Orpheus looked over the file that he'd been given for today and his dual colored eyes went rather wide as he saw the names on the file, "Yeesha?" He murmured out loud then grew even more surprised when he saw the name of the parent.. it wasn't Hennet anymore? She'd been readopted? He knew that it happened, he'd had one boy in a class who was on his fourth set of parents but this hit a little closer to home since Hennet had been a friend and fellow teacher.
He wondered how Yeesha was handling things, he thought back on the last class that he had with her, and then shook his head as he read over the file. Another skill class, maybe to get her back into the swing of classes. She had been away for a while due to the sickness she'd come down with.
He went to fetch his book of animals to look it over, looking for a skill he could teach her before giving a smile, "Hmmm. That sounds fun." He thought before he went to fetch his swimming shorts, they would work on her water lunges. Sounded fun, something that had to due with swimming which he knew that she could do from his last class with her so she would feel in her element.
He quickly moved to changing and setting up the class, sinking some water noodles in the shallow end of the pool. They stood straight up in the water and were brightly colored so they would make good targets for her lunges.

"Thwimming thwimming in my thwimming pooool~" Yeesha sung happily as she bounced along beside Jasper. It seemed like ages since she'd been here at the D-Corp headquarters, and perhaps even longer she'd been to class. The scale rot had really put her behind. Still, the alligator girl was glad to be back, especially if she was going to be learning something that involved water. Jasper didn't let her swim as much as she would have liked, despite the fact that she told him on numerous occasions that she wanted a pool. He had, however, bought her a nice new bathing suit, so for the moment he was forgiven.
Upon arriving at the pool, Yeesha's grin widened. Look at all those things in the water! They were definitely going to do something interesting today! "Mithter Orpheus!" She called, waving at her teacher as she and Jasper made their way towards him. "Mithter Orpheus, this is Jathper. Jathper, Mithter Orpheus."
Her guardian smiled at her introduction, several of his eyes moving to look at the pool. Water skills? Interesting. Looked like it would be fun for Yeesha. His main eyes, however, remained focused on Orpheus. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Orpheus did his best not to stare at the man standing in front of him. While he was used to seeing interesting people due to the many children he taught the man in front of him was interesting in a different way. He forced himself to blink and then smile, his attention going to Yeesha, "Welcome back Yeesha." He said, giving a smile.
"We are going to be working on another of your skills today called Water Lunges." He explained, pointing to the pool, "The water noodles with be the targets for you to tag."
He looked over at Jasper, "It is nice to meet you as well. Your welcome to stay if you like or in case you have errands to run or the like you can leave her here and come back to pick her up later." Either was fine by him, he just liked to give the parents of the younger kids the option.

The alligator grinned broadly at the welcome, quite pleased to be back. There was nothing better than swimming, and if she got to practice some cool new skill then that was an added bonus! She turned her attention to the pool when Orpheus explained what they were going to do, nodding along as he spoke. Water lunges. That sounded awesome! She slid her jacket off when Orpheus started talking to Jasper, revealing her bright green bathing suit. Yeesha rather liked how bright it was. She held out her jacket to Jasper, eager to get started.
Jasper reached out to take the jacket from his young charge, turning his attention to her. "You want me to stay and watch you kid?" He had taken the day off in case of such an event, leaving his taxi at home and locked in the garage. It made him a little nervous to leave it there knowing who was home alone, but what could he do? Yeesha had classes to do.
"Thtay!" She commanded, before turning her attention back to Orpheus. "Okay, I'm ready Mr. Orpheus!" It was time for water lunges!

He gave a smile, nodding as he walked over to the pool, "Lets go then." He set his pen and clipboard of notes carefully away from the edge of the pool as he knew the girl would no doubt be splashing quiet a bit and he hopped into the pool.
"Once you get in you can get used to the water, swim around a bit, and then we will start." He told Yeesha.

The moment the word "go" was out of Orpheus' mouth, Yeesha did cannonball into the water with an excited squeal. It felt so good to be back! She had to remember to keep from grinning underwater, not wanting to swallow any of the liquid while she was swimming. Pool water never tasted good. Unable to swim for very long underwater, the alligator girl returned to the surface to breathe. Breath taken, she paddled about with just her eyes and nose above the water, looking very much like the creature she shared DNA with.
Swimming was never a problem for her, and Yeesha used her warm up time to just enjoy the water. Not too hot and not too cold, it was just right. The alligator girl did several laps before returning to where Orpheus sat. "Kay! All ready!"

Orpheus smiled as he watched Yeesha as she got used to the water, one she was ready he gave a smile, "Alright, the skill we are working on today will involve a lot of use of your tail." He said as he motioned to one of the targets, "You will use it to help you gain a momentary burst of speed which will cause you to lunge forward."
He gave her a smile, "If you want to just practice that to begin with can leave the actual tagging until later in the class. Best to figure out how to lunge before you try to aim your lunges."

