Sailor Meleph, Basic DMS of Disgust

As they ventured deeper behind their prince, what they saw became more interesting and more terrifying all at once. The galaxy above them was hard to miss and made Meleph feel like she had stepped into a planetarium that had some advanced holographic technology. The broken glass and shattering was also unsettling, and she swallowed around it and the reminder that the thing she used for quick transport was considerably more complex than a simple little party trick she was pulling to spend less on gas...

(Gas was unfairly expensive, and she only made so much as a bank teller with a 3D printing side business. The supplies she needed for that alone had a way of eating half her income...)

When Lete--Meleph recognized her, it had just been a minute--greeted her, she jumped a bit as if she expected it to be the eerie sense she increasingly felt instead.

"Meleph," she offered, uneasily. Did she tell her last time? "Disgust. Not sure how useful my magic's going to be here," even if it was useful at all, considering her magic didn't work at all most of the time, "so we should probably stick together."

Unless they didn't want her helping out, anyway, considering her magic would be double useless if the shadows didn't have emotions--

Meleph yelped when there was suddenly a shadow creature nearly on top of her, and the cozy game extraordinaire ended up flailing at it to get it to back off versus doing anything useful.

Super Sailor Laon, Dark Mirror Senshi of Gargoyles

Laon’s heart sank the second Arawn snatched his hand away. He knew him, knew his quirks and insecurities and weaknesses. He’d been relying on the grip for comfort, for stability, but he knew Arawn was fighting his own battle to contain himself.

His stomach was in knots at every little thing–at the oddness of Mirrorspace, at the threat of danger, at the little comments that were probably innocent enough but still bit too much. It’s not like Arawn was ever going to be an open book. When they’d first met, it was probably because Orien pitied him, and he was doing his best to try and protect him.

He wished everyone here could have seen that version of Orien–the one he’d known. Who was a bit crass, but always good natured. Who looked out for people. Who didn’t always say the right things or do the right things but who meant well.

Arawn was giving him commands before he could even process what they meant.

He was gone before it even registered what he was saying.

Laon had taken a step forward and tried to grab Arawn, but he was too fast and he only found empty air at his fingertips.

Stay with them? With strangers? Who was going to look after Arawn if he’d left Laon behind? What was he supposed to do if Arawn got into danger and no one was there to help him? What if–

There was an impossibly large number of circumstances where things did not end well, and what was the point of him being safe if Arawn wasn’t safe, too? They were supposed to be in this together, and Laon was confident that he was much more durable than anyone gave him credit for. He didn’t care if he got hurt, as long as he was with Arawn.

“Sorry,” he said–maybe to Lete and Rana and Asuka, maybe to the empty space where Arawn had been. He would have liked to stay with them and been safe, if he knew that Arawn was going to be, too.

He wanted to make friends! Just, not if it meant losing Arawn.

It didn’t occur to him to ask–beg–for them to help him, to try and keep Arawn safe. He didn’t know them well enough to feel like he deserved to make that request.

Arawn should have known that Laon couldn’t just leave him.

He went into the mirror after him, and though he tried to stay close to everyone–just in case!–of course he pinpointed Arawn’s location immediately and made his way over there. He might not have been as equipped to fight as Arawn, but he was determined to keep him safe. If breaking shadows was all he had to do, he could do that.

He didn’t announce himself, he didn’t want to distract or upset Arawn. He just wanted to be close.

Just in case.

Parysatis, Basic DMS of Mosquitoes

The sense that someone was actually amazed by her sphere had a smile forming on her lips even as she took the last few steps that had her within range of stepping through the mirror after the one that had called them here. Parysatis stopped at the side though as the one she'd crashed into earlier began to try and organize their group into something that could work well as a unit. Well, that wasn't such a bad idea and the senshi of mosquitoes took up a flanking position next to Hybris (the one that had expressed admiration) and Hela. It was strange to find themselves climbing through yet another mirror in order to access this strange location and Parysatis steeled herself for whatever confrontation was about to beset them.

