If you want to make Kimiko cry because she's a lazy bum that's currently run out of any ideas for Mayu's legend, highlight below. (Revisions, revisions!)
The air wavered slightly, infused with the sweet smells of food and perfume from peddling sidewalk merchants. It was a warm spring afternoon�the cherry blossoms in full bloom along the paved streets of the rural town. Children ran about the streets donning their homemade yukata, giggling as they munched upon their sweet dumplings, given to them by the kind vendor stationed in town square. It was, in a sense, perfect.
The town had gained a reputable air since the � arrival of the goddess. The townspeople weren�t quite sure what to make of the event, but word had spread quickly. The celestial maiden had attracted

THE SHORT VERSION
Mayu is -- was -- a maiden who fell from the skies and landed upon a tree in a rural village lying at the base of Mt. Fuji in Feudal Japan (Edo period, I guess |: I'm not good with these things!). Being taken in by the villagers who believed she was a calling from the heavens (the crops were failing, animals were getting sick and dying, the villagers being swpet by an unknown illness), the town quickly began to prosper and gained quite a good reputation. The shogun took this as an act of mutiny, and was angry that the gods would give a blessing to a poor village rather than to himself.
Ordering his well-trained army of mercenaries to attack the village, the townspeople panicked. Ms. I-have-a-really-long-name gathered up a crack team of villagemen who were willing to defend the town, and asked the local blacksmith to quickly create armor to suit her "army". He quickly complied. With the blessing of the gods, they quickly defeated the Shogun's army and returned victorious, with all of their loot (XD). The maiden made her dwelling in the village until it was time for her to return to heaven, and left her body behind. Her ashes were scattered around the very cherry tree the landed in, and it is still standing today.
(I made this up, so no, it's not a real legend. If you find a real legend that's even similar to this, I will cry because it was such a good idea. XD)

Markings : A pink-colored cherry petal-shaped marking on her forehead, usually covered by bangs.

Interests : Reading, all animals, all plants (especially flowers), writing in her journal, learning new things, pillows, fruits, sweets and desserts, pink things, fans, sewing, interior decorating?
Regular attire : Anything simple, Mayu doesn't like trashy outfits or tight things, anything that's too cut up or has a great amount of things hanging off of it is a no. She usually wears her regular pink shirt and pants with the edges cut up to look like petals, but has taken to ankle-length dresses well.

Profile : Mayu is a kind child by heart, and loves to be helpful. She has a bright outlook on life and tries her best to be kind and polite to everyone she meets. She's quite friendly as well, and though she seems quiet most of the time can actually be quite chatty once one gets to know her better.
Though she loves being with her friends and family, Mayu likes to sit down once in a while and enjoy the simpler things in life -- taking a walk in the park, reading a good book beneath a tree, or even relaxing on her comfy sofa and taking some time off to watch some good old television.
Mayu loves taking the leadership role, and has an unusually large pride for such a small girl -- almost unfitting, considering her personality. If dared to do a stupid task, Mayu'll probably do it, as long as it doesn't involve anything life-threatening like jumping off a cliff. (Windows are probably okay.)
All in all, Mayu is a sweet girl who has a huge heart to share. She loves her friends and family, and shows remarkable compassion towards strangers. Sure, she might get in trouble for actually doing a stupid dare or two, but she's generally a good person and not a wrongdoer.
A (satirical) breakdown of Mayu's stats :
Strength- 32; You see that? These are hands for picking flowers, not lifting weights! Goddamn if I'm going to take those karate lessons, I'll get my a** kicked by my mom! Uncool! (Mayu is not very strong compared to some of the other Legends, as her interests do not include picking fights or combat. Acts to remedy this are being taken by Kimiko, who is currently trying to force her daughter into tae kwon do lessons.)
Intelligence- 56; Brains and beauty, fo'sho! (Mayu has a slightly above average IQ, and uses quick thinking to solve problems. She also learns new things quickly, preferring to document them in a small notebook for future examination.)
Friendliness- 87; I'm a nice person! (Mayu is very friendly, very happily starting casual conversations with people down the street. Her good mood seems to be very uplifting.)
Charm- 66; Hey, I'm a cute girl~ (It occurs to me that Mayu's charm level may attract some male attention. Let me sharpen my axe, and then I'll get back to you...)
Humor- 14; I guess I'm not that funny, huh? sweatdrop (Mayu's jokes fall flat, and she takes jokes directed at her as criticism -- that is, when she recognizes them as a joke.)
Creativity- 29; I've got as much creativity as a tree stump. Kimiko needs to buy me some nice drawing pens or something. (Mayu is not a very crafty person, though she does like to doodle little pictures with her beloved pink pen. She specializes in flower arrangements, interior decorating, and sewing!)
Spirituality- 31; Sixth sense? Yeah right. (Although Mayu has not shown an aptitude for magic, nor has she shown any signs of being able to talk to spirits and otherworldly creatures, if she takes these skills into training, she may be able to get some use out of them, with some trouble at first.)

Miyu was Kimiko's first adopted child, having been wandering the streets of Aekea when the teenage girl found her. She was discovered to be an elf (or something like that, Kimiko ponders) after being brought home to the two-bit house Kimiko lived in in Barton Town. She grew quickly, and has matched Kimiko in both age (relatively, of course) and intelligence. The silver-haired girl can be found slacking off, watching television, reading a good book on the nature of wars, or staring off into space. And of course, we can never forget her evil plans!Posts in darkblue.
orphne
Orphne is the Chaos elemental Tala. Kimiko had found her basket while traversing some unknown territory in the Talaye Meadows, which she had stumbled upon by pure accident. The Chaos Tala grew quickly and is now a helpful aide in watching over Kimiko's three children. Because of her halo (a gag gift bought for the Tala by Kimiko), she is often dubbed the Oxymoron Tala.

