NEWS FLASH! NEWS FLASH!Whoever is powered up, meet me in the common room if you feel so inclined. Mirrorspace is spitting out matter-creating crystals now and we've got some common areas to spiff up! All over the cities, compacts buzzed with energy as the senshi of velociraptors sent out her all call. Whether you recognized the wild red curls and smiling green eyes, you still got the message. Eternal Sailor Acubens is calling all available Dark Mirror Senshi to the common room of mirror space for another one of her "family outings," this time in pursuit of crystals to shape the central island in Mirrorscape. Anyone who knows anything about Acubens is hardly surprised by this quest, with the ginger Senshi forever dedicated to making the court a homier, friendlier, more accessible place to land. Upon entering Mirrorspace, you'll meet her in the common room, greeting in her usual manner with a smile and a hug. She'll be waiting for an hour (24 RL hours) before she sets out with whomever answered her call. However, if you show up late and want to try and find them, you're always welcome! NEWS FLASH! NEWS FLASH!Destiny City was trying to build a new shopping plaza but, like most projects, things rarely went according to plan. Leveling the ground should have been a quick, simple procedure--but they hadn’t anticipated needing to dig out so much dirt to prepare the foundation. They also hadn’t anticipated a strange, metal capsule to be lodged in the ground--nor did they even seem to notice it. Like other large pieces of rock, it was disposed in a heap off to the side. Ordinarily, it might have been destroyed or dumped somewhere, forgotten. There was nothing ordinary about it. Maybe, if the loader hadn’t crushed the side of the metal paneling, it would have been. But, in the twilight hours, as the tired crew rushed to finish for the night so they could get home, no one paid it any mind. Except, perhaps, for the Guardian Cats who felt a strange, electric pulse in the air, just before being thrust into an unfamiliar form. They no longer resemble their Mauvian counterparts--not their cat form, not their humanoid form. They have no ears, no tail, no star. No magic. Quote: For the next IC Week, all participating Mauvians (both Order and Chaos) will find themselves living as civilians! They have no energy signature and no access to their magic. They cannot change forms, cannot power up, cannot awaken or upgrade senshi, cannot access any magical abilities. They will look like their humanoid self, except without the defining features of a Mauvian--no ears, tail, or star. They will have a magical glamour that prevents them from being identified to anyone who has seen their humanoid form. They will appear in their fantasy Mauvian outfits but can change clothes when they find something new to wear. They will have all human needs--food, sleep and shelter are a necessity to survive. Keep your eyes posted next week for an ORP to answer questions and resolve this issue! (Players of Mauvians who do not wish to participate can simply say their character was out of range at the time of the energy wave. Any participating Mauvian players who were planning to do new RPs with their Mauvian that requires them to use magic may backdate the RP prior to the evening of May 16th! Questions can be posted in the MQ&A or PM’d to the mule directly!) If you have acquired a slot for a Mauvian that does not yet have art but does have a stamp, you may participate in this event. NEWS FLASH! NEWS FLASH!Destiny City Medical Center has been in the news quite a few times recently; the state of the art hospital is a privately owned care facility opened in late 2019. Since then, it’s received numerous awards and was on its way to rivalling Destiny City Memorial Hospital. However, in June 2021 patients and staff were suffering from fatigue, nausea, and were having difficulties breathing. An inspection revealed a toxic black mold spread throughout the entire building. Aggressive measures to clean the building have since failed, and local news is reporting that the board may be looking to sell in order to recoup whatever losses they can. A major settlement is being negotiated behind closed doors; staff, patients, and visitors who were affected may receive a payout Rumor has it that local entrepreneur and philanthropist Joseph Romano has expressed interest in the sale. Quote: There’s something strange going on at Destiny City Medical Center; the staff has been notified they’ll be receiving generous severance packages due to the unfortunate and indefinite closing of the hospital. Players may choose to handwave that their character worked here, that their character was interning here, or that their character was in the hospital or visiting someone in the hospital at some point since June. All characters who experienced symptoms at any point in time between June and the announced closing of Destiny City Medical Center will be eligible for compensation up to three thousand dollars by check. Patients will also receive reduced or forgiven medical bills from the duration of their stay. Negaverse characters may choose to be aware of an internal notification that there was an undercover operation at the hospital; they may have chosen to avoid the the hospital or may have chosen to put themselves ‘in harm’s way’ in order to be part of the compensation package. The Negaverse hasn’t given any update on the situation, but rumor has it that something good is on the way.