At the warning to conserve their magic Parysatis found herself gritting her teeth before striking out with her fists instead at the creatures that dared to approach their group. Every successful strike against a shadowy form had the senshi inwardly crowing with victory but the sense that she needed to find something better to strike out with was made evident. Glass that was shattered with fists alone soon developed micro lacerations that could slow a person down. Almost unbidden did Parysatis feel a phrase bubbling up from inside and she couldn't push it back down.

"Parysatis Whine," was shouted even as she clapped her hands together and watched as any creature that was standing within a certain distance to herself seemed to be afflicted by waves of sound that caused them to shatter into nothingness without her striking a single blow.

Guess that answers what my attack is ... something to do with sound. A mosquito's whine, but amplified?

Parysatis moved back to stand with her small group before breathlessly preparing for another onslaught of foes.

----
[[ Yes she used a magic attack, but she now knows what it can do ]]

Sailor Scout Attack: Parysatis Whine!
(( Sound attack. A purely defensive attack as it may distract opponents from attacking ))

Calling out the name of her attack Parysatis claps her hands together. The sound waves generated turn into the audible whine that a flying mosquito will make when it flies close enough to be heard by the human ear. The sound is amplified to those opponents that stand within an eight foot radius to Parysatis. The attack lasts for twenty-five seconds.

Parysatis can use this attack three times per battle.

Sailor Bélénos, Senshi of Pears

Bélénos nodded at all the instructions—her magic probably wouldn't do any damages anyway. She could heal anyone who got hurt by these things, at least a little bit. That was enough for her, surrounded as she was by her allies—and Hybris, who... couldn't do very much and needed someone like her to help out. Fruit buddies for life! And she gave a gentle wave to Hela, nodding. Good, she knew more people here than she thought.

She definitely enjoyed the vicious punching of the shadows. Distantly, the part of herself that was dedicated to being batshit insane wondered what it would taste like if she bit one. They seemed physical enough, if they reacted to punches and kicks... She chose not to, though. Best not to get accidentally poisoned by mirror shadow thingies.

Parysatis' magic would drive her insane if it lasted much longer, though. Yikes!

Sailor Volterra, Senshi of Sunbeams

Volterra approached the group at the invitation of the admittedly cute girl (Lete), but—it seemed like there was a lot of group drama that ne didn't want to involve nemself in.

And—ah, great, one of these senshi (Meleph) seemed completely helpless. Ne swiped out, slapping the shadow away and smashing it into the ground.

"Watch yourself," ne warned. "My magic is a good offense for these things, hopefully, but it works on everyone near me, and I'd rather not use it on my allies, okay?"

.... Right. Introductions. "I'm Volterra. Senshi of Sunbeams."

Eternal Sailor Acubens

Acubens didn't want to lie to Avignon, but she also didn't want to scare him off. The truth was, Mirrorspace was about as well known as the deep ocean to the court. Precious little had been accrued over the years, and even that sometimes changed as they learned more. So she twisted her face into something like confusion and wiggled her hand to say "so-so."

"I mean... the place isn't stable but at least it's normally fairly predictable. And when it's not, its usually for a good reason, and we can either fix it or it just kind of... snaps back? It's hard to explain."

At Remarque's chiding, Acubens nearly stuck her tongue out at him. If he listened closely, he'd also hear her mockingly repeating, "I checked, responsibly," in a tone pitched too deep to truly be Remarque's voice. Despite the teasing, however, she did follow dutifully behind him, keeping a close eye one the senshi gathered around her and the basic and supers that milled around in scattered groups. She had no doubt that they could all handle themselves but... she worried none the less.

When Xihe spoke, her heart nearly broke in two.

"Xihe, no. You don't owe me anything. You don't have to do anything. That's the whole point of... us." she cast her arm around the gathered group. "You always have the choice. But if you do follow me, it needs to be because you want to. Not because you feel like you have to. And if you do, I'll always have your back. Always."

