Solo Roleplay || Mtima'safi, Adult || Wahabu, Cub || Mother and Daughter

Roleplay transcribed from AIM.

Summary: Kilango wakes her mother up during naptime, never having fallen asleep. They go outside, where Kilango kills a lizard, almost eats it, is generally rude and threatening about her brother- all of which makes Mtima, who is doing her best to ignore her ability to see souls, very unhappy. When Kilango goes back to the den, she stops to threaten Wahabu before going to a far corner to nap.

-------------------------------------------------

It was the afternoon, and little cubbies were awaking from their midday naps. Although, one little female boycotted, and did not sleep at all. Kilango sprawled across the floor in a mad rage, throwing a fit. She hated naps so much. What was the point of them? Resting more so they can get more rest later to rest? It just didn't add up. She snorted, and darted over to her mother, Mtima'safi -- to awake her.

She leaped onto her back, and nipped into the lioness' fur with her small, sharp teeth. She even managed to pull a few pieces out in the couple of seconds. "Wake up, stupid. Its time to get up!" The blue cub jumped up and down, grinning. This was just all too fun for her.

Wahabu was sleeping peacefully in the den, and Mtima was dozing lightly there with both of her cubs. She was aware of the fact that her daughter was not asleep, though she was ignorant to the rage it was causing the small one. Still determined to set an example, she let herself drift sleepily- until just when the cub leapt onto her back. Her eyes snapped open at the feeling of little teeth in her fur, her ears flicked back and her head lifted.

"I'm awake," she said, turning her head to smile at Kilango. It pained the goddess that Kilango would treat her mother like that, it pained her to be able to see the soul in the beautiful blue body. Still, she tried her best to give the benefit of the doubt. "Darling, it's not nice to call your mother, or anyone, stupid," Mtima chided gently, staying where she was so as not to upset the cub jumping on her back.

Kilango snorted, and then got off Mtima'safi's back. "Peh. Whatever. I can call anyone whatever I want to. No one will tell me what to do!" She let out a childish growl, that was raspy and weak. As she stood beside her mother, she glared and ran out of the den. "Stupid." She screeched as she fled from the rest of the family.

As she entered the outside world, she padded into the distance, coming to a small tree. Spotting a critter among it's ground crevice, she extended a paw, batting at the defenseless reptile. It amused her so easily. Even after she had killed it into shock. She just idly peered down to it momentarily, before returning her excitment of batting at the dead lizard corpse.

Mtima stood up when Kilango hopped off her back, stretching out. "Kilango," she warned, shaking her head when the cub argued with her and ran off with another rude screech. Before following Kilango out of the den, she glanced sheepishly around the den as if apologizing. She walked out of the den, taking a moment to look up at the sky and appreciate the day- until she caught sight of Kilango batting at something, something most definetely alive. It was nice to see that she could enjoy simple things, as cubs might, though Mtima had no idea what kind of turn this playing would take.

"What are you doing?" she asked, heading towards Kilango. The question barely left her lips before she saw the hidden life disappear, and she stopped walking. She hesitated, biting her lip, but then stepped on, catching up to Kilango and peeking over her to see the lizard's body.

"What does it look like i'm doing, mother? I'm playing with this lizard. DUH." She rolled her eyes, and then threw the lizard behind her, as it landed infront of the goddess. Kilango paused, and peered behind her, stirring up a growl. "Hey! Thats mine!" She raced over to Mtima and then bit her leg, as she grabbed the dead reptile and sped off once again. She was out of control. She placed the lizard in her mouth, and sat down, as she began to chew on it.

Once the taste was dissatisfying, she spat it out, guts all over the ground. "Eww. And Wahabu told me lizards were delicious! What a liar! I'm going to hurt him later." She narrowed her eyes, and stared into the distance for a moment. "What a lie. The Pridelands my a**. This place is too ... ... nice."

Mtima took a seat, assuming a motherly pose, though it was clearly an unhappy one. "Tone, Kilango," she scolded, and gave Kilango a small smile, wondering what on earth she could say to get through to her girl. Part of her was ignoring the soul she saw, and so she merely smiled and batted at Kilango when she came to fetch the lizard once again. She found some comfort in Kilango's attempt to eat the lizard, at least that meant that she wasn't killing needlessly. Even when she spat the lizard bits out, she felt it was better than leaving it untouched.

"No, you're not going to hurt your brother, Kilango," she spoke up again, her tone quite serious now, "Tastes vary, he might like it even if you don't." Mtima was surprised at the cubs harsh words about the Pridelands, turning her eyes to the distant Pride Rock. She loved it here, she'd never have thought it 'too nice.'

Kilango muttered to herself under her breath, as she padded alongside her mother, brushing up against her. "If you say so, mother ... ... " Her voice sounded sinister, and menacing. As she passed the female, she looked back, glaring at the yellow goddess -- plotting about her. She flicked her tail in anger, swatting at a fly. It was struck, and darted quickly, landing on Mtima's paw.

