NOTE: This RP is Open to any characters who might know Yvette Weaver ICly.

Yvette Weaver was 18 years old. Legally, she was able to call herself out from school for an excused absence. Her Mommy had reminded her of such when she stopped by the hospital last night to check up on Daddy.

It had been a long night. Mr. Alan Weaver had been rushed to the hospital, and his daughter who had come along for the ambulance ride had been left in the waiting room. She dozed off at one point, only for Mrs. Natasha Weaver to wake her up and wait for a majority of the evening with Yvette. Eventually, they were shown to his room, where he was resting.

His leg was done up in a cast and elevated. He honestly looked like a slumbering giant, especially when compared to both his tiny wife and tiny daughter. It was there that they found out he had a broken leg and was suffering from a minor concussion. The doctor pointed out that it had been the helmet which helped soften the blow which could have led to much more serious injury.

Despite how lucky they had been, as the doctor had claimed, there was still one problem.

Daddy hadn't woken up yet.

Mommy waited as long as she possibly could that evening before she had to dismiss herself to head home. She, unfortunately, still had work to deal with in the morning, and she couldn't afford to take a sick day. Yet, she allow Yvette to stay behind with her father.

"It would be wonderful if the first thing he saw when he woke up was someone he loved." The willowy woman gave her daughter one more gentle hug before leaving.

The girl pulled up her chair close to her Daddy's bedside, placing her small hand on his rather large one.

And she waited.

And waited.

She managed to remember to call herself out sick from Meadowview, giving a full explanation as to why she was out. She was at the hospital watching over her father who had not woken up yet. Sometimes the office faculty would let the teachers know why a student hadn't shown up to school that day. Maybe if she was lucky, that wouldn't be the case today.

Soon enough, visiting hour had come, and Yvette, though miserably tired, was still waiting, hands firmly gripping onto her Daddy's. The girl could only tell it was visiting hour because of how lively the voices in the hallways had gotten.

Melody was visiting the hospital to check up on her 'other mother', Mrs. Araya, to see how the woman was doing. It'd been some time since she had seen her, having not been able to get a hold of Ignacio to invite them over for dinner as it had been discussed some time ago. And with that, and not having to worry about the overbearing woman known as her mother, Melody had opted to go and see the redheaded nurse after school. Of course, upon arriving, the woman was no where to be found, and thus she was wondering around the hospital with nothing really to do.

Which is how she had found Yvette. Or rather the small girl's father, his name listed on the plate outside the door. When her eyes had first lay eyes on the name she did a double take. Likely a triple take, to be honest. And then, just to be sure, she peeked into the room and nearly gasped at seeing the large man in the bed and his tiny daughter (who looked even smaller somehow) at his side.

Immediately the tan girl rushed inside as worry etched itself into her unpainted face - which would look odd to any one who wasn't used to such a sight. "Yvette?" she called softly (though loud enough to hear) on her way in. "Yvette, what happened?"

The dark haired girl was still in her school uniform, and in all honesty, she almost looked half asleep. She was teetering over the edge, nearly slipping into the temptation to fall asleep. Yet a quiet voice managed to snap her out of it.

Or rather, jolt her out of it. Even though the familiar voice had been kind enough to speak quietly, the girl jerked up and let out a tiny yelp. It wasn't anything too loud, but if one knew Yvette well enough, they knew that noise was the closest thing to a yelp that she'd be able to let out.

Her head spun around and faced a familiar face that seemed strangely unfamiliar as well. Yvette's deep purple eyes blinked slowly, as if trying to keep herself awake.

"M-melody?"

Maybe Yvette was dreaming?

"Melody, is that you?"

She gave the girl an apologetic look as she neared, a soft smile on her face. "Sorry," she replied a bit sheepishly at having startled her awake. "I didn't mean to startle you."

And yes, it was in fact Melody. Just due to the school rules of Crystal Academy her make-up was a rather big no-no and she hadn't stopped by the dorms afterwords to replace it. A hand moved to rest lightly on the dark haired girl's shoulder, the touch gentle and reassuring in some way perhaps?

"I was surprised to see your dad's name on the door so I had to look, my surprise grew when I saw you in here." Worried eyes glanced to the sleeping 'giant'. "What happened?"

If there was one person who could apologize to an apology, it was Yvette. In her usual tiny voice, now with some guilt lingering upon her words, she said "No, it's okay... I should have been awake anyways!!"

