Introduction You are out for a stroll around the farm, were you stumble across a misty, gray haze. As you look around, you cannot make heads nor tails of what is up or down; what is left or right. All you know is that you are there. You begin to concentrate, hoping to find your way back to the normal green field. However, as you are concentrating shapes begin to form. From those shapes spring forth lush plants, vivid sky, and an intriguing landscape. Keep in mind be careful what you wish for... You begin to wonder why you have even found this place, or what this place is even for. Then... You spot it! A whitish, grayish foal; mater of fact you almost tripped over it. It gives you a ruff whinny, and looks up to you. The foal leaps up, and makes a mad dash back towards the misty gray haze... Are you Woman or Man enough to chase and capture this foal...? If you answered yes then read on! If you answered no hurry, and turn back now before it is too late! Well now that you have managed to capture one of these rare foals. Yes, even rarer than the Allicorn... You wonder what you are supposed to do with it. Simple, you are going to raise it from scratch (keep a diary). Not even the bread or apples has the same effect on these foals as it does for the others. Depending on your and your foals actions is how it will grow up. It also affects what it will become. Depending on your foals actions different tasks, quests, & missions will be offered. I do not expect you to complete them all, just give it your best shot. Tasks, quests, & missions can alter growth, happiness, personality, breed, element, strengths and weakness, and when it can and cannot breed. Your foal will not always be white/gray unless of course you make it that way. Depending on its likes and dislikes is how its coloring and design will turn out. Even quests, and missions can alter a foals coloring!

InformationDue to the work that goes into a Changeling, only one Changeling per Protector. Also, there are very few out there, so please let's not be greedy.
However, if your Mare/Stallion mates and produces a foal you two may share joint ownership or give the foal to a friend. The only reason this is allowed is because when a Changeling becomes an Adult there isn't much left for them to do unless they work hard to become an Allicorn or Hippocampus.
If you are interested in owning a Changeling please Private Message Kawaii_Hime_Ceres. We strongly suggest that if you plan on becoming the owner of a Changeling foal come on in and chat! Get to know the people because you will be seeing a lot of them!
It is greatly appreciated if you put a photo of your Changeling into your signature or signature page. You may also choose to use a randomizer. I do understand that Gaia does have its signature limitations.
The most important responsibility of the Protector is to maintain the Changelings diary. Once you have purchased your Changeling I will PM you asking a name for the foal, and in some cases the gender. Once those have been given I will create you a diary. In the diary you will need to store any information pertaining to your Changeling, as well as, write entries about your time together. You may also create entries in their point of view.
Diaries/Logs need to be written in at least once a month! If you are having some real life issues please send Ceres a quick blurb on what's up.
 When a Changeling has been Put to Pasture: Simply put it means that you didn't have time for your Changeling, and the rest of the world is tired of waiting. I prefer to not let Changelings change hands, as from what I have seen, it doesn't work to well. Instead, you get to keep them. However, they become a normal horse. They will not change, or grow when they have been Put to Pasture. You may though request an RP session with Ceres to regain access back into the island! Also anything you purchase in the Corner Market can be used on a Changeling who has been Put to Pasture.
In general, role-play is highly encouraged: within diaries, and in the HQ thread. Please have fun with this - a Changeling is a growing foal who's development into a Mare or Stallion is completely controlled by you - whether it will become a Pegasus or a Unicorn, a Horse or an Allicorn / Hippocampus- your interactions with your foal, as well as, the foals interactions with others will shape the outcome of the foal. Also - the Changelings interactions with other Changelings will play a role in the matters of matting for life as well.
Growing a Foal: You must complete the requirements! Then PM Ceres to tell her that you are ready for your foal to grow. Then you will have to have an RP session with Ceres to find out your adult quest! These can be completed at your own pace! However, if you're going to post monthly make sure the entries are worth the while. If you're more frequent at roll-playing then shorter entries are fine.
For a Foal to become a Mare/Stallion: You will need to complete at least 2 tasks, and a combination of at least 4 Quests/Missions. You'll need to have at least one RP session with Ceres were she gives you a book. You will need to complete it, because that book is your special that should give your foal some stand out effect from the rest. Lastly to help build character you will need at least one play date! This can be with one or multiple foals/adults.
For a foal to become a Unicorn/Pegasus: You will need to complete at least 4 tasks, and a combination of at least 6 Quests/Missions. You'll need to have at least one RP session with Ceres were she gives you a book. This book should be about a Unicorn or a Pegasus; depends on what you're trying to accomplish. You will need to complete it, because that book is your special that should give your foal some stand out effect from the rest. As well as, teaching it about Unicorns or Pegasus. Lastly to help build character you will need at least one play date! This can be with one or multiple foals/adults.
