The meeting place was in the open, quiet but still in the open. A small cafe on the corner of the street, where Failyn had taken the furtherest outside seating, placing her college books and sipping on some tea. Dennis had messaged her with potential information that would be beneficial for her and her agenda of refugees. At least it would've been, had it not been a week ago that she had found out she was pregnant. And rightly so, she couldn't ask a normal doctor in the city why it was that when she was carrying, her powers weren't working.
At first they had faltered, and she had felt sick. But she could still power up and do things. Now, as she hit the first month. (Excited, giddy, terrified and worried), Her powers had stopped all together. She was...blissfully and horridly normal. It meant so many things for everyone.
It meant for her and Magiore, a beautiful combination of their love. Would this baby have his raven black hair and her soft blue eyes? Would it be Senshi, or Negaverse? She wanted to meet her or him, so much already, and her hand patted her stomach. 23 years old with her first child. In war, she was going to be a mother.
But for the Safe haven, it meant that she was no longer able to ferry people there, that she'd have to ask others and that could lead to a trap. She'd have to ask Chariklo, maybe move the current residents closer to the order HQ.
So many things troubled her mind, and her hands shook on the teacup, setting it down for the briefest moment. Take a breath, talk to Dennis. Then she'd go from there.

Dennis Terry did not actually spend too much time powered down these days. He liked to do his enforcing as a negaverse soldier, where he felt his most powerful and, really, his most bad a**. Still, even asa civilian he carried himself with confidence and the air of someone who thought he knew just how good he was.
And he was damn good.
Except at the 'don't fraternize with the enemy' thing. That needed a bit of work. But he was not going to worry about that right now. Or ever, probably, unless he was forced to by being caught. He was not concerned about things like that though, as he was a part of that wing of the Negaverse, so he felt like he could cover his tracks well enough. Time would tell for that.
Wandering into the cafe like a guy set to meet someone there for some perfectly normal thing, definitely not senshi or negaverse related, he spotted the rather knew face of his civilian friend. He'd only seen her once before, after all, but now she seemed far more familiar once that magic blocking him from recognizing her as her senshi self was gone.
"Imagine meeting you here," he said jovially.

The minute Dennis joined her at the table she stood, smiling at him. "Dennis!" She went to offer him a seat, as a wave of vertigo and nausea hit and had her resting her hands on the table instead. Whoo, dizzy spells too. She had a lot to look forward too.
"Forgive me." She took a breath, pushing white hair from her forehead and trying again. "Hello Dennis! Hello, Please, take a seat here." She patted the chair next to him, sitting back down and taking a sip of her tea.
"And yes imagine that, I hope work has been fairly easy of course." She made the statement as generic as possible, in case he was like Magiore and cared about his civilian identity being compromised. Well, like Magiore was before. Now the man didn't care and was blissfully all hers.
"Sorry to call you out so far. You had news for me?" She questioned, "Oh and I have news for you as well. I hope you don't mind a share of information concerning..." She pursued her lips..."Movements?"

"You alright?"
Dennis watched her as she wavered, frowning at the green look that came over her. If she was going to throw up, he was going to move. The last thing he wanted was to have to go home and clean sick off his nice pants. That was not what he was expecting when he came out to meet her today, and he most certainly would have declined the meeting had it come with a warning.
"I just want you to know what patrols are doing what," he said, very quietly. He smiled, pretending to be talking about something light hearted and silly, and took a piece of paper out of his pocket, handing it to her. "I drew you a picture. You might recognize some of those corners, though there are new things standing on them."
He was not the best at being super subtle, but his message was there at least. There were new patrols and he did not want the path she took with her escapees being compromised by the addition of extra Nega eyes around the city.
"I'm particularly proud of the bear."
He had drawn the picture in images that reflected street names, a list of all the places where patrol paths were different or added to.
"You said you wanted to tell me something, too?"

"I'm alright, oh you're making a face." She laughed a little, "Don't worry, I've just had a week of morning sickness and sometimes I get little dizzy spells here and there. I just got up too fast..." She explained and rested a hand on her stomach, bending to look over his paper.
"Oh..oh Dennis this is so much. You don't know how much this will help." She smiled up at him, pointing her finger on some of the images. "You should be very proud of the bear." She memorized the patrols, the streets, the code he was using and then tucked the paper into her bag. With added eyes there, and less here, she could easily maneuver people around the city until they were free from it.
"Yes yes, I do have something to tell you." She waited a minute, mulling over the best way to explain it. "Well I suppose beating around the bush won't do anything, so I'll just say it outright. I'm pregnant." She bit her lip, "and my activities as Mintaka will no longer be possible...." She still wanted Dennis to help her, and while she couldn't power up, she still wanted to move others to the refugee. Even if she had to relay the information to Drake instead.