"I'll be at home. Doing my own thing. Don't bother me. Ever." She bared her teeth, and ran back to the opening of the den, enraged. As she emerged in, she extended what little claws she had, and held them at the snoozing Wahabu's throat. A grin swiped her maw. "You will obey me at all times, or your time will pass, weakling."

Mtima let herself be comforted by the almost affectionate action of willinging brushing sides. She didn't like the tone of voice, but tried to have some confidence in the words she used. Her eyes followed the cub as she started heading back towards the den, watching the fly get swatted and come in her direction. The small insect didn't bother her a bit, and she merely looked down at it. Her eyes were drawn upwards again when Kilango left with threatening words.

She'd have to talk to Kiza about her. Mtima sighed and lifted the paw with the fly on it up, giving it a gentle shake and watching the fly go off.
|

Back in the den, Wahabu was curled up comfortably against the wall, dreaming happy but strange dreams. Whatever he could see of the times, he didn't see his sister coming. He started awake with a squeak when he felt something brush against his throat and heard a familar, menacing voice.

"Wha-?" he murmured sleepily, leaning back at the sight of his sister.

She growled lightly, and then took her extended paw away from his neck. "Shut up, pitiful brother of mine." She spat into his face, and then fleed to the farthest corner in the den, curling herself into a tired ball. "Naptime is for stupid heads." A yawn rolled out of her mouth as she flopped onto her side. Using all that energy back there had really slowed her down. Of course, a short nap would do the trick -- it always did. She just hated taking naps when everyone else did.

Wahabu was looking at Kilango with wide, confused eyes when she growled at him. He had to wonder why his sister was so mean to him, he never did anything to her! His gaze followed her the whole way to the far corner of the den, and he heard her mumble about naps being for stupid heads. A short laugh escaped him before he could stop it, but before she could do anything about him laughing he got up and scrambled out of the den to find something more fun to do. If Kilango couldn't find him, she couldn't threaten him.

Roleplay, AIM || Wahabu, Cub || Wabibu's Bibi

Roleplay transcribed from AIM.

Summary: While out trying to find someone to play with, Wahabu finds his grandmother, Miamba, and strikes up a conversation with her. She explains the Circle of Life and aging to the cub, but they're lost concepts on him. He, instead, insists that she is not old and that they will stay the way they are forever.

-------------------------------------------------

It was late in the afternoon, and quite sunny out. The weather didn't bother Wahabu, who seemed to be without limit on the energy he had to use. He was even making a game out of trying to sneak into the den, trying to find someone to play with- he knew it'd be no use going to Kilango, and she was in fact why he was trying to be sneaky. If he avoided her, she wouldn't try to boss him around or hurt him. He was a quick learner, self preservation was not a hard thing to learn. Humming to himself quietly, he peeked into the shadowy den. Glancing behind him and grinning widely, he darted in as quietly as his feet could take him (which, of course, was rather noisy.)

Miamba was no where near the den, as she had gone out midday hunting, by herself. She didn't catch much, but she caught just what she needed, and not a pound more. The old lioness had made her way back to her home, alone. Her shoulders were slouched, and her motions were slow-paced. As she approached the den, she spotted a figure luming about within the perimeter. "Who is in there?" Her vision was not what it used to be, so the sillohette was blurred slightly. "Come out, whoever you are."

Wahabu found himself standing in an empty den, looking around with a stunned expression. There was no one here! He almost laughed at how he'd been trying to sneak around, hiding from no one. He was busy making faces at the wall when he heard familier footsteps outside the den, and then a voice call out. With a grin, he turned around immediately to get a look, just to be sure. He jogged back out to Miamba at once

"It's me," he answered vaguely. His grandmother would know who he was, there was no need to state the obvious. The cub didn't notice her slouching or slow pace, this was how he'd always known her. Sure, he could see she wasn't quite like his mum or dad, but it was just how she was! Just like he wasn't like mum or dad or Kilango.

"Ah, theres my grandson!" She extended a loving paw, as she came to give him a hug. "Waha ... ... bi, is it?" She cocked her head to one side, slightly confused for a moment. All these new cubs, all these new names. It was truely becoming hard to recall and remember them all. Atleast she hadn't called Wahabu a girl name yet, like Siku, Maziwa, or Kilango. She smiled, and then let go of him. Miamba padded off a few feet in the distance, as she sat down. She knew the little cub would follow her, no matter what. He was more loyal than Kilango, that was for sure. "So, how has my Wabibu been doing?" Her maw lit up with happiness, as she spoke silently to the little yellow furball.

"That's right!" he exclaimed, running right into Miamba's leg and nuzzling against her to return the hug. He laughed at her mistake of his name, shaking his head, "No, bibi. It's Wahabu, but you can call me whatever you want to." He assumed a proud, puffed up stance when he said this, unable to hold it for long before wheezing out the excess air and following after Miamba as she moved and sat a short ways away. The cub skipped after her, calming down enough to talk with her. Something about his grandmother just made him happy.

