Tal's Family, Friends and Companions!

Well, heres where im going to talk about Tal's family and friends and more as they develop...

Myself

I'm a 24 year old half-elf from gaia, ive been living here since november, on a farm i purchased on the outskirts of town. There is plenty of room, and there needs to be, as i have quite the collection of pets, as you will soon see.

The pets that Tal will be interacting with most are Rhach, Legolas, and Mystra.

Rhach

Rhach was the newest member of the household, until i bought Tal. He is a damned Shay, the first and only one of his kind of Shay. Because he is the only one of his kind found to date, he is a bit insecure and lonely. Also a bit stand-offish. He has been keeping mostly to himself, but the instant i arrived home with Tal he came over to say hello. Shay's are telepathic, and so he was no doubt communicating with Tal. He hasnt communicated with me yet even, so i have a feeling that these two will be fast friends!

Legolas

Legolas is also a Shay, my first Shay. He is a gentleman, very polite, always wants to help everyone he comes across. He is loyal to a fault (to his friends), honest, naive and innocent in some ways, extremely wise and knowlegeable in others. he is quiet and reserved most of the time, but is friendly, and enjoys observing the interactions of humans and pets he has yet to meet.

Mystra

Mystra is my faekat, and she is a heavenly girl! She's a pure, which means that she tries to protect all her friends and loved ones from the forces of evil. So far, she and Rhach havent been too friendly with each other, but they havent been fighting either which to me means that hes not evil (*phew*). She gets along wonderfully with everyone else on the farm, and is really honourable, friendly, loving, sweet and gentle.

Living in the pastures we have a whole herd of ninaus and a herd of errais, along with a bunch of other fun creatures! Tal will be exposed to each of them at some point, probably more than once within the next few weeks, and hopefully this will help him to stop being so timid!

The Farm

The stables
This would have been too hard for me to show with my non-existant artistic skills, so i will just describe the stables. As you enter the stables, you are struck by how airy and bright they are. The ceiling is two stories tall, to accommodate any tall pets i might wind up with one day (although for the most part, my pet buying days may be over). The stables are very wide as well, about three quarters as wide as they are tall, with wide stalls on both the left and the right, and a wide space between them. Above the stalls and the walkway, staggered but frequent, are skylights, which can be opened to let in a breeze on warm days, and closed quickly to keep out rain or snow. The floors are stone, and cool even on the hottest days. Beneath the floor runs a heating system, to keep little hooves warm in the winter, installed by the previous owners when they built the facilities. The stables are equipped with the latest in heating and air conditioning technologies, to ensure that everyone inside is as comfortable as possible at all times smile

Tal's Stall

As stated in the second entry of the diary, i took down the partitions separating three unused stalls to make Tal a super big one. I thought he would do better with more space, and it would seem i was right, as he really seems happier in wide spaces. The floor is stone, covered in straw.

Legend:
Blue box: A window running the length of most of the stall.
Yellow oval: an area of built up straw, and comfy blankets for Tal to sleep on.
Brown box: The feed box, for hay/grain.
Black box: The stall door. The other doors have been turned into a solid wall with an opening so Tal can look out but not quite get out.

The Grounds
The areas around the stables and pastures are filled with trees that seem to be very old, but not too close together. They are very tall, wide enough for three people to ride abrest under, with branches well above the height of a riders head. The paths are dusty, but in the rain do not become muddy as the earth is hard packed by years of traffic. The fenced pastures are quite large, used mostly for pregnant mares, so they can get exercise without escaping or being taxed. The total land on the farm is over 40 acres, plenty of room for riding, pleasure trailing through the vast woods in the west, and an area large enough to build an eventing or other track area later on, if need be, or if i think it will be good for Tal.

our first joint pet! Tal has given the eggie quite the snuffling over, and seems very pleased with it. I have told him it is for him as well as for me, and Legolas has indicated that Tal wants the eggie to live in his stall at night, so, there is now an eggie mini-bucket hanging near his water bucket, so that he can watch the eggie all night wink

