Tasks, Quests, Missions & Specials
Remember I do not expect you to be able to complete every Task, Quest, or Mission that is given. Part of growing up is learning about giving in, and defeat. Incomplete Tasks, Quests, Missions are in normal sized text; smaller text means it has been completed.

Tasks
These are avarage run of the mill chores.

Task 1: Capture Your Foal...
Task 2: Your foal is tired and hungry... Well after the long and very drawn out process of you getting aquainted with your newest addition... The foal is looking pretty tired, and not to mention hungry. Create the foals stall (color scheme will affect the foal... so will other things). Once the stall is complete don't forget to get her some munchies! All items collected may be your own creation or anothers from Gaia. Please remember that the Mystic Farm apples and breed will not have the same effect on her as the other foals. Good luck!
Task 2: Zekke is start to notice the vaces. They arn't good for his hooves when he steps on them. Replace them with real flowers, now that you have some help.
Task 3: Install a 'pet door' once Zeeke is trained not to run away... It may come in handy later...

Quests
These are things that will structure how your foal grows.

Quest 1: Start a garden. Zeeke seems interested in those veggies. Perhaps teaching him to garden would help bring some calmness to him, as well as making him more aware about his surroundings. Remember he came from the Mist... Lets hope he just doesn't eat all of the garden before it grows.
Quest 2: Rice Balls... Are they really ediable, or are they living? I really hope he didn't eat the sleeping one if they are living; however, whatever he did to it is taking some affect on Zeeke. As for the pysic rice ball; see if it is willing to teach Zeeke any of its tricks. You might just find that the affects will rub off on Zeeke.
Quest 3: Teach Zeeke to jump, and perhaps control his running. If you channel it I am sure he can run even faster!

Missions
These are things to make you, or your foal happier; or bring you closer together.

Mission 1: Wasn't sure if you said you picked it up or not... However, I think you mentioned he like fish. Perhaps a small bowl of his own would also bring him some comfort to his new surroundings, and perhaps even teach him to be calm when he is alone.
Mission 2: Continue with the garden, and don't forget to teach him about it, and how to make things grow. Or how to put flowers in the vases without eating them.
Mission 3: Apon your return you fine that Zekke has picked up a not so great habit. Word has it, he doesn't come back for long periods of time when "blinking" in and out.
Mission 4: Zekke help Marushii...!

Specials
Just something random, out of the ordinary that is extra special!
If no instructions are given then that means you need to PM me for further details!

Special 1: Quest! (Zekke's Missing!)
Special 2: Easter! Check the HQ, Page 9! Everyone, even new Changelings & Owners are participating in the event, so don't forget to add comments for them!
Special 3: Mission! (The Power of Thought!)
Special 4: Quest! (Beach Treasure = Growth Spurt?)
Special 5: Check the HQ, Page 84! (Sleep Over!)
Special 6: Mission! (Another Like Me!)

YEAH! This is an OOC post. o_o

Zekke's diary has five pages. Maru is lazy.

Maru is going to be CRUNCHING her posts together.

Meaning...? For every two journal entries, one post shall be taken. If it's a written, story-like post, it'll have its own post.

THIS POST... shall be Zekke's items, gifts he recieved, and teh garden.

So! What's this mean to you? Easy... Sit back, relax, AND DON'T POST.

ktkxbai.

Marushii's Journal -- The First Entry (Two tasks in one! Sorta.)

Finally, after a long day at the Mystic Farm... I'm back. An Auction was held a few days ago, and it was quite interesting, to say the least -- mostly because I happened to chain myself to the auction block! :laughs:

You see, there were four foals at the auction... But only one of them caught my eye. Unlike the rest of the foals there, his coloring was... plain. Not vibrant or excieting like the rest. At once, I felt the urge to own him -- as did other people. @_@

To ensure that I kept close to the auction and stayed on top of the bids, I kinda... Chained myself to the sign where the high bids were posted. sweatdrop Miss Kawaii_Hime_Ceres brought me lunch, so it wasn't TOO much of a big deal, even though Zekke (un-named at the time) took my bread that I was about to eat...

Then he took my carrots. And then my spoon. eek Luckily, he was still within reach of my chained-area, so at least my spoon was recovered. blaugh

After the auction was over, I hung out at the Mystic Farms for a bit, waiting for Miss Kawaii_Hime_Ceres to give him a final check up, just in case.

The trip home was, thankfully, without error. I brought Orange Sherbert with me, since the rest of my equines were too busy grazing to be distracted by a trip to the 'Farms. Granted, Sherbert isn't that comfortable to ride (as there's always the chance you might accidently "impale" yourself on one of his shoulder-horns), but he goes at the perfect pace. When Zekke first saw Sherbert, he at once bounded over to him and walked around, before trying to reach up and sniff his shoulder-horns. Sherbert in turn turned and gave him a quizzical look of his own. Methinks the pair will get along VERY well, as Sherbert slowed his pace to match Zekke's on the way home.

When we returned home, I immediatly put the pair into the fenced-in field, as I had yet to ready Zekke's stall. Zekke's stall is in the far corner of my barn, set so that anyone who has any intention in coming in to visit will have to get past my Bicorns and Corgan, my Sarnin... Trust me, they do not enjoy being waken up in the middle of the night. xd Across from Zekke's stall is Val's stall -- convently marked by all the after-sale Valentines decorations. heart Next to Val's stall is Raquell's and Celestis' stall... I admit, I just combined two stalls into one, as the Unicorn and Pegasus dislike being seperated. Plus, with their two foals... heart At least Zekke will have friends near his age to play with -- I just have to get them properly introduced. heart But, on another note, the combined stall is an explosion of whirls of blues and whites -- sky-colors for Celestis, and watery colors for Raquell.

