Tyndareus forced himself to take steady breaths, to not let the fear of the thing before him take root in his chest. Keep breathing, keep loose and relaxed, and he could focus. He could react. He could move as he needed to. Staying tense only made things worse.
"Thoughts and prayers," he said a bit dryly to Taenite in response to his "hope" about the spike not being broken.
Hope was an entirely useless emotion. Either it was or it wasn't broken. Dwelling on it one way or the other didn't make for a positive use of their time. The fight was getting ready to truly begin, he could almost feel it in the air.
The sight of Larimar made everything lock up. Monoceros couldn't even run as much as he very suddenly wanted to. No no nono nononono no! He really, really didn't like the way that the half-youma general was glaring at him, but he couldn't move. He just couldn't.
"Please focus on the real threat," he whispered, shivering and not really expecting to be heard.
He didn't want to be kidnapped and taken back to that place, or killed. His heart hammered in his chest, and still he wished he could run to someone safe, to not be along, but he was stuck.
The blast of Chaos made him jump, and suddenly everything in his body unlocked and he broke into a dead sprint, trying to get away as fast as he could, and wound up panting near a Neptune Knight and some other super senshi he felt he vaguely recognized—
"Lionel!" he said with great relief. "You got out too! Hey! Think we could watch each other's backs while we're out here?"
post 1234 Location: A7, with Aquamarine and Jet + Others Action: Having a Concern rn
Really, with the Queen having such a large show of power--suffocating as it nearly was for a moment--Seraphinite was feeling good about things. The Calamitous Hollow was shrinking, the Vanguard were useful and actually helped them with the shield.
But as Seraphinite stood near Aquamarine at the spike, and Jet, his pale eyes were focused on the blond. He was being... far to quiet. Uneasily, he flicked his gaze up to Jet, brows furrowed. This wasn't normal. Why wasn't Aquamarine bitching about s**t? Making his usual commentary on how bullshit this was?
The silence was unsettling to him, and as his gaze kept flicking between the two other men, he wasn't fully sure if he was just being... paranoid, or if something really was wrong...
“I have no idea…” Without thinking too much about her actions, she held on to of a fistful of Arthur’s coat. The surge of chaotic energy felt like acid against her skin, and it was all she could do to keep from falling to her knees.
She turned to hide her pained expression from him. “I feel like this was a mistake, like I am way out of my league here,” her voice so full of regret for coming. “I don’t understand what I’m seeing, what I’m feeling. I’ve never been around so many people who were powered in one place before.” She’d only gone out on patrol a handful of times with Sailor Child, and on only one occasion did they run into an Agent. Here, there were so many auras present that it felt disorienting.
“That woman,” Pherkad turned toward the pillar of Chaos. “Who is she?” Her question was almost a whisper, as if she were afraid that it would draw her attention.
The crowd around Benitoite had grown noticeably larger, likely drawn to the pillar of light that gave the illusion of safety. But Meridiana felt out of place, like a wallflower; quiet and unnoticed while picking up bits and pieces of conversation not meant for her.
Rather than feign interest or pretend she wasn’t eavesdropping, the Senshi of the Succubus followed the half-youma General’s lead and left the overcrowded area for a place close enough if help was needed but far enough away for the chatter to not be so distracting.
Even though she was flanked by White Moon Senshi and Knights, Meridiana felt somehow safer being near the middle of the hexagonal shape the arches of lightnig-like energy were creating. If that sixth spike were to fall from the serpent's tail and complete the path, she did not want to be on the outside of the enclosed space.
Rainier, Squire of Mercury Location: H5 Action: Warm welcome to Beira and glad he found her a Surtur, currently talking to Acrucis
Rainier barely had time to register Surtur’s arms around her as she was pulled into a group hug with him and Beira. Though surprised, she returned the gesture and in the moment found a much-needed comfort in their presence.
When Surtur stepped back, Rainier followed suit, smoothing her coat she turned to Beira with an easy smile and clapped Beira on the shoulder with a friendly thump. “You’re late,” she said, her tone clearly teasing as amusement danced in her eyes. “I am glad you made it to us safely.”
Her gaze slid over to Surtur, “A wise man once said standing beside a friend is how I would prefer to fight.” She winked, knowing the words weren’t verbatim, but Rainier felt it necessary that Beira know they shared similar sentiments, especially in these terrible moments.
Their joyful reunion was short-lived as their group grew in size and Helene’s friends arrived, and among them a Senshi with whom Rainier was close. “Acrucis?” Her tone sounded surprised as she approached the Senshi of Prayer. “You came…” It was more of a statement since she thought that, given they could not connect before the summon time, she would have gone home after her shift at the hospital had ended
“I did,” Acrucis replied, her voice loud enough for only Rainier to hear. “I thought my healing would be useful here.” A flicker of pain passed over her expression as her gaze fell to an arbitrary spot on the ground, one hand pressed against her chest, an indication that she was either having problems with her heart or trouble breathing.
“The Chaos here is overwhelming, Rainier. This isn’t the kind of pain my magic can heal…” Bruises, cuts, moderate scrapes; all physical injuries that could be seen. But this burning sensation, the feeling of thick acid pouring over her skin, it was not something her prayers could soothe.
“I’ll do what I can, but I’m afraid it won’t be much…”
Super Sailor Eleonora, Senshi of Heat Location: H6 Action: Staying close to Antisiana, feeling overcome with doubt and a touch of fear, waiting with bated breath for what was to come.
Eleonora squeezed Antisana’s hand in return, her fingers curling a little tighter than perhaps necessary… not out of affection, but to ground herself as he was.
