This room is the medium round room on the map.

The domed ceiling is now a proper planetarium. You can see the night sky clearly projected over head. It appears to be showing you the sky that would be above you today on Urania.

But this is just the default setting.

From the spheres you have now activated in the other rooms, you can have it show you the sky as it looks from the center of the solar system, the Sun (activate from the sun room), Earth’s Moon (activate from the moon room), Urania (activate from the star room) or from any location you choose (activate from the comet room).

You can also use a sphere in the center of this room to rotate the map or choose to display the sky from a date that isn’t today.

Quote:
This is an optional room that will be open for the remainder of the event.

Belmont, Squire of Jupiter

Once the fog had dispersed and a door opened, Belmont didn't waste much time slipping into the new space. For as eager as he was to know what this place was, he intended to be careful about where he went. If Perdita and Connie had wanted to stay in the last room he would have, but he was glad to have a bit more open space.

And to make sure there was no Chaos hiding in wait for them.

Stepping into the planetarium, he immediately looked up at the sky. For a long moment, he skimmed the stars to see if he could make out any constellations that looked familiar, or any signs that there was something to worry about in this room, but he was met with only a comfortable stillness.

He wasn't willing to lower his guard but he felt like he knew so little about what they were actually up against. Urania wasn't here, not that he could see. He didn't want to snoop but he did want to know what they were up against--and how to defend against it.

"Huh," he mused as he scanned the ceiling. "I guess I can see why she wouldn't want any harm to come to this place. Something like this looks like it must have taken a long time to make."

Everything looked so precise. He'd never seen technology quite like this so he couldn't help but be interested.

He had manners, though; just because there was no one around to tell him not to touch things didn't mean he was going to. He didn't know what any of these pieces did, and with their age--if he broke something? He liked a little danger, but not like that.

For now, he was glad nothing had immediately jumped out at them, but there was too much about this place that he didn't know. He wasn't so sure they were in the clear yet; the whole area still felt vaguely uncomfortable, even if he couldn't pinpoint the source.

Dering, Squire of Lysithea

They solved the riddle without any difficulty. Dering had still been expecting something to go wrong. Even after the fog filtered out of the room, he gripped his lute so tightly that the tips of his fingers started to go numb. It took great effort to actually relax and breathe but he didn't start to move until the others did, too.

Amarynthos waited for a good moment to let the fog clear out, but if their options were backwards or forward, of course he was going to carry on. They were here for a reason, after all--and though he didn't say it, he did want to meet up with Sessrumnir and Alastor. At least just to make sure everyone was okay.

Dering was only a Squire; he didn't mind Amarynthos stepping into the next room first. Especially with Ephesus up front with him, even if he wasn't as much of a fighter. Rose was the only Page in their group so he hoped that meant it would be easy to look after her. He knew Reims and Yvoire, they could defend themselves.

He didn't want to bring up the rear, just in case there was danger, but he had the biggest weapon out of all of them so he sucked it up and stayed closer to the back. If anyone tried to jump them from behind, he'd just do his best to knock them over.

It wasn't like there was any great separation from the front to the back. Reims and Yvoire were in arm reach but he was trying not to breathe down anyone's neck.

When the room opened up, he was quick to look around. There were others here already, from other rooms? Instinctively he looked to make sure they were all in one piece. No one seemed hurt or in danger, so it was a good sign. For now. Afraid the door would close behind him, he made sure he was fully in with the rest of the group, and didn't lower his guard until he was sure nothing was following them.

It was impossible not to be impressed by the planetarium. It was artful, well crafted, and beautiful. He'd been to the planetarium in Destiny City only once and it instilled a sense of awe in him, and it was the same here on Urania. Even without the threat of Chaos somewhere around them, he would have been stunned by the sight. It felt timeless, eternal. He felt small, but like a part of a greater whole.

If things had been better, he'd have liked to explore--liked to look at the sky, or see what else it could do, but for now he swallowed the sudden, strange lump in his throat, and blinked quickly to make sure he could take it all in. The map hadn't really done this room justice. On paper it looked like any other room--albeit artfully drawn--but he couldn't seem to absorb anything here fast enough.

Thank goodness the room wasn't so large to lose the group; he could have easily gotten lost in the stars.

