Personality: Yeesha has a very strong personality, something that seems to get her into more trouble than she'd like. Very independent, she has no trouble going off on her own to do what she feels she has to do. People who try to stop her will find themselves either swatted with her tail or have something thrown at them. Her respect for adults or authority is close to none, and the only time she tends to listen to people is when they interest her. That, or when they seem to be able to outsmart her. She is the type to do things simply because someone says she's brave, or taking dares because she doesn’t want to be seen as a chicken. Her bravery is something she is very concerned with, and she doesn't take lightly to being insulted.
The alligator girl has no problems talking to anyone who sits next to her, and thus she is seen as fairly friendly. It's more of an outspoken type of friendship, but for those who have managed to win her interest she has proved to be a good friend. She remembers well those who have been good to her and rewards them with her loyalty. By that measure, she also remembers those who have hurt her feelings or been mean to her. Yeesha can hold a grudge forever, and she refuses to forgive those who treat her poorly (even if she started it) unless a sufficient apology is given. She is known to have a very nasty temper when provoked, not to mention she can get extremely grumpy when she doesn't get her way.
For those who are a little bit on the shy, quiet side, Yeesha is definitely a good friend to have. She's loud, spunky and very pushy, but if you don't mind being bossed around a little then she's the girl for you. The alligator girl has no problems standing up for her quieter friends, especially if they are being bullied. Her friends are hers to drag around. Nobody else is allowed to do that to them. Most of Yeesha's rules simply apply to those around her but not to herself, but so far that hasn't caused her too much trouble. Despite her rather interesting temperament, Yeesha does have a good heart and she means well. Most of the time.

Environment: Like to set up damp, grotesque rotting swamps. Collecting meat, and then letting it rot within their swamp waters, adding a fowl oder to the air. Due to the fact they can actually breath underwater they usually just lay down at the edge of their marsh and wallow. Because of their environment, they usually smell of rotting vegetation and foul water.
Fighting style: Taking advantage of their dark coloring they like to sink down into the marsh or bog that they've taken residence in, and ambush whomever crosses their path, then resubmerging back out of sight to ambush again... and again. Usually they'll keep themselves hidden, and when outmatched or fairing poorly, they'll retreat into the air and leave little to no trail to take hide in the next spot they can find (whether it be trees or another marsh.)

Distinguishing Features: Multiple eyes on his face, arms, backs of his hands, and god knows where else; strangely shaped ears; multiple piercings; goatee
Abilities: Able to process and understand information that comes in from all of his eyes without getting a headache
Personality: Jasper is an interesting fellow to say the least. He comes off as quite self-confident despite his rather strange looks, never shying away from conversation or introductions. Gaia, he feels, is home to many creatures who look far more strange than he does, so why should he be concerned about his looks? People will judge him as they see fit and he will not go out of his way to try and manipulate their judgments. He will take the good and the bad, so long as nobody ruins the seats of his beloved taxi. It's his life work and he would like it to stay in once piece, thank you very much.
As a taxi driver, one would expect him to be very aggressive, what with having to force his way through traffic every day. Jasper, however, is a very relaxed young man and never seems to be in a rush to go anywhere. He's definitely forward in that he has no trouble taking his right of way or starting a conversation with a sad looking chap in the back seat, but he doesn't go out of his way to make other people's lives miserable. He gets paid by the distance not the time after all, so why should he worry? Besides, the taxi can fly if he needed to go somewhere immediately.
Those who see him outside his place of work find him to have a very good sense of humour and an appreciation of wit. He loves jokes, and while pranks don't really run up his ally, if the prank is cleverly executed he will definitely reward those who have taken the time to think it up. Jasper has his own cheekiness with shines through when people do not give him direct requests, thus allowing him to interpret what they want however he pleases. Though rather mischievous, he does not with anybody harm, and would be very upset if anyone close to him took serious offense to him.

Layla Dawson – Jasper's elder sister. She was the first from the Dawson group to migrate to Gaia where she took a job in a local tea shop. Eventually she took over the place and now runs it with the aid of her two adopted children (a normal Gaian custom, as she has explained to her brother). Very laid back, she shares her brother's sense of humour, though she does have a bit more drive than he does.
Felix Dawson – One of Layla's adopted children and the younger shifter. He takes the form of a crabeater seal when he changes. Temperamental, combative, Felix is notoriously aggressive especially with Sheba (who seems to enjoy tormenting him). He had no trouble throwing his weight around, especially when defending his 'territory.' Currently a high school student, he spends his free time working at a diving shop selling equipment for 'pale-skinned' swimmers.
Sheba Dawson – The second adopted child of Layla and the older shifter. She takes the form of a Stellar sea lion when she changes. She has quite the mouth on her, her wise-a** remarks often sparking the temper of her younger brother. Sheba is not only loud and pushy, but also incredibly stubborn. Determined to get her way no matter what it takes, she rarely backs down from a fight especially with her brother. She frequently teaches swimming lessons at a local pool.

