Commander Naeria

Naeria wasn't giving up on Earth. The Vanguard might have been able to leave, but Portabella couldn't. Gabrielle and Evie and the other humans couldn't. So she came to the appointed place, walking slowly, a few places behind the other Vanguard.

Naeria was an explorer. A researcher. Her hands were trembling a little as she remembered the last time she had been in a battle of this caliber, but she kept walking anyway.

There was so much worth saving here, and she was going to do what she could.

If she was honest, she was also curious to see this creature for herself. It was powerful, and power meant energy. Energy was something her people were sorely in need of right now.

She didn't speak as she approached the group of Vanguard. Lyndin was there, standing bravely. Vyn and Aliez, on the front lines as always. Caelyna, ready for anything. Rhysi, with her sense of curiosity.

Andreyia, the one she shared the most of her secrets with. The one that she also knew had animal companions here on Earth to protect. She stood near him, watching the sky with the others.

General-King Faustite

Faustite shook his head at Heliodor's question. He signed glibly, his disappointment coming through his perfunctory gestures. Hoped so. This was where we met him when he was around for the Star Festival. No sign of him here, though. If this was his doing, he probably tipped us off and got himself the hell away from Earth. Doesn't like to be threatened. Which was cute, but troublesome for how they might deal with the primordial storm brewing above them.

He had little faith in satellites. What technologies men have made have each failed in the face of magic. That, he thought, was the real power. These spikes, and whatever was in them — they had to have magic at their core. Magic as the acting force within them.

Things born of stars, Almadel had said. What were they if not magic?

To Albite however, he had a very different aside about Heliodor's comment about the sender. Don't want to have all this ******** competition for Almadel's favor. What the hell were all of them going to do against something that ate worlds, anyway? What difference would numbers make? What effect were their weapons and magic to have, if not that of toothpicks and cheap gimmicks?

It moved through dimensions. And all they had were a few ******** spikes made of ******** and far too much bravado to pull together and be effective.

Faustite sighed through his nose at Albite's joke. His throat felt tight. He was weary down to the bone from having stayed up for so long. He was sick of roaring thunder and flashing lightning causing him to jump involuntarily. He hated that he didn't know what to do. That he couldn't reach out to the rest of the Negaverse and know that he would be backed up. They were all just scattered about with no real plan, and no one was organizing with some secret knowledge that few others had.

It couldn't be him, obviously. He had no voice. Wasn't fit for command. But in a sea of the unfit for one reason or another, who the ******** else would do it?

He looked to Headache, who held the spike, and Headache shimmered and shifted as its form revised again and again. No longer were burning eyes staring back at him balefully, but a mocking hazel that challenged him to do better.

Mystras, Squire of Jupiter

Did Mystras know what was going on? Vaguely. Her sibling had sent her some messages about it. She'd figured monsters like this were par for the course for being involved in a magical war, though.

Maybe they were. Maybe this was extra bad. Honestly, Mystras had no way to tell.

She was never one to pass up a mysterious message telling her to meet up in a random location in the middle of the night, though. Not paying attention to stuff like that was how you missed out on the best adventures.

Although, when she came up to the group, she wasn't sure if she was walking up on an adventure or a funeral. Everyone looked dead serious.

Luckily her sibling was there, and a total beacon with how she was all tall and glowy. Mystras made her way over, and found Abzu and Stromboli and some other people she didn't know in the area, too.

"Hey, what's going on?" she asked. "Is it that snake thing? Are we punching it?"

Ascended General Niter

Niter hadn't paid much heed to the brewing stories of calamity and total destruction. He was familiar with them, of course — he read the database and spent his required time draining energy at the Queen's direction — but he didn't feel much panic to spur him into action. Rather, he felt nothing more than a vague familiarity.

Maybe his perspective was skewed. Maybe video games were not, in fact, good for developing brains. Regardless, facing the end of the world felt like just another playthrough of a FromSoft game.

What was this if not the rekindling of the flame? Or the perpetuation of the Hunt? Or the beginning of yet another Golden Order or a new fate yielded to another outer god? He lived in stories that perched at the precipice of disaster. And, each and every time, he got to choose how that world ended — or began anew.

Just him. Just one Tarnished or Hunter or Unkindled or Undead. One silent protagonist.

Lightning splintered overhead. Satellites shot off into the sky in their inborn sense of coordination. People of all factions gathered and loitered, the air as charged with uncertainty as it was with ozone.

This wasn't FromSoft. This was more like an MMO raid with hardcore characters. If they died, that was that. And the Negaverse was putting all their best people forward, like this storm should be treated as seriously as possible. He didn't think a single General Sovereign was absent.