Dennis stared at her for a long moment.
Was he just supposed to pretend he did not know exactly what she meant when she said she had morning sickness, and the way she put her hand on her stomach like that? But he waited for her to tell him, except he was already making a face. A different face to the one he was making before.
This one was complicated. His eyebrows were furrowed and he looked like he was frowning, his nose wrinkled and his lips drawn up in a very contemplative pout. It looked like he had just been given the worst math problem to solve, and a part of his brain had fallen out in the process. He was not happy about it, but he was not exactly upset, either.
Very confused, of course.
"Give me back that paper. There's no way I'm going to help you if you're... I mean! Come on! You can't be doing this stuff, with a kid to worry about! You gotta take care of yourself! What are you drinking? Coffee isn't good for pregnant people!"

Fai was still looking over all the routes, managing to peek over the paper top and wanted to sort of laugh at the way Dennis's lips just curled up. She couldn't tell if he was upset at the idea of her being pregnant, upset at the idea she was doing things while being pregnant or just upset in general. Dennis was a tricky one to read sometimes.
"No this is my paper." She held it back from him and rose her eyebrow at his statement. Not upset about pregnant, just upset that she might not take care of herself. Dennis really had a soft heart and that made her happy, because he cared. One day in the future, if she made it, she would want her child to meet him. Instead she clutched the paper to her chest and scoffed at him.
"Excuse you Dennis-" her proper lady voice snuck in, "But I am quite aware that I will not be able to do the activities like that. And this is my paper-" She said again, "And I am not drinking coffee, I am drinking a light tea with no caffeine. I read in a book that you have to cut that out of your diet." She waited for him to argue with her, her eyebrow raising to the top of her hairline. "I will share a tidbit with you, as far as pregnancy for...my kind goes. I am not able to power up at all." She relaxed now, "So I won't be doing the things as Mintaka like you assume. Not that I would even if I could, but I am honestly incapable of it now. We are effected within even a month of it...which is where I am."
She folded the paper and started to tuck it into her purse. "The bad news I have to share though, is I won't be staying in the city with the state I am in. I can't hide myself and a baby here, and..." She hesitated, "My husband can only keep me safe from the negaverse for so long..." She reached over to take Dennis hand. "I don't hate you or the negaverse, I hope you understand, but they wouldn't hold back if they knew I was powerless, and much more, if I had a child that could carry magic like me...or Mag-My husband." She caught herself. She adored Dennis, but she was sure the man knew Magiore and the last thing she wanted was the two to meet and trouble to brew between them.

Dennis frowned at her, lifting his finger and waving it at her, but finding he was not able to respond to her. He wanted to cut in right when she said 'excuse you', but she kept going and he was not about to interrupt her, though he would not be able to explain why.
He relaxed a bit, finger bending and hand going limp, but he continued to hold it up uselessly and stare at her for a long moment.
"Well. I guess it's a good thing that you're getting out of here. I just want to know that you're taking care of yourself, I guess. You can keep in touch, where ever you're going to hide? Unless it's too dangerous. Well, anyway. I guess congrats? Though I'm not... really a fan of... babies..."
He was put off by pregnancy in general. Getting tied down to a kid would be his idea of a nightmare, and he would not know how to live the life he wanted with a screaming child clinging to him all the time.
But maybe that was because he was not very good with women. So the whole family thing was a weird mystery to him.
"Look, just make sure you're safe, that's all I really care about, yeah? Even if we don't see each other again for a while. At least I don't have to worry about you running into some trap and getting yourself killed."

That was right Dennis, you waited until Fai's rant was done. She could even see that finger, and her eyes would squint at him, squint at him hard.
She took a moment. "I would tell you, if it didn't compromise the ones hiding there. But I won't be far from here, if you ever wanted to come meet me, if you ever-" She took a moment, "Wanted to see our child." ours as is Magiore and hers, not Dennis and hers. "Nonsense. I will tell our child about you, and fondly. Uncle Dennis, who was too serious and a worry wart and had a very soft heart for me." She smiled at him, patting her stomach. "My child will know of you, and you will visit and that's that." Because that was that.
"No, now all you have to worry about is making sure no one discovers me at all." She cocked her head...and at the tip of her tongue was the same question she had asked Magiore. Come with her. Stay with her. Don't be part of the war. Be uncle Dennis, and a friend for her and Magiore and Drake.
Instead she reached over and took his hand, squeezing it. "I will worry about you every day I hope you know. You are very much like a older brother too me." She didn't know how he felt about emotional displays, so she kept most of it proper, the hand squeezing the furthest she would go. "and I don't know how this war will end, but I hope at least when it does...." She didn't know. Either order destroyed chaos, or chaos destroyed order.