Especially once she passed into the space fully and saw... well... she saw nothing.

Which was kind of the problem.

Mirrorspace consumed things. Or the weird crystal in Mirrorscape did. Or... something like that... Acubens had a touch time keeping it straight, but something consumed entire planets which made the spaces they occupied and used possible in the first place. It was why Mirrorspace was tangible in the first place. Why it seemed to be forever changing.

Acubens had thought that the milky white nature of it was a side effect of that consumption. Like sucking all the juice out of a piece of fruit.

Now, however, she was worried. Worried about further decay of the spaces that Mirrorspace or the crystal or whatever consumed. What if the white expanses around them was only one stage in that consumption. What if... this... was the end result?

And the anxiety over the state of the place wasn't even taking into account the feeling of it. It felt raw, like a livewire. Like touching pure electricity. It made Acubens shiver and fidget, like when she'd been on her feet too long and they got restless when all she wanted to do was sleep.

"Where the ******** are we, Remarque?"

Because if he didn't have the answer... ******** class="quote">

Sailor Tegmine

Normally, the sound of his beloved's voice turned Tegmine into a cartoon character with hearts for eyes. Normally, he rushed to her side when he saw her and hung on her every breath, step, and word.

Normally.

But when he heard Ariadne's voice now, Tegmine paled. Even if she out ranked him, this was the last place he wanted her to be. He wanted her to be home, wrapped up in bed or curled up on the couch, safe and sound somewhere that wasn't the alleged hell-scape that was mirrorspace.

But instead, there she was. In said hellscape. And yeah. Okay. Fine. Maybe seeing her did still make Tegmine feel some type of way, even under all of his stress, but that didn't change the fact that he'd rather see her just about anywhere else.

"Ariadne," he nearly choked, holding out his other arm to her. "Exciting is one word for it. I think my sister and I would probably use the word... stressful?" He looked to said sister who nodded emphatically before she followed the prince and vanished into the empty frame. Tegmine, an arm around each of his girls, follow suit.

And swiftly regretted it.

Energy spiked before him, making it feel like his brain was soaked in soda and popping candies. It made his eyes cross and his nose itch. He nearly sneezed from the sensation. He pulled both ladies in to his sides closer and leaned to murmur in Ariadne's ear, "stay close, Bunny. Please."

Not an order. Not a request. A plea.

Sailor Rana

"Monster senshi need to be the most frightening thing in the room," Rana agreed with theatrical solemnity. "It's the law." But she could only keep the serious expression of her face for a moment before she cracked into a grin and curled her arm through the other aforementioned monster senshi (Asuka). Another senshi grabbed her attention, this one with a more abstract sphere than her own (Lete). Her offer for cupcakes was a deeply temping one, but she instead reasoned, "perhaps we could share those delicious treats when all is said and done? As kind of a... reward! but yes, I think looking out for one another would be a good idea. If what the prince is saying rings true... we'll need our backs watched for sure!" Which included Sailor BLACKPINK (Arwan) and his silver friend (Laon), whether they liked it or not. They were hers now, all of them. Even if they didn't know it.

"Shall we proceed," she asked, holding her hands out for anyone to take. "It looks like the olders are all proceeding, my brother included with them."

But then Sailor BLACKPINK took off without anyone and spiked Rana's anxiety. One of her people was getting away!

"Wait! We should stay together!"

She took off after him, negating her own shouted caution, and stopped very close to his heels in visible shock. Somewhere off to the side, Miss Acubens asked where they were, and Rana really hoped someone had an answer.

Sailor BLACKPINK lashed out while she was in shock, shattering a shadow and slicing himself up in the process. She gasped, panic spiking again, and reached out for the other senshi.

"You're hurt! Oh gosh... wait -- just wait a second! Miss Acubens said to always keept a first aid kit in your subspace and that's just what I've done! I have it right here!" Like they weren't in the middle of a proverbial minefield, Rana summed a small white box and flipped it open just in time for a shadow to catch her across the face, slicing open her cheek, and sending antiseptic and bandaids flying off to the side.

