Failyn had finished setting up a mirror for the dark mirror court to use as transport to the large if not rundown estate further out from the city. Her grandparents, god rest their souls had been far more generous in their inheritance to her, with a large sum of money and the estate as final gifts before passing. And she had used what money she could and the estate to be a base for those who didn't want to fight at all.
With the help of those she smuggled out, and with other members trying to get out, the 10 bedroom and 6 bathroom estate was slowly being refurnished into livable standards for people. Water ran, electricity was good, heating was the hardest with the draftyiness of the building as a whole but she had invest money in blankets and wood for the old school fireplaces. Added to the 10 acres of free land space for tents, Fai had really established a good safe haven for all sorts of members of the war.
She wiped her brow, as the mirror was set in one of free rooms, and checked her phone for the time. She should probably see what else she could do before heading home. Where ever she looked, she could only see work that needed to be done again. But what made her stop was at the window where she could see some of the people outside. One was a negaverse general who had grown weary of the struggle, and one was a freshly popped chibi senshi she had saved from the senshi hunters. Both were in their civilian forms, the child sitting on the woman's lap as they read some sort of book. They were opposite sides, and they coexisted normally. Something she helped them see was okay.
She looked away from the window, reassuring herself that this was the good path. She would make a change if she could. She just didn't want to give up hope that there couldn't be peace

He'd been watching her for several minutes now, standing in front of the mirror, and the room was otherwise empty. Magiore had stood silently several feet away, leaning against the door frame with his arms folded across his chest. She hadn't noticed he was there yet, which he liked, because it meant he could look at her for a few moments in peace, simply enjoying the expressions on her face and the way in which she moved.
He knew it was dangerous, being here, but his civilian identity was still unknown to most, and his feelings towards Failyn had long since grown past the simple interested stage. His appearances in the house were sporadic at best, but this was one of those times he'd felt intensely that he wanted to see her for more than just a few moments, unlike their last meeting, too long ago. Magiore's eyebrows drew together, lips set in a straight line as he silently followed her around the room with his gaze, waiting until she had averted her own from the window to make his presence known.
Silently he slipped from the doorway and stepped in, crossing the room until he was behind her. Magiore's arms slid around her waist from behind, and he leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss to the side of her neck before settling his chin on the top of her head, swaying a little. His own long dark hair was pulled back into a simple ponytail at the base of his neck, the thick curls sweeping against his lower back.
She wiped grime away with the butt of her hand. She would go talk to the former general, maybe the woman would like to take a few more kids under for story time. Perhaps she could start up a daycare for some...or maybe make a small playground for the children. It was tough to move them here and expect them to be entertained.
She almost jumped at the arms wrapping around her before laughing. Magiore.
"Sneaking up on a lady alone in a room. You villian." She was teasing, and before he could move away, leaned back on him. "Had I known you were visiting, I would've prepared myself a little more.."
A pleased glint showed though at his appreciation for the room. "This is for the dark mirror court to come too. Mirrorspace is convenient for them to travel, I want to make it possible for all of them."

He felt her lean against him, her back pressing against his chest, and Aurostibite tightened his grasp on her, resisting the urge to keep her there forever. He knew the villain comment was meant to be a jest, a tease, but a faint wince passed across his face anyway at the truth of it; hopefully she wouldn't notice.
"Has anyone else shown up today?" Magiore asked, and kissed the top of Failyn's head, finally loosening his arms, though he reached for her hand and entwined their fingers together, his grip firm and steady. "I don't have long; maybe an hour or two this time, before I have to report back."
"Drake's downstairs with the kids!" Fai mentioned casually, the dark mirror senshi of hydras had been a blessing and a good friend. And one of the few she trusted to maintain the haven while she was away. "He's knocked down a wall and combined a couple of the rooms for a classroom, the kids adore him I think."
She played with his fingers as they laced together and swung them a little. The news that he would have to check in was no surprise, but still disheartening. The tabs on everyone were getting harder to escape from, and soon, they'd be the shackles keeping everyone pinned down.
She shook her head as if to the lose the heavy thoughts. "Arilee stopped earlier in the week, and I'm sure you know how that goes." The princess of the dark mirror court and Mintaka's closest friend always had choice words about Safe Haven. "But she brought news and that's good. Order's upping their patrols around their HQ." She added casually, a warning for him to avoid the area if he could. "Do you want to help me with some of the things upstairs? I'm cleaning out the third floor rooms and the attic for more space."