If there was one thing that the Meadowview girl couldn't do right now, it was offer a smile. Even though her friend who had joined her in wishing the other Barren Pines students off was present, she couldn't ease herself into any sort of relief. As if to remind herself of that, she went back to looking at her Daddy rather than her current company. Hopefully Melody understood.

The tiny hand seemed to curl up along the larger one of her father at her friend's mention of him. There was silence for a moment, as it seemed like the quiet girl was trying to find the correct words to explain the situation. There was a lot that had happened. In all honesty, she was in no condition to explain the whole thing either. Yet eventually attempted an explanation. "Daddy was trying to protect me... and he got hurt really bad..."

It wasn't Yvette's thing to be strong. It never had been. Even just saying that much had caused the girl to start trembling. She even sniffled a couple times, as if trying to hold back a few exhaustion induced tears.

Azzo was trying his best to hide the fact he hadn't slept for a while, with an usual chipperness attached to it. He'd grabbed yvette's class work, and was out of his school uniform into his normal clothing. He had a rather interesting stack of books and markers, and crayons, and heck even more stuff than that.

It wasn't an easy haul there was food, short cake and basket along with balloons. He might've went a bit overboard. He paused to listen to the girl as she spoke, he was standing in the hallway. His mind wondered what her dad was trying to protect her from.

He sighed and walked in slowly hoping it wasn't what he thought it was and softly placed a hand on Yvette's shoulder with about as somber as a smile as he could manage. Placing the basket on the table and showing her the shortcake along with some other treats. And putting the balloons in the corner.

"I'm sorry he got hurt Yvette," He said softly looking towards her before coming over to stand along side Melody, he was trying to think of the right words as he looked at the books including homework which he had doubts about if she'd feel up to doing it. So he'd brought some more.... entertaining things, including coloring books and random magazines her and her father might like. Instead of speaking his thoughts further he was placing the things he brought on the table in a slightly neat and systematic way.

"Grams sent you some decent food to eat." He added in that same soft voice.

The perk in volunteering in hospitals and such: getting to hear familiar names.
… that was actually not much of a perk. Or a very depressing one.
Thus, when Alessa left another young patient’s room in the same hall and she walked in front of Mr. Weaver’s room, the name rang a bell. She stopped in her tracks, despite being mentally ready to get home already. She stared at the plate, pondering if peeking in would be a good idea or a terrible error.
There were people inside already. A small bout of eavesdropping helped her discern a girl’s voice, and two familiar one. It was hard to hear the other girl, which only seemed to confirm the brunette’s doubts.

So, she knocked, and opened the door just enough to take a peek inside much like Melody did before her. If it had been a misunderstanding, she may get away saying she misread the name; but it appeared her guess was right.
“E-excuse me” asked Alessa with a voice trembling with embarrassment. “Yvette? It’s Alessa. Can I come in?”
After Barren Pines, she was almost used to meeting future classmates at the hospital. It was much more worrying to see Meadowviewers there.

The guilt in Yvette's words tugged harshly on Melody's heart strings and she tried her damnedest not to let herself get emotional. Especially as she watched the way the small girl absorbed herself back into her large father's presence. It was a sight that would tear into even the most manliest of men's hearts (or so she believed).

Her heart probably broke a second time over when she noticed Yvette start to tremble - and oh the sniffles! God what it didn't do to watch a friend suffer like this. As she leaned down to envelope Yvette into a hug, the ganguro girl was aware of Azzo walking in when he spoke. And his presence beside her.

"I promise it's not your fault," she murmured soothingly to the girl as she smoothed down the dark locks, just before there was a knock at the door. More people to see Yvette... Good, maybe this would help the girl to cheer up just a bit.

In all honesty, it had never helped when someone said something wasn't your fault. Yvette, rather than calming down at the comment, actually seemed to deteriorate a bit more, her mind rather easily sweeping itself back into the moment of the attack. She had been weak. She had been helpless. Her Daddy literally put himself in danger for her. It was 156% the girl's fault, and it honestly seemed as if there would be no way to convince her otherwise.

Beneath Azzo's hand, the girl continued to tremble like a frightened animal. She couldn't look up, but she attempted to speak. "Th-th-thank you... A-azzo..." Somewhere in the back of her mind, she couldn't help but wonder which teacher of hers had squealed about this situation.