AH! I'm babbling again... Back to Zekke's stall, now. The stall is quite plain (at the moment), as I have yet to get anything for it. For now, straw covers the floor and is piled into one corner to act as a "bed". I have a few shelves in there to place items, as from what I've seen from Changlings, items effect them... I wonder what Zekke will like best? Miss Ceres warned me that he's over playful, so perhaps I'll get some toys to distract him, 'least he finds fun in tormenting the other residents here...

Aside from the shelves, the stall's wood is cherry wood. Not only is the wood pretty, but the scent it gives off... Mmm. heart I don't think it's wise to burn any of my insence -- I might send Zekke into a coughing fit. @_@

Like the rest of the stalls, Zekke has a window in the wall on the back of his stall. The window is firmly latched with charms and wards burned into the wood -- I managed to get (though I'm sure some of my pets would say "con" is more the proper term) one of my friends to do that, as my talent with magic is very... Limited. The charms prevent anyone with ill intent to break it or open it from the outside, but they're openable from the inside... But I wouldn't recomend that, as my sister Jessie-kat found it amusing to plant cactuses outside of ALL my windows. rolleyes

I believe that's it, though... Over time his stall will change, mark my wor-- MEEP! Something tells me something isn't right...

And the fact that I hear a certain horse whinnying outside my window while galloping by is not a good sign, methinks.

Marushii's Journal -- The Second Entry

WELL! That was... interesting. It turns out that the horse galloping by was Sherbert -- he came to get me, as my sister Jessie-kat decided to swing by. (GASP!)

So! After leaving my comfortable cottage-home, I noticed Jessie-kat was in the paddock with Zekke (it's pronounced like "Seek" except you put a "Z" instead of an "S", in case anyone's wondering), playing with a green ball -- looks like Zekke got his first gift!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. ((Made by Jessie-kat! You rule, matey! xd ))

I'm a bit afraid that he'll catch onto the green -- I'm not a fan of that color myself, unlike green-crazy Jessie-kat. But, as long as Zekke is happy, I'm happy. n_n

After playing soccer (Zekke and J-kat vs. Sherbert and I -- Zekke outran all of us -- I knew changelings were fast, but I'd never think that fast!), we headed into town. Luckily, nothing too serious happened. We recieved some stares, but not many. After all, what's so strange about two girls with two "horses"?

I've managed to find a few things for Zekke -- the first was a beautiful "twinkle" dream catcher that's white-grey in color. Zekke appears to be interested in it, as he refused to let it out of his sight. I'm extra happy about this -- not only will he have good dreams, he'll be interested in one of my hobbies... Even though I haven't made any dream catchers in a while. Heh. sweatdrop

While walking around (and nearly missing knocking into a few shoppers, as well as preventing Zekke from grabbing hold of a strip of cloth that was under a pile of cloth... Now, it that happened, I really doubt I'd ever be let back in that market again! :laughs: He seemed a bit upset that he wasn't able to make the pile of cloth topple, yet his mood changed when we passed a stand that was selling glass fish. By the look of his eyes, I could tell he wanted one -- so I bought the two I thought looked best, since he appearened indecisive. He was content to let me carry them in my pocket, since they were fragile and liable to break if carried elsewhere.

On our way back home, I managed to find a vegetable stand that was about to close up. You know how hard it is to find food in that market?! I may as well start growing my own food... But, anyway, I bought a bushel of carrots from the farmer. I've also placed some orders with him, as he also ran a food-catering service. Hopefully, the dumplings I ordered will arrive soon!

Zekke managed to break away from Sherbert and I when we were returning home ((J-kat left us at the market, as she lives within Barton Town)). It was a good thing I was with Sherbert - we have a very hard time keeping up with Zekke. It was a good thing we knew of shortcuts, or else we would have never caught up with him!

Both horses are now in their stalls, though. I've hanged Zekke's new dreamcatcher over his stall door so the dreams will be forced to enter through that way. When I left him, he was looking at the dreamcatcher with sleepy eyes... Can he see dreams, I wonder? Tomorrow, methinks I'll start planning ways to test his psychic abilites. For now... sleep beckons.

Marushii's Journal -- The Garden

I really can't grow anything. Even a chia pet. eek But, considering how Zekke nudged his carrots this way and that before eating them, methinks a garden for him is the best idea. Since I don't have a garden, I had the up-most joy in putting in one, as well as shoveling around dirt.

Since I believe growing flowers from scratch would take too long, I admit... I got flowers from a flower shop. They were free, although they're a bit small. At least the glass is tough! I put the flower (vase and all) into the ground and half-buried it... At least it looks real, right? (after all, it's the thought that counts!)

Luckily, there are some wild vegetables and fruits growing nearby -- at least I won't have a food shortage! I've also spotted a few mushrooms, but they're non-poisonous. Just in case, I'll be sure to prevent Zekke from munching on any.

Speaking of Zekke... The first time he saw the miniature garden, he was thrilled -- he couldn't stand still! He ran circles around the garden and nosed here and there, jerking back with surprise when he found out about the vases. Something tells me that I should put the vases deeper into the ground, but then again... He... doesn't step on flowers. Or at least the ones I placed there.

After becoming bored of the flowers, he spotted the carrots as well as the other food growing there. At the sight of the lettuce, he perked up then kicked one. sweatdrop He was a bit startled by the fact that it fell apart due to his kick, but after sniffing and eating a leaf, he understood what it was.

But even that didn't stop him from kicking a few more. ^^; I managed to distract him with another carrot and a strawberry, though. When the strawberry was eaten, methinks it wasn't to his liking -- he eyed the strawberries warily before wandering over to the flowers, where he picked up one of the Blue Notes and ate it.