Amarynthos, Knight of the Moon

"Wow," Amarynthos said; he'd craned his neck to look up as well. "I wonder if this is like the Theater on the Moon?" It didn't have a console like they did, but even if it had he wasn't sure if he'd tried to figure out how to work it. Maybe Urania would let them come back and visit after the Chaos was gone? He felt like he had a thousand questions for her already.

"Effie, your dads," he said suddenly, softly. He squeezed Ephesus' arm and waved to Alastor and Sessrumnir as they entered from across the room.

Transcended Eternal Encke

When there was a lull in the fighting and the action, Encke couldn't quite stop his curiosity, sending his eyes drifting to the other room that had been opened up by what they were doing.

... Well, s**t. That was just cool.

Encke had become someone who was quite fascinated by the way the stars looked above him, and seeing how they looked from other homeworlds was no exception. It was easy to look up and believe that they were outside instead of the tower that Urania had led them to, to help dispel the source of chaos inside. He could tell this wasn't Earth, but it was near Earth, and he could, if he looked carefully enough, recognize some things that may have been things that would echo back to their sky. Mars, for example, was a bit bigger here, but it was still red, and red stood out to him immediately.

He found himself standing there for a few moments, ignoring anything else, and simply tracking what he saw above him. Some of it he did recognize. A lot of it he didn't, and that was okay. This was the sky of a different homeworld. What Urania was able to see was not the same as he was able to see from Earth.

He went a bit closer to the center of the room, noticing that there seemed to be other controls there he could reach. What could the sphere do?

Encke played with it a little bit, noticing that when he shifted it in certain directions, his view of what was above him changed. That was fascinating on its own, and he experimented with flipping the image over to see if that would show him what was currently under the homeworld according to their perspective. Badass. But what did this other control do?

... It changed the time.

The sky looked different. The sky looked different by years when he played with it enough. How far back could it go?

With a bit of experimentation, he realized he could send it back well over a millennia. It gave him the idea, if it were possible, if somehow this magical planetarium could give him the capacity to look at different places, too.

It took a bit of scraping the area and tracing back his steps to come upon something that unlocked just that. One of the rooms he had come from, where he had resolved a riddle about comets before--him, really--held something he was able to use to come back to the planetarium and see something completely different.

Encke's Comet, he had issued the direction of. That ... that definitely looked different. He knew that his comet was coming back to its aphelion from its perihelion currently, so he looked if he could see signs of the tail around the image the planetarium was pulling up. How was it doing this? Some sort of magical thing, he was certain. What was Urania's magic? Was it in any way related to this?

...Now what could he do about the years? Would this trace that back, too, or would that only work for Urania itself?

Encke found himself stunned when he realized that as he ticked the years back, and watched the view above him vary wildly, what he was watching was the movement of time back above the sky of Encke's Comet. Earth wouldn't wobble that much. Urania likely didn't even wobble that much. That was it.

... As he selected a time much further back, back to when Trascended Eternal Encke lived in a different place with different people with a different reality around him, he found himself stuck in the center of the room, staring up in awe.

That was what he saw in his memories. That was it.

... That was it.

(It would take him a few moments before he realized that, perhaps, he should take a picture of it with his senshi phone. Basiluzzo would be interested, for sure. He would need the twist of sadness in his heart to pass before he hit that point, but he would get there.)

Connie, Squire of Chronos

“Oh thank goodness. I really didn’t like that creepy fog. There’s probably going to be more, isn’t there?” No bugs though. Not yet at least.

Connie was busy for a few long moments trying to make sure nothing was crawling up her outfit, before looking up to see what Belmont was talking about.

Oh! It was beautiful! The stars and everything above was like an intricate painting!

“Wow, yeah, I bet it did take a long time,” she stared in awe. She also kept her hands to herself, not wanting to mess with anything without permission. She also had a bad habit of breaking things she didn’t mean to if she wasn’t super careful. And she definitely didn’t want to be that person! Maybe if Urania was there to tell them it was okay, or maybe if they knew what it did, that would be different!

“Are you both okay? No bugs?” Wow, they must think she was really obsessed with bugs, but she just really didn’t want them crawling on her. It was gross! And she didn’t know if they would bite! But thankfully Belmont and Perdita were both nice and didn’t give her a hard time.

