CYOA (reg): The Twisty Tales of TanglewoodAlessa takes part some debilitatingly cheap adventure thingy along with Ladon, Calintha, Liliana and Peyton. She's too slow, and becomes the first one to be kicked out. Better luck next time. [Taking place before Mall Madness]

Alessa's place (solo): No Turning Back
It was morning. Somewhere in the suburbs, a girl woke up. She woke up rubbing her eyes with a sense of dread imputable to the nightmare she just had. It took her a minute to realize her waist was bandaged, however, and once the realization struck her, she immediately got up. Lifting the top of her PJs to see what it was all about. “Oh my god.” Stay calm, Alessa. What happened yesterday? She soon came to the conclusion the whole evening was an uncomfortable blur. The only alternative was making a chronological list of yesterday’s events. Woke up. Breakfast. Uneventful school day. Came back home. Went to the mall to buy some new clothes. Saw a robot. … wait. A robot?
There were fainting people and a robot. A robot that attacked her, and two girls (one of them was familiar and she was aware she knew her, but she couldn’t put a name on her again). Then a blur. Then cops. Then more blur. Then late at night, her parents and her came back home and she went straight to bed. Those were the only events that seemed real enough for her. Okay, time to have a reality check. Alessa dropped her shirt and walked out of her room in a small panic. “Mom? Mom, are you here? Dad? Mom?” Maria’s steps could be heard going towards her in a hurry. “Are you awake, Alessa?” she called on the way, and when she reached the confused teen, she hugged her, not leaving her a chance to do a move.
-----------------
“O-okay, I’m not sure I understood it all correctly… there was an aggression at the mall. And I went at the ER. And… and… what again?” asked the tired brunette. “They warned us about the mental confusion, they blame the blood loss for that. You had an internal haemorrhage, and honey, you are extremely lucky we could drag you there when it was still benign. They took care of that, and they also gave you a blood transfusion… you’ll have to ask your father for the details” explained again her mother, betraying her complete lack of knowledge in the medical matter. “He was so worried for you. So. Worried. For you. You know him. So he wasn’t entirely relieved when the doctors sent you home. Are you feeling better already?”
That was not the right question to ask, as the girl didn’t really remember how painful it was in the first place. “I walked out of there just fine, mom, I don’t think I need to go to the ER again” commented the daughter on her current state, taking another look at the bandage. The woman forced the girl to get closer to her on the sofa, wrapping her arm around her shoulders. “Tell us if you notice anything.” “I will, mom.”
There was a forced silence as the two members of the David family knew they were thinking about the same thing. Maria, as always, broke it first. “Dad is out. He had an appointment he couldn’t cancel. He will be back this afternoon” she whispered. “He was very scared, you know.” Another silence. Unexpectedly, Alessa’s whiny voice broke it this time. “I-I-I like Destiny City, mom. I love my new friends. I like Meadowview better. There’s a lot of things to do here.” What she didn’t say but had really wanted to, however, was And I still haven’t found the senshi who saved me the first time – in retrospect, she wondered why no senshi showed up at the mall, but she quickly berated herself as they must have had many more innocent bystanders to save, and her life wasn’t more important than anyone else’s, to be honest – as well as Dad’s job was much crappier back at Hepaunville.
“I know, honey. I like Destiny City too. We all like this place.” She had a soft nervous laugh, betraying this time a denial she didn’t really assume. “What did you think I was going to respond?” What she’d really wanted to say, but didn’t, however, was I wish we could go back to Hepaunville as well as But Johan will not, because he knows he’d fixed the neighbour’s gas pipe the day before it burst.
“This is the weekend. You WILL stay here and take some rest. Don’t lift anything heavy. No more sport for a week. If you’re worried about something, tell us.” Mrs David hugged her daughter tightly again.