At that, he appeared to be dizzy -- quickly, I lead him over to where the pond was and had him drink some water. Those plants aren't poisonous (thank goodness!), but I think he's learned his lesson about eating flowers! blaugh

When Zekke was drinking water from the pond, he seemed interested in the koi I had placed there earlier... But not too much. Perhaps it'll be better if I got an indoor fish for him to see in his stall, instead of having an outdoor fish...

On our way back to the paddlock, I checked the mailbox. Guess what? My dumplings and sushi have arrived! Also, my sister struck again by giving me a riceball with doll ears, much like the kind I wear as ear warmers. Of course, Zekke just had to take the rice ball and run off, ensuring a game of chase.

((Angelfire sux0rs. Pictures have been removed.))

Zekke ran, but he stayed close enough so that I'd have a fair chance at catching him. It was fun, though I was drop-dead exhausted when we finished! I can barely hold this pen any longer I'm so tired...

Speaking of sleepyness, Zekke found the "sleeping" dumpling interesting... Not to mention tasteful. o_o; I've stored the dumplings in my refridgerator, except for the "psychic" one... That I left on his stall's shelf to see if it's effected by anything. If it is, then I'll have to investigate into Zekke's powers more. I've heard that one of the changelings has power over lightning -- perhaps there's a secret, a power locked within each?

((Story time! Pardon the idleness of updates... Homework is evil. v.v Next week is my spring break, so I'll post more often. 3nodding ))

Marushii stretched, sighing as she made the final adjustments to the garden's latest addition -- a blue flamingo. "There! That'll liven the place up a bit..." She said to herself, laughing as a white draconic creature on her shoulder trilled in agreement. "What'cha think, Safi?" She asked the feather dragon before walking over to the pond, casting her eyes over it. Safiyah launched herself from Marushii's shoulders and flapped her wings, taking perch on a nearby tree's branch, her dark blue eyes fastened on the sparkiling brightness of the waterfall. The kitsune laughed, closing her eyes and stretching yet again, letting out a sigh of relief when she feels her shoulder's cracking.

Big mistake.

With a yelp of surprise, the kitsune soon found herself in the pond, sputting. "ZEEEEEKKE!" She whined loudly, unable to keep the faintest of chuckles from her voice. She turned, expecting to see her mischievious changeling foal there.

"...Zekke?" Marushii asked the wind, standing up soaked. Her foal wasn't there -- nor was anyone else, for that matter. Marushii looked up, blinking in surprise as a white dot was fluttering higher up in the mountain. Safiyah? Oh! My yelp must have startled her... Poor girl -- at least she's going to where the rest of my dragon-companions are. But... who...? Marushii shook her head and stepped from the pond, removing her jacket and wringing it out. She wrinkled her nose, grimicing at the damage the coat sustained. "Oh great..."

"Is it normal for you humoids to cry out a name to the air then deal with their business?" A voiced purred from behind Marushii. The kitsune turned, blinking in surprise at the fairy-winged cat that daintily picked its way across the lillypads, ignoring the koi darting about under her paws. "Or is it because you use a vase to plant your flowers, instead of growing them naturally?" The cat purred, stepping onto the land to sit down, looking up at the kitsune with jungle-green eyes.

"I... Err... Do I know you?" Marushii said, flicking one of her ears back.

"No." The cat said, flicking her tail to curl across her paws. "But my name is Amaya. I was..." The cat paused, slitting her eyes slightly, pondering. "Drawn here. If you do not mind, I will aquaint myself with your plants and look after them, seeing as you planted a vase."

Marushii bristled slightly, saying, "I only placed the vases there so that when my equine friends happened to eat any of them, I could easily replace them." The kitsune paused. "Did you happen to see anyone push me in?" She asked, curious.

Amaya lifted a paw, licking it before running it over her ears. "No." She purred. "It was just you and the Angelic one, but now it's just you and me." The cat-fairy paused in her cleaning, giving Marushii a feline grin. "And I would change if I were you, as your clothes will more and likely be ruined if you remained in them for the rest of the day. Unfortunitly, my power over water is limited only to the creation and healing of water -- I am unable to get rid of it."

"I see. I will take you up on your suggestion, Amaya." Marushii replied, her tail twitching slightly. Truth to be told, she was getting cold standing here... And where was Zekke? "Farewell, Amaya -- 'til next time!" With a short bow, the kitsune trotted off, her jacket slung over one of her shoulders as she headed back to her cottage-home.

Marushii's Journal -- Wet.
Wet. WetwetwetwetWET! When I was over by the pond, I was mysteriously pushed in... Not by anyone, though it felt like it. Magic? Perhaps. Anyway, my clothes (leather jacket, stockings, skirt, shirt, gloves, and boots) are drying outside in the sun... I've wrung all the water I could out of my hair, and I'm now wearing my St. Patrick's day outfit, due to the lack of any other clean clothes. X_X

I checked in on the dumplings earlier... the part Zekke ate grew back. O_O; It's just... odd. And the water dumpling was starting to freeze up -- I could swear it glared at me...

...all of the dumplings are out in Zekke's stall now, though. The Psychic dumpling is with Zekke, though, balanced on his head in an odd way. I find it pretty amusing m'self. XD

Zekke, as it turns out, was in his paddock when I was pushed into the pond... The poor dear was trying despretly to jump the fence to come to me! He looked pretty worried, but he's all right now, thankfully. Soon I'll find something for him to use to practice jumping on... With his speed, I bet he'll be able to jump far, high, and long. :3

Well! That's all for today... I'm about to join Zekke in a soccer-match against Raquell and Caelestis' twin foals. The three get along together VERY well -- I'm happy Zekke has friends his age. heart Well! Game calls! Tomorrow I'll bring all three to the Garden to meet Amaya... Hopefully more on the mystery of the mysterious pusher'll be revealed tomorrow.

