The day was bright and hot, but that wasn't going to stop one young Pridelander from looking for some fun. Wahabu was out and about, leaping through the long grass in search of something to do. His search had not gone so well thus far, so he had taken to chasing any insects he came by. If he happened to run into someone, all the better, but practicing catching bugs was pretty fun too.
His current target was a small blue butterfly, and he was making no effort to be stealthy. The yellow cub was merely chasing it around with no chance of catching it, which was something he was ok doing. He wasn't in the mood to be patient with it at the moment.

Jurawa bounded quickly away from the den she shared with her mother. If she was caught, she'd get brought back home, and the only thing she wanted today was an adventure. A strange smell passed her nostrils and she wrinkled up her nose, stopping for a moment and then dashing behind a large rock, crawling up it a little and peering over it's edge. She knew that the scent belonged to another lion, though it still smelled strange. It smelled.....so pure. She shook her head as she finally spotted the other cub, and then smacked herself mentally for not seeing the bright yellow male before now.
Grinning widely to herself, she noticed that it was chasing a small blue butterfly. With a little giggle, the tiny red cub launched herself off the rock and closed her paws around the other cub's target. Falling to the ground softly, she let it drop into the grass, then looked down, examining it carefully. "Hmmph." She snorted, "it's not even shiny." She finished, wrinkling up her nose again and then looking up at the bright yellow cub. "You can have it back." She said quietly, smirking and flicking her tail.

Wahabu was oblivious to his audience, to any smells or sounds that came with her. His full attention was on the butterfly. This really wasn't a good way to watch out for someone to play with, but as luck would have it someone made themselves known. He was in the middle of a jump when the strange cub jumped out infront of him, and his first reaction was to miss her, to swerve.
And swerve he did, though awkwardly. The cub went flying to the side, doing an awkwardly angled sommersault as he did. When he stopped, he wasted no time laying on the ground and righted himself to see who'd ambushed his hunt- and found just before she spoke.
"It's ok," he replied, tilting his head at her. Wahabu didn't want the butterfly back, "Who're you?"

Jura sneered at the smaller yellow cub for a moment, then grinned evilly. "Jurawa. It means Sparrow. And I'm better than you." She said rather rudely, looking down her muzzle at him. "It sure takes a lot of stupid to fall like that." She giggled, swishing her tail and then reclining to her haunches before him. "And who....are you exactly?" She inquired, quirking a brow and smirking at him again. She didn't normally like to play with other cubs, and she wasn't normally nice to males. Although Jura wasn't one to be rude to other females, she didn't mind them, it was just that the only male she'd ever been nice to had ended up being a huge jerk, and she hadn't ever been nice to them since.

Wahabu's eyes widened a bit when she sneered, and them grinned evilly. Were all girls like this? His sister sure was, but a lot worse- so far, anyway. At least she had not used her claws on him. He wasn't about to argue with her, or tell her next time he's just fly headlong into her instead of missing her, even though part of him wanted to.
"I'm Wahabu," he introduced himself, "And you're very good at catching butterflies." He figured a compliment couldn't hurt- he could guage her reaction and decide how careful he had to be.

The tiny red lioness quirked a brow at him. "I know I am. But thanks....I guess." She said, grinning a little and flicking her tail again impatiently. "So....you know where I can find shinies 'round here?" Jurawa questioned the smaller cub. After all, the only reason she caught butterflies was because some of the were shiny. She had been incredibly disappointed to discover that this one wasn't shiny in the least bit. "I'm not really interested in playing or anything, I don't play with boys, but if you have shinies, I'd gladly accept them as gifts for gracing you with my presence." She said, not realising how self-absorbed she sounded. To herself, it seemed only reasonable for him to offer her gifts, she was a beautiful lionss after all. And with that thought, she puffed the soft fur on her chest and glanced down at him regally.