But while they still had their calm, Niter floated about as his gaze passed over the growing collection of powered folk in the area. Rather, he looked at their ankles, at their knees, and at their shoulders for signs of their Mauvian companions. Ah — there was one he recognized, right by the b*****d sovereign.

"Kitty~" He began somewhat monotonously. He didn't care if anyone else heard him; they all looked too busy with stargazing instead. Niter opened his arms and leaned down to scoop up Magnus, who was catting around on the ground. "Do you want pets we wait?"

Squire Celadon of Cybele

Cybele caught her eye. Why wouldn't she? Her confidence and Eternal stature were like a beacon of leadership on the battlefield. Nigh automatically she began to follow the invitation to join her. There were others with her, those she didn't know but recognized by pattern and symbol as Cybele knights. She felt a fleeting hesitance, as if she might not be good enough to meet the others, or like there was something deficient about herself that she hadn't corrected yet.

It was gone in an instant. She looked back, half-expecting to spot a chaos senshi casting their magic over her maliciously. There was no one even looking her way.

But, by happenstance, she looked the way of Hierapolis and a beautiful Eternal Senshi with him. Their difference in height was striking, but she kept that to herself. "Hierapolis!" She called to him, then waved for both of them to join around Cybele.

There was someone else with Cybele, too — someone she hadn't met before. A Neptune Knight, if she had to guess, and she gave him a sheepish wave as she closed the distance between them.

"I'm Celadon," she murmured for anyone who didn't already know. "If I can get my javelin into that thing," she pointed at the thunderclouds above, "then any magic or weapons will hit it a lot harder."

It was a small thing, but it was something she could focus on. A piece of a tactic that she could control, so her trepidation didn't rattle her apart.

Almere, Squire of Lysithea

This was what destiny felt like, wasn't it? This was the moment of truth.

Almere had often tried to put herself in the shoes of a knight going into battle. Say your prayers. Flip down the visor of your helm. Draw your sword and turn to face unspeakable evil. It was a scene she'd run through in her imagination countless times as a child, and one that she repeated nearly every time she powered up into Almere.

It had never been quite as real as this, though. The evil had never been quite so unspeakable.

And she was here to face it, side by side with her friends. When Halle squeezed her, she squeezed him back. She smiled at Mechelen, at Lisse, at the Ganymede Page, Santa Maria Novella.

"I can heal now, if anyone gets hurt," she told them. "But I can fight, too!"

She whispered under her breath for strength. She adjusted her hat. She held up her oversized spoon, long and silver as a sword.

Together, they could face this threat. She knew it!

Mauvian Realta

Unknown sender? Oh, oh Realta was already in a horrid mood by the time she got to the appointed location. She'd managed to fix that computer that her... digging attempts had fried... and now they sent something else?! Oh she was just offended now.

Not that she didn't appreciate the information, but the fact others could so easily get into their system and hide themselves... it just bothered her. What if they tried to take sensitive information? Or worse? Her tail was fluffed up much as the short fur allowed, trotting carefully through the crowds, searching for familiar faces, taking count of who she could locate immediately...

For the moment, though, she stuck close to Metis, winding herself around the Eternal's legs once they came up to join Niflhel and Snowball.

"Hope all of you are feeling alright. I'm sure this will be... an interesting fight, to say the least."

Eternal Sailor Metis

Well, she couldn't just stay at home reading a good book with all this going on, now could she? Metis was quiet as she made her way up to the hill where many other auras radiated energy to the point she could see particularly well. The amount of powerful Negaverse energies was... disturbing, but she tried to not focus on it for now. Instead, she carefully moved along, aware of Realta down at her side, till she found and promptly joined Niflhel and Snowball.

Realta's commentary got a soft sigh from the Eternal, at least. "Well enough, I suppose... considering how heavy the air's been..." And the energies in the sky were... not a welcoming sight for her, either...

General Rakovanite

It was very uncommon for them to receive a summons for the same thing at the same time. Uncommon to the point that this was probably the sole instance of it. Likely in part because no one really summoned for Narcissus. At least, not in the way they could for Rakovanite. He had only even seen the Dark Mirror Senshi's mirror compact a handful of times, and Rakovanite wasn't sure he liked 'something' that could reach out to them both so easily.

Not when the reason was so clearly 'nothing good.' His head tipped back slightly, watching the crafted satellites float up beyond the thick wall of clouds.

There were too many people here. Definitely too many people he didn't trust and didn't like. So it was tempting to ask Narcissus to stay close- it always was- but his fiance was a grown man who could make his own decisions with his own priorities, and he knew from years of experience that Rakovanite wouldn't appreciate being distracted from his tasks because of whatever potential peril Narcissus had gotten himself into.