Marushii's Journal -- Assistance in the form of a Sarcastic Fairy
Surprise surprise Marushii! When I went to fetch Zekke from his stall, I was really shocked at Zekke's mane -- it's no longer grey! In fact, it's a really misty blue-green... I love the color! He's just sooo cute now! n___n

Instead of letting him into the paddock, I lead him over to the gardens... The rest of the equines are eating a belated breakfast at the moment, since they slept in, oddly. Weird.

Anyway! Zekke took a liking to Amaya right away. At the first sight of the fae, he zipped over to her... And stepped on a few vases in the process. Amaya immediatly called upon her "Water of Healing" to run over his hooves, just in case.

Amaya and I removed the vases from the ground and replaced them with the flowers, though they're cut... I seriously doubt they'll take root, but Amaya told me that the flowers will still seed. I'm still unsure about this gardening-thing... Despite Amaya's knowledge, methinks I'll need asistance. I believe one of the other Changeling owners has a garden -- I'll lurk around the HQ a bit and try to locate that person. Hopefully I'll get some gardening tips... ^^

While we were digging, Zekke wandered off. I didn't notice until Amaya looked up, watching him as he emerged from the nearby grove of trees. He... was carrying self-made boutique of white flowers. He came up to us, then dropped the flowers into the vase. I don't know how he did it -- the flowers just righted themselves, flower-side-up and stem-down, before falling into the vase. I'm suspecting that he had the psychic dumpling on him, but the dumpling was found in his stall when I checked... Telekinesis? Looks like the ability is minor at the moment.

Buy, I'm getting ahead of myself. I picked up the vases and threw away the broken ones -- the others are still useful for holding flowers inside my house and inside the barn, when all else fails! When I returned, Amaya was pointing out the various flowers and was going through what each did.

"Zekke, you see that white flower there? No, not that one -- the white flower? With the golden center? That's a daisy -- I know you can see them all over the place, but back in the old days, a daisy was used to cool fevers. It worked, but thanks to technology'n'whatnot today, pills often work faster. Daisies are also used often in fairy-magic, though not in mine..."

I don't know why I turned and left. Is it because I'm jealous of how close Zekke and Amaya are getting, since they just met each other? ... ... ...This is silly -- I better put this in a spot where Amaya can't find it. As sarcastic as she is, I need her help -- it's obvious that she knows more about plants then I do... If I scare her off, then... Well, we'll be back to where we started.

I think I'll see how well the lesson on plants is going -- perhaps, if it's done, I'll teach Zekke how to jump. Considering his speed, I'll bet anything that he'll be the fastest horse that any racetrack's ever seen. What does racing have to do with jumping? Easy -- it'll build up his leg muscles. Zekke is fast, but he might be like a cheetah, and might only be able to run in fast spurts. If we build up his staminia, he'll be able to outrun anyone!

...Though, finding someone small and light enough to ride him might be difficult... AND I have to get him used to a saddle and reins -- bit-less reins, thank you. I don't belive in using "standard" halter and bits as other horse-wranglers use (and whom I've often argued with)...

--I need to slow down and learn to take things one step at a time. x___x

Marushii's Journal - Small Note
Went to Changeling HQ. The place was empty, so I left a note requesting assistance and aid from anyone who knows anything about plants and gardening. True, Amaya's a big help... But something tells me we'll need another person giving us some assistance. As well as a place to find more flowers -- something tells me that Zekke would enjoy a bigger garden.

...maybe I should find some climbing ivy? Oh! And flowers! Yes.

Anyway! I've alerted the equines here that we may or may not have some visitors soon -- I left my address at the HQ, so hopefully someone'll swing by... The dragons have also been alerted to watch out for the visitors, just in case -- after all, ((it appears that this part has been scribbled out.))

-- ARGH! I need to cut down on all these pessimestic thoughts! Ahh... boy. Whoo! Now to get some sleep.

Post at the HQ -- Zekke-Hunting Start
Marushii reaches for a piece of paper and pen nearby, intending to reply to SillyAngelKitty's notice. The kitsune suddenly gasps in surprise as a feeling like a cold wind rushes over her, nearly knocking her to her knees. "ZEKKE!" She cried out, rushing to a window and throwing it open. "ZEEEEKKE!" Her eyes frantically scanned the area, disbelief wide in her eyes. This... This can't be some April Fool's joke! she thought frantically, lunging for a piece of paper. Quickly, she scribbles yet another note and attatches it to the bulliten board, quickly rushing out.

NOTICE!
On April 1st, Zekke mysteriously disappeared. If anyone has ANY kind of information regarding where he could be, PLEASE tell me! Reward offered!

-Marushii

Post at the RP -- Zekke-Hunting #1
Marushii breathed heavily, her mouth open as she greedily took in great gulps of air. She raised a hand and wiped sweat from her brow, leaning her weight heavily on the pasture's fencing. "Oh man... Zekke..." She said softly, looking of the sign of any kind of white horse. "Zekke! Come out, buddy... You have to be here somewhere..." She called out, stepping away from the pasture and walking around the fence, stopping to call for her changeling every few steps.

After she cleared the pasture, she leaned outside the barn, closing her eyes for a brief rest. That feeling... wasn't real. He didn't run -- kidnapped? Not by ordinary means... Magic? Possibly... She opened her eyes, whispering, "Oh, Zekke... Some Protecter I am, hey?"

