Prince Remarque, Dark Mirror Senshi of Puppetry

Remarque was used to the oddities within Mirrorspace. Most of the time it was harmless, like maybe Mirrorspace was just causing a little mischief or forgot how to hold itself together. A few broken mirrors here and there, a few dead end hallways that led to rubble and debris. Sometimes, he’d find a crack in the wall and peer into an endless, swirling nothingness, or he’d come across a wraith that looked at him with eyes that knew more than a thoughtless, tool of a creature should.

Mirrorspace didn’t usually cause issues, and it didn’t usually come at the expense of the Court’s well-being when it did.

The shadows in the mirror over the last week had been enough for him to investigate, and he’d passed through enough mirrors since he’d first noticed the oddity that he was well acquainted with the sensation of something tugging on him as he passed through. Sometimes, it made him think of a child, trying to get his attention. Or a monster, trying to pull him into the shadows.

The fabric of his uniform had been torn twice. His hair had been pulled. Buttons had been pulled off completely. He was sturdy and durable, and yet he’d accumulated his fair share of bruises. Every trip through the mirror felt like he was doing it with someone on his back.

The last few days had been the worst. The mirrors in his home, in the antique shop, were rattling. Like something was trying to get out. He’d cleaned up so much glass out in Destiny City, and the state of things in Mirrorspace weren’t much better.

He’d only cut himself once, but it had been enough. The back of his hand was bandaged from when the mirror shattered around him while he’d gone into investigate.

And, he had been investigating. Stalking the shadows, hunting them. He’d spent a considerable amount of time in Mirrorspace already, and he had a lead.

A good one.

But he wasn’t foolish enough to investigate further alone. He’d sent out a message on his compact a few hours ago.

Quote:
Hey. I’ve been having a hard time with some of the mirrors lately, so I was looking into it. Mirrorspace is having some problems. I’m fairly confident that I’ve figured out where the issues are coming from but I’m not going in until ten tonight. I don’t know how dangerous it’s going to be, but if anyone wants to look into resolving this with me, I’d appreciate it. I think I need a few hands to make sure we get this fixed. Be careful while traveling through the mirrors, there have been some injuries. I’ll be in the Common Room. If anyone wants a ride in, let me know. I’ll fill everyone in on the plan once we’re here and ready to head out.

It was nearly ten.

He already knew a few more people were coming, and some had already arrived.

Over half of the mirrors in the Common Room were broken when he’d arrived, and since then half a dozen more had cracked or shattered completely.

The Golden Mirror leading into the Mirrorscape, and the Black Mirror itself seemed resilient–for now. He hadn’t seen any shadows get close to either of them, but the endless echo of shattering glass was starting to grate on him.

It felt like it was only a matter of time.

Quote:
Remarque has sent out a message on the Dark Mirror Compacts to ask for assistance looking into the oddities occurring in Mirrorspace; he has warned that it might be dangerous, as traveling through the mirrors has already been risky. There are no repercussions for not joining. Characters can Mirrorwalk to the Common Room of Mirrorspace regardless of rank; if they are a first stage character that wants to participate, when they approach a mirror it will ripple and they can step through to join the group there. You can also have your character arrive with a high ranked Dark Mirror Senshi who accompanies them if you prefer!

This ORP ICly takes place on the evening of Sunday, September 3rd and takes place ICly after after these prompts; you do not have to have participated in any of these prompts to participate in this event! You can still respond to the prompts if you are interested in playing with them; ICly the first prompt would have started on Friday, August 25th and the second prompt would have begun on Saturday, September 2nd.

The next plot based post will come at ~5 PM EST on Saturday, August 26th and following posts should occur ~every 48 hours unless otherwise mentioned, but players can post as often as they like. There are no repercussions for missing a prompt. This ORP will run from now until Sunday, September 3rd.

When posting, please include your character’s name and rank at the top of your post and link to their journal!

If players have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me! This is a personal plot that will ICly introduce a magic revision for Sailor Remarque, so there will be a point in this roleplay where he has a spotlight moment; if you would rather not participate, that’s okay! This roleplay will count for a battle requirement and will have an optional follow up prompt for Dark Mirror Senshi to play with.

Super Arawn, Dark Mirror Senshi of Cŵn Annwn

This was probably a bad idea. Arawn wanted to help Remarque. He’d been good to him and Laon since they’d met. He’d given them opportunities that they wouldn’t have otherwise been given. Remarque took a risk on them, and all Arawn and Laon could do was hope whatever they did, it would be enough to repay Remarque for his generosity.