A text is received on senshi phones, and a simple scroll is received by knights. Simply put and frankly stated, the message bears a large vine full of thorns, with blue roses on the left side that seem to be lit with bits of almost blood-red. In the lower right corner is the only 'signature' for who sent the message out, a shining golden Octopus? Squid? Kraken? that sits in front of a matte blood-red crescent moon. (Senshi and Knights can reply and this will go to Scylla's senshi cell phone.)

NEWS FLASH! NEWS FLASH! The Negaverse knows that something weird is going on and has taken extra measures to ensure the safety of their agents. All members of the Negaverse who are going out and actively patrolling are told to be extra careful. In addition to warnings being issued over the tablet and in person, the Negaverse has distributed a special pin to all members. This pin must be worn at all times while powered up. The technology inside the pin is designed to pick up and report abnormal energy signatures to a database in the Dark Kingdom. They do not actively alert the wearer of strange signatures and are instead meant to be an information collection tool. Quote: This prompt is related to the current meta but affects all Negaverse characters, whether the player is participating in the meta or not. If you have a Negaverse character, they must wear this pin while powered up for the foreseeable future. It is a small, diamond shaped pin roughly an inch in size. It can be pinned to clothes or worn as a keychain of some sort. All Negaverse characters should utilize this device, including Negaverse Agents, Corrupted Senshi, Mauvians, and Youma. As of November 2nd, these pins are no longer required to be worn; Negaverse characters can hold onto them or return them!

NEWS FLASH! NEWS FLASH! As of November 1st, Dark Mirror Senshi may notice that mirrors in Mirrorspace are sometimes glowing with extra energy. Some of them seem to call to the Dark Mirror Senshi, like they are trying to get their attention. Dark Mirror Senshi who did not participate in this ORP may approach a mirror, either in Destiny City or Mirrorspace and find that a Strange Energy Crystal floating in the mirror in front of them. The mirror can be up to two inches tall and is clear with a milky, purple haze swirling inside. Bits of gold shimmer in the purple swirls, like stars caught in a spiraling galaxy. Quote: A Dark Mirror Senshi can reach in and grab one of these crystals, but they can only ever obtain one. These crystals can be buried on a Dark Mirror’s Realm in the Mirrorscape; a tree of the player’s design will begin to grow and will reach full maturity by mid-December. It can be based on any tree found on Earth and can be no more than thirty feet tall at full height. It may only take a few days for the tree to sprout and grow a few feet and, as soon as it does so, Dark Mirror Senshi may find that standing near it will leave them feeling rejuvenated. Injuries will heal quicker and their magic uses will be replenished; they will feel revitalized and as if they have a second wind. Players must write 500 words in an RP or Solo to claim this crystal, and must do so before December 15th, when all mirrors will seem to return to normal. If a Dark Mirror Senshi is not able to claim a Realm yet, they can still claim the crystal now and hold onto it until they can plant it at a later date. To grow this tree, Dark Mirror Senshi must have some mention of planting the crystal on their Realm, even if it is just a line referencing it in a roleplay other than the one where it was planted.