Chaos spawn, Akumu is one of Orphne and Hoshi's three kids. She's an Aku (Samurai Jack) fangirl. She's a child at heart, and loves chasing butterflies and finding cozy sunny spots to lie down and nap in. She also helps take care of Kimiko's three kids, though plays with them more than Orphne does.

verde
This dark-skinned beauty is one of the many "Jumi". Kimiko discovered Verde's core on one of her strolls and took an accidental trip to Etansel. There she found out what the Jumi were, and a week later, a Jumi emerged from the core! The Jumi's strange green hair and dazed eyes melted Kimiko's heart, and now she is one of the dysfunctional family. Mayu took to this girl right when she got home, and they are an inseperable pair now.

An animal they call a "Jivvin", taken in by the family after Kimiko discovered the egg mysteriously (as she did like Verde) one day. This Jivvin is polite, quiet, and kind. (Or is he?)

outdoors: front
The dwelling of Kimiko and company is medium-large English styled house--no older than the nineteen-eighties, one would imagine--sitting in the suburbs of Durem city. From the sidewalk it looks to be an ordinary dwelling with quite a nice price range, at least 300k. There is a circular driveway which surrounds a small fountain, and which leads straight up to the front porch. It is empty, as none of the house's residents are old enough to acquire a driving liscence. Hanging from the front porch are a few assorted items, including a few windchimes, potted plants, and a swing-bench. The door is of a cedar oak-type wood, and has a glass panel in the center and outside rim. They are engraved with pictures of cranes in flight, perhaps an artist's masterpiece.
indoors: hallway and living room
Leading in is a small hallway with a few raised paintings--lotus flowers, if examined closely--on each wall. The walls themselves are painted a light pink color, the color of cherry blossoms in full bloom. It opens up to a large living room with a few couches thoughtfully arranged. The walls are painted with a rich red color, fitting for the theme the room follows. The flooring is not carpet nor planks, instead a nicely woven tatami mat to match the Japanese decor of the interior. Several scrolls hang from the walls, painted with a skillful hand. A large vase sits in one corner of the room, with silk flowers neatly arranged to match the decor of the house. In the center of the room, there is a tan couch littered with assorted pillows of matching colors. Opon the wall directly opposite of that is mounted a 24" by 46" inch ZONY plasma screen televison with included surround-sound speakers. A window sits near the patio door.
In the north sits the kitchen, in the south a sliding door which opens up to the backyard.
indoors: kitchen and dining room
The kitchen floor is laid in with large white tiling, matching the bright white walls. Flourescent lights shine overhead. A large window is cut just above the sink, so that Kimiko may watch her children and pets in the living room while she is preparing dishes. The cabinets and the countertop are both stainless steel, and a small pantry is built into the corner of the room. A large stove is nestled between the counters, and a refrigerator sits on the opposing side. Near that is a scratchy to-do list, and a door leading down to the basement (now Kimiko's secret research facility).
The dining room connects to the living room, divided by an incomplete wall. The tatami mats cut off at the entrance and switches to hardwood flooring. A large dining table with a fancy lace tablecloth sits in the middle of the large opening, and an upright piano stands in the corner, next to a window covered in drapery. A rug sits beneath the table, looking uninviting. Eight chairs are set around the table, though only four are occupied. The rest are for guests. Above the table hangs a crystal chandelier, giving a regal air to the otherwise drab room. The walls are painted in a light green, and several small paintings hang upon them, accentuating various areas of the room.
To the east is a hallway, to the west is the living room.
indoors: hallway
The hallway connects the house with two guest bedrooms, both decorated with their own themes. The hardwood flooring continues over from the dining room, but the walls are painted a bright orange. At the end of the hallway is a stairwell which twists around and up, connecting the first and second levels of the house together.
indoors: upstairs hallway
The upstairs hallway has many twists and turns which lead to various rooms in the house. It contains a bathroom, Mayu's bedroom, Kimiko's bedroom (bathroom included), Miyu's bedroom, Verde's bedroom, and a small closet for storing linens. The walls are painted with the same bright orange color, giving a cheerful feel to the hallway and an uplifting mood to its residents.
outdoors: landscaping
Most of the landscaping work are done by professional hired workers, though the layout was planned out carefully by Kimiko. Shrubbery line the walls of the house, and flowers planted near the porch are inviting to any visitors. Mayu has hand-planted some saplings around the house as well, and they are flourishing. The leaves on their branches are green and healthy, and they seem to be growing quite quickly.
Roses climb up a wooden fence placed with care near the kitchen wall, and from a window in the back door, can be viewed. The roses which grow upon the bush are red, Kimiko's favorite color.

Mayu uses this journal to record her everyday life, and writes in it often. The paper inside is a light pink, the cover is lightly padded silk, and the book is binded tightly with string.

 A shimmering pendant left by Xaria and Cheshire on Kimiko's doorstep the same way Mayu had arrived so unconventionally, the pink child never lets it out of her sight. It is apparently very important to her, though Kimiko doesn't quite understand why.
 The fan and the plush were bouth from Auntie Kamtrouble, and Mayu adores both of them. The fan is displayed prominently on Mayu's bedroom wall, while the plush, dubbed "Usu", stays on Mayu's bed at all times. She never lets it go out of her sight, it's so cute!
 Paestri had sewn up (or however the devil you make a plushie) this plushie version of Mayu for the toddler, and Mayu loves it for its squishiness! She also marvels at how accurate the doll was to herself.
A feather plucked from Demare's right wing, in exchange for one of Mayu's pink blossoms. She keeps it in her mini-purse.

A small dry erase board is hung up next to the refrigerator. Upon closer examination, you can see duties written on it in a scribbly handwriting.