Lete of Decadence, Basic Mirror Senshi

In the immortal words of horse_ebooks: Everything happens so much.

Lete thought that helping each other out and looking out for each other was supposed to be so simple? Like? Stick together and don’t let the shadow-things attack any of your new teammates? This was fairly straightforward, conceptually, and yet, she found herself and the group (Rana, Meleph, Volterra, Asuka) needing to rush after the senshi in the red (Arawn), and soon also his friend in the gray (Laon).

Or anyway, Lete chased after them, hoping that the others kept pace.

Worse yet, though, they needed to chase down the others while getting set upon by so many shadow-things and surrounded by just the worst sound of cracking glass. On the plus, the shadow-things went down easily, with minimal effort. Every impact hurt, but on the rather unfortunate downside, Lete didn’t think that she could throw her magic around in a place like this. She’d already punched herself in the face with it once before, so what if it misfired and hit someone other than the shadow-things?

No. No. Only thing to do was grit her teeth, steel her nerves, and keep whacking and kicking at the shadow-creatures until they all went away.

Eternal Lacerta

Was there anything worse then hearing the confusion that laced Acubens query to Remarque about where they were? In her eyes Acubens and Remarque had answers to most things that revolved around Mirrorspace. Even as the members of the court that had chosen to go with them broke into groups in order to protect each other did Lacerta spare a moment to take in the the apparent lack of order to the location in which they found themselves in. Her ringed hand came into her view as she took in the sight of her ring before making a choice to press the ring's surface hard into her other palm, almost slapping her two hands together. She had learned a long time ago what her magically gifted ring allowed her to do and even if it only lasted for a few seconds on each charge there was a lot of durability stored in it. Ducking out from Tegmine's shoulder hold did Lacerta flash the senshi of mummification a wan smile before allowing him the chance to solely concentrate on protecting Ariadne. She'd be okay, especially if she stuck close to the main group ... but not too close to inhibit her ability to lash out.

As she heard someone else's comments on being DPS for their little group Lacerta's head turned on a swivel before she frowned. The reference sounded familiar, but if anything, in a gaming sense, she would be considered a tank with the properties of her ring applied.

Swatting out at the nearest figure that tried reaching for her and trying to pull her back did Lacerta feel a certain sadness at the fact that they were fighting things in Mirrorspace ... and destroying them, but at the same time, where these new creatures friends or foes? The creature screeched before shattering into smaller fragments and Lacerta winced before shaking out her fist. A small droplet of blood appeared from where she'd struck the creature and she sighed.

Whatever this place is, whatever these creatures are, hopefully we don't get too cut up in the process of trying to reach whatever is powering this area. I can't heal everyone.

Prince Remarque, Dark Mirror Senshi of Puppetry

Remarque didn’t have much time to talk, given the circumstances, but he’d heard Acubens’ question. “Mirrorspace,” he answered, because at the end of the day that was all he knew about it, anyway. They didn’t have much time to talk about it, not when they had all of the shadows to deal with.

Maybe there would be time to figure that out after things calmed down.

All things considered, this was going fairly well. There was too much movement for Remarque to take proper notice of everyone, but he was impressed by the veracity at which the majority of the attending Court struck out.

If they were tired of getting hassled while Mirrorwalking, now was the perfect time to do something about it.

The shadows were endless, and the sound of cracking glass seemed to echo constantly. Sometimes, it came from the army of shadows as they were disposed of. Sometimes, they came from further away, and sounded particularly low and ominous. Occasionally, it sounded like a large building settling–only, poorly.

Remarque couldn’t count how many of the shadows he’d hit. His knuckles felt tingly but he’d boxed for long enough that he knew they could handle a bit of abuse. His wings were far less durable, but when he needed to spread them out, at least they took up enough space that sometimes they did damage.