But Arawn did not play well with others.

He kept to himself (and Laon, of course) as much as he could as far away from any other court member that he could. He could feel the knots in his stomach as he paced anxiously back and forth, despite Laon’s desperate attempt to hold onto his uninjured hand to keep him from wearing a hole into the floor.

His other hand had been injured at work.

There’d been several nice mirrors that Jett had kept safe in the antique store, and while Orien had been carefully moving some things around it, he must have touched it the wrong way or something, because it shattered under his hand.

He hadn’t wanted to ask for help, of course. He’d been so embarrassed and ashamed that he broke something valuable that it took him nearly passing out to finally use his cell phone to call Jett from the otherside of the store while Orien sat next to the pile of broken glass and blood.

He was fine. He was given some juice and had his hand bandaged up, and promises that it probably wasn’t even his fault. That there was something happening in the mirrors.

Once it had been mentioned, Orien remembered that he thought he saw something similar to when Laon had gained a bit more power.

But now they had to help Remarque while others wanted to help, too. Arawn was already flustered and on edge and bared his teeth at whoever looked his way. Probably not the best first impression, but maybe they would leave him alone of they thought he was feral.

Super Sailor Laon, Dark Mirror Senshi of Gargoyles

Laon was certain he stood out. He was certain that the other Dark Mirror Senshi would just be able to tell he was an imposter. He’d only just reached Super Stage, and he was still trying to wrap his head around the idea that he’d earned it and not just been given a pity upgrade because Arawn had heckled Remarque about it.

He wasn’t sure that he would be more than dead weight, or a liability, or something, but he wanted to fix Mirrorspace. They’d only just unlocked it and now it was breaking, and–well, what if that was his fault? What if they’d somehow broken it by giving him an upgrade he hadn’t earned?

He shifted on his feet and was glad they were a bit away from the others. Arawn was doing well! He hadn’t snarled at or threatened anyone yet! And Laon was proud of him for that, proud that he was working so hard to manage his–well, honestly, it was probably social anxiety. Arawn’s just manifested differently than his own.

If his heels hadn’t been so tall, he would have paced with Arawn. Instead, he just stood next to him and tried to catch his hand to hold, to reassure or calm him down, or–well, something. Anything.

He didn’t like that Remarque thought this was important enough to call multiple Dark Mirror Senshi to help, and it worried him that something was wrong. Arawn had insisted on being here even while injured, so of course Laon was going to be here to support him. And to undo any damage he might have inadvertently caused, or–who was he kidding, he wasn’t important enough to break Mirrorspace. Probably.

The important thing was that they fixed it, and–wow, there were really so many other Dark Mirror Senshi. He didn’t recognize any of them. “It’s okay,” he reassured quietly, trying to brush Arawn’s good hand with his fingers again. He didn't think they'd make any friends in this, but--

He didn't know. He just wanted Mirrorspace to be fixed so they could explore it safely, and he would really like to not be afraid of mirrors maiming himself or Arawn.

Super Murikabushi of Hunger

Strictly speaking, Reiki had an infinite panoply of better things that he could’ve spent his night doing than bothering with any of the bullshit going on in Mirrorspace.

Did he want to know what Mirrorspace thought it had to say for itself about all the nonsense that it had been up to for the past……week or whatever (who cared how long, time felt like an illusion to Reiki anyway)? Yes. Absolutely. He wanted to very badly to know what in the Hell Mirrorspace thought it had been doing with all of the breaking mirrors, all of the public transportation pervert grabby hands feelings that had dogged Reiki while mirrorwalking recently, all of the pointless shaking around like white kids on TikTok that sometimes but sometimes did not end in broken mirrors.

But on the other hand, he and Haruhi were thisclose to properly giving up the apartment to the set of twins who’d recently relocated from Massachusetts. All of their and Cersei’s stuff had been moved to Yuki’s, which was so much the better for Reiki on several levels, since it meant getting to sleep with his best guy and his best girl. Soon enough, Reiki and Haruhi would be diving into Mirrorspace for their own reasons, and getting the ******** outta dodge, which would make Reiki firmly No Longer Mirrorspace’s Problem (or, more importantly to Reiki personally, it would make Mirrorspace No Longer Reiki’s ******** Problem).

