Alcor Star Info
Alcor is a binary star-system that when coupled with Mizar they create what is known as a quadruple system. Together they are also called the Horse and Rider and can be seen in the night sky in the 2nd star from the end of the big dipper handle (Ursa Major).
Alcor Homeworld Info
World - Above the Surface:When viewing images of Alcor one would assume that given that the Alpha star gives off a blue color and Beta (Alcorb/Elenora) gives off a redish hue that the Alpha is hotter. Unfortunately you couldn't be any more wrong. It is from an internal glow that resonates under the surface of Alcor (Alpha) and penetrates through layers upon layers of ice and snow. Additional light resonates from the reflective properties of the outer crust as Alpha and Beta are locked in an eternal waltz in the evening sky.
The
surface is a barren tundra, large bodies of frozen water encircled by mountains of ice. Stalagmites and columns jut out at varying crude angles like lances beckoning intruders near.
Where there is danger if one is not prepared for the frigged temperatures or lacking proper foot-ware to keep from falling, there is also beauty. Peaceful silence as snow falls all around like a snow-globe as a light breeze dances with stray strands of hair that have fallen free of a headscarf or hood. It is here clarity can be found among these foothills and cliff edges where citizens and guests alike may find freedom from chaos and distractions and just simply be.
As wanderers continue to follow what seem to be frozen trails, scars in the ice that had over time been filled mending the fractured ground, it soon becomes apparent that no matter how far they go or high they climb there are no cities to be seen. Carefully hidden in a place not seen by the light of day for many centuries it is in the least likely of places the door will be opened.
World - Below the Surface:Where some caves lead to dead ends, others
continue on into elaborate tunnel systems till they open up into large
dome shape air pockets big enough to house a city of anywhere between 20,000 to 50,000 people.
As it is very hard to grow anything on ice as such there are very few herbivores; to be frank there are none. Animals and creatures on the alpha star, aside from some fish found in melted pools as you get closer to the actual surface of Alcor are predators and live by the eat or be eaten mentality; all but two tunnel systems have been destroyed and it will take 3 weeks to make it down that far and back which is why nobody goes down that far anymore.

xx People: Citizens: Often referred to as Alcorian's, the people of the Alpha star are generally quite humble and enjoy partaking in cold-weather activities such as ice skating up on the surface or tunnel/ cave sledding. However there are those among the youth who can be quite the terrors and enjoy egging visitors on in an attempt to get them to shed their outer ware and see who has the higher stamina when left to the frigid chill.
Physically wise, Alcorian's tend to have darker skin as well as be more well built as most are either hunters or carpenters. However, don't let the fact that they seem to live as recluses under the surface of their home-world fool you. They have just as much pride and spirit as those who reside on their sister star.
Senshi: The senshi of Alcor are twins born through the union of both stars. One is to remain on their birth star while the other goes to the sister star to be raised by grandparents upon awakening. They are considered guardians and advisers of their respective home-worlds and ambassadors when sent to visit allied stars and asteroids.
Government: Split into three parts when voting or decisions must be made; two of the three parties must agree for anything to be passed. The hier; who generally has the whole of Alcor to think about while their husband/wife, born citizen of Alcor, speaks for the individual and voiceless; then the council.
King/ Queen - There is a ruling family that resides in the primary
structure located in the center of the capital in the northern most dome. The first born, no matter the gender, is always the successor and their chosen is picked among the citizens.
Council - On the Alpha star each dome has what would be considered a clan leader or lord of the city. Their position is succeeded by their children unless their line ends before a child is born; then and only then is a new leader elected. These lords in turn create an overarching council that convene once every six months at the capital; the only structure that protrudes past the upper surface and can be seen if you know what's you're looking for.
Citizens - If citizens do not agree with their lord they are welcome to travel to the capital to voice concerns with proposed laws or events to take place in an attempt to sway a decision.
Trading:Most trading goes through their sister star who in turn supplies them with necessities and luxuries.
Export: Pure ice free of any minerals, pelts, meat
Import: Seasoning and spices, metals and tools,
Economy: Silver is the metal of choice and what coins are fashioned out of; however, if you have the ability to help someone you do it; not out of obligation but out of necessity to survive. Trading happens between individuals; skills for food. Family above all else then community.