Reims, Squire of Ganymede

Reims was trying not to take out his irritation on anyone around him. He was agitated, on edge, wanting to hit something with his sword. He sneered at the other people meandering through the room, enchanted only by the stars. What use were stars when they were still trying to get rid of Chaos. Chaos that didn’t even seem like a big deal.

He and the others with him had fought the Negaverse already. Those guys were nothing worth writing home about. And now this? A bunch of fog was nothing. They should have brought a big fan with them.

“You guys okay?” he asked, turning finally to the others. Yvoire was being quiet. Rose seemed okay. Cynthus was Cynthus. At least Dering was staying close and keeping out of trouble. Amarynthos and Ephesus seemed distracted by adults.

The place could have been cool if they had some time to research. Maybe there was something that could help them during this present time. Someone else was already messing with the controls, so he didn’t approach.

Ephesus, Knight of the Moon

Ephesus stayed close to Amarynthos as they left the room with the riddle and into a big open one with stars above. He was too distracted to try and determine how similar it was to the Theater on the Moon because both Alastor and Sessrumnir were there as well.

He showed Amarynthos a smile before jogging over to his dads, throwing his arms around them both at the same time.

“Are you okay? We’re okay. We had a riddle to solve but we did it right, I think,” he grinned up at them, clearly glad for a chance to see them.

Sessrumnir, Knight of Jupiter

Sessrumnir wrapped an arm around Ephesus when he approached to hug them, but looked over his son’s head to nod to Amarynthos in clear silent thanks. He was worried about a lot of things when it came to their safety, but it was good to see that they were all looking out for each other.

“We’re okay. We had a riddle as well. You’re not running into any trouble?” he couldn’t help but ask, although the question was both for Ephesus and Amarynthos. He took a moment to look over at the other teenagers. His cousin seemed like she was holding her own, and the others, although quieter than Cynthus, seemed like they were in relatively good spirits.

Super Sailor Perdita, Senshi of Plenty

A sense of relief came over Perdita when the door unsealed and they were able to leave the room they’d only just been in. She hadn’t been too worried (yet), but it was certainly much less anxiety inducing to be able to come and go. She assumed it had something to do with the fog. Once it had receded from the room, they could leave. So that was one danger to it, she made sure to make note: it could confine them and leave no escape.

Following Belmont and Connie into another room, this one more sizable than the last, Perdita glanced up at the domed ceiling, with both awe and interest.

“I’m surprised it's still in such good condition,” she observed. “Everything on my world is dead and rotting.”

Perdita felt sad for it—that a once living world should decay so much, though she knew there was a possibility that it could be restored. Ganymede had done it; Perdita hadn’t seen it for herself, but Oberon had told her. Moons were healing, Wonders were flourishing, and more of space seemed to be opening itself up to them. That this place still remained on Urania gave Perdita hope. They could save this world, and Urania could rebuild. With help, if she needed it.

It wasn’t an immediate benefit to the war on Earth, but it could be in the long term. If Chaos spread further, if they had to retreat…

Perdita did her best not to think about that.

So she showed Connie another small smile and laughed lightly.

“I’m good. No bugs,” Perdita reassured her. “Not that I’ve seen, at least. With the state this world is in, I can’t imagine anything can live here. Even bugs.”

Which made the Observatory an even more marvelous sight. Perdita wanted to explore. She wanted to soak in all the information she could, make note of everything, take pictures, and bring it all back to Oberon so they could discuss it together. She wanted to study the image of the night sky above them in more detail, wanted to learn from it, let herself be inspired by it, use it as fuel for the hope that burned inside of her. Life could exist here again. Knowledge could be shared. Chaos could be defeated.

They had a chance. They were at least one step closer.

Perdita tipped her head back to gaze up again.

“It really is beautiful,” she said.

She thought of her own world again and wondered if anything like this might still exist among the decay. Perdita didn’t visit as often as she would like (as often as she knew she should), but she was fond of it, protective of it, and she looked forward to the day it was no longer piles of rubble and an empty wasteland.

Once they were done here, maybe she would go to Perdita and give it some of the love and care it deserved. She’d let the memories come if they existed, and hopefully bring life back to it.