If Reiki had been slated to perform tonight, he would’ve even had a perfect excuse not to come: Sorry, can’t make it, I’ll be all dressed up and painted like a living doll, performing a medley of Aqua’s “Barbie Girl,” Lil Nas X’s “THATS WHAT I WANT,” and dialogue from Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie, and getting a bar full of drunk queers to give me tips.

Unfortunately, two issues presented themselves (aside from how he wasn’t scheduled to perform at Scandals or anywhere else).

First of all, the list of people in the Court who knew that Reiki wanted to leave currently wasn’t very long. The only person who’d heard anything definitive had been Lete, and at that, only because she’d refused to stop nagging until he’d just cracked. Letting on that Reiki was getting out of here, and hopefully doing it sooner rather than later……probably would have created problems where there didn’t need to be any. It wasn’t any of the other Mirror senshi’s business unless Reiki chose to make it so, and the list of people he actually wanted to give a head’s up to was very short: Acubens-oneesan, Bélénos, Sappho, and Levi, but only in a letter or something because……well.

Talking to him about Reiki’s assorted Problems had gone badly enough. If anybody was going to break him down and convince him to stay, it would probably be Levi or Faustite, and of those two, only one of them actually reciprocated Reiki’s feelings, as far as he knew—which was far from the only or even the most important reason to prioritize warning Faustite, but still, was on the list.

Secondly, and most unfortunately for Reiki, curiosity didn’t want to let him go about his business like normal. If he left the Mirror without figuring out what the Hell was going on with all of this, he’d be upset about it and only have himself to blame.

So, ‘round about ten or so, per the Mirror Prince’s directions, Reiki had sucked it up, walked through a mirror, and slowed down as normal. Getting there, he only noticed Remarque and a pair of super senshi he didn’t know offhand. Those two seemed pretty entangled in each other—though Reiki identified very strongly with the grimace from the one whose fuku looked equal parts ghost dog, edgy front-man of a goth-metal band, and Miyazaki’s Mononoke-hime.

Giving that one a nod that he hoped came off more or less respectful, he edged away from them so they could have their space. Getting either of them too riled up or uncomfortable right now wouldn’t be good for anybody. Not when only Remarque had a clue what they were up against and everyone would likely need their wits about them.

Eternal Avior of Walls

Avior would have honestly considered himself one of the very last people who would answer the call placed out on their little compacts. He had done well, ignoring the pull for a few years as he focused on himself, his husband, and just... Peace. There was certainly nothing wrong with prioritizing himself and his wants than the world. After having been in this chaos since he was still a child, he rightly believed he deserved as much.

But this was different. Unlike the last time he had put on his metaphorical boots and came out to see a disturbance, there didn't seem to be a contained issue. No, this was spreading, to the point where he had gone on Mirrorwalks to investigate, only to come out scratched, roughed up, and looking a little worse for wear.

That was not something he could tolerate, nor slip by unnoticed. After all, he had his husband to worry about too. And not that he didn't trust Crocus to join him, that little voice in his head that decided to be overprotective told him to check it out on his own. Or atleast get there first before Crocus could. Gods forbid this was something like that damned Queen Altea again..

When he arrived, a small nod was offered to Remarque, an old, familiar face, before he found his wall, or mirror to lean against until more came. While he could certainly go and be social, an urgent crisis like this didn't seem quite right to go about and make friends. Perhaps after, when things were calm once more.

Eternal Sailor Acubens

Acubens arrived with a myriad of bandaids on her arms and even one in bright green under her left eye accompanying the chiding words of her wife at the forefront of her mind. She'd been given a strict curfew of the next morning at the absolute latest if she was going to answer Remarque's call. And, barring being whisked away to another planet which... no... she still wasn't over that... she fully intended to do so. She fully intended to return home and allow herself to be lectured and patched up by her cute little nurse-wife and go to bed with her.

Maybe pay her back a little for her tender loving care. Maybe in a way that was... not as tender...

Avignon beside her forced Acubens to keep her thoughts from causing her cheeks to flush and she only barely succeeded.

"Stay close," she murmured to him, already making her way over to Remarque. "Mirrorspace can be... well it can act of its own accord." And when it did that, it didn't seem to have much regard for the senshi who crawled through it like ants. Which... okay fair. Why should to give them any thought, as seemingly endless and ancient as the space seemed to be. Like Doctor Manhattan growing tired of the lives of humans when he himself was so much more.

