((This is open to anyone who knows, has a reason to know, or would like to know Damian. If your character doesn't know him you could just say a friend of Damian's brought them along.))

Damian wasn't much for birthday's, especially his own. He was fine with going to someone else's birthday party and celebrating, but he never really like to make a big deal about when he got a year older. Unfortunately for him his step-mother had decided that his eighteenth birthday was going to be a Big Deal. She forced him into choosing a place for the party (he chose the front yard of his house) and a date (he chose his actual birthday so that the party had to be cut down from all day to the hours of 4 to 10), and then set it all up. She had set up tables on the lawn right in front of the porch and laden them with all types of snacks, and sub sandwiches and in the middle was a giant sheet cake. She had even draped a giant 'Happy Birthday!' banner across the archway over the door. She left the wrap around porch pretty much clear of tables or other things so that people could mingle up there if they chose.

The red head wasn't really expecting all that many people to show up, he had casually mentioned it to a couple people he knew, and told them they could invite their friends, but it's not like he put up fliers or anything. He much rather be at some other guy's party, then he wouldn't have to worry about keeping people entertained, or any other host duties.

Four o'clock found the eighteen year old in jeans and a tee-shirt, sitting on a chair on his porch, feet up on the railing and his acoustic guitar in his hands. He was strumming random chords, his gray eyes looking around, then down to his dog AJ who looked like a big ball of fluff asleep next to the chair. Laughing he started to play Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl, it wasn't exactly a current song, but it was the first song he learned to play on the guitar way back when and so it had a special place in his heart. He watched AJ's ears perk up as he played and the boy grinned.

"Hey where did we go, days when the rains came. Down in the hollow, playin' a new game..." Damian wasn't the best singer, but he wasn't bad either, his voice had a bit of a rough edge to it that he personally liked. Really the birthday thing wasn't so bad when it was just him, his guitar, and AJ, no responsibilities yet. He wondered if people would actually show up, it wasn't like he was shunned at school or anything, he thought of himself as fairly popular.

"Hiding behind a rainbow's wall, slipping and sliding all along the water fall, with you. My brown eyed girl, you my brown eyed girl..." He figured he'd just keep singing and playing till someone showed up, it seemed to be keeping AJ entertained at least. The big sheepdog's docked tail was thumping against the porch's floorboards as much as a short little tail could thump.

Kallista strolls around the yard looking around it seemed empty, and the person who was celebrating their birthday she didn't know at all and she wanted to make some friends, instead of being the lonely girl she was when she was at school. Coming to a person's birthday was a good way to start.

Out on the streets Karmi glanced at a crude drawing of a map on a post-it note with a scowl. Damian had handed it to her in a hurry as he ran off to a class, turning to say something along the lines of, "Be there for my Birthday" with a wink (Karmi was sure there was more to it, since it was Damian's way...), then vanishing off into a crowd of other kids.

"Typical Damian." she muttered, shaking her head as she remembered it. Tucking the paper away in a pocket she swayed a large blue bag with a ribbon in her right hand as she walked. It wasn't the BEST wrapping job she could have done, but she was sure Damian would appreciate the simplicity. (Though, was anything truly that simple?) Humming lightly she continued on what was assumed to be the correct street.

Luck was with her this time. Ahead she could hear music, was it guitar? Must have been, Damian didn't own a piano as far as she knew, and she could easily tell it was his playing style. As she approached she could instantly see the visage of a red head with guitar in tow strumming the hell out of it. Karmi shook her head and smiled, picking up her pace just slightly. "Yo!" she called out to the rather preoccupied teen. "I hear it's someone's birthday around here! Might that be you?" She stopped outside of the house perimeter, looking over at him with a grin.

Damian's gray eyes spotted a girl on his lawn, but he kept playing his guitar. The girl was nice enough looking, but he didn't know her and wasn't sure exactly why she was there. Maybe she was lost? He didn't think some random person would show up to his birthday, it was sort've...odd. So he kept playing, figuring the girl would either approach him or wander off on her own time.