"I've been doing good! I went for a walk today, I thought I was lost but I really wasn't," he explained in a quick, long sentence, "What about you, bibi?"

Miamba smiled, and nodded. "I went hunting, for food. I really felt bad for the animal, but it had to be done. Thats how the circle of life works, i'm afraid." She looked down, somewhat sad for the poor creature. Enlightened by her grandson's words, she smiled once again. "Ah, went for a walk today? Well, thats a good way to start off anyday. I wish I was able to do that again." She looked about, admiring the view.

"Circle of life?" Wahabu repeated, picking out the only words she said he really didn't understand, "What's that?" His head tilted curiously at his grandmother, hoping she would provide an explanation. Though he didn't know it, she was the most likely one to be able to explain any such belief to him. He frowned when she commented on not being able to just go for a walk, "Why can't you, bibi? You walked when you hunted." He didn't like the idea of Miamba not being able to do something, it was confusing.

"Yes, the Circle of Life, Wahabu." She nodded, and went on to explain it all. "You see, all the animals in the area are commonly linked to one another. Like we eat the antelope, but when we die -- our bodies decompose, and become the grass they eat. Its somewhat hard to understand with such a small cub, but as you grow, you'll learn to understand this." She noogied him on the forehead lightly, chuckling. "Well, dear, its hard to explain. I'm old. Its what happens as you age."

Wahabu listened intently as Miamba tried to explain the Circle of Life to him, finding it to be quite confusing. He didn't understand what decompose meant, or how it meant they turn into grass, but he understood the main concept- that they feed the antelope that feed them. It was a circle, just like it's name. He was drawn from his thinking by the noogie, which caused him to grin. What she explained next got a squinty look out of the cub, though.

"You're not old, bibi!" he said insistantly, "You're just.. um.. not old." He nodded and smiled at her, rubbing affectionately against her leg again.

Miamba shook her head no. Although Wahabu didn't know his grandmother in her younger times, and she knew it was hard for him to grasp the concept. "Unfortunatly, I am old, Wahabu. Everyone ages. It's what happens to us all." She clung to the cub, as he rubbed against her leg. She really hated to even admit she was old to him, since she usually told herself she was still young, regardless of the fact that her limbs were weak and she limped. "Its alright, grandson. You'll understand the meaning of old someday, when you become old."

The whole conversation had suddenly taken a bad turn, and Wahabu didn't like it. Bibi was not old, and if she was old now how old would she be when he was old? It was unimaginable, if you get slower when you age, it wouldn't be good. Maybe you age slower when you get old, then she wouldn't be so old. He frowned and leaned against Miamba, "I don't want you to be old, I don't want to be old. We'll stay this way forever, can't we do that?"

She could tell from the looks in his eyes that he wasn't liking this one bit at all. She smiled, and than came closer to him. "Of course we can, Wahabu. I'll stay like this forever -- just for you."

"Good," he murmured, tilting his head up to smile at her, "I'd like that a lot." Wahabu licked upwards, unable to reach her so he only succeeded in licking his nose, but he'd tried. With that settled, he let his mind go elsewhere- his eyes went to the den, and then back to Miamba, "Do you know where everyone went?"

"Unfortunatly, I don't know. I know Kizamaji had run off with Mtima'safi. And thats where you and Kilango come in. My two daughters and mate have disappeared, leaving me all alone." She shrugged. "I'm hoping to rediscover a new mate, to help me through my time of need. Although, only time will tell if that happens." She got up off her spot, and trailed back slowly to the den.

Wahabu blinked as she explained everyone's whereabouts, losing her on the word mate but quite surprised to hear about two daughters. He knew that word, Kilango was a daughter, just like he was a son. He stayed where he was when Miamba got up and started back to the den, hesitating. Then he suddenly got to his feet and jogged after her happily, "I can help you, Bibi. I want to help!" He caught up to her quickly and then slowed down to stay at her side. He had no idea what kind of help she wanted, but he would help if he could.

"No, no dear. I'm fine, I assure you. I need help from an adult lion." She went halfway into her den, and then looked back. "Why don't you run along and go tell your mother and father to come over later? Maybe we can all hunt together and celebrate? How about that?" She smiled, as her ears perked. She would love to see her son, and her mate once again. Although, she wasn't too sure about their other little one, Kilango. She was troublesome. She shruged, and padded slowly off into her den, for a few hours of some peace and silence. How relaxing, that would be.

"Ok," Wahabu sighed at his grandmother's assurance, he would help if he could. He stopped outside the den and watched her until she turned and told him to invite his folks over, and he immediately brightened back up. With an enthusiastic nod, he did a quick circle, "Ok! I'll tell them, bibi." The cub gave her a farewell grin and then turned and jogged off- he'd have to find out where everyone went. Maybe he'd overlooked them on his way here.