But that didn't mean Acubens had to like it.

"Lav gave me a curfew," she informed Remarque very matter-of-factly. "And if I miss it I'm just going to go a head and blame you, so. Don't make me late."

Sailor Tegmine

Tegmine had arrived just after his sister, following closely behind her and falling into step on the side opposite her new charge.

"Super mature, Benni," he snorted as she addressed Remarque, clearly startling her from the way she jumped. Not startled enough to not retaliate, raining down playful little kitten punches that Tegmine knew were far below her abilities. Still, he played at injury with a laugh and tossed a few weak punches her way as well. She was teaching him to box as Remarque had evidently taught her, but he was still... very green at it.

"Don't worry boss, he sniffed when Acubens decided that he'd had enough, "I'll vouch for you. We all know that if something happens it's 100% be Acubens' fault."

Which, of course, earned him another torrent of slightly less playful punches.

Worth it.

Eternal Kiuchi.

Kiuchi knew all to well that mirrorspace was having a hissy fit, and that mirrors had started self destructing all about the city. He knew something was up, had seen them shaking and breaking at work, it left him feeling unsettled and each night curling close to Gabriel while drawing Kai into his arms. The configuration of three wasn't the same every night, it didn't need to be, but the idea was the same - keep them close. He didn't like feeling like mirrorspace, their only home, was going to attack them at any moment.

When the message had arrived on his compact he'd let his partners know and told them to join him, it was best they face this head on together. Others would be there, he knew it, but he needed them both here as well. So together they'd stepped through the mirror and entered the main room where others were gathering already. The glass on the floor was avoided, he didn't care for it going through his shoes and into his feet, as he kept an arm about Gabriel.

"This isn't normal, see." He'd been telling them about work and what had been happening, telling them how worried he was becoming. He'd also told his sister, who was also joining the group, he knew she'd be following right behind himself and his partners and that was the reason for him looking over his shoulders. "Sister."

Sailor Avignon.

He'd been leaving work, after a rare short shift, when Rhona had grabbed him up and told him of some mission. She made it seem like something fit for a fairytale of knights and dragons and the like, now he doubted that very much, he had agreed to go with her no matter how much he doubted the mission would be anything like how she made it out to be. He figured it was a good idea, for some reason, and had let his family know he'd be busy at the gym for a few hours. it was a lie, he knew it, and he felt guilt for it but he'd sent the message anyway before following Rhona.

When he arrived, at her side, in the large room he did not look that happy. Something had grabbed at him when he'd been entering into mirrorspace, it had even left his hair a mess, and Avignon kepoot close to her just because he didn't trust htis fairly unknown place. "I don't plan on stepping away." Not while they were here anyway. Though he did notice all these people here...more than he'd expected. Taking note of all the broken mirrors, and the glass littering the floor, the younger looked over at Acubens. "This isn't normal, I'm sure, so we're trying to figure out why all the broken mirrors?" He assumed; though he still asked.

Super Itokawa

When the message had come over his compact he'd been out gathering energy with his partner, as they often did, so he'd left the choice up to the other wether they'd deal with whatever was going on or if they'd gather more energy before going home. He wasn't going to bring the other into something which may risk the health of either of them, it wasn't his place to go making choice for the other, so he'd let Clue decide what they'd do.

And here they were walking into mirrorspace, side by side, as he took in all those already gathered and the others arriving. It was a large gathering, larger than he figured it owuld be, but that was the thing. Their court was small but most seemed rather dedicated and turned out to such things, showing that while small they still had a a majority turning up so the odds were good for them. "Keep close, I don't want to risk either of us..." He was worried, and rightfully so, anything could happen when you dealt with magic but especially when it was mirrorspace. Grasping the others hand and giving a squeeze. "We should check in with the others." Even if they didn't know most of those here it was good to mingle before they got into things, to see who else they should be keeping with, it might get them caught up on things as well.

Sailor Rana

Rana heard her brother, she really did. She heard him and she listened to him. Listened to his concerns and his worries, and she really did feel like they were valid. Grounded in reason, even. Wise concerns from a wise man. And, her Rana's credit, she did try and be serious. For a moment. A long moment, mind you. An excruciating moment, even. A moment when she nodded solemnly and answered Kiuchi's call with, "I'm here, big brother."