The thing that did still his hands was the greeting yelled by a pink haired girl. He grinned and set the guitar down gently, leaning it against the chair. "Karmi!" Aj jumped up along with his owner and followed him down the steps onto the lawn. "It would be me, are you my present? I mean I know I'm a lucky guy, but I didn't think I was that lucky." He winked at her, and gestured her over. "Come on over, the bag can go on that table." He pointed to an empty table next to the food tables. "Feel free to eat whatever you want, my step-mom went a little crazy on the catering and the decorating." He chuckled, looking over at her again, checking her out. Hey, he couldn't help it, she was a pretty girl and she helped him buy jeans, what was there not to like?

Bell found it somewhat, okay, very pleasant to just be walking the streets as a normal girl, not looking for Youma to slay. Even though she had been taking school and duties more seriously, it was nice to have some sort of,..normalcy. She was walking down the street clad a knee-length pink skirt, a white short sleeve button-up blouse and simple slippers. Completely...normal. Needless to say it brought a smile to her face.
And the weather! It was finally beginning to feel like spring! Bell stopped for a moment and just let the wind rush pleasantly past her and play with her wheat-blond hair which was styled in its classic braid. That was when she heard the music. Curious blue eyes looked across the street and saw what looked like a party at one of the houses there.

Bell's smile was bitter-sweet. She didn't go to birthday parties, and didn't have them either. She really didn't have any friends, just...people she knew. It was sad, but she supposed it was also somewhat convenient. Even if she had had friends, she probably wouldn't anymore thanks to...other things.
That she could deal with though. It was her destiny, her duty, to be a senshi. What she did wish, however, was that she had been born to a normal family, and been allowed to go to a normal school like Meadowview. No, instead she had to have a rich business tycoon of a father who got married at least three times every year.(little bit of an exaggeration there.)

Bell allowed herself to stand there for a minute, watching, before turning fer eyes away with an embarrassed blush. What would they thing if they saw some weirdo standing across the street just watching like that? She knew she'd be creeped out....

Kallista frowned lightly, it just seemed odd to be present at someone's birthday that she didn't know. It was not her style of socializing she looked around the lawn and wandered off elsewhere to see if she could get some inspiration to draw something. It would give her something to do at a birthday party, if she didn't know anyone, which she didn't.

She tentatively strolled in a separate direction and sat on the grass before pulling out her drawing supplies she sat down and flipped to a new page of her drawing book and pulled out a pencil and gazed around the yard, looking for some sort of inspiration, yes there was a lot of people she didn't know, but it didn't bother her that much, maybe if she had some patience some random person at the party would approach her but she didn't get her hopes up. She started to sketch humming to herself and letting her hand guide the strokes of the pencil.

Why was she here?

Selena walked up the garden path, a small wrapped gift in her hands, as she made her way to her ex-boyfriends party. She did hold grudges, and had quite a childish attitude...well, most of the time, but particularly when it came to holding grudges. But despite that, she wasn't a horrible person, and so had decided she'd grace the party with her appearance. A small summer frock and a cardigan was all she'd worn, not wanting to over-do it, but at the same time not particularly wanting to just wear jeans and a hoodie. It was a party, after all.

Walking to the garden she spotted a couple of people she didn't know, and frowned as she passed each of them, mildly confused. Why would you turn up to someone's birthday party you didn't know? Turning the corner she spotted a semi-familiar pink head (she'd seen her around Meadowview, she was sure, pink wasn't exactly a common colour), and of course the messy red head that was Damian. Making her way over, Selena allowed herself a wide smile, surprised at how genuine it ended up being. "Damian," she called to get his attention, holding out the gift for him to take, "...Happy Birthday!"

Alessa’s mind didn’t ask nearly as many questions as Selena. She was, as usually seen when not wearing the uniform, in a simple sweater, jeans and her trademark bracelet, casual but comfy. Her gift? The wildcard she always picked when she wasn’t 100% sure of pleasing someone with anything else.
Bakeries. That was basically the only thing she could cook besides sandwiches and pasta, anyway. Her gift was a bunch of homemade chocolate and strawberry cupcakes in somewhat fancy metal box, not wrapped in paper, but around which was tied a big ribbon.