The air around them felt alive, causing the hair on her arms to rise from the electric charge that blanketed the area within the dome. Her head pounded from the many auras dancing around her senses and the Chaos energy that felt like it was pressing against her from all sides.
She did her best to remain collected and composed, but her jaw was clenched so tightly it felt like she might break her teeth, and for the first time since answering the summons, a flicker of doubt, and worse… fear, settled behind her eyes. They had faced impossible odds before, but this… this was something else.
Eleonora knew that if she faltered now in her resolve, she wasn’t sure she’d recover, especially not with her twin nowhere in sight.
Although the teal-haired Sovereign all but demanded her attention, Eleonora managed to tear her gaze away and scanned the faces of the group of Cosmos knights approaching them. “At least we aren’t completely alone here.” Three Squires and two Pages, at least most of them had some form of magic.
Sailor Alcor, Super Senshi of Cold Location: B9. Action: Hoping to get Gorner and Cliban to move to a safer place further from Laurelite.
The pain was intense, being this close to Queen Laurelite hurt in ways it was difficult to describe. It felt like her skin was burning, not from fire but something else yet no injuries could be seen. The feeling was akin to when she was nearly forced corrupted into a youma, panic rose in her chest and intensified at the memory.
“I-I’m sorry,” Alcor’s words felt heavy. “I need to move away from her.” Somewhere on the other side of the area might feel less intense. But the distance was great, and it would be dangerous to maneuver around the larger groups of Agents and Corrupts.
A cold thred of fear wound itself tightly around her chest, the kind of fear only Eleonora could truly understand but she was not here. However, the sparkling earring in her subspace pocket remained unused. She could wear it, reach out to her twin for reassurance, but Alcor knew that if she used it too soon, she risked wasting it before it truly mattered
The thought made her hesitate as she worried the fur lining of her sleeve between nervous fingers.
“I also worry what might happen when the sixth pillar is placed and we are on the outside of the shape it creates.” It could be a secondary barrier like the one that had all but exploded around them before the scales were able to crush anyone standing beneath them.
Hopefully, they’d see reason and relocate to a safer place.
Corporal Cypher, Vanguard Location:F3 Action: Paying attention to the sky in case more scales start falling before Lyndin is finished setting up the device. He will try to shoot them so they break apart before hitting the shield.
Cypher had been focused on the open horizon and the sky above them when a commotion erupted behind him.
He turned in time to see Aeliz raise his shield and Vyn fire his weapon at an approaching Senshi (Oberon). Although he knew never to point his weapon at someone he didn’t intend to shoot, Cypher was unaware of who was an ally or an enemy and could only react according to the Commander’s warnings.
Fortunately, the more diplomatic members of the Vanguard (Naerina) seemed to settle the situation, and the eternal who got injured was not looking to retaliate, at least not yet anyway. When Commodore Lyndin addressed the situation, Cypher lowered his gun as the tension in his shoulders eased, and he was able to return to his previous task before these Senshi and Knights with glowing marks on their skin decided to offer them help.

Sorry, I'm not going to quote anyone for proximity since he just basically turned around then went back to what he was doing.
There was something fascinating that happened when Laurelite had opted to strut up stairs that had only existed for her.
Borax's attentions turned from his own duties to what was behind him and above him. His attentions narrowed entirely on those things, especially as that blast emanated from her toward the Calamitous Hollow they were told to be so frightened of. Her magic that she welded was so strong as to force the monster to shrink down by several sizes, body starting to shed. Her power was so strong it was felt throughout the field and seemed to be nauseating the White Moon.
For Borax? It made him hungry.
That was what he wanted. Laurelite held a power that should belong to no one. She also held a power that could belong to him. Borax yearned for it, his fingers curling and uncurling around nothing.
This was why he put up with this s**t. This is why he dealt with any of it. This was why he let other people have even a slight command of him. This was why. He would take some of the burdens that were pressed toward him, increasing that desire as much as they slashed them. That power. This monster held a power like that, too, squirming and hungering and ...
Eternal Sailor Hugbell Transcendent Senshi of Comfort: Journal Location: C10 Action: Agreeing to assist Lysanna get back to the vanguardains.
Hugbell tilted her head as the other spoke, had she met a Vanguard? What was that? There were questions best left for another time though, "Ah well a pleasure to meet you I haven't met a Vanguard before."
She was fascinated by the other but not so much so that she wasn't watching their surroundings too just in case; she'd been in enough fights to know not to let her guard down. When Lysanna said there was safety in numbers and asked if she wanted to journey together to help find the others like her Hugbell nodded in agreement, "Of course! I'd love to. My attacks aren't offensive but, they maybe useful in an unintended sort of way." She paused, "I have a stuffed bear that my magic grows rather large so we could use him as a temporary shield if need be."
The senshi of comfort explained and looked around, "Which direction do you think they maybe?"

That pulse of Chaos, whether it helped bring down that monster above them or not, was obscene. It reminded her of when someone reached into her chest. It reminded her of when they took something from her that she wouldn't understand until weeks later when she slowly woke up to her siblings standing over her, and found a knight who could explain what happened. That was what she was watching, the power that could've killed her.
Multiplied.
"Ah, sis, you haven't taken the Advil-"
Richtersveld shuddered. Advil couldn't fix this. "Right," murmured she, popping the pill and dry swallowing it without a further thought.
Dumuzi's brows knit. He knew she wasn't feeling okay, and to be honest, to say he was feeling okay after that s**t would've been a stretch, but what the ******** was he supposed to tell her to do? Go sit?
Not like they could go anywhere other than a slightly different area.