In time. That was all the needed.

Cynthus, Squire of the Moon

Cynthus gave the doorway a little kick as they left the riddle room and moved into a larger one, daring Chaos to try and trap them again. If easy riddles like that were the best this place could do, they wouldn’t have any problems dealing with whatever else it tried to throw at them.

She followed after Amarynthos and Ephesus, at least until it seemed like they were going to go over to Sessrumnir and Alastor. Cynthus made a face and pretended to gag. Adults. She hoped they wouldn’t hover now. She and the others were getting by just fine on their own.

“There’s a Theater on the moon?” she asked, even though Amarynthos was further away now. She turned the question to Reims, who’d been on the moon with her when the Code gave her superpowers. Had the Code mentioned something about a Theater? Had they seen it? Cynthus couldn’t remember. Mostly she’d been freaking out about the monster and, you know, being on the moon. She hadn’t looked around as much as she should have, except at her Wonder. Most of the other parts of the moon were still new to her.

“We’re all good. Stop worrying,” Cynthus continued, rolling her eyes at Reims.

He was on edge, she could tell. Cynthus wasn’t totally relaxed either, but so far there didn’t seem to be much to worry about. They’d finished one task and now they could move on to the next. Mostly it felt tedious. She’d thought they were going to have to fight. She’d been ready for it, and now had to keep that feeling or risk being caught off guard.

With a sigh, Cynthus glanced up. Everyone seemed enamored with the ceiling. She’d been to planetariums before and this one didn’t seem all that different to her. Just old. Maybe the tech was different. Maybe the view was different too. Cynthus didn’t care. This wasn’t what they’d come here for. They could worry about it later.

“I hope Mary and Effie don’t bring those two over here,” she mumbled to the others. “That’s just what we need, a couple of Olds breathing down our necks. They should’ve stayed home. This place isn’t so bad. I bet we could handle this ourselves.”

Just because Urania couldn’t do it by herself didn’t mean a small group wouldn’t have success. They weren’t even all that prepared for this. Or at least Cynthus wasn’t. She’d shown up because she’d heard what was going on, but hadn’t been here before and hadn’t known what to expect. So far she wasn’t worried, just ready to get on with it. The sooner they kept going, the sooner they could kick Chaos’ butt. If they could do it here, they could definitely do it on Earth, right? There were tons of them on Earth. How hard could any of it really be?

“Any of you guys want to get pizza when we’re done here?” she asked.

Hopefully it wouldn’t be too much longer. She didn’t want to get hangry.

Yvoire, Squire of Ganymede

Yvoire stuck closer to Dering than to Reims, trying not to look between Reims and Rose. (Their outfits didn’t even match. Who was she anyway? Why hadn’t Reims ever mentioned her before?) He followed them out of the room, clutching his parasol close in case anything jumped out at them, but they were left alone. The fog seemed to have gone. They could move from one room to another. Was that it? It couldn’t be. Chaos still felt so heavy.

“I’m fine,” Yvoire mumbled in answer to Reims’ question.

It wasn’t a complete lie. He wasn’t hurt, or even all that afraid. The riddle had been easy. Nothing about the room had been terribly frightening. They hadn’t had to fight anything. Yvoire knew that probably wouldn’t last, but he thought their chances were pretty good as long as they stuck together.

That didn’t mean the jealousy wasn’t still eating away at him.

He wanted to ask Reims and Rose how they knew each other but thought he might be too obvious if he did. He almost followed after Amarynthos and Ephesus when they went to Sessrumnir and Alastor but didn’t want to be a bother. He thought about looking around the room but didn’t want to get in the way. There were other people milling about. Yvoire didn’t want to draw attention or disapproval. Reims had already been snapped at before they’d split off into different groups.

In the end, he stayed by his friends—a little quiet, a little out of place, keeping his eyes averted so he didn’t risk too many negative feelings showing up on his face. He flicked his gaze toward Rose. She was very pretty, and she seemed nice. Yvoire didn’t really care for her, but he could see why Reims would like her. She served Lysithea like Dering, so she fit in with the rest of them. But there were more knights of Lysithea, weren’t there? Why didn’t she go hang out with them and leave Reims alone? Reims was the only other knight of Ganymede Yvoire knew.