But then that moment passed, because Miss Acubens was snorting and throwing punches at Mister Tegmine and that looked terribly fun. She was teaching Rana to box as well, and while she wasn't taking it as seriously, using it more as a good work out rather than a set of skills she could use as a senshi, she still enjoyed it. Or maybe she enjoyed having Miss Acubens' attention for a while.

Either way.

Play fighting with the twins seemed like far more fun than anything else in that moment, and so she peeled off to make her way over.

Until she was distracted by a set of incisors connected to a senshi that she hadn't seen before. the discovery made her stop in her tracks and change direction on a dime, zeroing in on him immediately.

"You have pretty teeth," she said simply, smiling like it was the most normal compliment in the world. "Healthy and white. Do you bleach?"

Eternal Lacerta

Adventuring in Mirrorspace: was this the right move?

Somewhere deep inside Lacerta knew that she wanted to get down to the bottom of whatever was causing the abnormalities that she had experienced over the past week. At the same time though she wasn't exactly keen on repeating the latest incident in which she'd reached for a side of a mirror only for the large reflective surface to shatter and spray outwards, causing some minor lacerations to her hands. Given that she had the ability to heal ... it hadn't taken long to seal the wounds but now she was on edge.

The fact was she would have ignored the request that had come through on her compact if it had come from someone that she didn't recognize the name of ... but seeing that it was Remarque who was asking for assistance meant that she should go.

Bracing herself Lacerta entered the nearest mirror that she could find, relieved that this one merely seemed to shake violently as she approached and stepped through, but phantom tugs on her fuku was still enough to cause her to speed up her journey until she reached the common room.

Instantly she gravitated towards Acubens and Remarque before hanging back a little. There were some new members here that she didn't recognize ... though a small wave was given towards Avignon and Tegmine.

"There's something to be said about having an adventurous spirit and a nose for conundrums. Yet something about these incidents are wigging me out."

Super Hybris of Reflection

Meeting Hela to take her to the meeting was a lot more fraught with disappointment than Hybris had been expecting. Mirrors around town were more and more just so much glittering shards, and if there hadn't been other issues with mirrors and mirrorspace, he would've thought it was some sort of petty, maybe even retaliatory action taken against the court. Or even himself, specifically.

Even still, it was hard to separate phantom hands grabbing at him from the remembered hands grabbing at him. That ominous sense of being watched from the dread of that (there's a raptor in the kitchen) presence behind him. Shadows moved in the mirror while in the corner of his eye, he'd catch a light that shouldn't be there, startling whenever his shadow suddenly felt too long. Whenever his back felt too warm.

The combination of recent trauma and whatever was wrong with the mirrors meant that, despite the bruises being mostly cleared up, despite the fact that he'd stopped pissing blood over a week ago and was perfectly fine, Hybris hadn't powered up. The meeting, though, felt like a safe place to be. Surrounded by other dark mirror senshi like himself, overseen by their prince, seemed possibly the only safe place to be right now.

Stepping into the Common Room with Hela on his arm like it was some sort of dinner party, Hybris was smiling like it was for all the world an actual dinner party. Surveying the room he took stock of all senshi already there, eyes holding a flirtatious light as he scanned them head to toe, while his mind determined that yes, they looked stronger than him. Thank goodness.

As an overall impression, he really liked the dramatic flowing pieces of sheer fabric as people moved, the glinting gauntlets and aged metal brooches. He liked the drama of the dark mirror uniforms and their lush layers of fabrics and details, the feathers, the veils. It would be really lovely, at least for his eyes, if they could gather like this more often.

There was the Prince (Yay! Mirror Daddy! Yay!) a couple of boys who looked his own age, and here he paused a little extra long on. Until he realized that trying to remember if either happened to be an ex was a futile effort when everyone was glamour'd with power anyway. Which would make things a lot easier, if less exciting.

Murikabushi would get a complicated look. He wasn't sure if the tall and rather kind senshi should be hiding from or seeking out the fire general to apologize for...who knows what? Spying? Saving people? No, Hybris thought, Muri should absolutely hide from him. Even if there was supposed to be an apology who knows what kind of interrogation would be meted out alongside it?

"Hello everyone, this is Hela of the Dolls, and I am Hybris of the Eggplant!" He introduced the both of them to the room with playful, dramatic flourish. "We're members of Lenka's Haunted Garden." A fun little piece of bullshit that he'd insist was absolutely a thing. Right until Lenka tried to make him do laps for it.