Marushii looked around before disappearing into the stables, reappearing a moment later with slumped shoulders. "Ugh... I can't give up! Not just yet..." The kitsune started to walk away from the barn, deciding that it would be best to ask around and see if anyone has seen him... "Gotta start somewhere." She murmered to herself in reassurance, pausing to look around. "Hello? Anyone here?"

Post at the RP Area -- Zekke-Hunting #2
After questioning several people, Marushii was at loss. No one has seen anything... The last they remember of Zekke is when he went home with me. What... happened to him? Zeeeeekke!!!

The kitsune hit her forehead with her hand. Calm down! You won't be able to find him that way... Amaya might know something. Even if she doesn't... someone must know! Encouraged, the kitsune shifted to her four-legged form and ran off, headed in the direction of her home; her ranch.

The light paddering of hooves beating upon the hardened road gave warning to those idling in the pasture and frolicking abount beneith the trees. In a few moments, Marushii gallopped into view, her deer-like hooves kicking up small clouds of dust before she skidded to a halt before the barn, throwing off her fox-form in the process. "WAUGH! So much... running..." She panted, shaking her head. She turned towards the pasture and raised her hand in a wave. "HEY! Sherbert! Have you seen Zekke?"

Within the pasture, the orange-white Bicorn raised his head, chewing a few blades of grass. The bicorn's eyes widened slightly as he saw his owner was alone, giving her a bewildered head shake of "no."

"Thanks!" She called, waving again before pulling open the oddly-shaped barn doors.

"Mrrrrr. You're certaintly came in a hurry. I don't suppose Zekke's on his second lap around the world now?" Amaya purred from the inside of the door, giving a cat-like grin to Marushii.

"AMAYA!" Marushii yelped, quickly kneeling down to stare into the depths of the fairy-cat's deep eyes. "Amaya! Zekke's missing! I was at the HQ when I felt something like a cold wind, and I just knew it was Zekke but when I looked I didn't see him!"

Amaya blinked, quite taken aback. Marushii stood as the cat digested this information, quickly moving past her towards the back of the barn. "Wait! You mean you lost Zekke?!" The cat demanded, spreading her butterfly wings in an agitated way before bounding after Marushii.

"Weren't you listening?! Zekke -- oh by the Phoenix's Flame..."

Amaya jumped up and onto the Zekke's stall door, balancing along it until she was able to jump over to the shelf. Curious, she reached out with a blue paw to tap one of Zekke's dumplings, jerking her paw back as it fell forward. "What's so special about it?" The cat half-asked, half-demanded.

Marushii opened the stall door and replaced the dumpling in an up-right position before picking up Amaya. "That's Zekke's psychic dumpling-riceball thing... I believe it was teaching Zekke how to be psychi -- that's it! Zekke must have tried to use his powers! But he's inexperienced... Come on Amaya -- we must find him NOW!"

Amaya struggled and jumped out of Marushii's arms, turning to give her shoulder a lick before remarking, "And what's so special about that? He's smart -- he'll come back."

Marushii closed Zekke's stall door before turning, quickly walking out of the barn. "Come on Amaya -- my guess is that he tried to teleport, since he's not here or anywhere. He might be stuck... I'm not knowlegeable when it comes to this stuff, and I don't know anyone who is. I am going to try something, though. Come if ye will, but I won't stay here and wait!" Marushii turned looking down at Amaya. "A protector's duty is to protect those she loves. I may whine and loose my head over something, but that doesn't mean I can leave my duty be!"

Marushii turned on her heel and quickly walked out, leaving Amaya to just stare after her.

"Wait for me!" Amaya yelled, chasing after the Kitsune and darting 'twix her legs to beat her inside the house. "Right! So what do we get to do?"
PostPosted: Tue Jul 27, 2004 9:47 pm

After entering her home, Marushii immediatly walked into her "den" -- also known as "The Parlor." The Kitsune flopped down on a big blue bean bag, nearly sinking into its great mass. "You see, Amaya, here's the way I see it... There are two ways we can do this. The first is meditation and calling to Zekke with my soul. Thing is, I don't know how to meditate for starters, and I'm too impatient. The second way, as I see it, is to go to sleep and hope he turns up in the dream world."

The fairy-cat nodded, jumping up and into a chair. "I take it we're going with route two." She paused. "Well, you are at least. I, for one, will stay awake." The cat stopped, her eyes alighting upon the Purple Passions Marushii removed from the garden before. "Ah." Amaya leapt up and onto the table. "Ha." Carefully, the cat balanced up on her two back legs, spreading her wings to aid her balance. With the swipe of one of her paws, she knocked one of the passion flowers out of the vase, toward Marushii. "Passion flowers," Amaya started, slinking back to the chair she occupied earlier. "Are sleep-inducing plants. I suggest you eat the whole flower. It should give you at least an hour's worth of un-interrupted sleep." She purred, sitting down on the chair.

Marushii nodded, taking a deep breath before biting into the flower, eyes widening at its dryness. What if she's trying to poison you?! Her subconscious yelled.
Y'know what?
What?
Shut up. I'm going to eat this no matter what, oh Subconscious of mine.

Marushii quickly ate the flower top, tossing the stem to one side beofre sinking into the bag. She yawned, her eyelids dropping. "'maya?" She said sleepily. "Wake m'up when..."

"When Zekke returns." Amaya said. But it only fell on deaf ears -- Marushii was asleep, starting her search for Zekke.

Marushii took a step forward, sending forth silent ripples in the puddle she now stood in. Her eyes widened as she looked around, taking in the deep blues and purples. Am I... in a cave? She thought, her breath forming a mist upon the air. She took a few steps forward, her ears flickering at the soft lapping of water upon stone. Where ever I am... It sure is... quiet. She added as an after throught, gaining confidenece and striding forward.