He knew he was being ridiculous, but he couldn’t help it. He really thought he and Reims could have something special. Maybe they still could. Maybe he was overreacting. But it was hard not to when he was used to being sad and disappointed.

His gaze trailed over to Amarynthos and Ephesus. They were so close, and they cared for each other so much. Yvoire wanted that with someone, but maybe it wasn’t meant for him.

Yvoire shrugged in answer to Cynthus, then gazed up at the domed ceiling. He stared into the stars without seeing much of anything, letting himself go distant and unconfused instead of marveling at its beauty. He felt small and insignificant beneath it, trapped in his own misery, stumped by the riddle of his own feelings without any clue for an answer. Outwardly he seemed calm, but inside he felt chaotic.

Maybe it was this place that was doing it to him. Or maybe it was just his fate to be this way.

Rose, Page of Lysithea

Rose had a smile on her face.

They’d solved the riddle. It hadn’t really been that difficult to figure out, but she still felt good about it. They should celebrate their successes, even the small ones! With that done, they could leave the smaller room they’d been in and enter a different one.

Wow...”

Rose looked up and let herself be amazed. It was beautiful! She’d been to the planetarium in Destiny City before, but something about being on a different world made this place seem almost ethereal in comparison. It was almost enough to take Rose’s breath away. She turned slowly on the spot to get a look around, seeking familiar stars and constellations.

“This place must have been amazing way back when,” she said.

It was amazing now, but sort of sad, too, being that it was all that remained. Rose hoped their efforts here would help, that Urania could recover and be what it once was.

She didn’t know anything about theaters on the moon so couldn’t answer Cynthus, but the prospect made her even more intrigued. There was so much about space she knew nothing about, so much she hadn’t had the chance to see yet! She’d been to her wonder briefly, knew what it was even if she didn’t know its purpose, but this was her first time being anywhere else in space. She’d love to see the moon. And Reims’ wonder. And Dering’s, too, if he’d like to share it with her; she hadn’t seen any others on Lysithea yet.

“You all have to show me your Wonders one day,” she said aloud, still glancing up, looking for Jupiter and the moons she knew orbited it. Lysithea and Ganymede weren’t even all that far apart in the grand scheme of things. Maybe they’d known one another in the past. Maybe they were meeting again in the present, returning to each other after hundreds of years.

It was a nice thought. It certainly made space seem less lonely.

She pulled her attention back to the others when Cynthus asked about pizza, suddenly uncertain. Her gaze settled on Reims. She knew things were awkward for him, that he didn’t want to share his identity if he didn’t have to, but she kind of liked the idea of hanging out in less stressful circumstances, and giving him the chance to be around his friends more.

“Do you think we could do it without powering down?” she wondered. “I… I don’t know if I’m ready to share who I am yet,” she said, for Reims’ sake more than her own, so he wouldn’t feel like the one making things difficult, “and I wouldn’t want any of you to feel uncomfortable since we don’t really know each other all that well. We could grab some food and drinks and maybe go to one of our Wonders? I haven’t seen any yet. Just mine. I’d like to. I didn’t even know there were so many words out there we could actually visit until Reims told me.”

She continued to eye Reims to make sure he’d be okay with whatever any of them decided to do.

Belmont, Squire of Jupiter

In the brief reprieve they had, Belmont’s guard lowered. Just slightly! He couldn’t help but laugh softly at Connie’s continued concern for bugs. “Yeah, I don’t know if anything could live out here with Chaos like this. I’ve never seen any living creature on my Wonder either, and it doesn’t have all this Chaos trying to snuff everything out.”

Of course, for all he knew Chaos had come and gone and wiped everything out already.

But that wasn’t something to dwell on now. He could take a break from fighting here but he couldn’t shut off the fact that it was still a high danger situation. It just felt off. Even with nothing alive, nothing moving, the whole place still felt like a weapon ready to attack. And yet, in all of the Chaos, there was still beauty.

Without Urania there to explain what they were looking at, he could only assume that someone must have poured a lot of love and effort into the craftsmanship here. He'd found things on his Wonder but nothing quite like this. It was crazy that any world with this much technology or knowledge about the universe could be overwhelmed with Chaos.

He wondered if Urania knew it was coming or if it had taken her world completely by surprise.