Those familiar with the Dark Mirror Senshi of Reflection would find that he was paler than usual, a little on edge in his cheer, and of course, that he'd cut off most of his hair.

Lete of Decadence, Basic Mirror Senshi

Part of Lete didn’t want to go out and answer Prince Remarque’s call tonight, not really. Not after her last trip to Mirrorspace had been so unnecessarily dramatic (through absolutely no fault of Lete’s own, none whatsoever, when all she’d done was try to get The Actual Bad Guy Here to remember where he rightfully belonged: here, with Mirrorspace and the Mirror senshi, not running around with a bunch of stuck-up, ultra-violent weirdos in white who’d judge Mirror senshi guilty for just sitting there and breathing).

Not that Lete blamed herself for having a bad taste in her mouth about the idea. Honestly, any sane person would’ve felt the same way. Getting wrecked on Murikabushi’s magic and left behind to get herself back out to Destiny City? Had distinctly not been the most fun thing that Lete had ever done in her life. And assuming that self-righteous sense of “duty” motivated him to show up, Lete really didn’t want to deal with Muri or with any of his s**t. (Strictly speaking, Lete had fired her magic off on him first, but he’d deserved it! Unlike Lete, the clear and obvious victim in this situation!)

But at the same time, for all her own Theater Kid Tendencies (dramatics), Lete did care that Mirrorspace was sick, or in trouble, or whatever was going on with it. Mirrorspace was so much fun, and full of so much infinite potential, and it had been good to Lete until very recently. She didn’t know how she would get there on her own (and she didn’t want to just presume that Hybris was free to bring her in), but come ten PM, she threw herself into a mirror and tried to focus on slowing down……and came into the Common Room, grinning broadly at such a rousing success. In all likelihood, she figured this was probably a one-time-thing, but she’d get it all together when she made it to Super for herself.

Glancing around at the other Dark Mirrors in attendance, Lete noted with distaste that Murikabushi had, indeed, shown up. Unlike Hybris—who certainly knew how to make an entrance, and earned a smile and some polite applause from Lete—Muri seemed to be giving a wide berth to……well, everyone, or so it seemed. At least, most of the people in attendance seemed to be flocking around Prince Remarque while Muri played the wallflower. Or maybe he was doing his best impersonation of Ally Sheedy in The Breakfast Club.

Whatever his deal was this time, Lete decided that it was Firmly Not Her Problem. Instead, she turned to look at a pair of supers and a basic whom she hadn’t met before (Arawn, Laon, & Rana). The basic senshi in the trio seemed to have charged in pretty wildly, so Lete hung back for a moment instead, smiling and waving to the two supers by way of testing the waters, trying to see if maybe she could also come over.

Xihe, Basic DMS of Cicadas

Learning how to mirrorwalk in company of a powerful member of the court had been a fun experience. Even as Xihe had been thrilled at the sensation of having surfaces of random mirrors ripple as she stood near them at Acubens side had been a rather intriguing moment in her young life. She had been singled out only so very recently and yet even as she stared down at the closed compact that was clenched tightly in her fist did she know what she had to do. She had to try and do this without supervision this time.

It had been explained that anyone who was of the court could stop their walking when the common room was reached and it was with a little hesitancy that the basic senshi approached the mirror before seeing the rippling surface. She was going to do this - this maiden mirrorwalk of her own. She would answer the call and make Acubens and the rest of the court proud. But even the most well-intentioned of decisions seldom ended well.

Upon passing through the surface of the mirror she had chosen to walk into Xihe's nightmare had begun. By the time that she could sense other powered auras up ahead the Cicadian senshi was ready to call the adventure quits. Her gaze searched the room before she truly took in the amount of senshi here. How many others looked as chewed up as she felt at the moment? It seemed as if the answer was many. Well, that was a relief then. The phantom sensation of hands tugging/pulling at her person had been unnerving and not at all what she'd been expecting. Had that been normal? She couldn't recall if that had been the case when she had been brought into Mirrorspace at Acubens side. Had she just been too distracted to notice?

Irenaea, Basic DMS of Widow Spiders

Irenaea knew what mirrors were supposed to do. If you were merely a civilian in Destiny City they were only meant to show one's reflection. For those though that called the Dark Mirror Court family the mirrors allowed a faster means of travel than driving a car, riding a bike or taking public transit allowed. Irenaea had experimented of course on just how long it took to get across town via each method and Mirrorwalking was the most superior of the three. But for the ability to be present one had to be powered up. For most of the summer after encountering that rather hostile senshi ... and the mysterious Almadel Irenaea had been too busy with life to actively do her duty to her court.