A muffled "Merf!" comes from Marushii as she walks straight into a wall, taking a step back to rub her face. Her ears are flicked back as she reguarded the wall with a look of reproach, carefully placing her hand out towards the wall and upon it. She turned to the left, then turned around to face the right. I feel a breeze from this way... The exit must be in this direction! She thinks, walking forward with her left hand upon the wall to steady herself.

Her steps quicken, causing the soft "slap" of the water to disturb the eerie silence in the gloom. Marushii raised her head, shivering slightly as the air grew more moist. She turned another corner before blinking in surprise, jerking back as the scene around her changed into an errier, white mist. "What the -?!" She hissed, turning around.

The way back was gone.

Tell me what the rain knows,
O are these the Tears of Ages,
That wash away the Wolf's Way,
And leave not a trace of the day?

Marushii turned, her ears tilted forward. "Who's there?!" She demanded, her voice falling flat upon the air. She took a deep breath, doing her best to breathe quietly as she listened for the echoing voice. Wait... How did that voice echo? Mist should... Ah -- dream world. That explains it. She snapped out of her thoughts as the voice sang again, this time... closer.

Tell me what the rain knows,
O is this the flood of fortune,
That pours itself upon me?
O see how I drown in this sea...

The kitsune lept forward at the first sound of the voice, attempting to locate its source. A white-gray form flitted its way ahead of her before dashing in front of her, driving her to a complete stop before continuing.

Hark, hear the howl that eats the moon alive,
Your fur is on fire,
The smoke turns the whole sky raven black,
And the world upon your back will crack...

Marushii froze, her face a grimace as surpressed memories of her last family surfaced -- the fire, the smoke... She kneeled down, her hands around her head. "That's over!" She yelled, removing her hands to hit the non-existant ground. "I'm over it! There wasn't anything I could do!"

Where will you go
Now you've no home?

She swallowed hard, fighting down the tears forming in her eyes. She rememebered -- her village, how peaceful it was... She recalled, how dark the sky was that night when the village was raided; lit afire by raiders as they laid waste to her home. She re-lived the moment she ran with her sister to the river, escaping the nightmare of the night by boat. Forced to start a new life, she remembered how hard she and her sister worked, each earning their own way in life -- Maru with a ranch out in the country; her sister with her own apartment in Barton. They made it... They survived.

Let the rain wash away your last days...

As if on-cue, rain came patterind down from the heavens, dispelling the thick mist as the female voice faded away. Marushii looked up, gasping in astonishment at the creature before her, her eyes wide in wonder and amazement.

Marushii looked up at the raw strength and beauty of a unicorn. He wasn't like Raquell, she noticed right away. He was muscluar, broadly built with strength only in the creater's mind. His horn was a beam of pure moonlight, shimmering brightly within the rain's steady beat. Greetings, Protector of my Foal. A warm voice greeted inside her head, deep like brass, yet pure...

Like a cloudless, starry night. She finished, shakily moving to her feet as orbs of midnight blue watched her. "Hail... Sir." She said shakily, offering a sketchy bow to the unicorn. "I have come a'wandering for a foal known as Zekke... Can you tell me where I can find him?"

A soft laugh like a cool breeze came to her, causing her to smile unconsciously.
You have passed my mate's song... We deem you fit to watch over our foal.

Marushii blinked in surprise, before sagging her shoulders. "You... You made me revisit..." She swallowed hard around the lump in her throat, holding back the tears. "Revisit... my past." She finished, quickly rubbing away a tear as she recalled the countless horrors of that night.

The unicorn looked away, ashamed.
Yes. He said, shaking his head. I am sorry, Guardian... My mate and I... Did that to see if you were right for Zekke. He does not remember me, as I have wandered this Realm of Dreams since he was young... I have been watching over him since, guarding and guiding him in his slumber.

Marushii nodded, her anger slipping away. "And... your mate?" She asked, recalling the sad voice from earlier. "She... She's waiting for you, isn't she?" At the unicorn's nod, she pressed on. "But you're linked here... Because you're watching over Zekke."

A warmth entered Marushii, filling her with hope and happiness.
Yes... But, I feel there is one last task for me, as my foal's Guardian and Father. The unicorn turned, his head held high as he walked through the rain. Come -- I will lead you to him.
PostPosted: Tue Jul 27, 2004 9:54 pm

Geez... I must be the craziest owener in history... she thought, walking quickly to keep Zekke's Sire ahead of her and in sight. Now that I'm thinking about it... That song seemed familiar... Did I imagine the words myself? Did I... bring up my past myself? Marushii stumbled slightly, quickly throwing her foot forward to steady herself. Perhaps. I should stop worrying about this -- this is the dream world, after all... ANYTHING can happen here. Better stay sharp.

After what seemed like ages of walking through the rain, the unicorn stopped and turned his head.
Ahead, Guardian, lies the Realm where many have tread... Some with good intent, others... without. I cannot go there, for those who wander may enslave my soul for their foul magics.

Marushii took several steps forward, hesitant to leave the cooling freshness of the rain. "I understand." She said softly, taking a deep breath. "But... If I am to protect Zekke, how can I go about protecting myself? A kitsune would make a fine addition to many mage's arsenal, no matter if they have the said 'sune's life or not. And with Zekke..." She shook her head violently. "I can't think about that! Please, tell me what to do..."

The unicorn regarded her with silent wisdom.
Do you carry fear in your heart, little fox? He asked, continuing at her shamed nod of agreement. Turn that fear... into a weapon. I wish you well, Protector. The Unicorn turned to her and bowed to the shocked Kitsune, fading into the dying rain.

