He made his way back to her shack as they had planned after his rest. They had then made it a habit to meet quite often over a few months. They went on short hunts and talked and talked. For the first time with someone new he felt like he could really be himself around her. He felt himself growing closer and closer to the woman who had saved him here in the jungle.
She felt like a friend he had always known and he was interested in becoming more than that. He was just working his way up to ask her to go on a date with him, like a real one.
They ended up playing a fun game of truth or dare. A common practice for them. This might turn out in his favor after all. He smiled as the game went through the boring warmup rounds and slowly got more serious as the combatants got more and more creative. It was a fun way to let off steam though he might see what he could do to create some chaos given half a chance. His heart picked up speed.

She smiled brightly as the game was about to get good. She loved fun stuff like this, it was playful, it was rediculous and it was right up her alley. It was her turn to ask, "Okay, truth or dare? She drew the words out, upping the ante. He selected dare, "Ooh, interesting." She thought, 'Hmm, a dare for him. I dare you to win a staring contest with me." It was something she was pretty decent at. She thought it would be a fun match and a good excuse. To get to stare into his eyes guilt free. Delightful. Hopefully he couldn't read her mind through her eyes. .She sensed that he didn't let all that many people really get to know him. He was charismatic too and confident that was attractive. A mystery that was steadily being revealed to her. She felt lucky and priveledged. He was good company and good lookin.

In his defense, he was not prepared. He couldn't help smiling. Then she smiled and giggled and he had blinked. "Oops," he said ,"Truth this time then." Might as well change it up and see how clever she was feeling with the other side of the game. That had been fun though. She had such beautiful fathomless eyes. Very dark like falling into a galaxy maybe, he was very happy she had found him all that time ago in the forest. His life had become all the richer because of it. She was beautiful inside and out, a vibrant joy, a force of nature. He really couldn't get enough of her. She was just so very easy to be around. She reminded him kind of Saeruin, at least with how strong a woman she was. Sae was a bit more surly. He thought likely all the heat coming off of the forge all day that made her spicier. No one with a iceling blood should have to deal with that much heat. He couldn't do it for example. He thought Matori quite warm enough on the brighter days. Though the temperature was mediated somewhat by the ocean.

She laughed in delight to foiling him and getting to go again. "All right," Ha. She tapped her lips so she thought about a good poignant question. Well, they were alone. Why not?
"What do you think of me?" She asked curiously, wondering if he would mentioned her creativity. She thought it was a good trait and wanted to see if perhaps recognized it or maybe her most excellent sense of humor. She loved making the both of them laugh. He too had a dry sarcastic type sense of humor and she adored it. He seemed talkative around her. He also seemed like he could make people follow him anywhere if he asked nicely enough. She too felt like she might like to go anywhere with him. He made her feel safe and comfortable. Like they wore the same skin, shared the same soul.

He took a deep breath, but the words stalled in his throat and threatened to choke him. He cleared his throat and asked, "Is it alright if I show you?" At her nod he girded himself as this would be the most bold thing he'd ever done. He had protected his heart over the years. Really only letting Saeruin really close to him. That had been a matter of survival. This he really wanted and he didn't want to mess it up. She was so brave, so bright and joyful. He now seemed to need her in his life. In his days, he might never have had this chance. He would not waste it and always regret not knowing what might have been. She was someone special, special above the others. He leaned in close to her moving slowly. he tilted his head and leaned in closer than he kissed her gently, looking at her the whole time. He felt truly vulnerable for the first time in his life. She had gotten past every barricade, every hesitation. He let his feelings for her show in that kiss.

When he asked to show her, she thought he meant with interpretive dance or something along those lines. This was much nicer and most delightfully unexpected. He went slow when it worked not to spook her. He moved like she was a wild animal he was trying to befriend, than his lips met hers. That was what has what he had been asking with those eyes. It was so sweet and pure that her eyes closed in bliss. Well, this saved her having to ask him. She hummed and gently responded before they broke apart. She held her hand up to her lips in happy shock and looked at him. "So you feel that huh?" Her eyes crinkled and she smiled. She laid a hand on his shoulder. "Me too." She whispered, shyly to him. She left her hand there. His skin was warm, he was so alive and his eyes were sparkling in the sunshine. Eyes of gold. Her treasure.

"Really?" He cleared his throat again. "I mean, I had hoped." He grinned at her. At least she hadn't run screaming. "Would you like to be my girlfriend?" sounded better than please let me be your boyfriend there. It was done he had asked. He still felt nervous even though he was pretty sure that she would say yes, he felt like there was electric eels swimming around his thoracic cavity. A mix of fear, joy and excitement, quite a potent mix. Really. He hated waiting in situations like this. Minutes made hours when you were really invested in the answer and what more important mission in life at this point than finding the right person to enjoy life with. He was tired of going it alone. She had crept right into his heart and he wanted to explore the feelings he got around her further in the hopes that it would lead to something magnificent. He would be proud to be in a relationship with this warrior woman.