The gradual sense of needing to back into an established routine before summer ended meant that Irenaea had begun to travel via mirrors once more in an order to get used to how the sensation felt again. What she hadn't expected was for mirrors to spontaneously shatter as she either approached them or as she began her journey through the surface. That couldn't have been a normal experience. The feeling of unseen hands tugging at her veil over the past week had also unnerved her. The time for answers was apparently near and since it was the one who awoke her into the court asking for assistance meant that Irenaea was obligated to attend: a sense of duty and honor and all that jazz.

Even as she arrived in the location that Remarque had indicated to those willing to meet did Irenaea glance behind her as the mirror she finished stepping through shatter upon her exit. The shards of glass tore at her fuku but that was all. The voluminous folds of her outfit were loose enough to offer the most basic of protection.

Parysatis, Basic DMS of Mosquitoes

Mirrors weren't something that normally terrified Parysatis. It was just something that all dark mirror senshi were able to utilise to move around. The past week though had soured the teen's opinion on mirrors and it was due to how strange it was becoming to be around them. Shadows seemingly moved in and out of them at random; ones that had no business being seen in the depths of a mirror as she walked by. It'd been noticed even by the general population that something was amiss. Mirrors also didn't suddenly begin to rattle before being hit with enough force from within to spray shards of glass out at unsuspecting folk. Whatever was going on to the mirrors in Destiny City the consensus in her mind was clear: it was simply not anything good.

Even as she stepped closer to one of her most trusted mirrors did Parysatis frown at the cracks that began to appear. If she had been paying closer attention the shadows that moved just beyond would have worried her. All her mind was focused on was trying to get through the mirror without it shattering. It held ... but barely. Even as she visibly relaxed did the dark mirror senshi of mosquitoes register the fact that it seemed as if she wasn't alone. Once more did the sensation of phantom hands manifest as parts of her uniform were tugged hither and thither before the shock of being shoved physically to the ground unnerved her enough to spur her into motion. She needed to find safety in numbers. Moving as quickly as she could Parysatis got to her feet and rushed blindly in any direction that was away from her current position.

She ran for what seemed like hours, but was in mere fact seconds, before popping out of a mirror and right into the back of another senshi that she did not recognize. The impact was a hard enough jolt bringing her headlong rush to a sudden stop and she winced before muttering an generic apology even as she tried to regain a sense of dignity.

Super Sailor Sadalsuud, Dark Mirror Senshi of Clovers

Sadalsuud didn't really get a lot of messages on her compact, so she had been a little surprised when her compact had buzzed with the incoming message.

Curiosity had led to her checking it, but the contents of the message itself had led to her frowning–

Because well, she'd been having a bit of a hard time when using the mirrors to mirrrorwalk too.

Sadalsuud absently petted at one of the stray cats as its head butted at her in a blatant request for attention, the movement slightly mechanical as green eyes stared out at the small park.

She wasn't sure what to do.

On the one hand Mr Rem was asking for help and Sadalsuud liked Mr Rem, but on the other Sadalsuud also knew that that she wasn't exactly the best go to for help and Mr Rem's message had mentioned that he didn't know just how dangerous this thing was going to be–

There was also the fact that there were others in the court, others that were likely to be of much more use than her - people like Kiuchi and Miss Acubens.

But.

But...

But it was Mr Rem, and Mr Rem was really nice, and the idea of sitting out didn't really sit too well with Sadalsuud even if she wasn't sure just how much help she could be.

She could try though, and maybe Arnica would be there too.

It was on that note with her mind finally made up that Sadalsuud distributed the last of her treats and walked over in the direction of the mirror that she often used once she was done at the park, because Mr Rem's message had said ten and she'd be cutting it fine as is.

She had eyed the broken mirrors in the common room nervously when she arrived, green eyes anxious as she stood awkwardly off to the side, most of the senshi unfamiliar to her, although it seemed like she had been right in her assumption that
Kiuchi and Miss Acubens would be there.

Sadalsuud also gave
Mr Rem a slight nod and an awkward smile.

She was here and would help - or perhaps it was more accurate to say that she would try to help–

At least as much as she was able to.