If you have a Unicorn or Pegasus you may work harder to obtain a third form; an Allicorn. To accomplish this you'll need to complete a combination of at least 6 tasks, and a combination of at least 8 Quests/Missions. You'll need to have at least two RP sessions with Ceres were she gives you a different books both times. The first book should be about your counter half (Example: You have learned about Pegasus, then you need to learn about Unicorns.) The second book should be about Allicorns. Lastly to help build character you will need at least one play date! This can be with one or multiple foals/adults.
If you have an Adult who wishes to become a Hippocampus you'll need to see Ceres and pray they don't sprout gills in the mean time. However, this third form isn't nearly as hard to accomplish as the Allicorn. You'll need for your Mare/Stallion to learn how to live on their own. They must also have an obsession with the sea. Then you'll need to have an RP session with Ceres and have her give you the book on Hippocampus. This will entail a small quest of items. Lastly to help build character you will need at least one play date! This can be with one or multiple foals/adults.
Please Note: That if your foal is still gray when it comes time for them to grow, they will not grow. They must have some color, or marking! If you wish for them to be gray you must get this pre approved with Ceres.
Also remember, the more you do, the quicker it goes. Depending on what you write, is how quickly we can add Tasks, Quests, or Missions. If your over all goal is for an Allicorn; plan ahead. When we say a certain number to accomplish that is overall, not per stage!
In every diary you will find Tasks (These are average run of the mill chores.), Quests (These are things that will structure how your foal grows.), and Missions (These are things to make you, or your foal happier; or bring you closer together.). It is your job to check the first post of the diary. I create Tasks, Quests, and Missions depending on what you write in your diary, and the interactions with your foals. In the Special section (Just something random, out of the ordinary that is extra special!) if no instructions are given then that means you need to PM me for further details! Remember I do not expect you to be able to complete every Task, Quest, Mission, or Special that is given. Part of growing up is learning about giving in, and defeat. Incomplete Tasks, Quests, Missions, and Specials are put into size 8, and kept red (They may become available again at another time). You may also complete Tasks, Quests, Missions, and Specials with other Changelings and their owners.
How do I get a Special that is listed in my diary? Firstly do not ask for them. Specials are generally only given based on information that does not come from information given in a diary. The only hint I will give you is to locate me throughout the day. The more you interact with myself, and at the HQ the more likely you are to stumble across a special. Most specials are book, or group related!
Magic Trees (see the map) are located near the Changeling HQ, and on the Beach! The tree nearest the HQ houses strong magical powers to protect the farm area from any predator. Eating the fruit off of this tree could randomly add any good or bad quality on a Changeling. Eating two would make the Changeling super sick. As for the tree on the beach, it has many different kinds of fruits. There are at least two fruits for every foal on the island, and yes they grow back auto when picked. Giving one of this nifty fruits to your Changelings, depending on the look of the fruit (yes this requires a bit of drawing) it can automatically change the Changelings coat color plus give it a marking. If you are super lucky you may also get a random element from the fruit. You may eat two, but the second can only be eaten in adult hood. After that it makes your Changeling super sick. If you, the owner, of your Changeling eat a bite of their fruit it will grant you the affect of projecting images to one other, but not full communication (full communication is a special). You may not just go up to the tree and pluck a fruit; it must be on your path while you are out on a Task, Mission, Quest, or Special. I wouldn't advise you eating more than one bite though...
You can buy items from the Corner Market (coming soon). However, you are not limited to these items. Any item that seems fit for your Changeling from any other mini-shop on GAIA is fair game. Just post those pictures in the diary. You may also use the Internet to locate pictures, or draw them yourselves. Keep in mind, that colors most often used, or displayed around the foal may wear off onto the foal.
Also the Corner Market will include Potions and Goop that can instantly change a Changeling. However, it cannot instantly grow them into an Allicorn or Hippocampus.
