Personality:
[Self] Kari is usually quiet and reserved around anyone she doesn't know well, but becomes more open to expressing herself once she gets to know them. This stems from her younger years, where she used to be much more energetic and vocal towards others. This would put people off from befriending her, thinking she was weird for being overly friendly. By keeping her true nature under wraps, she can figure out who she can open up to. Once she feels comfortable around someone, she becomes much more vocal, but can become easily discouraged if treated harshly. Has a keen eye for fine details. If details can not be found purely from listening or observing, she will seek out the most approachable person to ask questions. She tends to over analyze anything and everything and errs on the side of caution, so she is rarely the first one to jump into a situation, preferring to learn from others and make the right choice the first time. She does well in pinch situations and can deal with problems as they arise, but she may stew about it later or vent about it to someone else if a willing ear is available that she knows won't be put off by her venting.

[People] She can work in group settings, but will very rarely choose to lead the group, preferring to follow and observe. She may be is she willing to take a leader role in a group setting if she feels there are important details that she needs the group to know. Seeing cat-like students will catch her attention and are easier for her to warm up to since many of her friends in her younger years were cat-like in appearance or personality. She shies away from anyone with spider-like characteristics and finds them difficult to befriend due to a bad experience with a spider monster from her past. She always attempts to base her decisions about the people around her based on their words and actions despite herself, trying not to judge purely on looks before she knows someone. She tends to treat everyone else neutrally unless they've made some impression on her, positive or negative. For the people that she does happen to befriend, she treats them with the utmost care, valuing them as a rare treasure. They can also be one of the few things that truly push her berserk button should they come into danger.

[Preferences] Kari prefers to be called by her nickname, stating her given name is too stuffy and that it was used whenever she was in trouble with her family. She will give annoyed looks to anyone using her given name to tease her, only tolerating it from those she has given permission. Her likes are cats/anything cute, sweets, exploring new places, 'Pumpkitty' clothing line, reading, and warm places. Her dislikes are cold places, spicy foods, strong smells, and spiders (will actively avoid them). Her greatest fear is being truly alone, not being able to identify with anyone or anything in the world around her.

[Family] Kari has a father who is just as, if not more, meticulous in his observations of the world. He is, however, much more extroverted than she is, simply not caring what others think. He does studies of the human world and travels there on a regular basis to collect information. Kari also has a mother who doted on her often when she was younger to make up for her father's frequent absence. Her mother is much more introverted than her father, with the mindset of 'If they want to talk, they will. If not, oh well.' She has no siblings, being the only child in her family. Kari gets most of her looks from her father, while getting most of her personality from her mother.


Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? To learn more about the world(s) around her and to hone her abilities so she can become a great mage and explorer.

Pre-requisites: Beginner First Aid
Battle Effect: Once per battle, a player may choose to roll a 8-sided dice. This is the amount that the player heals themselves or another target for. You forfeit your normal battle attack turn if you want to use this attack.
Non-battle Effect: A character can heal medium to small wounds or cuts of other players or themselves, and know how to do basic stitching.

Beginner Speed Boost
Difficulty level: Beginner
Pre-requisites: N/A
Battle Effect: Once per battle, a player may choose to roll a 4-sided dice. Their accuracy is raised +1 for the next rolled amount of turns. For example, if I state this used effect and roll a 4, for the next 4 turns, my damage calculated is now -5 instead of -6. You forfeit your normal battle attack turn if you want to use this attack.
Non-battle Effect: A character can obtain a small speed boost/ speed surge to seemingly "teleport" a foot, but it can only be used once without them getting super tired.

- Kuro the Demon Cat: He's a pretty lazy pet, preferring to just lounge around her dorm or commandeer Kari's bed when it's not in use.
- Viese the Vaisel Nergal: Gifted by a friend, she hasn't quite warmed up to her new living arrangements, but progress is being made.

emotion_bigheart Roch: Reaper/Alumni ( Ice Queen ) - A guitar-wielding reaper that helped Kari learn the basics of fighting alongside Terra when she first arrived. Looks a bit imposing with his punk style, but is actually very kind and a good teacher.
emotion_bigheart Terra: Reaper/2nd Year ( Ice Queen ) - A kind and energetic reaper who wields a violin and fights using movements reminiscent of dancing. She is eager and helpful in helping Kari as her sparring partner.
question Maddie: Monster/Year 1 ( [A.V.] ) - A bear-esque ghoul who Kari met during a field class and during her Y2 exam. She's bit unnerving the way she cackles and is a bit pushy, but she doesn't seem to be that bad...
emotion_bigheart Camilla: Monster/Year 2 ( Rikku Takanashi ) - A jolly and polite Dormouse Kari first met during her knights dream, then later during prom at the beanstalk. Is easy to talk to and quite helpful when solving puzzles.
emotion_bigheart Carlos Ghost/Year 2 ( phantompanther13 ) - An airy cat-like boil Kari took her Y2 exam with. He seems to be an oddball, but he's definitely fun to watch.

After a certain amount of collected growth points, you can submit your student in for advancement to the next year (in theory, though its technically always October...) This gives them access more battle options, some higher level classes, and other special privileges.

1 point can be:

- One piece of fanart drawn by you for anything related to shop (max 5 points this way)
- One complete regular rp, you must have written at least 800 words.
- One complete classroom rp, you must have written at least 800 words.
- One complete solo rp, you must have written at least 800 words.
- One complete homework assignment for a class that assigned it.
-----NOTE: For 'homework' that involves growing a minipet from a class, you must do an RP or solo (of at least 800 words) involving that pet to get a point. Merely growing the minipet does not count!
- One complete classroom/mission rp
- One complete battle, with just rolls (800 words not required).
- Five minipets grown to their final stage (1 point per 5, up to 5 points can be earned this way. Can only claim 5 points per year this way.) (Halloween/Horsemen only)


2 points:

- One complete 'battle' roleplay with filled out roleplay actions
- Character 'plot assistance' (ie for events)
- Student is awarded a Pumpkin Seed by staff for outstanding work/achievements/something!