"When we get out of here, I think I have a lot of questions. But I'm trying to be good and focus on getting this taken care of first. I still want to take you two to my Wonder sometime." And see their worlds, if they wanted company. "I want to know more about how a world falls."

Dering, Squire of Lysithea (and Amarynthos, Knight of the Moon)

“I’m fine. I’m not really hungry,” Dering said instinctively, apologetically. It felt like practiced lines more than anything but he flashed a quick smile regardless. “But I’d like to tag along. If that would be okay. I think Mary and Effie could probably take us all up to their Wonders if we wanted to do that.”

He was worrying his fingers into his lute, careful to avoid the strings so he didn’t make too much noise.

“Um. If they want to do that.”

“We want to do that,” Amarynthos called, not too far away. He wasn’t eavesdropping! He just hadn’t completely turned his attention off of the rest of his team.

Dering couldn’t quite say he was startled that Amarynthos heard, but he was glad that he’d said yes instead of fussing over being volunteered to take anyone anywhere. If things finished up quickly here it might not even be too late to feel bad about hanging out for a bit longer.

Connie, Squire of Chronos

Oh good, it was good that her friends confirmed that there were no bugs. She let out a sigh of relief and placed a hand probably a bit dramatically over her chest as if to calm her heart.

She didn’t like how the Chaos felt. It was heavy and suffocating and she would have really liked to just go home. But it was beautiful there. There were so many pretty things to look at that it was surprising to think that the whole world except that building had been destroyed by Chaos.

“I would love to visit,” Connie reassured Belmont when he mentioned wanting to take them to his Wonder still. She had been to hers a long time ago, but figured it was about time that she started working on cleaning things up there. Maybe she could make it into her own personal art studio. Was that too selfish of her? It wasn’t really an art studio, but she also hadn’t had much time to investigate.

It was definitely something to think about. And once she was able to get everything cleaned up and ready for guests, she would absolutely want to take Belmont and Perdita!

The thought of worlds falling sent a shiver down her spine. She could only imagine how horrifying it would have been, having everything consumed by Chaos, be it slow or fast.

It made her wonder if that was what was happening to Earth. Just a little at a time.

They would have to be careful, then. They would have to figure out a way to beat Chaos and win back their planet. Sure, living in space could probably be fun, but she also wanted the convenience of everything that had already been made and cultivated and developed.

One thing at a time.

First… they had to get stronger.

Amarynthos, Knight of the Moon

Amarynthos was undeniably amused with Sessrumnir’s gesture of gratitude and couldn’t help but smile. He was such a dad. “Not really any trouble. We’ve got a good team, everybody’s looking after everybody.”

He knew Alastor and Sessrumnir would probably recognize most of their group from last summer–except, now they were greater in number, and stronger. “Oh, I hope you don’t mind if Effie and I go to the Moon after this? I’ll take good care of him and have him home before midnight. Probably. But if not, you know where to find us. I want to celebrate Reims and Yvoire and Cynthus getting stronger. And Rose, she’s new. That deserves a warm welcome.”

And it had nothing to do with showing off what he and Ephesus had been working on, or introducing him to the bear cubs tumbling around on his Wonder.

Alastor, Eternal Senshi of Despair

In no world could Alastor complain about the hug, or being pushed closer to Sessrumnir in the process. He wrapped one arm low around Sessrumnir’s waist instinctively–to stabilize them in the hug, of course–and the other more obviously in comfort and reassurance around Ephesus.

“That sounds like fun. You should.” He glanced at Sessrumnir out of the corner of his eye to make sure he wasn’t squirming at the thought before smoothing Ephesus’ hair down. “I’m glad your friends are here. I always feel better when you’re looking out for each other. I’m very proud of you all.”

Chaos was not an easy monster to wrestle, and they were all in good spirits despite its constant presence here. Even if it was unlike his own, it was a constant reminder of how long he’d lived under its weight.

He could appreciate the beauty of Urania, and he could lament that this was the last structure on her world. And Chaos was threatening it even now. He did his best to show only good spirits, but there was an ache in his chest he couldn’t quite dispel through willpower alone.

He was happy that the boys could spend some time with their friends after this. He was happy he could spend some time with Sessrumnir, too.