He didn’t feel like he made much progress towards the source of all of this chaos. Sometimes, between the waves of shadows, it was visible. The group was making progress–one step at a time–but it still felt like it was slow moving. By the time they destroyed one shadow, two more had replaced it.

It wasn’t difficult to tell that this was going to wear on them.

He had magic, but in this circumstance he doubted it was going to do enough to be meaningful. They needed to clear a path to destroy the strange, crackling crystal that seemed to be spawning these shadows.

It looked like a black tar had coated a torso sized rock. Sometimes, light pulsed from the cracks, illuminating the area like lightning in a storm.

They could keep running towards it, taking down waves of shadows and hoping they had the energy to make it so far. They were doing a good job for now.

In the long run, though…

He didn’t know what else they might need to save their energy for. Nothing here was ever easy, and he was more aware of the floating landmasses nearby that seemed to be drifting around them. Slowly, they swirled. Maybe it was just his imagination, maybe it was because everything seemed to be moving.

He could see ruins and massive mirrors on them, but there was too much else going on to focus on the scenery in the distance.

So, he had a plan.

“I’m going to clear a path,” he announced, voiced raised over the crowd. He hoped they could hear him over the sound of shattering glass. “If you’re fast or if you’ve got ranged magic, I think that’s our target.”

The crystal pulsed again, like it was challenging them.

Or, maybe, like it was trying to summon a better defense.

Remarque summoned his tiara–a magic he’d almost never used, but one he was confident in. He hurled it in a straight line, clearing a path towards the distorted crystal.

The waves of shadows parted, albeit briefly. There wasn’t a lot of time to take advantage of the opening, but there was a path.

That was the only real ranged magic he had, and he knew some of them could move faster with their magic.

They were a team. He trusted there were others who could make this run.

Quote:
All characters can attempt to attack the crystal! If your character has ranged magic or magic that can increase speed, you might be able to reach the target before the opening closes up. Anyone can make an attempt to attack it or find an opening to reach it regardless of what their magic does; it will take multiple hits to destroy ICly. Your character can continue attacking the shadow to try and clear a path if they prefer!

If your character did not pass through the mirror and is guarding the outside, you were almost safe! In the chaos of everything, some of the shadow figures manage to slip out of the mirror the rest of the Court entered, and your character must now deal with an attacking shadow! They may try to run past you, and will attempt to slam into you; you may find yourself feeling drained of energy, or feel the sensation of being cut by sharp glass. You can choose to take lasting damage if you like, but one thing is clear: you need to stop this shadowy figure before it escapes into Mirrorspace! It only takes one hit to destroy, but if it manages to drain energy from you it will become a bit more resilient.

The next plot based post will come at ~6 PM EST on Saturday, September 2nd and following posts should occur ~every 48 hours unless otherwise mentioned. Because of the weather, the ending date of this ORP should now be Monday night. Players can post as often as they like between prompts, and there are no repercussions for missing a prompt. You can join at any point in time; if you miss any prompts, you can handwave that your character was there in the group without needing to explain a late arrival.

Sailor Telesto, Dark Mirror Senshi of Pressure

Telesto's hands moved quickly, flats of their palms striking against head and center mass of the shadows, trying to keep them off of Hydrus' back and flanks, allowing that monstrous power from their palms to handle the rest. When an impressively large shadow charged at them, Telesto drew in their magic and ear-boxed the creature, pressure between their palms amplifying to crush its head from two different spheres of impact; a grisly sight at best.

Their head lifted at the Prince's call, eyes following towards the strange crystal in the distance. They had no ranged magic at their disposal, but perhaps their new comrade did. "If you have anything that can reach that far, I will cover you!" They shouted to Hydrus before striking another shadow.

Their attention was pulled however, drawn to the sound of cracking glass that echoed from farther away. Low and ominous, and large...

"Something big may be coming, it could be wise to conserve some magic..."