  Jasper lives in a small, two-story house in Barton. The garage, mud room, entrance way, bathroom and a small closet for coats are on the ground floor. A staircase from the entrance way leads upstairs to the kitchen, sitting room and the bedrooms. The laundry room is also upstairs. Both the backyard and the front yard are small, but Jasper has managed to squeeze a small kiddie pool in the back for Yeesha. The household owns two cars: a yellow taxi for business and a small black car for when Jasper is off-duty.

 The American Alligator, Alligator mississippiensis, (known colloquially as simply gator) is one of the two living species of Alligator, a genus within the family Alligatoridae. The American Alligator is only native to the Southeastern United States, where it inhabits wetlands that frequently overlap with human-populated areas. It is larger than the other extant alligator species, the Chinese Alligator.
Anatomy
The American Alligator has a large, slightly rounded body, with thick limbs, a broad head, and a very powerful tail. They generally have a olive brown, gray or nearly black color with a creamy white underside. Algae-laden waters produce greener skin, while tannic acid from overhanging trees can produce often darker skin.[citation needed] Adult male alligators are typically 13 to 14.7 feet long (3.96 to 4.48 meters), while adult females average 9.8 feet (2.99 meters). Male alligators may grow to 454.5 kg (1000 lb) and females can grow to 72 kg (160 lbs). One American Alligator allegedly reached a length of 19 feet, 2 inches (5.8 meters), which would make it the largest recorded.
The tail, which accounts for half of the alligator's total length, is primarily used for aquatic propulsion. The tail can also be used as a weapon of defense when an alligator feels threatened. Alligators travel very quickly in water, are generally slow-moving on land and can lunge short distances very quickly. They have five claws on each front foot and four on each rear foot. Discovery Channel's Animal Face Off team estimated a fully grown gator's bite force at 3000lbf and as part of a National Geographic Special, Greg Erickson of Florida State University, Kent Vliet of the University of Florida and Kristopher Lapping of Northern Arizona University provoked American alligators, at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park in Florida, into biting a bar studded with piezoelectric sensors. The largest alligator they tested was able to exert a force of 9.45 kN (2,125 lbf).
Habitat
Alligators are mostly found in the Southeastern United States, from Merchants Millpond State Park in North Carolina south to Everglades National Park in Florida and west to the southern tip of Texas. They are also found in the U.S. states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma.
Alligators live in wetlands, and this is the vital habitat that holds the key to their continued long-term survival. Alligators depend on the wetlands, and in some ways the wetlands depend on them. As apex predators, they help control the population of rodents and other animals that might overtax the marshland vegetation.
American alligators are less susceptible to cold than American crocodiles. Unlike the American crocodile which would quickly succumb and drown in water of 7.2 degrees, an alligator can survive in such temperatures for some time without apparent discomfort[citation needed]. It is thought that this adaptiveness is the reason why American alligators spread farther north than the American crocodile. In fact, the American alligator is the most northernly distributed of all crocodilians and the one most equipped to deal with cooler conditions.
Diet
Alligators eat fish, birds, turtles, snakes, mammals and amphibians. Hatchlings however are restricted to smaller prey items like invertebrates. Insects and larvae, snails, spiders and worms make-up a big portion of a hatchling's diet. They will also eat small fish at any opportunity. As they grow, they gradually move onto larger fish, mollusks, frogs and small mammals like rats and mice. Sub adult alligators take a larger variety of prey; ranging from a snake or turtle to a bird and moderate sized mammals like a raccoon.
Once an alligator reaches adulthood, any animal living in the water or coming to water to drink is potential prey. Adult alligators will eat a razorback, a deer, domestic animals including cattle and sheep, and are often known to kill and eat smaller alligators. In rare instances, large male alligators have been known to take down a Florida panther and an American black bear, making the American alligator the apex predator throughout its distribution. The American alligator is known as King of the Everglades.
The stomachs of alligators often contain gastroliths. The function of these stones is to grind up food in the stomach and help with digestion. This is important because gators swallow their food whole. These gastroliths are also used in buoyancy control.
In 2002, the bite force on a 12 foot alligator was measured to be about 2100 pounds.
