheek, where a small wetness had formed. She knew it was of joy. Her people grew, thrived. For a life lost of old age, a new one was born everyday. Was it the blessing of the galaxies? The Cauldron that she had only once visited to find her planets place in the world. Would she be rebirthed over as well? Would she keep the mannerism and love for her people when she did? She hoped, with her heart that she would. That this cycle would never end, that her planet would never end.

It was a peaceful cycle she enjoyed, A peaceful cycle she could protect.

---

Failyn shook the memory, nothing more then a glimpse, blurry and faded. She was curious about the polite royal, who cared more for her people then herself. And why she appeared in her dreams and in daydreams. Perhaps it was a book she had read? The clothing would probably be of the Japanese era, if she was to say. Or Asian themed. Plus being from a Korean family, traditional garbs didn't seem so far fetched of her memory to play on.

But the school bell rang a moment later, distracting her from her thoughts and thoroughly diminshing the memory as for the first time in her young high school life. She was late for class.

The Neverending Circle of Wonders

User Image

A running Circle (Solo)

Failyn drew three circles, connecting them on the piece of paper. Over one was Senshi, with the names of the ones she had met. Over another was Dark Mirror Court, with the senshi from that group filled in.
Underneath was the Negaverse with the lituenents...thinking later on it, she added a circle for the knights and their names.

Then she tapped her pen to the paper. Under certain names, she underlined them. Nysa, Zinkenite, Phact and Chariklo. Four people that were signifigant in her journey. Though they were brief meetings, they opened doors of information for her. From Phact, she felt a bond of being new. Perhaps the girl suffered the same mistakes of the senshi world, which was the lone wolf patrolling.

And the led her to Zinkenite's words. Their court was a monster in disguise, but she didn't find that surprising now. The world was not Black and white, evil vs good. Their was emotions and people, worlds and planets that she never knew exsisted in a fight for who was right. Was it dominace of the universe? Is that what they acquired?

Nysa had been searching for his princess, and now that seemed not so much of the goal. She wondered if he had seen something worse, or if his princess was not what she was built up to be. It worried her, and the rumors of the White court princess also didn't help. Without their court, they were letting senshi and negaverse run rampant.

Chariklo though, she spoke of a court that was whole. With a princess that cared, and a team that would be willing to teach her. She thought of the temptations, the easy will it would be to give in because she had it so tough and sighed. Perhaps she should learn more of herself, before flitting to sides she didn't even understand.

Mintaka thought of her planet, what the world there must be like. Astrology speaking, her star was part of the Orion belt, and was not in fact, one star but two. How would a world thrive between two stars.

Her pen tapped again, touching down gently on the paper.

As soon as it did though, she zoned out. It was probably a minute, maybe even less, but when she came back...looking down at her piece of paper, it was a small drawing of the two stars of Mintaka, labelled and in between them was a small asteroid/planet. Over the small planet was the word home.

“I see.” She tapped her pen to the planet, “We should go home to see it soon huh Mintaka.” it seemed her powered form yearned for something, to be more learned about. Failyn stared at the four original circles and then her home drawing..

She had made a promise, to Zinkenite, and when she went to her home, she hoped to take him along with her, to learn herself and to show Zinkenite the wonders of her Senshi world.

The Planet of Mintaka

User Image

The first Visit to Mintaka

Mintaka wasn't usually so quiet on night's like these, placed on a empty roof with her cellphone in her hand. The device had become her newest study guide to her court, to her powers and had informed her of many things, of all the things. In one particular fascinating article, it detailed how one was to go to their planet. She was ready, she wanted to see it, what the planet was. Why it called to her, why it sent her memories she didn't remember. A past life.

She wanted to know the past of Mintaka.

She let her gaze wander to the stars, closing her eyes, breathing slowly. She let her mind empty of thoughts, and listened, listened carefully. At first all she could hear was cars, obnoxious music from downstairs, laughing even further away. Just when she thought she would lose her concetration, she felt a tug....a soft song of wind...much like the sounds made when wind blows through bamboo, the tapping of the plants together.

She didn't know how, but her hand pressed the middle button of her cellphone. And she was gone. There was no sounds but the soft breeze. The clicking of bamboo.

When she opened her eyes, she was surprised to see instead of a roof, she was in the rubble of a building...or what had been a large building. Walls covered in foliage, and roof caved in. Flowers grew from the ground, peeking through wooden floors.

