Despite a few days having passed since Tanglewood, Alessa only realized she was 5$ short in her budget when she wanted to buy a chocolate bar at the dispenser and there was a bill missing. However, having not checked her wallet in the meanwhile, and more things having happened in the between, she did not make the connection, and had no idea how it got lost.
Standing near the dispenser, tapping her foot on the floor thoughtfully, she stared at her near-empty wallet, before putting it back in her bag. That was not exactly serious, and fortunately, 5$ weren’t much, but it still was lost money. That was a handful bars wasted. Better take it with optimism. That was just like the light version of a diet (that sounds weird, she thought). Absent-mindedly, she looked around, searching no one in particular, only a friend to talk to after classes. She disliked going back home with frustration in mind, no matter how insignificant.

Liliana had ballet today, but not for two hours and it was not far. She had time to simply hang about after school, which for her meant procure a class and practice the newest song she was trying to learn.
However, her stomach was aching for a little snack and she headed towards the dispenser fishing a few dollars out her wallet as she walked. When she made it she saw a very familiar looking girl and racked a brain for a second for the girls name.
It clicked and she grinned widely, "Hello. You're Alessa right? We met at the Tanglewood contest place."
She moved past the girl and over to the vending machine, sticking her dollar in and keying in her selection. "You disappeared almost at the beginning of the game and I was worried. Eventually we all became separated though and I managed to get kicked out. I have no idea what I even did wrong."
She watched as the granola bar flew to the bottom of the machine with a clank followed by another. Lily grinned, "Wow, a free granola bar," she said moving toward the next machine to her a bottle of water.

It took several seconds to register what the red-haired girl had just told her. Alessa blinked, staring at her, then she remembered what she was talking about. “Hey, you’re right, you were at Tanglewood too! Oh dear, you were in that cheesy thing”, she said with a soft laugh. The memory of what happened afterwards was fuzzy, but she did her best to give her own version of her disappearance. “I think I was walking too slowly behind you guys, and an actor caught me. They threw me out of there afterwards. So… huh… was it fun?”
Clank, clank. “Whoa, cool! This thing prefers holding snacks hostage usually.” She didn’t want to complain about the money that had gotten lost. Whining was something she hated doing, and she didn't want to start today (though she couldn't help but eye the extra granola).

Lily frowned, "They threw you out for walking to slow! That horrible!"
Lily turned looking thoughtful for a moment wondering just how much to tell the girl. It had been cheap at first, but it had only gotten better as they moved along. By the time she was kicked out Lily had really gotten into the game, er despite wanting desperately to find the others.
"It got better," she said deciding on the truth, "some rooms were cheap, but I'd have to say by the end it was like a mini indoor amusement park."
Lily smiled facing the juice machine, "Yeah neat huh." She could see the other girl eyeing the granola bar, but it did not matter. She was not going to eat the second.
Feeding the machine another dollar and change she pressed the button, and could hear the machine working but nothing happened. She frowned thoughts of the granola bar forgotten and fished for another dollar from her bag for the machine. She put the money in the machine only to once again recieve nothing.
"How rude," she stated giving the machine a kick.
Clank, thud, clank thud. Two drinks fell out. Lily smiled and retrieved them before turning to Alessa.
"Lemonade," she said frown. She looked up to the girl, "I asked for water." She laughed arms full of drink and snack.
"Hey, um would you like a snack. I fear the machines are a little broke," she said gesturing to the snack foods.

Another half-hearted laugh followed the first. “Must be in the rule, or maybe they were doing something in the back and they were afraid I’d see it and ruin the surprise. Were there more fights, or something?” She was curious to hear what she had missed. To be frank, she didn’t expect much more than a repetition of what she’d already seen. With several other students, it could nonetheless have been entertaining. Alessa was a firm believer anything could be enhanced if it involved friends.
“So, what was your name again?” she asked right before the dispenser threw a tantrum. “Uh-oh. I knew it.” She leant forward to check it. Only after a well-placed kick did it cooperate. “Hey, have you considered buying a lotto ticket today?” Liliana’s proposition surprised the brunette. “Huh? Me?” she asked, taken aback. “Oh, yes, thanks a lot!” After receiving the granola bar, she admitted the truth. “Makes up for my losing my snack money! Man will always be superior to machines.”

Lily smiled as she handed over the lemonade drinks and the extra granola bar, "Lotto ticket, er no, I think that would be rather selfish of me. Your very welcome for the snacks, sorry to hear you lost your money."
She couldn't help, but to giggle," And yes we made them, so hopefully they cannot beat us."
She waited for the girl to confirm her name quitely before answering the question she'd asked first. "I had another battle with the other two girls against a cardboard monster, which nearly fell on top of me. The boy Ladon, I think it was, fell down a pit in the floor. We moved throught to the room and at one point someone spoke to us. I'm sure you noticed we were obviously being watched. Eventually we were all separated. I have no idea what happened to the others. After I was separated I managed to walk into a staff room, the ticket taker was there and he gave me bad directions. I think I gotten eaten by a room ... er yeah sounds crazy right ... then I guess I passed out."
Lily gave a small huff at the explanation before smiling once more, no longer remembering that she had been asked for her name.

A shrug. "It happens" replied Alessa, with a hint of embarrassment, while scratching the back of her head. "Fate won't always have pity on me, so I'll have to be more careful!" She listened to Lily's tale with great interest, waiting for the conclusion before taking a bite out of her bar. "You mean it wasn't just me? Yeah, they must have kicked out the slow ones and those who were taking too long. So that they wouldn't find secret devices or something." Her eyes looked up, typically daydreaming out loud. "Maybe they changed the rooms as we went and they planned us to go back? That was a small building, after all. They must have added props, or more actors, or there were other participants and they were afraid we'd spoil the rest for them, or..." Her dark eyes drifted back towards the other girl. "Hey! By the way, I didn't catch your name. Mine's Alessa, Alessa David." Her short introduction done, she took another bite out of her free granola bar. Her personal rule: if it's free, it's extra tasty.

Lily nodded, "Yes, being careful is definitely something I would suggest, especially with the recent goings on. You know with the terrorist attacks and all."
Lily took a bite of her granola bar and chewed it carefully listening to Alessa speak and swallowing it down before she spoke again. "You know I think the building was just meant to look small. I am certain that I couldn't have possibly gone backwards. I mean I was even taken up to a second floor and like I said before Ladon fell down a pit. Also when I was taken up to the second floor, so was Petyon, but the other girl Calintha was taken down. I do not know for sure, but there was no way that building could have been as small as it looked."
Lily quickly took a drink of her lemonade as Alessa reintroduced herself. Of course Lily already knew it, but obviously Alessa did not remember her name.
"Yes, I remember from when you introduced yourself at Tanglewood," she said smiling, "I am Liliana, Liliana Jacobs. I am junior here. What about you?"