There was someone else at the door. Yvette could hear her voice. Rather than tend to the issue herself or calling out (her voice was too soft to tend to something of the sort right now), the dark haired girl turned to Melody for a brief moment.

"C-can you g-get the d-door?" She couldn't keep her eyes on Melody's for very long, and soon enough was looking back to her father.

"Of course, Yvette," she replied with a voice as equally soft.

Letting go of the girl, Melody stood and moved for the door to let the guest in to join in trying to cheer their pale friend up. Especially since her own words seemed to have only made it worse, and she was sure that feeling wouldn't leave for some time. Much to her dismay.

Opening the hospital room door, Melody moved in a gesture that asked the other girl to step in. A sad smile was etched into her tan face. "Come on in.."

Azzo looked at her curiously, "Sorry I'd over heard." He added in softly, more like he'd coaxed it out the rest of the way afterwords. Besides he did miss Yvette at lunch.

"They don't expect you to do any of it right now." He added.

He gave a soft sigh looking over to Alessa and gave a soft grin before turning back to Yevette. "I thought though, you might like something to keep you busy and him when he wakes up." He nodded over to the stack of books.

He swayed slightly before deciding to crouch down, "I thought you might like some coloring books. And I didn't know what kind of magazines you two read so I just grabbed a bunch of them." He stayed away from things like playboy and whatever else could've been dirty. But grabbed some car magazines and other things. He gave her a soft smile tilting his head in that comical dog style way. "I missed you at lunch." He added in.

She stepped in. The Crystal girl’s sad face only made her feel like she was an impostor. Maybe she didn’t belong there for the time being. Still, she thanked Melody.
The sight of Azzo, and his grin she had seen before, was somewhat comforting. She smiled back sadly; she wanted to ask him how he’d been doing since he went back to school, she wanted to hear the news, but that was not the right place nor the right time for this. Instead, her eyes drifted towards the large man in the bed. He was unconscious. The relation between Yvette and him wasn’t obvious right away.

Alessa didn’t dare coming closer. She had some cookies left; since her previous volunteering spree, the decision was made to limit the amount of sweets to be given to each patient. They were homemade, after all, and the time it takes to bake them wasn’t worth it in her mother’s eyes. So, with a warm and sorry voice, the girl said: “I have cookies, does someone want any?”
Now that she sugar-coated her way into the conversation, she waited a few seconds before asking softly another question. “What… what happened?”

Had this been any other situation that was less painful, the girl might have been much more appreciative. Her worry was making it very hard for her to actually fully accept and fully appreciate all the things being said. Even though she offered a simple hushed "...Th-thank you..." to all Azzo had done (or at least, said he had done, she wasn't really looking), she still seemed rather distanced.

It was as if for some reason or another, if she looked away from Daddy for even a second, he was going to deteriorate right in front of them. Perhaps the most reactive thing that the dark haired girl did was raised her free hand at the mention of cookies. She didn't say a word, and in all honesty, she looked just like a school kid in class raising their hand, ready to answer a question.

A very sad school kid. A very sad school kid who pinched her eyes shut at the question of what had happened. And behind her closed eyes, saw the whole scene over in her head. And could hear the sickening thud of her father being thrown into the side of his own truck.

And began to cry a bit behind those still shut eyes.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 30, 2010 4:11 pm

She hadn't mean to make the other girl think she didn't belong, honestly. It was just the sad smile was all she could manage, knowing that Yvette was hurting. The mention of cookies, though, had her almost asking for one before she decided it against it. She could munch later.

As Yvette began to cry, any thing she might have said to try and answer the question ask of the small girl died and the blonde immediately rushed over. No she wasn't a really close friend of Yvette, though maybe that might change one day, but it didn't stop her from being extremely worried for her. And extremely protective.

"Shhh, Yvette~" she soothed out. "It's okay, don't cry~"

Azzo's automatic reaction to Yvette's crying was to pull out his handkerchief and offered it to her. Considering he always carried it, it was handy in cases like this.

He hummed softly, "Don't worry Yvette, he'll be better before you know it." He said with a soft reassuring smile, not that she might've been looking. However he made sure she knew the handkerchief was near her hand.

He settled on the floor not able to sit like he had been. He was looking up at the giant of a man, well giant compared to Yvette. He was curious if it was the same something that him and Melody had seen at least once.