Today was a rather surprising one. I was wandering around in the breedables section and decided to stop in to visit the Changlings HQ. I have seen some of these beauties around and was interested in not only learning more about them, but in having one of my own as well. While i was there, silly came in with her yuki and hoshi, and hoshi sent me a dream of myself running with a changling. I remember feeling as though at that moment, everything was perfect, running as fast as i could with a foal running and prancing and dancing around me, showing off how much faster than me they were, how they could run fast enough to keep up with the wind...i was so happy, bursting with joy, somehow i knew that this foal was my best friend, that it really understood everything about me, who i am and who i have the potential to become. and i felt so important, for the first time in my life, i had an animal who was just as important to me as i was to it in my life, and i could sense that the webs of our lives were weaving together, bringing us closer together every moment and having us become more and more interdependent. and in an instant, the dream ended. there i was, back in the HQ, without a changling to call my own. and i felt so empty, so very empty. as though everything within my soul drained in the instant i realized it was simply a dream. i stayed around to talk for the rest of the day, despite my inner lonliness, to get to know the changling owners. all in all, it was a very plesant day. but when i reached home i realized, my bustling farm has never seemed so very stark and empty as it did tonight.

Today began as many others, rather unremarkably. I fed all the animals, and began to wander around Gaia. When i reached the breedables area, i went at once in to the Changling HQ, as yesterday i had entered a raffle they were running, and was interested to see if the winners had been drawn yet. Imagine my surprise when the results were drawn only shortly after i got there, and i won! i could scarcely believe my ears when i heard the results of the draw for the stunning male changling. when i recovered from the shock enough to be able to think straight, i was introduced to my changling. The first moment i saw him, i just knew what his name had to be, he would be my swift foot, my Tallagor. I held my hand out to him, and although he was very timid, he did nudge it and snuffle into it after i told him what was to be his name. Not long after that, i brought him home with me. We spent the evening getting to know each other in the paddock closest to the barn and the house (image to come soon). I discovered that although he is timid, once he feels comfortable with someone (be it me or one of my other pets), he is very VERY playful. And did i ever name him appropriately! He is faster than all my other pets, maybe even faster than all of them combined. And he is a tease! He loves to let you think youve got him in your reach for a pat or a scratch, and then dart away, quick as can be! He's all curled up in his area of the stable now (i took down a couple of wooden walls between unused stalls to create him an extra large one, image soon to come), sleeping soundly. You know, after the dream i had yesterday, i was really second guessing whether owning a changling could really feel as amazing as it did. And, i have found that while the feelings are muted, nowhere near as strong, they are all there. I am sure that in time, they will grow to be as strong as i felt them in my waking dream. And i cannot wait!

April 9, 2004

I dont have much time to write today as i am exhausted. This morning, Tal, Legolas and I went to the minishops in town, and i found the food in Tal's possession area, as treats for him (not all at once though!). I also took the time to draw out the Farm and Tal's Stall in the stable. Also, we had fun making Tal's easter egg, and later, we took it over to drop off at the HQ. We spent most of the rest of the day in or around the HQ. We met more protectors and changlings, and Tal even learned to play Kickball!

All in all, a very busy, productive day!

