Name: Zuella Race: Alk pure blood Gender: Female only 3 Base Traits: Intrepid Stubborn Charismatic Foodie Personality: Zuella is the adventure buddy of a lifetime, no one does nature quite like her. She loved to surround herself in it, and connect with it. She can be obstinant when she gets an idea in her head. She can be quite convincing herself, using her bright and cheerful attitude to bamboozle people to her side. She had a soft spot for those who treat her right, she will put the same amount of energy into them in return. Small sweet gestures mean the world to her. She also loves food, cooking it, eating it, growing it and sharing it. Food can be truly amazing if you encourage the flavor it already has, so she says. She loves to garden and finding new seeds is one of her favorite things to do and receive from friends. She aspires to be a herbalist and a plant seller for a hobby. Everybody needs a good nursery.
She is trying to decide between blade with two swords or blacksmith as her profession.
The more serious of her tribe or the least open minded she regularly avoids like a wet cat avoiding the bath. She does not have room for that kind of dislike in her life.
She is mildly curious about the Elaria, but what self respecting alk wouldn't be? It is a pity they are raised by extremists.
She doesn't care a lick about Balrea and their weird weapons, she wants nothing to do with that unnaturalness.
The rest of the earthlings she wants to meet and see for herself. Matori, Oba, Zena, Sauti, Jauhar hold the most interesting people to her. They like the alk follow mostly the same patterns with a lot more choice of what or who they want to be.
She wishes she could pick a non battle class that was not blacksmith, as fun as sweating all day was, she could do that as a warrior.
Description: Her markings come in groups of dots and circles kind of reminiscent of the large flat scales of crocodiles. Zuella has a long lithe frame. Her hair is in a partial shave with wood beads in the dreadlocked part. Small peacock colored disks are attached to dangle from the end of each dreadlock. Clothing: Dark brown Outfit with a skirt for the bottom. Accessories: Layered blue and green leather bangles on one wrist and both ankles; dark blue, true/bright blue. lime, forest green. Necklace with the dark adventurine gemstone History: Zuella was born to a single mom, but everyone in her battle unit loved Zuella and had a hand in helping to raise her. Her Mother belonged to a group of four that includes one woman from each of the weapon types. They had a blacksmith that they all went to and she was considered an honorary member due to the highly crafted weapons and the more wicked sense of humor. She was one of Zuella's favorites and would often watch at the forge from a safe distance.
As Zuella grows her adventurous spirit started to kick in. Her blacksmith aunt gave her the adventurine necklace with the permission of her mother. Aunty Zilla had no children and considered Zuella a loan. Kiviti, Zuella's mother was okay with that, she considers Zilla the smith to be Zuella's godmother should anything happen to her. Zuella wants to learn more about the other areas of tendaji and is eager to strike out with a sister or two to explore. Xayna and Nala are her BFF's and they are around her age. She and her family are earthling friendly.

Battle Unit Part 1 Zuella was watching her sisters train. With their varying weapons they were a band of beautiful creatures all dancing in key with each other. She leaned on the root of the arena to wach as her aunts danced the death song together. They were all so lovely.
"Oya! Watch Out!" Zuella hit the dirt and the blade sailed harmlessly overhead to embed in a tree.
"Sorry dear, Your Aunt was bad and dodged when she should have alked up and blocked it. You know I am still having to teach her to not do that scurry thing she loves so much."
"Noctaria, stop lying to that girl, you will never train the scurry out of me." Xikaa stalked over to the only one who's weapons matched hers. Both women had chosen the path of dual swords.
"If you hadn't of love attention you wouldn't have almost decapitated our only legacy, I don't see you praying at our tree ehn?"
"Hah, Xikaa, you are just mad that your personality prevents you from landing a wife."
The two, as normal, fell to squabbling. Zuella honestly did like the double blades but she was concerned that she would end up squabbling just like those two did all the time.