His birthday party seemed like the perfect occasion to support their start of a friendship (and more, as that was her main objective). She hadn’t needed to make up an excuse for imposing her presence on him, after all.
There were several people she didn’t know in the garden, when she arrived. She didn’t think much of it: Cole was quite the popular one. Instead, it’s the person she already knew who caught her attention: Selena Adams. What a coincidence! Actually not much of a coincidence when you thought about it: it wouldn’t be surprising if Damian knew everyone at Meadowview.
She rapidly joined Damian and Selena, happily holding her own box. “Hey, Selena! Damian! How are you? Happy birthdayyyyyy!”

Damian watched the unknown girl set up with a sketch pad and blinked. That was new. He was distracted from the sight by a familiar voice calling his name. Looking around he spotted his ex headed his way. His gray eyes gave her a once over, taking in her bare legs before seeing the dress, which he supposed was pretty as well. "Selena," He smiled at her his mind, of course, flashing back to the last time he'd seen her when they got locked in the cupboard. It was a pleasant memory, until the end. "I didn't think you'd show. And thanks!" Reaching out he took the offered gift, his fingertips sliding over her own as he pulled away.

He was about to tell her to go ahead and help herself to food and drink, but then another pretty face showed up. "Alessa! Hey, I'm good, glad you made it." He hadn't seen the brunette since that Valentine's day party, he had been meaning to call her but he never got her number. The red head was about to comment as such, but then realized he was in a bit of a sticky situation, he was surrounded by girl's he'd flirted with. He had a feeling this was gonna end badly, but until then he was going to enjoy the ride. "I haven't seen you in a while," Reaching out he tucked an errant lock of hair behind her ear and then took the box from her. "Well, ladies the food table is open to all, my step-mom went a little all out." Laughing he walked over to the gift table setting the bag and the box down on it.

AJ was an attention whore of a dog, and everyone on the lawn was paying attention to his owner which meant no one was paying attention to him and that wouldn't do. But there was a girl across the street, she'd pay attention to him! The Old English Sheepdog took off all of a sudden, barking as he ran up to the blonde girl. He shoved his wet nose against her knee and then into her hand, sniffing her, his big shaggy body practically vibrating with the excitement of meeting someone new. Jumping up he barked excitedly, but he didn't lean on her, he knew it was bad to jump on people, but he was just so excited!

"So, what did you gir-" His words were cut off by the sound of his dog barking, Damian turned to tell him to shut up and realized that the big brute had made it across the street. "AJ! Damn dog. I'll be right back, girls." He took off at a sprint across the street. "AJ!" The dog didn't come running back but he did back down a little. The eighteen year old came to a stop in front of the girl, reaching down and grabbing the dog's collar. "Bad dog!" Silver eyes looked up at the girl and for the first time he realized that she was pretty and blonde. He smiled at her, "Hey there, I'm sorry about AJ, he's a spaz. He didn't bother you did he?" He glanced back at his house, and then at the girl. He wanted to stay and get to know the new girl but... "I have to be getting back, but if you wanna join the party you're welcome." He flashed her one of his charming smiles before he dragged his dog back across to his house.

"Alright, inside you go, you big dumb dog." Opening the front door he shoved AJ inside before he went back over to the girls. "So, anybody miss me?" He winked and then chuckled, slipping his hands in his pockets. he wasn't exactly sure what to do now, usually he was the one at parties drinking and flirting with girls, not hosting them.

The next thing Belle knew she was heading the hurried tick tick of claws - dog claws - on the street. It was then Bell realized, somewhat sadly, that she had never once interacted with a dog. It was then it's cold wet nose touched her leg - making her jump, but with somewhat of a smile she leaned down and let it sniff her hand before petting it.
"Well hello there, er-"

It was then that Damian's shouts to the dog caught her attention, an she stoob back up, smoothing out her skirt.
"Oh, he was no bother at all, " Bell replied with a smile. At his invitation, she looked back over at the party. Looked like all that had shown up thus far were girls. Well, it wouldn't be so different from being at school then.
"If you don't mind, then I guess,.." Bell said, following him across the street.