Super Hybris of Reflection

Settling in to being the group's very safely nestled cheerleader, Hybris raptly watched the others fighting. Waiting for those micro-lulls in action, he'd call out encouragements to people.

"You look great in your uniform with that battle ready look, Hela!" She already knew she was badass, but it was important for her to know she looked very cute and cool while fighting, too.

Listening to Muri give directions, most especially direction to protect him, Hybris's vain little heart was warmed through and through. Ah, Big Bro really liked him best of all. Sorry Lete, but I'm going to steal him! "Smart thinking Big Bro! I feel so safe with you taking us all under your wing!"

As Parysatis starting punching out shadow-bodies, Hybris began to clap, and then finally cheered as a group of shadows around her shuddered and then shattered under her magic. "I knew you were really powerful! It was in you eyes. And your fists!"

When Muri had announced that Bélénos had healing powers, he'd shimmied a little closer to her. Just in case! "You are so warrior princess right now and it's hot as hell. I'm going to tell all the girls I know about you."

And then the battle shifted, and a path was briefly cleared for the swift and the brave.

Some may notice a singular, dramatically arcing eggplant fly through the air at the prince's command. It landed midway to the crystal, on a lone, undersized shadow that burst in a tiny, confused sprinkling of shards.

Well. He tried. Hybris felt his job was pretty much done here.

Fulu, Basic DMS of Qilin

They had barely stepped through the mirror before shadows erupted all around them. The space was vast with floating islands made up of whatever used to be in this space before. Now everything was broken. Literally, everything. From the walls, floors, pillars, and glass everywhere. He might have been just a little caught off guard by the space. Seeing as how he totally missed one of those creepy shadows lunging at him until Panacea jumped in front of him and shattered the shadow in an instant. That certainly made things very real.

"Thanks Panacea. I'll get it together now." He shook his shoulders loose a bit. He could honestly say he'd never been in a fight before. He went out of his way to avoid those. But well, it couldn't be that hard to throw a punch could it? And with each step they took further into this twisted space more shadows emerged. Fulu didn't hesitate to ball up his fist and swing at anything that came close to him.

Fulu was always aware of Kiuchi and Panacea around him. He was waiting for a time to use his magic if it was needed, but for the time being the shadows were manageable. They were causing their fair share of irritating scratches on his hands and truthfully he was wincing at the pain in his feet when he managed to not take a safe step in their pursuit to get closer to whatever was causing this mess.

He did noticed Remarque trying to clear a path for some of them, but he had no magic or speed to help him get there quickly. Instead he just focused on dealing with whatever was around him for now.

Crocus, Super DMS of Saffron

Crocus followed Avior through the mirror without any hesitation. He wasn't sure what he was expecting, but he was still amazed by the other side. He didn't think he'd ever really get used to the insane things that could happen in Mirrorspace. It was almost like there was a black hole spreading inside, breaking up whatever had been in here before. Their path to whatever was causing this mess was a jumbled up mess. Add to that spooky, shattering shadows and well, it wasn't going to be easy.

When Avior let go of his hand and spoke up he returned his words with a soft smile. ""Don't worry. I might be a little out of practice, but being a senshi is like riding a bike. You never really forget how it works." His magic certainly wouldn't be very useful in here, he doubted it would have any effect on the specters in here. His fists worked though, even if the sheer parts of his uniform was not having a good time with the shattering glass that came with their dustings. He was at least thankful for his tall boots, he able to keep good footing at the very least.

Avior and himself were like a well-oiled machine working together to progress through the terrain. What one missed the other was easily able to take out. They weren't exactly hard to defeat, but their numbers were tiring in their own way.

As Remarque offered them a way forward Crocus looked to Avior beside him. "You're faster than me if you want to try to get further ahead. I'll be okay." Crocus could always stay behind and help those that weren't able to make a dash for whatever that tar covered crystal was in the distance.

