When RuiZhi was almost five, his father cut himself on a rusty scythe during a particuarly wet season. It wasn't a deep cut, but it mended slowly; within months, his father suffered from seizures and lockjaw, dying from tetanus shortly after the boy's birthday. The Tai family properly mourned and eased along his father's passing, but continued on with their life, tending to those in need. Three years later, his mother died suddenly of a heart attack. No one knew at the time, but five years later, a doctor and a motley group of passerbys would identify the disease that killed her.
For those five years, RuiZhi was an orphan, moving through the village without any real home, but not minding since he got to spend time with so many different and interesting people. He continued his mother's work of creating salves and tonics, making something of a name for himself due to his young age. By the time he was twelve, a research facility was erected near their home and, with it, came the worst influx of the Luna's Cap that their part of China had ever known.
The disease yieled disasterous results, but also brought with it the best people to come into his life. While his friends died around him, RuiZhi could only treat them with what limited resources he had, easing the pain before they passed; he, himself, was immune. Although his people disdained the sciestists and blamed them for the downfall of their village, RuiZhi held no anger in his heart, choosing to accept their presence with a curious and open mind. This is how he first saw the infamous Doctor Kenth Larine, meeting the ill-tempered Alexis Falcone and his fellow native in suffering, Weiyuan Leung.
RuiZhi met the fiesty Italian - Alex, as she preferred to go by - just as the worst outbreak took over the scientists, prompting many of his people to flee in terror from the wrath of a Goddess named Luna. She came into his village, quite uninvited, and took it upon herself to retrieve those who were lost, be it adults or children, keeping those without parents with herself until the others were found. In that time, she taught them all small bits of English and, in turn, the children taught her snippets of Chinese. A handful of days after her arrival, as fate would have it, a helicopter brought in the brilliant young mind of Doctor Kenth, who brazenly stated his posistion as the one who would save them all. RuiZhi was immediately taken and fascinated by the man, trying to hang around the buildings to see what else he could garner. In that time, Alex and Weiyuan had joined Kenth's entourage with a woman named Lina, and they had set out without RuiZhi to put an end to the madness.
The boy was beyond stunned when, less than twenty-four hours later, all four returned, bedraggled but alive, with the cure in hand no less! He didn't get a chance to ask questions as shortly after their return, Alex fell deathly ill; RuiZhi tended to an open would on her ribs for two weeks before she stablized, also taking the time to talk to Weiyuan between treatments. The elder boy told RuiZhi of a school he intended to go to, to be a doctor, much like the enigmatic Doctor Kenth who disappeared back to wherever he came from mere hours after the cure was brought to the village. This sparked the first fire of hope in the youth, and he wanted nothing more than to run with it.
Weiyuan left before Alex was fully healed, but the woman had, in her own bizarre way, adopted the two as brothers. RuiZhi didn't really understand it, but he didn't mind, as he hadn't had a family in years. Eventually it came time that Alex was going to depart the village, well enough to travel and too impatient to stay. Not wanting to be left with dashed hopes, he pleased with her to take him to the school Weiyuan would undoubtably be at - this, ShinKami School of Saviors.
The woman agreed to be his escort to the school. By the time they got there, they were all but full fledged brother and sister, complete with bickering, teaching and laughter. It was hard for RuiZhi to go to the all-boys school, but his new sister was encouraging, and he faced the island with a brave heart.
RuiZhi Tai was enrolled in late April of 2021, and has been studying to be a doctor ever since.

Likes: Studying/reading, learning, small animals, philosophy, tea, cookies, rain.
Dislikes: Being helpless, ignorance, rude people, very crowded places, the smell of ginseng, milk by itself, fish, the women at the mall.
Personality: RuiZhi is a philosopher stuck in a 13 year old's body. He's a deep thinker and acutely observant. Despite his watchful tendancy, he's very naive and hasn't experienced the world outside of his village. He speaks English fairly well, although he still struggles with some terms and more expressive words. RuiZhi is very sweet in temperment and near impossible to ruffle. However, he is quick to upset on certain subjects, although he tries not to show it; he doesn't like confrontation and is actually something of a peacekeeper. He keeps his feet firmly on the ground, using his instinct and garnered knowledge to solve any problems he faces rather than rely on emotional aspects. Although he'd never admit it, he's a dreamer, and hopes to be as great of a doctor as his idol.

-Language Studies - Complete! (CRP)
Rather than learning the languages themselves, students will learn about the different languages and how they influenced one another. It is believed doing so will lead to quicker comprehension of foreign speech and, perhaps, a rudimentary method of communication.

Introduction to Science and Technology
A basic course that is a must for the S&T student. Study here will focus only on the 1970s and forward, from the development of the first computer and the most recent research in scientific fields at the time. Studies of the mechanics, as well as three science courses of the student’s choosing, are covered.

-Advanced Mathematics
Students here move beyond problems and charting and instead focus on a more practical approach to mathematics, with reviews of the techniques used to solve the problems in different links on the page. Students may also use this to connect to an international “chatroom” of learned mathematicians for interview requirements or help on their problems.

-Study of the Human Body - Complete! (SRP)