"Here," Rakovanite rumbled, producing the small box that held the pair of earrings they could share between them to keep in touch, on the not insignificant chance they were separated.

They'd arrived together, so he didn't need to go looking for Narcissus, but there were at least a handful of others he had to keep an eye out for. Diesel, Calaverite, Vauxite, Weissite... Rakovanite expected they would be here, somewhere. ...There were just so many others around, and he physically recoiled at the thought of going searching for them. But he had his tablet, and they should all be able to get the message:
Quote:
Here with Narcissus. I would at least like to see everyone before anything drastic happens.

Narcissus' bright magenta hair would be more visible than anything Rakovanite was wearing. He'd be a good enough beacon for them. And as long as he knew who was present now, he'd know who he expected to leave with later.

Dark Mirror Super Sailor Loke

Once again.... why was he still powering up? The rational behind it all was waning, because personal excuses like mirrorwalking is fun, some of the folks are cool, Mirrorscape is neat were uh... well, they didn't account for why he was here. Nor did they account for why he went to that bank rooftop, either, to gather more energy...

Standing uneasily, Loke looked around for Remarque, or any other of the Court he might recognize... which, to be fair, was likely extremely few anyway... ugh. That was a pretty depressing thought, actually. <******** class="quote">

Antisana, Squire of Pluto

Antisana was aware of most of the danger only secondhand. He had been to the Moon Palace and heard what the expected level of threat was, but besides the strange storms in DC, he'd experienced very few of the symptoms of whatever was coming. Being exclusively underground, he'd noticed very little at his own wonder and had only had information from the database to go off of.

But the general takeaway was: Bad.

World-endingly so, theoretically.

And to his great dismay, world ending threats should probably not be ignored (he would argue that neither his, nor Eleonora's input would mean anything in the great scheme of things, but he doubted his girlfriend would listen to reason). So they'd arrived together. Amidst a crowd of other powered people likely greater than any he'd seen previously. There was certainly tension- and it was very strange that said tension wasn't coming from the proximity to members of the Negaverse.

"Are you nervous?" Antisana asked softly, looking up at the deep grey clouds as he spoke. His experience told him that there were few things Eleonora was afraid of: she had been at this much longer than he had and had never seemed down about it. But nervous to face something they had little information on and not much to go on about how to handle? That would be reasonable.

Captain Carnotite

Up upon the hill, Carnotite's three glowing eyes were open and staring up, watching with great interest as strange orbs began to bleed and leech into the clouds around them. The great energy of so many of the Negaverse present bolstered her, gave her a sense that things truly would be fine. They'd done so much. The satellites, collecting so much energy...

They'd drive this threat away from the Earth. And then, they could return to driving the other alien threats from the Earth...

Well. Some. She leaned slightly against her cousin beside her, grateful for the company.

"Almost disappointed I can't get a little more of that energy," she sighed softly to the other blond, a small laugh in her tone.

---------

Corrupt Sailor Lameia

"Oh Carny, don't tell me you've become an addict," came the equally soft, if snickering, voice back. Lameia was excited, hoping for a chance to see this... impossibly large serpent.

Really, if it wasn't so clearly hellbent on eating their home, she'd love to try and... hm... not quite befriend but... maybe if it was small enough, she could feed it energy orbs? Or starseeds? She'd be happy to supply both to it...

But she rather liked Earth as it was, and really didn't want to see it gobbled up. No thank you. She'd continue to do her part to prevent that, but at least for the moment, she leaned against her cousin and was appreciative of the familiarity.

Corrupt Eternal Diesel of Combustion and Chaos Mauvian Gremlin (Cat)

At this point in his life, Diesel could barely even fathom living in a world that wasn't threatened with destruction at least on a seasonal basis. Whenever he tried to wrap his mind around living as a normal person with the normal person explanation of things and normal person crime, he couldn't help but be besieged by the thought that that would be a truly ******** miserable existence.

Like, yeah, death, danger, very bad, whatever, but God- wouldn't that just be miserably boring?

This was weird, exciting, treacherous. And just the hundred or so people here (out of the millions in DC) even knew what was happening in any amount of detail. Was that not, in itself, a little bit awesome? (Scary and awesome).

And if Diesel had to think about it, he didn't mind the world ending if it was, like, in a really cool, flashy way- And getting eaten by a Universe Snake sounded pretty rad, if he was being honest? ...Maybe it wouldn't be that rad from inside its stomach or whatever, but he could always just yoink his own starseed out and throw it if he really didn't want to deal with whatever was happening anymore. Like- there were comic series with less going on. And that was saying something.