Sailor Hela, DMS of Dolls

It had been getting progressively weirder each time she had gone through the mirrors with everything coming to a terrifying flashpoint when the mirror in her room shattered. It felt... invasive almost on top of the overarching feeling of being surrounded. After that happened last night, she made sure to meet up with Hybris so that hopefully there would be a bit more safety if they went together.

It had worked, mostly. There were still handprints wrapped around her wrists and ankles but they wouldn't show here. What did show were the few cuts on her right upper arm where the edge of the mirror seemed to shatter and slash her as they had passed through. It was almost like it had tried to eat the two of them and she really really was glad they came together, even if she wasn't one for a dramatic entrance.

"Hello, everyone." Finding it a bit hard to speak up today, she took a few moments to look around for those she recognized as she carefully slid off of Hybris's arm. She stayed close to him as she did a quick pat down to wipe the bits of mirror dust off her. There were already a lot of others here, many she hadn't run into but she hoped that there would be a power in numbers against whatever was going on.

Seeing Kiuchi helped her feel a bit better, he had been pretty knowledgeable and one of the people she had messaged about what had happened to her. Hopefully he, along with Remarque, would know what's going on. Waving slightly at him, she kept looking around at all the senshi that were here.

It took a moment to recognize her since it looked like the mirror had tried to the girl as well. Irenaea had arrived as well and looked more or less in one piece. It was probably pretty useful in this case that she had so many layers. Waving a bit to the veiled senshi as well, Hela was glad to see her. It had been a little while since they had dealt with the weird pods and cicadas from hell.

Focusing in on Remarque, she noticed that even he had looked a bit worse for wear. The message he had sent was clear and she had wanted to help if she could, even if she was still getting the hang of some of the more in-depth things that were going on. She slowly gravitated towards him and noticed more and more that seemed a bit messed up on his outfit. Whatever was going on didn't care what rank you were it seemed and that bothered her even more. But he had a plan right?

"Are you ok?"

Mithra, Eternal DMS of Mantis Shrimp

To say she was annoyed was an understatement. While she had been attempting to gather more energy, it was as though every mirror had been fighting against her, even breaking apart on their own when she tried to enter.

She had punched more than one empty frame after it had happened. And it wasn't fun to have to ask apartment maintenance that their mirrors had to be replaced. Again. It had even gotten to the point where even when she wasn't trying to enter them they had broken and more than once Tom had to bandage their arms or feet in some way when it happened in front of them.

So she was VERY not happy about all of this, and when she did receive the message from Remarque she could only scoff and say, "Yeah no s***." And she had only managed to find a mirror nearby, barely getting into it before it had broken as well. If anyone were to look at her, they could see that she had just put fresh bandages on her hands with the first aid kit she was carrying around. Tom had required it for her if she wanted to go out as a Dark Mirror.

She was standing in the middle of the room with her arms crossed, unwilling to be nearby any of the mirrors, lest they decided to spontaneously break apart as well.

Bellerophon, Super DMS of Chimeras

For his part, Bell was a lot more curious about the situation, though he could understand New wanting to avoid it. Ever since he had been trapped in that strange fog world without any powers and those with being dragged and taken dragged away, he knew that even with powers that things could be much more life-threatening, even with powers. Still, he had wanted to go. There was still so little about Mirrorspace that they knew of that anything that would give them more answers made him too curious to ignore.

So now they were both here, together, holding hands and keeping close. He nodded to Itokawa. "Of course." He said while nodding. "This is a dangerous situation." Not needing to be said, but he wanted to let Itokawa know that he didn't think this was going to be a walk in the park. "Let's stay away from the mirrors in here for right now. Looks like they could break apart at any moment."

Varda, Super DMS of Victory

It had been quite a while since Varda had attempted to go into Mirrorspace or even to collect energy. So when the mirrors first started to break, she thought of it almost as a punishment for neglecting her duties. However, when they continued to break even when she had started to gather energy again AND it wasn't just hers, she grew concerned. She hadn't experienced anything like this while working as a Dark Mirror before. Something had to be going on and when the message from Reqmarque had come through on her compact, she was happy that at least someone might have answers. Or at least something that would lead them to whatever was going on.

She had only just managed to make it in time to the common room and looking around, it seemed that quite a few others were here as well. Good. If there was one thing other Dark Mirror Senshi could be counted on, it was getting everyone together when it counted. Now they just had to wait to see what Remarque had found.