Aunty Zilla walked up to stand next to her, "Sometimes I like to come and watch my weapons be used by those that commission them, and I drag myself over here to see these two catfighting again."
"They are good at it though, especially the hair pulling." Zuella winced.
Zilla grabbed the sword that had been embedded in the tree and soundly thrashed Sooumba with it. Then she turned on Noctaria and Xikaa, giving them a common enemy. Even though it was one sword to three, Zilla thrashed them too.
Her mother handed Zilla a towel.
"It is always a pleasure, Zilla, when you grace us with your presence. Zuella, this is why I chose her as your godmother. She protects us all."
Zuella was definitely impressed.
"Darn Aunty, why don't you train more often?"
"I think that maybe instead of me being out here more, that perhaps they should spend more time in the forge with the hammers."
Zuella looked at the moaning pile of alkidike warriors and thought that perhaps Zilla had a point. If swinging a hammer let you fight like that, maybe the whole tribe should take a turn in front of the flames. "Pay no attention to them dear, they grew up together and they have always done this squabbling thing that they are so fond of."
"Well that is comforting, your sure that all blade wielders are not all crazy?"
"I didn't say that," Zilla smiled. "All the ones I have known have had their own peculiar brand of crazy. These two are just too similar in personality and they rub each other the wrong way. Its almost as if they need a third to keep them in line."
"Me Aunty?"
"I've seen how you look at the twin swords." Zilla smirked, "You will be known to us as Dances with Rain, I have seen it in dreams. My dreams are always right."
"Really? What is your team name?"
"Mountain Woke by Thunder."
"Wow, that is so fitting, after what I just saw you accomplish."
"They would have beaten me girl, had your mother joined I would have been toast, she is so deadly with those arrows, a ranged attack can save lives."
Zuella looked at her mother laughing as she dabbed coolweed on Sooumba's gashed forhead. The cut was bleeding more so because it was a face wound than that it was overly bad. Sooumba may get a scar but her mother was also decent at stitching. 620

Crazy Plant Lady Zuella was wandering alone on the edge of the thick jungle. Idly she had reached out to stroke the leaf of a large bushy plant. It was raining, so everything was wet but she didn't mind. She loved truly feeling one with nature, kind of falling into it like her Mother had taught her. She inhaled deeply the lush, verdant scent of green. She loved the smell of wet plants, made her feel like she was home, deep in Jauhar but with all of the new faces out there, and tons of new animals and vistas. An absolute treat for her senses.
She was having a little trouble adjusting to some of the food but then in every cuisine she tried there was one that she did like. She tended to do most of her own hunting though. With every day with her Mother's troops, she felt like she was being funneled somewhere. Somewhere she wasn't sure she wanted to go. She wanted adventure but without the constant bickering. Her place while always with Aisha, may not be back in Jauhar exclusively. She wanted to know so much more about the other peoples and maybe the other trees too! Oh an Aisha seedling, how exciting would that be.
She watched a bee busily pollinate a flower and couldn't resist petting that bee very, very gently, it buzzed quietly at her. She fancied that it was purring and she smiled gleefully and moved on. She loved being outside. When she made a house it was going to be high in a tree with an open floor plan and you would have to climb vines to reach it. Bachelorrette pad goals!
The trees swayed genlty, great trunks with their coat of vines and dangly plants. Thick fruit seemed to hang everywhere it was just different fruit from home. Though she did rather adore the whole concept of a coconut palm. Beautiful, tasty, could knock out an enemy quite effectively by chance, what wasn't to love? You could also drink it. Like it was made by Aisha for all of their pleasure, Aisha had just put it on a weird part of the island. Probably because the coconuts just liked it here, yes that must be it.
The wind brought a pretty scent, and she saw a game trail leading off into the jungle as if calling her by name.
“Oh well, don't mind if I do.” She giggled and padded off down the trail. Her bare feet touching the earth and grounding her being in the moment. This was what being an alk was all about. She spread her arms gleefully and let the sunshine hit her face. The world seemed to glow beautifully.