Irenaea, Basic DMS of Widow Spiders

When Irenaea had said that she would guard the mirror from the other side to keep an avenue of escape open: she had been talking about an escape for her fellow court members if it came down to needing one. She had expected that if any attack came, it would come from the area outside of the mirror, from the shadowy figures that had been seen previous in other mirrors. Even as she stood with her back to the mirror's entrance did the veiled senshi keep a sharp eye on her surroundings. The part of her fuku that covered her face had been torn off to enable her to see with an unobstructed view.

After what only seemed like a few minutes after everyone else had gone through the mirror did Irenaea withdraw the small compact that she'd received in exchange from Almadel, the mysterious merchant. Gently twisting it this way and that the young woman still was more than a little perplexed by the item itself. The only thing that resonated with her was the fact that the symbol on top matched her fuku brooch perfectly. Deft fingers traced the outline before she ran a gentle finger all around the rim before she felt the smallest of indentations. Was this how one opened the catch, by finding all the small indentations and pressing them all at once. Scrutinizing the compact by touch alone, Irenaea found two other spots that matched the first area and brought three fingers to bear, pressing into the surface of the compact at the same time. With the quietest of lclicks did the compact lid twist open, allowing Irenaea to glimpse what was laying nestled inside.

"Silk, spider silk. You gotta be kidding me," the outburst passed through lips that were pursed together in frustration before she felt something ram into her from behind. The compact dropped from her hands and Irenaea felt as if something had just shoved tiny shards of glass into her back where she had been struck.

After thinking that an attack would have come from the front it was with disbelief that Irenaea turned towards the mirror and caught sight of the figure that had obviously just climbed out from the place that the others had gone in. It was eeriely silent as it straightened it's posture and seemingly just took a moment to stare her down. Then it moved - fast. Irenaea almost had no warning as the strange creature once more bolted straight at her. The impact this time seemed less jarring as she was braced for the impact but it still smarted all the same when the thing crashed into her. Even as she danced a few steps back did the senshi of widow spiders feel as if something were wrong. She was feeling a little sluggish after that second impact. Comparing the feeling she almost wondered if the creature was purposely trying to maintain contact with her for some nefarious reason.

Making sure to place herself as center as she could manage in the hallway they'd travelled down to get to this room Irenaea gestured in a "come hither" motion to the strange figure almost as if she were a matador with a red cape, trying to get a bull to charge at her. Whatever that creature was, it took the bait.

It charged.

Bracing herself Irenaea waited until just what seemed like the last possible moment before moving forward to meet the creature's rush towards her. A great crashing sound was the result of two individual's momentum impacting each other but Irenaea kept her wits about her and as soon as she was in range, began wildly swinging out with her fists. Surely whatever this creature was made out of, it wouldn't be able to stand up to such an onslaught of blows.

What seemed like an eternity later, Irenaea stood panting over a pile of fine glass shards before eyeing the mirror suspiciously. Her knees wanted to give out and she almost felt as if she'd run a marathon, but she had prevented whatever that thing had been from getting any further out of the room. Her back felt like one very large pin cushion and her uncurled fists, both hands, hadn't faired any better ... but she had defeated whatever it had been ... at a cost. Wearily she slumped to sit at the foot of the mirror. She'd trip anything else that came out of the mirror next time and fall upon them right away. Her compact lay on the ground, forgotten for the moment in the heat of battle.

Mithra, Eternal DMS of Mantis Shrimp

At least they could now see what their goal was, and Mithra had been happy to throw her fists out at any shadow who was dumb enough to try to attack her. Or be anywhere in her vicinity. She had gotten scratched and tugged at a few times, but that had only made her punches against them that much harder.

Remarque had opened up a path for them, but that didn't mean it would be open for long! Nor did it mean that they would be able to get to the crystal in time before they were swarmed with yet another wave of these shadows.

Were they wraiths or just weird shadow creatures? It was strange that there would be a difference between the two and currently they didn't have the time to find out either.