Your Changeling will be able to have foals, usually one foal per Protector involved. Please do not sell these foals, but you are more then welcome to either keep them to yourself or to give them to friends. A Changeling can only mate with another Changeling. This is so that we can know for sure a next generation Changeling will be born. I will also state that same gender, as well as opposite gender relationships are welcome. However, only opposite gender relationships can produce a foal. I am sorry we do not offer any fertility drugs or stud services here are at Mystic Farms. There is a way for a same gender relationship to get a foal... Once they have courted for a week a Special will be opened. This special will allow you to go into the Mystic Grove and allow the couple to try and bring a foal home. Once a Changeling mates, it is generally for life!! If you choose to break a mating, then your Changeling will suffer serious penalties. This is to ensure that you are not mating them just to produce offspring. Remember with every action, there is a reaction. For Changelings to be considered as mates they must have courted for at least 1 week (7 days). Once she is with foal it must be roll played again for at least 1 week (7 days). The father must participate, other wise it will count as abandonment. In that case it may take up 2 weeks (14 days) for a foal to be birthed. You may not sell one of these Changelings. It would be a great dishonor to them. Ask yourself this; would you want your child to be sold? However, I do understand that one Changeling is already a heavy load, so you may give the foal as a gift. Just make sure they are just as serious as you about raising a Changeling. I am sorry if some of these rules seem harsh, but I want to make sure the Changelings stay happy and healthy.
Please Under no circumstances ask Protectors to sell their foals. It is very hurtful to them. They have put a lot of precious time and creativity into raising them. As I stated before: Would you sell your children? Changelings are not something to be bought just to collect dust, or be misused in any way. If you disregard this rule the Protectors and Changelings will come after you! With permission I used Anya's FAE and Kamiki's GMFC rules as guidelines.

Foals are much like human babies, and expect to be treated as such. Everything you do, and they do in this stage will affect them later in life. Some things have an instant effect on them, while others take a while to rub off onto them... Trust me a painted stall could render a mane/tall color change! There are also stats that each one comes with, but don't worry with a little work all those "kinks" and "quarks" can be smoothed out... Make sure you pay attention; some foals will show a liking to particular elements... This could be an indication that it will grow up to be more than an ordinary Horse? But heck any Changeling isn?t just an ordinary Horse!Mare 
Ok, so all that hard work has finally paid off... Doesn't mean the adventures over yet! Changelings are constantly changing, even in there adult forms. However, changes in this stage aren?t as vast, or life altering... Mostly in this stage they are growing into their new form, and perfecting it. Also they are ready to find a life mate, and start a family. Some of your adventuring may get slowed down once they start a family.Stallion

Hippocampis - Ok, so you've slaved and sweated... Well, haven't we all? Now it has all paid off. This is the major achievement of them all. However, there was a price to pay, they cannot return to land... They now belong to the sea. They will loose wings and horns, with no hope of gaining them back!
Allicorn - Ok, so you've slaved and sweated... Well, haven't we all? Now it has all paid off. Your Pegasus/Unicorn isn't just a stand-alone now. Talk about royalty... They are now an Allicorn. They have both Wings, and Horns... However, there is no returning, and no changing into a Hippocampus.

Breed This section is only for Changelings. When a Foal becomes an adult it will become what it has the most X's of. Example: Most X's are Unicorn; then it becomes a Unicorn. The further the X's are to the word stronger (not seen in diary) the stronger your Changeling is in that field. For a Changeling to become an Allicorn it must work very hard, and have at least 8 hearts in Unicorn/Pegasus, and 10 in the other Unicorn/Pegasus. Once it has achieved those requirements an X will be placed in the first slot of the Allicorn line. Again, the further the X's are to the word stronger (not seen in diary) the stronger your Allicorn is. For a Changeling to become a Hippocampus it is a bit more difficult. It will have to learn separation from his/her owner, and have a very fond liking of the sea. Once it has pretty much mastered the water element he/she will begin to transform. You'll need a little help from Ceres because she'll have to give you a book with special instructions. Again, the further the X's are to the word stronger (not seen in diary) the stronger your Hippocampus is. Abilities I hope this is self-explanatory for the most part. However, a few Examples: Climbing [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [ X] [] Running This indicates that your Changeling or Avaling is a better runner. Climbing [] [] [] [] [] [ X] [] [] [] [] Running This indicates that your Changeling or Avaling is a pretty good at both. But a tad better at running. Element I hope this is self-explanatory for the most part. However, a few Examples: Light [] [ X] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] Dark This indicates that your Changeling or Avaling has better control over the good elements/magic. Doing a dark spell for them would be very difficult. Water [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [ X] [] [] Fire This indicates that your Changeling or Avaling is good at controling the Fire element. Most of the time an element mark will not be found near the middle, unless they are just starting to grasp a certain element. Having an element in the middle would mean they would be weak in both areas, and harldy able to control it. So it is best to pick one or the other, and not teeter.