She didn't find the smell, but she did find a rather pretty looking plant, with huge flower buds about to bloom. She glanced left and right then took a bag and carefully dug around the plants roots. Scooping it up like the tallest crazy plant lady ever, she placed it in a bag, which suspiciously looked like it was made expressly for this purpose. It had multiple layers of fabric in the cuppy part to keep moisture in for as long as possible. She used a canteen and dampened the plant and its new fabric nest before making a note of where she found it in her own secret language for such things, in a small journal also tucked on her person.
She had a really good feeling about this plant. She had a suspicion that it was what had been making the smell but she couldn't see the blooms in the thicket. Muahahah, the mysteries of life. Now to get this beauty back to her hotel room. Even the aunts had come into town after weeks of being in the bush. All of them eyed her sceptically when she brought her new friend into the walled off area so that they would have privacy to live as they liked. People thought they were weird but not so strange as to say anything about it to them. It was easier to focus without everyone watching. And how could you not watch that many tall hot ladies, hence the wall.
“Don't ask,” she said as she walked past them. Slowly she was embracing both her friendly side and the side that wanted to be a hermit in the jungle alone with weird tinkly things hanging from the trees above. Oh yes, what a good life that sounded. She also fully intended to cart this plant around with her.
“You and me, we will go on adventures.” She murmured.
Her blacksmithing aunt, looked at her and shook her head. Her talents did not lie with plants quite as much as her sisters. She had her one Morning Glory, which took over her entire yard and that was that. The thing was monstrous but pretty and her aunt did a good job coraling it. But Morning Glories were the only thing she could grow. Not so Zuella.
She stabbed the earth outside her mini unit and dug out a nice hole for her plant. She cracked an egg or two and put them in the hole deep, as nourishment.
Then she plunked the plant in and filled the soil in around the edges until it covered the root ball well. She firmed it down using gentle hands. The soil felt almost velvety here, and she had been expecting a lot more sand than there was. Oh well. She watered the plant well and put a stake in and tied it to it.
“Support, Love, Water, Sun!” She clapped her hands. “You and I are going to be good friends.

Zuella Class Choice Battle Royal - Royal Flush
t was finally time for Zuella to choose her final class. In the tradition of her family, she had fasted for two days, eating only the sacred fruit and herbs of her Mother's and Aunt's secret recipe. It was said the herbs cleared the soul while the fruit cleared the mind...and the gut as she found out.
But she went into the spirit quest with a certain kind of hungry energy which she was told was the perfect combination. She set out slowly but the further she went the faster she ran. It was as if something was pursuing her that only her minds eye could see, a shadowy large boxy beast that must have been an ancient monster forgotten in todays world. She was fervently glad that the real being could not touch her.
Her path brought her along the water, her family were still in Matori and felt it was cool enough here for her to do her quest, so long as she talked to Aisha soon after her return to tell the mother tree what she had seen. She was grateful for this as she had missed her home despite the wonders of Matori. She loved Aisha and it felt like a friend she had not talked to in a very long time.
The water was breathtakingly beautiful and she happened upon a swampy area, while deciding weather or not to go around, she heard a fantastic commotion. Blinking rapidly she crept closer to the sound not wanting to jump right into danger as the case sounded to be. Parting some soft fern fronds she got quite the eyeful and quickly assessed the situation.
A gorgeous black and gold snaptrotter was hissing and stradling a mound, Zuella immediately assumed that she was protecting her nest. The attacker was a smooth coated royal blue Zanteer with light blue spots. Both creatures were gorgeous.
Zuella paused before acting. She was on her spirit quest, perhaps this meant that she was supposed to follow the animal path of guardian. She took a deep breath and thought about it, meanwhile the two wild ones remained in a standoff, much hissing ensued but it seemed like they had still not noticed she was there.