“I DID IT.” She clenched her fist, grinning. She had done it, finally. Finally she acheieved what all senshi wished for. A visit to her home planet. She studied her surroundings, taking in the rubble, the room in it's glory. Picking up a chunk of it would reveal it was stone and clay, matching the brief memories in her head. Grass had far covered the buildings, untouched by anyone in centuries. She walked the room once before leaving an opening, leaving the room and realizing that she in fact was walking on bamboo floors, like a porch or hallway of the buildings she had seen in Korea. Like the old temples of Korea, if she was to put it. Further out, she could see an overgrown road, leading into a forest of bamboo. Instead of taking the road, she circled around the building she was in now, taking the hallway and stepping into an overgrown garden of nostaligia. She had seen this garden twice before in dreams, and though overgrown, she could make out the ponds, the small bridge. If she looked into the water, she knew she would still see the bright scales of the fish that homed there. She knew this was the home of the former Mintaka. The empress of the planet.

---

“Empress, tonight is the night.” A young warrior, her guardian solider, with his face hidden under his mask walked close to her side, through the hallway. They paused together, her delicate hands placing on the railing while her guard stood stiffly behind her, crossing his arms behind his back.

“Tonight is the night. We will welcome the moon queen...” She looked over at her guardian, “And we will discuss the war that is going on.”

“Are we to join?” he asked.

“No. I will not join a war that I do not see our people benefiting from. We are peaceful people, not soliders.” She frowned, “I offer neutrality, and should either side wish it, our planet will be a safe haven for anyone.” She looked at her guard. “Do you think it foolish?”

---

Mintaka brought her hand up to the railing, touching the spot where the empress had once, broken in half where the empress had stood once, looking into the garden she now stood in.

“Do you think it foolish to wish for neutrality?” the voice whispered in her head. Mintaka shook her head.

“I do not. It will exist. There is no black and white in war. Only grays.” Mintaka let her hand drop. “Next time I come, I will show you. I will show them. This is the planet Mintaka, the planet of haven.” She turned away, “I will return Empress, with your ideals.” She promised this to herself. She didn't have much longer to stay, as her magic was taxing on her. The next time though, she would bring Zinkenite and she would bring Remarque. To show that her planet was not just some other one in war, but something more. She would make it more. She would make herself more.

Desperation

Auro and Tantalus are missing

With Chariklo's shift in alliance, and Mintaka's doubts into why she had chose the Dark mirrors, the origami senshi would find herself in mirrorspace, lamenting the days that passed that she couldn't see her friend anymore. That she would never get to see the side of Chariklo that wasn't shrouded. To see the woman as more then Chariklo. Whoever was the unpowered side.

Aurostibite had calmed her down, but she still took chances to mope in the everchanging smoke and rooms of Mirrorspace. She found new rooms, new places to hide. New ways to lock away emotions in the space that she didn't have before. Each room she found was another hide away from the sadness that didn't seem to end.

But Aurostibite had calmed her down, and she had Damocles and Tantalus. The two brothers who treated her like one of their own, embraced them into the fold of their family. Damo had let her cry on him, let her cry for hours. Tantalus had held her, helped her. Between the three men, she felt almost normal again.

And then Aurostibite hadn't been home. Magiore...hadn't been home. She had waited hours. One turned to Three to Twelve, to thirty six. It suddenly went from...One day missing, two days missing.

She had been sick with worry, calling Kodi, calling anyone she could. She asked among the Negaverse, the other dark mirrors. She had even captured a Order senshi, threatened her with harm until the girl broke down crying saying there was no nega's that had been attacked.

Mintaka was a mess. She didn't sleep the whole time he was gone. She didn't eat.

Damocles would find her like that, gather her up in the apartment with others she didn't know, but it didn't matter. Aurostibite was gone.

And now so was Tantalus.

Something had taken her boys, and she would not rest until she could find either of them.

She came home to Lance, some nights. Exhausted and tired. She would find her little bed she had made at his place, and curl into the covers and sleep for a couple of hours. Then she would sneak out, go looking again.

She knew Lance did the same. Even when he gave her worried looks, concerned touches on the shoulder, reminders to at least eat....She knew he was looking as desperately as she was.

One night, he came home, not even minutes after she had. She watched him curl up anywhere in the bedroom, as their puppy Lady came over and sleep next to him. She could see bags under his eyes, the wrinkle of worry on his forehead. The way his eyes didn't close.

Both of them wished for the same thing, Sleep peacefully, with their loves one returned to them.

Both of them were trapped here, with no clues. No hints.

No trace of either of Aurostibite and Tantalus.

She squeezed her eyes shut.

“I miss you, My heart.” she whispered, rolling on her side to look away from Lance. “We'll find you...”