"Let's make that path last a little longer! Claw Shock-wave!" She yelled, aiming her fists out at the crystal. Whether the crystal was hit or not, and it possibly could be considering this attack could be used from a distance, her goal was to make sure that the path was open for as long as possible and with this attack, not only would it hit any of the weird shadow creatures near them, but blast them and those behind them back as well.

Claw Shock-wave
For her final attack, she can use both fists to throw out a punch. The punches now not only send out an “air” punch, but they also create air bubbles that pop and feel like a second punch, so attack “twice with one punch” sort of thing.

Has switched to where she can throw 4 punches, however it could be 4 punches on each target (aka when she is fighting a large group she can hit more than one person). She is now able to move around a bit while doing this, but only turning and slow steps are allowed. Opponents must be within 5 feet of her and can get knocked back 10 feet.

Bellerophon, Super DMS of Chimeras

"S***!" Bell said as he continued to fight off the shadow creatures. They appeared to be endless and when one was defeated, two more took it's place. "Where are these things coming from?!" He said out loud, though he was sure that no one really knew the answer. Remarque apparently had seen their goal and suddenly made a path towards it.

Unfortunately, his Super attack only went about 5 feet and he wasn't sure he could make it in time. What he could do was help those who went after it however, making sure that the path continued to stay clear. He looked towards Itokawa. "I'm going to use my magic, see if we can't make a space on our side of things a little." He said before turning back towards the strange creatures. "Fire Shout!" He said, closing his mouth and making sure to aim towards the outer edges of the group. The DMS wouldn't be in the way and it would give them more room to move ahead. He then let out a stream of fire and he could have sworn he heard either sizzling or moaning as the creatures were "destroyed" by the fire.

Quote:
Fire shout!
Bellerophon says the attack and can feel his mouth getting hot. When he opens it again he lets out a long stream of fire, this time reaching up to 5 feet and lasting 10 seconds. Can only be used twice. The enemy may feel the sensation of moderate to extreme burns (up to the player, but they can also choose to have lasting damage if the player wants it!). They may feel as though they have a fever for up to 12 hours (if the player chooses).

Varda, Super DMS of Victory

She had really only been able to kick once and had been forced to use her hands, fists, elbows, whatever other upper parts of her limbs that she could use to attack the creatures. Unfortunately they were all in a very crowded area, not only from these shadows but from all of the other Senshi as well. She didn't blame them at all, she just wished that they could have spread out a bit more.

Finally their leader managed to make some headway to their goal and a path was cleared towards their target. She looked at the two other Senshi that had decided to stay near here. "I can't guarantee I have fast magic, but it might make you a bit faster if either of you need a boost!" She said to them, before turning around and punching another shadow. "Just let me know! I can get your adrenaline pumping at the very least if you're feeling tired!"

Xihe, Basic DMS of Cicadas

"I need to do this though Acubens. I want to do this."

Xihe was determined to make sure that she came out of this alive. But the landscape was so very distracting. How did islands seem to float in space? Her gaze flicked to one new thing that was revealed onto the next new thing before returning to lock onto Acubens' back. She was staying as close to the eternal senshi as she could. Her hands were getting little stinging cuts from lashing out at the creatures that dared to get to close.

As the court as a group moved further along the path that they'd found themselves on Xihe began to wonder if the decision to do what she had chosen to do was right. But thinking about the one that had found her, seemingly rescued her to at least a neutral-like faction had her placing unconditional trust in the Velociraptor senshi. Once more Xihe lashed out, this time with her feet as another creature darted in towards Acubens. As the path was suddenly cleared in front of them the obelisk they'd been trying to work their way toward was suddenly revealed.

Swallowing nervously at the immense power shown by their prince Xihe licked dry lips before staring at the spire ... feeling almost drawn to the object but knowing she'd have no chance of getting near the thing before being set upon again. Her magical sense hummed, attuned to everything around her before it seemed that someone was getting ready to make a sprint to the obelisk.

Xihe's muscles tensed ... almost certain that the one she followed was going to do something ... and would need the backup that she could provide.