Harmless.
That's what Wahabu decided about this little lioness. She seemed overall self-absorbed, but harmless. This was a pleasant decision for him the come to, for it helped him to relax. She wasn't like his sister- she'd bothered to say thank you.
"Shinies?" he questioned, looking thoughtful, "My mama wears these shiny things around her head and on her head.." The cub trailed off, as if considering ways to obtain these items. He quickly shrugged it off, "I don't know what else. Why don't you play with boys?" He had no idea why one would favor one gender over the other, at the moment the male had no inclination whatsoever to think girls were icky, or some such childish lines of thought.

"Hmmm? Really? Can I have them?" She questioned the smaller cub, grinning at him wickedly. "I...don't play with boys, because they're smelly, and mean." She sneered, flicking her little tail and looking away from him. "And STUPID." She said, putting peticular emphasis on the word stupid, grinning to herself. "But I guess if you tried not to be stupid, I could play with you....for a little while...." She trailed off, turning back to him and looking down at him as though she were some sort of queen. "But you HAVE to promise." She said sternly, wrinkling her nose at him, then flicking her tail again and then pouncing him and keeping him pinned against the ground for a moment. "Okay?" She inquired before leaping away, and taking a few steps away from him, then spinning around and giggling at him, still laying on his back in the dirt.

"I don't know, they're mama's," he replied thoughtfully, "She'd probably want to keep them." Wahabu nodded matter-of-factly, and listened carefully to her explanation of why she doesn't play with boys. When she said smelly, he couldn't help but lean down a bit and sniff- he couldn't tell if he was smelly or not, he just smelled like.. Wahabu. He blinked when she went on to say mean and stupid. He certainly felt he was not mean, if anything Jurawa was being mean by saying things like that. Stupid was another one he wasn't sure of. He may not know a lot, but he's a cub..
"I promise not to be stupid," he blinked at her, wondering if she'd be much fun to play with even if he agreed to be smart. It at least looked like she was making an effort, so he got to his feet and shook the dirt from his fur, even daring to smile a bit.

Jurawa frowned at him again. "Fine. I bet they're stupid shinies anyways." She snorted, flicking her tail again and sitting. "Well, you did promise, so I guess we can play now." She said, flicking her ears and scoffing quietly. "Do you even know any games?" The little red lioness inquired rudely, assuming that maybe he was just saying he wanted to play, because she wanted to play. Maybe he really didn't know any games at all. That sure would've been unfortunate. "Because if you don't.....I'll just leave you and go back to my home." She added, sneering at him again and flicking her dark tail for a second time.

Wahabu watched Jurawa carefully, frowning his way through the scoffs, sneers and less-than-flattering comments that she made to him. Her question about games made him a bit anxious, but he forced it away. If he couldn't think of games she liked, she might not stay and play- but if she did leave because of that, was it really worth playing?
"Of course I know games," he said confidently, aiming not to sound stupid- just like he promised, "But I don't know what ones you would like. Do you like hide and seek?"

The tiny red lioness grinned at him for a moment and then flicked her tail happily. "Nobody's ever asked me what I wanna play before...I always just end up playing whatever they want to. You know....I think I'm starting to like ya." She giggled, moving a little closer to him and thens itting again. "I don't really like hide and seek, it would seem I always end up wandering too far...and my sense of smell really isn't too great." She admitted sadly, for it was true, but he was the first Jurawa had ever told. Even her mother didn't know that the reason she got lost so much wasn't that she was stupid, it was that she just couldn't smell as good as others. "But it's okay...do you know how to wrestle good?" She inquired, laying her ears back cutely and grinning at him, slightly impish.

Surprised by the sudden and more genuine friendly words and expressions, Wahabu barely noticed that she said it was rare for her to be asked for her preference in games. He only stared at her as she explained why she didn't like hide and seek. He barely noticed that she said it was rare for her to be asked for her preference in games. They were good reasons not to like the game, especially if you couldn't smell so well and so he nodded understandingly.
"Those are good reasons," he said, then gave a small sheepish grin at the mention of wrestling, "Um, I don't know. I've never really wrestled.." Wahabu trailed off. He'd spent a good deal of time avoiding such types of play, mostly because the only one he'd really have had the chance to do so with would be his sister- and she really didn't seem like she'd play fight. But Jurawa was being nicer, maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
"I can try though," he said with a matter-of-fact nod.