"Hey! WAIT! Your name! Tell me your name! VISION!!!" Marushii clapped a hand over her own mouth, eyes wide as the mist arrived. Vision... His name! How did I know?! She thought frantically, closing her eyes as a wave of dizzyness passed over her. Mist. Haha. Funny. She thought, connecting the dream-mist to the real Mist where Changelings came from.

The land where the Mist had taken her was much like the cave she was in before -- dark and gloomy, yet the air had no taste nor temperature. Marushii noted the moving shapes in the distance, immediatly spurring her into movement. With her tail held high, she walked forward, twisting her ears in different directions to listen. Right! Now, if I look like I belong here... I doubt I'll be bothered. "Zekke!" She called, surprising herself with the song-like voice that issued from her throat. Whoa! I guess I'm out of the Dream world... What's up with my voice? "Zekke! Zekke, my friend, can you hear me...?"

The world seemed to fade and blend into one color before becoming sharper, causing the moving shapes to twist this way and that, becoming more humanoid with each second. The moving shapes were various colors -- some where light, some where dark, others in colors more pure than a rainbow. Marushii paused, looking down at her own light blue image, choking back a laugh as she noticed a faint glow around her feet. Now I know what a firefly feels like... She thought dryly, looking around.

A cluster of people were off to one side, surrounding something. Curious, Marushii walked - no, floated - to where the group was, trying to see. Unfortunitly, size in this realm depended on power... Which Marushii currently lacked.

"Grah! Tall people..." She murmered, floating around them to find a way to squeeze by. Wait. This isn't the real world. Eat this, Gravity! She thought triumphantly, springing up to float above the heads of people.

Or try to, anyway.
"Hey! Don't you know the rules of this place?! Float and you'll be sucked into Nothing, ya stupid apprentince!" A black shape hissed, sending Marushii crashing back into the ground.

"Stupid..." She cursed under her breath, glaring fiery daggers at his back. Great. That didn't work too well... Now what?

Marushii growled, clenching her fists. I bet he's here... I KNOW he's here! She thought, floating around the group again. But... How can I get through? If I form a weapon, they'll probably disarm me faster then I can blink... She sighed, closing her eyes tight. How can I be a protector if I can't even get close to him?!

"Chriii-pree?"

Marushii blinked in surprise, taking in a breath. She turned her head, peering at the Taigi on her shoulder. She gaped at it, realizing with a jolt that this creature... "Did... Lindar send you?" She asked, recalling the beautiful Muse she met before.

The Taigi let off a small bark. "Actually, Jessi, Lindar's bondmate, sent me! You know how hard it is to track things down here in this Realm?"

Marushii blinked, eyeing the Taigi. "Wait... Are you... psychic?"

The creature shook its head from its perch on Marushii's shoulder, giving her an affectionate nudge. "Sort of. We Taigi can communicate telepathically with our Keepers, but that's it. We can't do this with anyone else. Anyway... You seem flustrated. I take it it's because you can't get through these idiots? No worries! Y'see, Jessi'n'Lindar probably sent me to you to help you out here! 'cause Kitsune shouldn't be here, methinks. Oh! Yeah! I don't have an actuall name yet since names are earned when we grow up, but I've been called "pest" and "annoyance" and "Breeze", so call me whatcha want!"

The kitsune blinked in surprise before chuckling. "That's probably why I don't feel flustrated or angry or sad anymore... You're like a calm breeze!" She smiled, raising a hand to scratch the "Anyway, do you have any idea on how we can get through?"

The Taigi grinned, jumping off her shoulders. "This way!" The grey-brown creature sang before darting 'neath the feet of the people. Marushii followed suit, elbowing people out of her way as she did so.

"ZEKKE!" She yelled out as she came to the center, rushing forward to throw her hands around the Changeling's neck. "ZekkezekkezekkezekkeZEKKE!" She said again and again, huging him tightly. Zekke nickkered, nuzzling Marushii before raising his gaze at the gathered psyhics around him, ears back.

"Zekke?" Marushii asked, concern ringing in her voice as she loosened her voice, raising a hand to stroke his mane. "Zekke-kun? Come on... Let's go home." "I second that!" Breeze chirrped, leaping onto Zekke's back. Zekke turned his head, sniffing the taigi before snorting. Breeze, on the other hand, reached out with a brown-dabbed paw and stroked Zekke's nose, immidiatly setting him on good terms with the Changeling.

One of the psychics stepped forward, regaining Zekke's attention again. He bared his teeth, driving the person back into the "circle" around them. "...How do we go back home, now?" Marushii whispered, looking from Zekke to Breeze. Breeze shrugged. "Click your heels three times while saying, 'I wish I was home?'" "Haha. Veeery funny."

Marushii gasped in surprise as a feeling of dizziness swept over her. Not again... She thought, closing her eyes tightly and praying that the spinning sensation would end -- soon.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 29, 2004 3:13 am

When Marushii opened her eyes, she was unable to. She gasped, lifting one of her arms to rub her eyes. She couldn't move her right, but she was able to move it after a squeak of protest. Now awake, the Kitsune blinked surprised at how dark it was outside. Slowly she stood up, a smile slipping over her face as she spotted Zekke half-on and half-off one of the massive beanbag chairs she had in her room. Breeze, the Taigi, was asleep on the one she was sitting in -- the reason her left arm felt so numb as well.

Marushii slipped off her shoes and padded to her kitchen, grabbing a bowl. She moved it to the table before returning to the cabnit the bowl emerged from, taking down a pitcher.