NEWS FLASH! NEWS FLASH!Senshi and Knights with upgrades to their signet rings receive a message from Mauvians: Quote: Greetings. This message is being sent to all Senshi, as well as Knights who are able to receive this message. In an attempt to help unify our efforts to protect Earth and the Universe against Chaos, we Mauvians have created a means for you to recognize each others’ status as Senshi while not powered up. You will not be able to identify individuals, but will be able to signal to other allies that you are a Senshi or Knight without risk of identification from the enemy. This requires an upgrade to your Henshin Pen, Signet Ring, or other small object that you will keep with you at all times, and can be turned on and off at will. It will be encoded to you, so no one will be able to use it nefariously. We will be sending out coordinates and time and date for meetups to help streamline the process. May you forever be guided by the light inside you, Your faithful Mauvians A microchip that is encoded per individual White Moon Senshi and Knight. It is designed to be embedded into a small object per individuals’ choice, such as an earring, charm on a necklace, keychain, hairclip, or even embedded into a Senshi’s Henshin Pen or Knights’ Signet Ring. As a civilian, the chip will make the chosen item subtly resonate when someone nearby is also a civilian Senshi or Knight. This way, Senshi and Knights who want to network as civilians can do so. This also helps to take the guesswork out of whether or not someone is safe to talk to, although caution is still recommended with unknown individuals. These microchips can be turned on and off by the individual, in case they do not want anyone else to know they are a Senshi or Knight, and they are only able to be used by the individual they have been encoded to. If an individual corrupts (regardless of faction, or powered status) they will lose memory of this microchip ability. Please keep in mind that OOC, all powered characters are protected from having their identities unwillingly compromised, but IC care will be required. NEWS FLASH! NEWS FLASH!Quote: There are shadows in the mirror. Sometimes, a shadow appears behind you. Maybe it’s far behind you, barely noticeable. Maybe it’s hovering so close that you feel its breath on you. It’s impossible to make out its shape; it never seems to be the same. It changes depending on the time of day, the lighting, the angle of reflection–but it’s there. Sometimes, it moves. Aside from the odd visual, most people won’t notice anything is amiss. For Dark Mirror Senshi, it’s a little different. When they pass through the mirror, they might feel something grab their wrist or try to trip them. They may wind up bruised or winded when passing through mirrors. There is a strange sensation of being watched, of being hunted. No major damage befalls them as they Mirrorwalk, and if they stop in Mirrorspace, there doesn’t seem to be any threat to them. The shadows linger in the mirrors, though. Watching. Quote: This prompt is optional and you do not need to experience any oddities during this time if you would prefer not to! Anyone can use the shadow prompt/shadow in the mirror if they like, but only Dark Mirror Senshi (or those who Mirrorwalking as a guest with them) will feel the strange sensation or any unease! ICly this strangeness would begin on Friday, August 25th and would be at its worst on Saturday, September 2nd. The resolution to this will occur in an ORP that ICly takes place on the evening of Sunday, September 3rd (OOCly it will be a DMC ORP that will run from Friday, August 25th to Sunday, September 3rd). You can use these prompts at any point in time OOCly as long as they ICly take place during the above dates! Quote: The shadows in the mirror were odd, but they weren’t much trouble for most people. Now, something is certainly wrong. Sometimes, mirrors will shake and rattle for no apparent reason. Occasionally, a mirror will wind up toppled over or knocked onto the floor. Broken glass isn’t so surprising–accidents happen, right? But if you look closely enough, sometimes you can see the shadows moving– charging towards the mirror like they’re trying to break out. Sometimes, the mirror cracks–broken from the inside. It happens quickly; a ring of force appears on the mirror and a sharp, shattering sound. Then, silence. The shadows are gone, moved on to another mirror. It’s worse for Dark Mirror Senshi. Sometimes the mirror will break as soon as you attempt to mirrorwalk, and it can cause sharp stinging sensations or cause actual physical damage. It may also feel as though someone is trying to violently drag you into the mirror. If you stop in Mirrorspace, many of the mirrors on the wall will appear cracked or broken, and it looks as though you can see something moving inside the ones that aren’t. No matter what path you take in Mirrorspace, there are always broken mirrors–or breaking mirrors. It doesn’t feel safe here. In the distance, you can hear shattering glass. NEWS FLASH! NEWS FLASH!Quote: The oddities in Mirrorspace have been eradicated! A group of Dark Mirror Senshi were able to destroy a strange crystal summoning dangerous shadow creatures. Roughly an hour after the group went into Mirrorspace to destroy it, Remarque sent a message to the Dark Mirror Court through their compacts to state: ' I think the problem has been resolved. I’ve been going in and out of the mirrors and haven’t noticed anything odd. I can’t access the location I was looking into anymore. I’m going to keep looking, but let me know if you come across anything odd. I wanted to thank everyone that helped out. You did well. I hope I get to meet up with you all again soon. Under better circumstances.’ Quote: This prompt is optional and Dark Mirror Senshi! ICly this message was sent out the evening of Sunday, September 3rd on the Dark Mirror Compacts. In addition to resolving the strange mirror disruptions, all Dark Mirror Senshi will notice a few other things for the following week: Dark Mirror Senshi Realms have a boost in healthy plant growth and may notice their Realms seeming more vibrant or receptive to customization, and wraiths will gather energy far more efficiently, to the point where the target may not even realize they have been drained of any energy. There’s not really any way to explain it, but Mirrorspace seems healthier.

Quote: General Aquamarine insists otherwise, but he is organizing a party for all Negaverse characters who wish to attend. This will be a casual ORP. Attendance is not mandatory, or even heavily encouraged by Aquamarine himself. In fact, if you mention it to him, he will pretend as if he has no idea what you’re talking about. The ORP will begin early in the week of the 23rd and remain open for a few weeks. There may be an additional side component to promote Nega camaraderie (and further RP) during the holiday season.