Yeesha listened raptly as Orpheus explained what she was to do, eyes moving between him and the targets. So she was supposed to use her tail to lunge out of the water? Hmm... it sounded a little bit complicated but definitely worth the effort. It would really help her when she wanted to play Lake Monster!
Deciding to avoid the targets for now, the alligator girl swam a circle before swooshing her tail through the water. The swoosh made her body move forward, but not enough that she felt proud of the movement. Perhaps she had to do it faster. In the next circle she gave her tail a big, fast swoosh and shot herself forward in the water. She hadn't been expecting that one, and came up spitting out a mouthful of water. Ew. "Wath that right?"

Orpheus watched the girl as she circled him before giving a bit of a laugh. He couldn't help but think about what might happen were he in such a situation with a full blooded alligator...
"Looking really good." He told her when she came up out of the water, she'd done a few weaker lunges followed by the really good one. He was glad that the water in the pools of D-Corp were kept fresh when he saw her spitting water, "The last one looked especially good, I think you have the hang of it."
He walked over to one of the many different targets and tapped it. It was the brightest color and the widest of the water noodles, "How about you try this one first. Its the biggest target and the one you should be able to see easiest under the water."

The alligator girl grinned broadly up at Orpheus when he praised her, glad that she had at least done the last one right. That one had felt really good! Aside from the part when she had swallowed the bit of water, of course. She would remember to keep her mouth shut when she did it again. Yeesha turned her attentions to her targets when Orpheus pointed them out, and nodded her head. Go for the biggest and the brightest target. Got it.
With a look of deep concentration on her face, Yeesha sunk down in the water until just her eyes and nose were visible. She did as she had the last few times, swimming a circle before turning her attention to the target. Mouth closed, she narrowed her eyes and gave a swoosh with her tail. The alligator girl was quite surprised when she lunged out of the water, and grabbed onto the noodle tightly for support. She hit the water with a splash, going under again with the noodle in her clutches. Yeesha gave a triumphant yell when she surfaced, still holding onto the noodle. "I got it! I got it!"

Orpheus's eyes went wide as the girl launched forward, leaving the water and caught hold of her target. He started to laugh when she resurfaced and then started to clap, "That was great!" He said, quite impressed by her moment of out of water flight, "Good job Yeesha."
He looked through the other water noodles and then motioned to another of them, one that's size was halfway between the one she tackled and the smallest of them, "Alright, this one next." He told her then pointed to a small, blue one that would be the hardest to tag since it was smaller and blended in with the water color to some extent, "And then this blue one."
He was sure that if she could tag this one and one of the smaller ones that he would be able to pass her.

The alligator girl practically soaked up the praise that Orpheus was giving her. She did it! And she did a good job! Even Jasper was clapping! She took a moment to wave excitedly at her new guardian, before she focused her attention back on her teacher. "It wath fun! I liked it!" She exclaimed, quite pleased with herself. She had done a water lunge! Not to mention she had made her teacher and her guardian proud. It was very exciting.
Yeesha turned her attention back to the targets when Orpheus pointed them out. "That one and then that one. Okee dokee!" She had to close her mouth to go back underwater, but she continued to grin inwardly. This water lunging was the most fun she'd had in a while. The mid-sized one was a little bit more challenging – Yeesha nearly missed it when she lunged – but she managed to grab hold of it on the way down and pull it down with her. And then it was on to the smaller one.
She swished her tail underwater thoughtfully as she studied the blue target, yellow eyes narrowed. It was rather small, and she wasn't sure she could hit it the first time. But she would have to try! Like a little gator she "stalked" her prey before lunging out of the water at it. When she surfaced again, she sputtered, a little disoriented. "Where ith it?"

Orpheus cheered the girl on as she set back to her swimming taking out the second target as well as she had taken out the first one. He gave her a smile and then watched closely as she moved through the water preparing the 'attack' the third and final target.
He gave her a smile after she resurfaced from her attempted attack, "You were really close, its the color I think that makes this one hard to spot." He said to her, tapping the target for her so she could see how close she had come to it, "Your doing really well, would you like to try for this one again?"

Yeesha made a face when Orpheus said she was only really close. Darn! She had missed it! Still, Jasper clapped for her, and that made her feel better. She would get that target next time! It would not evade the skilful lunges of the great Lake Monster. The colour of it was definitely a challenge. She could hardly tell the blue of the water from the blue of the noodle. The alligator girl, however, was not going to give up that easily. "I'm gonna try again!"
With her declaration she started swimming again, eyes on her small, elusive target. Just think like a predator, she told herself. Think like a Lake Monster. Yeesha grinned under water as she circled, before lunging straight at the blue noodle. She caught the end with her hands and landed, splashing water once again. This time she was victorious and she emerged with a whoop. "I did it! Did you thee? I diiiiiiiid it!"

Orpheus gave a smile and clapped when Yeesha took down her target this time with ease, "Excellent!" He said, quite impressed, especially with how eager she had been to try again, how careful she'd been the second time around to make sure that she was right on target, "You have the skill down now, able to hit various sized and colored targets, and your aim is really good."
He gave her a smile, "From here on its mostly just practice on your part to perfect your lunges, you can come back any time you like to practice here unless you have a pool at home. For now though you have passed the class and are allowed to go."