He dragged Feldspar to where Rakovanite and Narcissus stood near the edge of the gathered crowd, getting them with a cheery, "Yo, we're here," and a brisk gesture that resembled something like a salute. "Man, I kinda can't even wait to see what all the fuss is about, right? There's a s**t-ton of people here!"

Many of whom probably had a much better grasp on the situation than Diesel did, having only briefly skimmed the reports that sounded the most interesting.

"How does your voice get more annoying every time I hear it," Gremlin snapped from his coiled up place, nestled inside of Diesel's hood. "Honestly, if you could shut up and let the adults work so we can get through this quickly, that'd be ideal."

Not likely, but ideal all the same.

The Mauvian snorted out a sound of disgust, then craned his nose over the side of Diesel's hood to observe the cluster of filthy humans who'd gathered around- their auras were practically overwhelming.

Princess Ganymede

Ganymede made her way to the designated coordinates as an Eternal but shifted into her Royal form as soon as the heavy, dark auras of several Sovereigns flared along her senses. At first she couldn’t distinguish between them. They seemed clumped together in a thick sludge, toxic and vile, with very little variance between them until she drew close enough to pick them out from one another visually.

She hadn’t gotten a good look at all of them the last time they’d shown their faces. Her focus then had first been on Laurelite, then on those who’d wished for an escape from the Chaos which had contaminated them, then on Jet. Ganymede made note of them now, comparing what she saw to the information Folkvangr, known then as Erythrite, had shared with her several years ago.

A big, beefy dude with a big, hefty hammer. That was Lepidolite, as relaxed as Folkvangr had intimated he would be. Ganymede wondered if it was confidence or apathy. Considering his rank, she expected the former. One didn’t become a General King through indifference.

The one with the axe must be Axinite—a fitting name for an equally fitting weapon. Protective of the agents under him, Folkvangr had said. Ganymede hadn’t gotten the impression he was particularly worrisome. At the moment, he looked quite pale.

That left Hessonite. She’s a wild card. Young and hot-headed. Maybe not so young anymore, Ganymede thought. Hessonite snapped pictures with a camera, but it was the large pair of scissors on her back that drew Ganymede’s focus.

She refused to look at Jet. Ganymede knew he was there; she’d known before arriving, had heard all about his exploits around the city harassing whomever he could get to speak to him, forcing young Knights to bring him before the Code. If she looked at him, she wasn’t sure she'd be able to stop herself from striking him.

Under the circumstances, the presence of so many Sovereigns should have been reassuring, insofar as it meant the Negaverse was taking the threat seriously.

Ganymede would rather see every last one of them dead.

“What do we think?” she muttered to Valhalla beside her. “Say we win this thing. They turn on us as soon as it’s over. Do we still think Axinite’s the weakest?”

Corrupt Super Sailor Rigel

"This city at least is never boring, right?" Rigel's light commentary was somewhat directed to Spectrolite next to him, though certainly he welcomed anyone to jump in. He lingered a bit of a distance from Seraphinite, and with him, Jet--whom he did send a very upbeat wave when he caught the General King's eye. He'd mostly been keeping a low profile with everything. Collecting energy, of course. The storms fascinated him... and really, he very much wanted to catch a good look at this, ahem, eldritch monster.
Guine

----------

Lieutenant Spectrolite

Beside Rigel, Spectrolite gave a small scoff, rubbing her arms to try and warm herself up. "I wouldn't mind it if the weird-ness took a vacation now and then..." But then, how would other international branches handle things? Could they? She wasn't sure, wasn't even sure who to ask about it all. Not that it really mattered now. The thing was coming here, and though she'd done what she could to help Seraphinite with the satellites (poorly), and collected energy with Rigel... it was hard not to be terrified of that giant serpent in space coming to try and eat their home....

----------

Yetzirah, Page of Cosmos

Yetzirah... really wasn't sure what he was doing here. He'd done very little to help with everything going on--he'd not even gone up to the Moon, even when he told himself it would be best... But he did go to give energy, and the more he thought about it... if all this ended well--and hopefully, it would--he'd uh. Finally go up to his wonder. Try to actually be a knight. He hadn't been aware of the extent of how... actually serious all of this was. The fighting between the White Moon and Negaverse, even the aliens showing up... they weren't really his problem in his mind. He had other things to focus on. Life, for instance. But... this was a legit, big bad threat to all lives. He might have only had a feather to try and help, but Yetzirah had to admit he owed it to... whatever gave him access to this fancy magic stuff, to at least try.