Kallista sat in the shade and started to sketch, humming along to the melody that was playing in her head. While the pencil did all the work, she closed her eyes to fully tune into the melody, she had time before someone fairly random came up to her. As the melody played in her head she started to put words to the melody, she had never written a song before and this was a interesting start.

She opened her eyes and looked at her sketch pad and tilted her head to the side as she moved her pencil and gazed at the drawing, it was filled with notes to the melody in her head and words had been put to them unconsiously. She blinked slightly baffled at what the pencil had guided her to do. She thought to herself well that is something new and a talent I didn't know I had.

Her cheeks had a healthy pink colour - she most certainly hadn't forgotten the detention the other day. She offered a shy smile and a nod as she handed the gift over, fiddling with a strand of hair and running it through her fingers. "Yeah...me neither," she mumbled softly in response to his comment, her fingers quickly pulled away when his made contact. She didn't need any more temptation, thank you very much.

Then Alessa showed up, and Selena turned to face her with a friendly, warm smile. She felt almost sorry for the girl - she was clearly smitten with Damian, and there wasn't much Selena was able to do to convince her that he was bad news. That...that scene, in the closet, was clear roof that he couldn't be trusted, but the dark-haired girl really didn't have it in her to tell Alessa. Plus, a part of her was afraid that the brunette might be hurt, that Selena had been in such a...situation, after warning her off of the same boy.

She nodded in gratitude as food was offered, and made her way over to the indicated table. Pouring herself a drink, she took a sip, and Damian was soon back again, making stupid jokes. Miss him? Selena couldn't help the increased redness in her cheeks, teeth nibbling on her bottom lip once more. No. She most definitely had not missed him.

In almost perfect synchronization, the girl’s cheeks also exhibited a nice shade of scarlet. Her smile was genuine, just like her joy to be there. Unlike Damian’s ex, she’d done a good job at shoving her last talk with her in an unvisited corner of her mind, in order to enjoy the moment more naively. However, for the time being, she preferred avoiding starting a conversation with Selena unless it was absolutely needed, and she regretted the awkwardness of the situation a lot, as she would have preferred meeting her again in circumstances that didn’t involve that one boy.

While she went to pour herself some orange juice, the barking caught her attention, and she spilt a few drops over the table to look at the animal. Her laughing eyes followed AJ and his owner back to the house, again, conveniently ignoring his interactions with other girls. “Hey, I didn’t know you had a dog! What’s his breed?” she shouted to him so he would hear her.
Distracted, she put her hand right in the tiny orange puddle on the table. “Oh crap.” There was a small bout of panic: she absolutely hated making a mess at someone else’s place, especially so early. “I’m sorry, I’m so clumsy!”

Damian heard Alessa's shouted question, but waited to respond until he made his way back to where she was. "He's an Old English Sheepdog, super nice but not so bright." He laughed. He was about to ask what everyone wanted to do when the brunette started apologizing and having a small freak out. Turning he saw the spilled orange juice and her hand sitting in it. Trying not to smile he just took her hand, and then grabbed a napkin wiping it off. "Don't worry about it, it's only orange juice." He smiled at her before he let her hand slip out of his so he could wipe off the small juice puddle on the table. "There, see nothing to worry about." He tossed the napkin away in the trashcan that had been set up outside and then went back over to the small huddle of girls on his front lawn. Looking down at Alessa he smiled. "So, how've you been? Haven't seen you since that Valentine's day thing."

Damian had to admit his party didn't go so badly. As the day went on a couple more of his friends showed up, guys this time. Everyone got a chance to mingle, although Damian spent most of his time talking to Alessa and trying to avoid Selena. He assumed that she hadn't told the brunette about their time in the closet or else she wouldn't be talking to him.

At eight o clock the candles were lit and then blown out, cake was served and presents were opened. Damian thanked everyone for getting him gifts, not bothering to write a thank you list like his step-mother had asked him too.

By nine o clock people were starting to head home. Damian tried to at least wave good bye to everyone, but he was getting tired. At nine thirty the last person left and he was left with the tasks of cleaning up. It took him a half hour to dispose of the trash, breakdown the tables and take them inside and put the left over food in the fridge. The last thing he did was haul his presents to up to his room before he fell into bed and passed out.