She smiled, this was so very exciting. No one had kissed her or asked her out before. Though they had been spending at least a few days a week together for quite some time in face. Their friendship had grown ever deeper. To the point that he was staying in town to be close to her. Even though they had shared her hut while he was sick. This had been the arrangement. So as not to give folks the wrong impression. Now though, he might stay if he wished. "Yes," she said happily there were so much joy in her heart. How lucky she was that this interesting soul had liked her. She thought perhaps she might be glowing with joy. She wondered if he could feel it. She leaned into him and they cuddled there. She had always kind of hoped in her heart of hearts, for an exotic mate. It didn't get much more exotic for her people than a male, especially one who was not even all alk hybrid No, he was pure earthling. It was just so romantic what was happening to her it felt sort of surreal.

She had said yes, his whole world felt like it had shifted on its axis. He would happily tell Sae all about it later, but for right now the only female he could possibly think of was Zuella herself. He knew a bit about Aishans but his knowledge was mostly from her and was by no means extensive. He was still rollicking from the strength and variety of emotions coursing through him. Like there was a small burning star in his chest that lit him from the inside out with joyous heat. He had never felt anything so wonderful before he leaned into her as well, and they just stayed there for a while in pure bliss.
Neither talked they just sat there together with huge goofy twitterpated smiles on their faces. For right now everything in the world was better than perfect. This woman who had saved his life he would give his heart

Well, sadly, they couldn't stay like this forever. They might turn to stone like in those old stories type of thing. She stood and offered him a hand admiring his beautiful beard, she found she rather liked facial hair as odd as it was. He kept his neat, tidy and clean. "Come on time to eat something I'm famished," both of their stomachs rumbled and they laughed at the perfect timing.
They went on to prepare food and eat the whole time chatting and having a wonderful time. This was the start of something new it was worth celebrating. She didn't give a hoot what anyone else thought of them from back home she had chosen him too. She could not ignore the blinding joy in her heart that they were giving it a chance. She was greatly excited. Maybe she would not be alone for much longer. She didn't mind it, being alone, but not long term. Heck that.

Timeskip....
It was a bright and sunny day in the jungle, he had grown to like the place with the thick canopy overhead. It was very green and bursting with exuberant life He had forgotten which date they were on exactly, innumerable sparks had led to fireworks and he was now living with her in the shack and fishing local waters. It was fun to fish freshwater. Fish were sometimes smaller but were brightly colored in the jungle. That was fun. He had been ready for 20 minutes and she was still getting prepared. "Love you look great." He was trying to encourage her at the door she must be hungry by now. It seemed like she was searching for something. "What are you looking for baby?" he asked with concern. Something must be missing proper for her to stalk about the house like that. He smiled at her.

"I am looking for my earrings if you must know," she had looked for what felt like the third time in the jewelry box where she distinctly remembered putting them, oh well. She suppose she couldn't delay them any longer, one last romp around and she came back ready for the fancy dinner date he had promised.
They left the shack and to her surprise he had a radaku drawn cart with a matching team ready for them, one side was black radaku and the other side was white, for a total of six critters. It was actually a stunning sight and it would stand out. Oh my this is very special She felt rather like a princess and she could not keep the silly grin off her face. It was so thoughtful. The footmen helped her up, a local from the looks of him. How kind. She smiled brightly and relaxed as much as she could while so darn excited.

He was happy that his extra bit of effort had been well received by the lady. They had taken some some extra brain work but he wanted her to feel special. She deserved it, he climbed in after her and gave her a kiss. This was to be a wonderful romantic night as planned. The radaku took them on a decently long journey to a secluded upper canopy restaurant.
Birds chirped out evening chorus as they disembarked the carriage and began to climb the wooden ramps and stairs that wound up through the supporting trees over the forest floor, eventually bringing them to the wooden Bowers largest of which was the dining hall for the exclusive mysterious Blue Gully restaurant. The finest dining for couples in the know. He had entered in a draw every week to get seats. He avidly watched her face and was not disapointed by the wonder and surprise he saw there. He was so happy he had stuck it out. It had been worth it.

She felt that the best description for this place. It was enchanting, the flowering vines wound around the tree trunks and branches to drop down to sea glass chandeliers, wreathed in birdsong.
They had fantastic views "How on Tendaji, did you manage to get us in here?" She slapped gently and playfully at his muscled thigh. This was a romantic hotspot, she had read about it, it was pretty exclusive and secret to heighten the The restaurant had to be supported entirely by the trees, it used mounting struts. The novelty kept hyped visitors streaming through. But not in such overwhelming numbers to detract from the experience. Dining was by appointment only and it was hard to get in.
It was very cool up this high in the trees! And to think they got to eat a fancy dinner up here together! She would have been fine with dinner on the ground but it made her happy to be up here in the canopy.

"I entered a weekly draw where you buy a small clay figurine for cheap and you get to place it on a draw board after seven moons someone finally picked my statuette, and we now have enough figurines to decorate the whole garden with. It was ridiculous but it had been worth it, to find an in to this restaurant. The last of the sunlight faded from the treetops and the lighting blazed and twinkled.
"I'm glad you it!" like he thought he was pretty cool too. He waited by the vine encrusted 'please let us seat you' sign. It looked like they might have some sort of plant mage on staff, the decorations were phenomenal. "I didn't think it would be this cool."
A well dressed waiter sashayed over to them He showed them to their seat in the round dome, one end of their alcove opened up into the night sky, but they also got the restaurant ambiance on the other side. It was absolutely incredible and he was so excited to spend it with her.