An entry from Tal
Today was so much fun!!!! New mom took me to that place where i met her again, i heard her call it the HQ. And today, there was this girl there, a girl like me, and she was SO PRETTY!!! I couldnt believe my eyes!!! I mean, shes the only girl my age that i have met so far, but i doubt they are all so pretty! And shes so much FUN!!! I asked her to race, and so we ran out, and she couldnt keep up with me (even though i wasnt running my absolute fastest, i didnt want to loose sight of her), so i slowed down so we could run together, i didnt want her to feel bad because i was faster. And legolas says you should always try to be a gentleman. I dont know what that means, but i think that slowing down to run with yuki counts. At least, when i told legolas about it later, he told me that was a chivalrous thing to do, whatever that means! But, im glad i did something that legolas liked finally! Hes really like a big brother to me, i dunno why he wants to spend so much time with me teaching me things that new mom wants me to learn, he must be bored. i know i am! hehe but its ok. because when i am good i get to do things all by myself! like after we got home, i got legolas to ask if i could give one of my blue lollipops to yuki, because they remind me of her blue mane and tail. and new mom said i could!! so legolas helped me tell mom what to write on the note for yuki, and then they let me walk all the way over there and put the note in the mailbox by myself!!!!! i was so proud!!! on the way home i got scared by some noises in the woods near the house, and ran away a bit, but, then i realized that it was only Rhach hiding in the woods to scare me! Hes so much fun! then we played all the way home together. I had so much fun today!!! I hope i get to play with yuki again soon biggrin biggrin biggrin

Everyone is so nice here, i really like it. And new mom is so nice, she spends sooooooooo much time with me! Shes always petting me and talking to me about things, or singing and brushing me. And she never goes anywhere without me! And if they wont let me in a store, she wont go in! She must like spending time with me! But, sometimes i wish i could be alone to run and play. But i would never leave new mom, i think that would make her sad. And i dont want to make her sad because i really like her and i want her to be happy! Shes a great new mom, even if she tells people she is still learning.

oh and ps, legolas helped me write this, he told it to James the stable manager and James wrote it down for me in my very own diary! and he said he would help anytime i wanted to write down something!!! oooh, and i forgot, new mom is sick sad she came home and was really white, and legolas told me she was not feeling good at all, and she might not be able to visit me tonight sad but he said he would take good care of her and i know he will! but, because mom is sick, James is letting Rhach stay over in my stall, so we can talk and play all night! Ok, i think thats all...yes. thats all. Thanks James!!

April 11, 2004

Ok, well, I am feeling better today than i was yesterday, although i must say that i do still have a migraine, but, no matter. My family came over for Easter supper today, and i introduced everyone to Tal after we ate. After supper i checked the mail, and found three wonderful easter gifts from the other changlings and their owners! Tal put the plushies in his stable at once, Legolas says he wants them in amongst his straw and blankets for at night, if he wakes up and is lonely because i am sleeping (awwwww). After everyone went home, we talked to Ceres for a bit, before Tal snuck off to deliver the Easter presents we had bought for everyone. I had planned to go with him but, Legolas followed him to make sure he didnt get lost along the way (but, from far enough away that Tal still felt independent). By the time he got back, it was quite late, and i went out to the stable and tucked him in, and he curled up with his plushies, and gave his eggs a last look before drifting off to sleep before i was out of the stall. And, that is what i plan to do right now!

Just a quick update
my computer is being a really big pain right now so im having trouble making diary entries, but, rest assured, tal and i have been having a great time getting to know one another, exploring gaia and generally just having fun smile once everything is working better, i will post a better update, until then, tal and i will be off playing games in barton biggrin

Seras wanders in slowly carring something very soft and brown. She looks around for somone to give it to when she spots Bronzed.
"Ahh I hope I'm not intruding. I have a special delivery to a Bronzed
for Tallagor. Would that be you?" her words are quiet as she hopes not to bother anyone or interupt anyone.
"Its a gift from Kawaii_Hime_Ceres! A soft and fluffy horse plushie from the plushie barnyard. I hope your little one enjoys it!"



Seras hands you the lovable plushie and walks back to Gamble and remounts him to ride on to the next delivery!

Not catching eyes of the humans, but smart enough to stay away as his father taught him... he neighed proudly, and slipped the note into the mail box. The cat jumped onto the mail box, curnled up, and naps awaing for when the note was picked up. The cat was holding a bag in its mouth. With the delivery done, Rouge neighs again, and trots back down the dusty road.::