"Allow me." Amaya purred, jumping onto the table. She raised one of her paws, holding it over the empty steel bowl. Large drops of water soon collected around her paw before a twinkle of water came, softly falling into the bowl.

Marushii gave a thankful nod to Amaya before moving off, changing into her Pajamas and returning with a hand towel. When she returned, the bowl was filled nearly to the top with crystal-clear water. "Thank ye." Marushii said, surprised at how her voice cracked. She dipped her hands into the water and cupped then, taking a sip to cure her dry throat. She cupped her hands again, this time flicking the water up and onto her face. She washed away the dried tears, pausing. "Amaya? What happened?"

The cat regarded her silently before starting, "First, the passion flower sent you into a deep sleep... You were murmering things, pausing now and then as if you were talking to someone..." The cat lowered her gaze in thought. "Then... You started yelling about something being over, then you started to cry... But the un-formed tears stopped as soon as that tasty-looking rodent touched you. The rodent... Walked through the wall to come in." Amaya looked at her owner, shaking her head at the look of disbelief on her face. "What? Anyway, it started to get really moist in here... Then that rodent disappeared as you started to struggle against something. Now that it's back, I suppose it helped you with something?"

Marushii nodded, quickly filling in Zekke's "teacher" on what happened as she continued to wash her face. Once that was over, she lifted the towel to her face and padded it dry. "Anyway," She said, her voice muffled by the towel. "I'm rather glad Breeze came when he did..." She removed the towel and threw it over her shoulder. "Since he appeared in that 'realm' easily enough, methinks Zekke has a teleportation buddy..." She picked up the bowel and emptied it into the sink, shrugging. "Despite how dangerous that was..." She began, smiling. "I don't want him to give up on what he's trying to do. I want him to become big and strong, just like his parents. Tomorrow..." She sighed, looking off and into the distance. "Tomorrow I'll go and help get him stronger. The stronger he his, then I believe the more he'll be able to accomplish." She sighed, running a hand through her hair. "He's young... Mistakes happen. Even though I don't know much about his gift myself, I'm going to do my best and try to help him all along."

Amaya purred, slitting her eyes in happiness. "A worthy answer, Fox." She said before jumping down from the table, padding out before her to the den/living room. "A worthy answer that I would expect from a Protector as yourself." The cat added, curling up next to Zekke.

A faint blush came to Marushii as she accepted the compliment. She opened her mouth to reply but stopped, closing it and giving the cat a flat look as she took the spot she was planning on taking. With a shrug, she sat down in her former seat, grinning as Breeze slid into her lap. Idly, Marushii stared off into space, thinking about what happened. Eventually, exhaustion took over, sending her into blissful, complete sleep.

April 4th, 2004

After a day of rest, I brought Zekke to the Changeline HQ to show off his new marking... As well as himself, since he's back. ^^

Unfortunitly for us, there wasn't many people there... No changelings, though -- Zekke has yet to meet another of his kind! Poor guy... At least he has Raquell and Caelestis' foals to horse around with. n_n

While at the HQ, I found out about the easter egg "hunt" we're to do... Zekke looked excieted at the idea -- so much that he started bouncing around, like a rabbit. o_o;;

He got tired fast, though... Considering the effort it takes to bounce around like that, I would get tired as well. blaugh

Tomorrow we'll go out and look for paint and an egg... Better start on this early, ne? While we're out, we'll also look for a fish... Soon after Zekke woke up from his adventure in the "other" realm, he checked in on the Koi in the pond. This fish, however, will be in a bowl in Zekke's stall -- I'm afraid one night he'll exit his stall to check on the fish, and accidently wind up somewhere else entirely... ^^;;;

Well! Here's hoping for the best tomorrow!

April 6th, 2004
Today Zekke and I went to the Market... As soon as we entered Barton's huge Bazaar, Zekke pulled my scarf off and started running away with it. Throwing my caution away, I followed him -- it was SOOO much fun! Nevermind that we caused a small bit of chaos in our path... It's not like sugar-high'd kids haven't done it before. ^^

I managed to catch up with Zekke when he suddenly stopped at a store... By his eager and pleading look, I went in... And bought one of the gems they were selling. At the shaking and nodding of Zekke's head, I purchased the white gem -- it was white or black, and I, frankly, prefer the sterotypical white "good" over the black "evil." ^^

I don't know why, but I felt the soft chime of "Oceider! Oceider!" again and again in my mind when I picked it up... Is Zekke starting to become telepathic?! Ceres must know about this...

...but first, I have to recieve the gem. The owner appeared to be out when I placed my order, so hopefully the gem will arrive soon. Perhaps it will be a focus for his powers? Then again, the place was in the pet section... Who knows what the gem will turn into?

Anyway, after the ordering of the gem, Zekke and I wandered around the market without incident...

...That is, if you term playing tag in the middle of Market-time as not being an incident, as I believe Zekke and I might have caused those two cart-upturns... *cough!*

We managed to collect a basket for the Egg Hunt at the HQ later this month, as well as several eggs, paint brushes, and paint. I'm not that good with paints (as my strengths are more in pencil and paper drawing), but we'll see what's comes out... ne? whee Besides, it's good to have more then one egg as a back up, just in case. xd

April 6th, 2004
Wow! Talk about fast delivery!!! The gem Zekke wanted so badly has arrived... If I remember correctly...

Anyway! Here's what it looks like! heart

User Image

Zekke refuses to let Oceider out of his sight...

Then again, I believe my subconscious is mocking me for naming an inanimate object. o_o;;; But! Since Zekke's so focused on this... I'll put my faith in him and see what happens. The time for doubting and mistrust has ended.

Also... I forgot to mention that we also bought something... extra. Zekke and I are about to show it off at the HQ, too! 0:3