If she were to be a guardian it would be good for her to have both creatures tamed..that and they were pretty and she wanted them. She wasn't sure what she would do about the batch of nestlings, perhaps she could adopt them out. A particularly loud snarl and yip echoed across the valley and she reverted her attention back to the battle. She better step in soon or that snaptrotter would have that zanteer for lunch no matter how quickly his minced his steps.
Zuella wasted no more time, she stood up to her relatively impressive height. It attracted their attention. The snaptrotter hissed in displeasure at this new, additional intruder. Kalei rumbled down deep in her chest. She knew she should have waited another year to breed with that handsome lime green male, she had had nothing but trouble since. Never trust a pretty snout. In contrast the zanteer was still focused mostly on the toothy one. But he pretended not to notice her after the original look of shock on his face at her presence. Already she could see the night and day personalities of the animals. She wondered how she just knew.
She could read them, just like she could read people, if not better.
"Okay you guys," she made soothing motions, "It doesn't have to be that way." Perhaps this really was the path for her. She approached slowly and confidently, he lithe body swaying subtely from side to side with her fluid movement. She had almost the same kind of spots as the zanteer. it made her smile slightly but didn't make her change her course.
Both animals postures stiffened up when she reached a certain point. So she slowed down and held very still. "I can see that there has been some sort of misunderstanding here. Mr. zanteer it looks like you are trying to eat madam's eggs and she is having none of it. And shes right, those are her babies. Do you have babies? No? Well then you wouldn't understand that they are so much a part of you that you will die to protect them. My mom would for me and you know eating children is poor form, there are so much more out there. What would you say to some giant clams? She had been swimming a few days before and found a hidden trove of them. They were quite popular with zanteer.
She turned to the other creature. "He is very sorry for the wrong he had almost caused. It was an impulse and he regrets it. Don't you?" She glared over her shoulder at the zanteer, he did try to look abashed he thought. Smart boy, really wanted those clams over eggs.
"I offer you a proposal, you agree to help me and I make sure your eggs hatch every year. Does that sound acceptable?"
Kalei glared at them both, she kind of wanted to eat the zanteerm as she had been fasting for a long tim while her chidren were still in shell, after all, he was still infuriatingly close to her eggs. She believed that the girl did not intend to harm her eggs, but that zanteer still looked hungry.
Killian snorted at his predicament, all he was interested in was breakfast. But it looked like he wasn't going to be getting eggs for breakfast after all. Oh well such was life, he started to look really hard at the strange girl who had popped out of the bush. She was taller than the people he had seen before. Killian usually spent his time on the small islands offshore, rather than the mainland, it was way more peaceful out there. Also, had she said something about clams? He was rather fond of clams, they were arguabl as good as eggs at least to him, he liekd that fishy taste. Oh very well he would work with the tall feelered one.
Zuella crept closer to the zanteer, he was smaller than the snaptrotter, but no less fangy looking at what was between his whiskers, though she was used to fangy things, she was not used to this particular packaging. How fast could they move? How far was their strike range?
Hopefully, it wouldn't come to that. She had put a lot on her plate but what better way to show Aisha that she was worthy of the title of guardian than to tame two beasts who were about to come to blows with each other.
Zuella held out her hand to the Zanteer so he could sniff it. It was what the animal tribe people did, and it felt more like an introduction. She was subconsciously nervois but she controlled her reactions well and gave the handsome zanteer the benefit of the doubt.
She was rewarded when a slightly damp snoug nosed the tips of her fingers. In fact, he approached, seeming rather fearless. He nosed up her arm and stared into her face with his only a few inches away. He had bright lime green eyes and she was a bit mesmerized as well. They stayed that way for a good fifteen seconds were she was wondering what he was thinking and if maybe he might just decide to eat her instead. She was not sure. Eventually he moved on to circle her, seeming to have forgotten the fact that there was an angry mother zanteer not far from where they were standing. Zuella to be sure had not forgotten. The snaptrotter had not stopped hissing and growling since. Killian finished his inspection and then after giving a long languid look at the snaptrotter he backed off to await the promised clams. Clams were less dangerous after all and he valued the plush thickness of his coat. Zuella bowed to the Zanteer as he took himself out of the equation to wait. She then turned back to the snaptrotter.
