WinterKitty The Capture It was a sunny day and I was walking in a field near a forest. It was almost summer, and the dandylions were white and fluffy. I was walking through a patch of the white fluffy dandylions when I tripped. I sat up and looked behind me, seeing a whitish gray foal running towards the forest. "What is that foal doing out here, without it's mother?" I thought to myself. I got up and ran, deciding to follow it. I ran and ran until I finally caught up to it, gently grabbing it around it's middle. I looked at the foal closer. "It's.......it's a changeling!" The little foal winnied at me as I held it up, looking at it.

I take the foal into the house and give him a piece of bread, which he accepts hungrily. I set him down on my couch, surrounded by pillows and I give him another piece of bread. "Now, stay here while I go fix you a place to sleep!" I ran outside and went to my empty stables. I looked in each of them and picked the one closest to the door because it was cleanest. I went to the shed and got some lightblue paint and some wood. I ran back to the stable and I grabbed a hammer, apintbrush, and nails from an empty stall. I quickly threw together some wood, short enough for the tiny foal to reach, and I made a manger, filling it with hay and bread. I then painted the walls of the stall lightblue, because I had decided to name the foal Cloud. I put sand and hay on the bottom, and I was done!!!

"Well" I said, looking at my work, "I hope this is good enough!". I ran to the house and picked up Cloud, looking at him. I walked to the stall and set him down in it, closing the door. He sniffed around a little bit, then whinnied. I laughed. "You like it, Cloud?" I asked him, reaching down and petting him.

I pick up Cloud at his stall, holding a blanket and the basket, still half asleep. He whinied at me, as if to say "Hey!! Put me back down, I'm tired!" I smiled and I kept on walking, out past where I found the little colt. I walked through a corn feild with him, and once we were past that, I set him down.

He sniffed around, while I set up the picnic. I layed down the blanket and food, and he trotted over and plopped down, beginning to eat his carrots, hey, apples, and bread. I laughed. Then I remembered something...I forgot water!! I took out a rope that I had brought and tied it loosely around his neck. We got up and I began to look for a stream, spring, river, anything!! Finally, after a half hour of searching, I found a little spring. I looked around, finding a rock with a deep empression in it. I picked it up, filling it with water. Cloud sniffed and licked the water. Eventually he jumped into the shallows, playing around in the water. I took the rope up again, starting to walk back to the picnic. I looked up at the sky, but something caught my eye. I looked closer...it was....it was...a hot air balloon!! I remembered then that my neighbor had a hot air balloon. We got back to the picnic, and finished up. We took the long way back, and we were walking by a cotton field. The cotton was ready to pick, and Cloud sniffed it, and started to n** at it. I picked a whole bunch, and brought it with us back home. When we got there, I put the cotton in is stall. "Just like you" I said, smiling at Cloud. "White and fluffy!!"

I smiled at Cloud again. Today had been fun, but it was geting late. I arranged the cotton we had gathered in his stall, to make it like a bed. "Good night, Cloud!!" I walked into the house, and both me and Cloud fell blissfully asleep.

The next morning when I awoke, I had an idea. I called my neighbor, David, who is about my age, and we talked for a little while. Later on, he came over in his big truck with something in the back of it. As I got a closer look, I relised it was the airballoon I saw when Cloud and I went on the picnic! He smiled at me. "I thought maybe you would like to go for a ride?" I looked around, then stuttered a little bit. "Uh...y-yea, sure!" He nodded and began to pull it out of his truck so he could get it all ready and blown up.

I watched him get it set up. When he was done, a walked over to him. "Hey, would you mind if we bring my little colt, Cloud, along? He won't take up to much room..." I watched Davids face become slightly dissapointed, but then it brightened up again. "Yea, that's fine!"