"I hope that you have thought over my proposal. More help for your babies as long as you stay with me."
The young female blinked slowly at the young alkidike. She had considere and while she couldn't understand the girls words, she knew the offer inherent. But better safe then sorry, she would have to test the girls metal. No use in having an egg sitter if she was just going to run away at the first sign of trouble.
The snaptrotter maintained eye contact while she came forward. Slowly she opened her jaws and tilted her head until there was one of her jaws on either side of the alkidike, and impressive show of teeth and a warning should Zuella prove untrustworthy. The alkidike didn't move a muscle, though Kalei knew she wanted to run. Very well then. The girl had passed the test and Kalei regally and slowly removed her powerful jaws before grumbling and tromping back to her nest to lay down in the sun. If only she knew what she had just got herself into.

Zuella Class Quest
It had been months since she had first tamed the zanteer and the snaptrotter. For days and days on end she had worked on training them. Only three days ago she had proved to her elders that she was ready fo rher fist mission involving her animals. her familiars had performed their tricks with aplomb and each teacher when home iwth a baby snaptrotter price, with one or two left over for her of course. They were so adorable with their little squeaks.
She had staye ou in the mangroves with Kalei throughout the breeding season. Her sisters had been quite understanding with her absence until now. She had gotten quite the tan. Now she was striding out with a copy of the instructions for her quest in her pocket. her beasts paced on either side of her. Her aunts had said to open it when she was far enough away.
As she could no longer see her camp and hadn't been able to for a while, she opened the ties on the leather leaf, it's blue/green color always brought a smile to her face. It was pretty but upon seeing the particulars of her mission she snorted with enraged laughter. She was supposed to go get them wine froma cheif that the twins had pissed off so bad that Sooumba was convinced the only hope was to distract the man with Zuella's beasts.
He was apparently rather fond of animals. She sighed wondering if she was really the most grown up out of the lot. Nothing for it but to try if this was her test. As frivolous and silly as it might seem to be she was too clever not to realize there was probably a good reaason that this had been chosen for her. When she reached the village, she asked for a meeting with the cheic and pointedly ignored the knowing look on her guide's face.
She signaled for her animals to stay when he called her forward. She introduved herself and at his bidding called her animals forward to be greeted by him, before softly explainging why she was their as the grouchy looking cheif ran his hands over her sweet Zanteer's hide. His mood looked greatly improved.
"I suppose you can have the wine, no need to punish you for the mistakes of others. Besides you seem to have a good head on your shoulders. Awfully brave of you to try, and anyone who has the friendship of such lovely beasts surely has my support. So long as you can tell me the story of how you got them to behave for you so."
Zuella felt like that was a pretty good deal and proceeded to spend quite a deal of time with the chief, being her authentic self. She even trusted Kalei enough to let the chief climb on her back, for a sedate ride about the village. By the time she was due to go, the relationship between her sisters and the village that produced the best wine was back to its former cordiality. Once she was on her way back, she royally spoiled her familiars for the excellent job they had done. She was so exhilarated that it had worked, she had never felt more confidant then at this moment, because she had put all the work in. She felt like she had truly earned something to call her own.

Blurb: This challenge told Zuella that so long as she has the dedication and persistance to put in long hours at whatever she choses to do with her whole heart that even seemingly impossible tasks are overcome. She has been hesitant to set off on her own but the relationships with others that she continues to build drives her forward into feeling confident in herself. She is also beginning to see exactly how rewarding her path is and it is fanning the flames of her thirst for more. She wants to do well.
