Eidil followed Callessa back to her family's site at the park. It was a tent with a pen set up full of yipping fennekits. Cal's mother proudly boasted that there were half as many now as they had started with this evening. Eidil played with a fennekit while her friend explained the situation to her mother and assured her that she would keep an eye out for her brother. Dormant pumpka and precious prizes set aside to wait, Cal and Eidil continued their journey through the fair. Cal carried a sack of candy slung over one shoulder; she was going to be giving out candy.
Eidil peered at her friend. "You didn't bring your bucket."
Cal shrugged. "No, I did not."
"Why not?"
Cal shrugged again. "I don't really need more treats. I'm going to give most of it to my little brother. He's off with some of his friends from school right now. That's why I'm keeping an eye out for him."
"Y'know..." Eidil said. "You still haven't introduced me to your little brother." She held out her bucket to a passerby. "Trick or treat!"
The adult dropped a candy in her basket. Oo, a chocolate bat! "Thank you, that's my favorite!" she said.
The adult had a little child next to them. Cal smiled at the child and held up a sack in one hand. "My friend here is collecting treats, but I'm giving some away."
The child blinked, then grinned and held up their bucket. "Twick o' tweat!" Cal dropped a bag of candy corn in their bucket and waved at them.
Eilwen was moving around the the caretaker and other freshlings from the Academy. Being in a group somewhat helped to disguise the fact that she was different from a lot of the other kids around her. She actually hadn't gotten any comments about her double tail yet, or her wings, she had just received a treat from a lovely home when a Freshling spoke up next to her.
She had nodded when they mentioned the house was pretty, but sort of froze at the mention of her eyes. She hadn't really taken a look at the other freshling. But the last word caught her attention and she turned her gaze in his direction. They did have slit pupils as well!
"You do!" She sort of gasped at the realization. He was also a Chimera like her, but he had normal wings. She could be a little envious, but she was just more excited to see someone happy about one of her mutations. her tails swished behind her and she looked back as her group started to move on to the next home.
"My name Eilwen! Did you want to trick or treat with me? I have to stay with my caretaker..." She edged a bit toward her group as they moved, but looked at the other freshling hopefully.

The kitchen was at least more impressive although her shirt was hanging weird now and she tugged on it and tried to get it to adjust. Was there something on her back? Maybe it was just part of the trick. She wouldn't put it past this place to have people wandering around invisible to hang on people to enhance that feeling of dread.
She at least gave Quilo's hand a squeeze to at least simulate the illusion that she was scared. Girls were supposed to do that right? She didn't really know.
==============
Tarin was at least a little surprised when something leaned forward eerily from one of the cabinets and offered out a bowl. She frowned a bit but at least reached her free hand in, only to end up with it covered in slime.
She made a face and wiped it off on a towel on the wall. "Ha ha, very funny..." she muttered then followed Quilo and Ella.
Foras was definitely enjoying the festivities. He received what looked like a red box of candy at one of the booths, but he didn't actually inspect his bucket to see what it was. He was planning on sorting through everything in his bucket once he got back to his dorm room. Then he could figure out what he'd share with Gany and Ella! He was looking at one of the games when he heard someone calling out his name.
He looked up and spotted Batholith, in a dress no less! It didn't bother Foras to see him dressed up as such, he loved his Big Brother no matter what!He put a smile on his face and held up his bucket that already had a few treats in it so far.
"It's going well so far!" For his outfit Foras and put on some face paint and made a simple pumpkin costume. He figured it was cute and simple, and something he could make himself. He had a green leaf pinned in his hair as well. "I'm about to play this game to see if I can win a plushie though!" It was a simple enough game that involved him throwing some darts at a balloon. In the end he got to pick form a variety of plushies and his picked the most purple looking one because it reminded him of one of his roommates!
"Her c--costume must be amazing..." He nodded, reflecting on what it was Maria had decided to go as. "O-or maybe she's caught up doing something...?" He shrugged, then faced the game master when Sara asked if they could play again. He smiled, tail wagging a bit under his dress. "Ah, th-thank you..!" He lined up when it was his turn, and then tossed in another two shots. Yes!! He picked out one of the pumpkin bracelets, those looked really cool.
He stared at her blankly. "Nobody knows the rules." He shrugged, figuring she'd dismiss it. Okay, maybe other people knew the rules but he certainly couldn't figure them out. Everything seemed SO arbitrary. Drat, he'd answered her question wrong and told her she'd gotten the rarest bat. Oh well. Vaden would probably scold him for having hurt her feelings or something so it was probably good that he'd messed up. "Okay. Bye." Since he wasn't particularly attached to her or anything, he felt no reason to apologize or ask her to stay. She could go if she wanted.
He looked back to Vaden, debating... Did he want to talk to him still, or did he just want to go home. He wasn't sure, honestly. Vaden seemed to be having fun with whoever that girl was... And while that did irk him, he was getting a bit... tired. He yawned a bit, just long enough to not notice the bit of candy that was tossed into his bucket.
Odessa continued to walk around with her new little pumpkin friend following behind. She turned to stop when she saw a bunch of homemade little lollipops. "Mmmm..." She lifted a finger, pointing at one of them, "May I?" The attendant nodded with a bright smile, pulling the lolli from it's stand and handing it to her. She also lifted her arms and pulled a little green tiger down and offered it too. "Ohhh! Thank you so much!" She giggled and snuggled her little green plushie.
"Yeah! Bats are cool. And the little plushies are adorable." Kiessi smiled as they pulled up their newest little bat. "Your guy is pretty cute too." They gently poked the little bat that Caper was holding. "We should play together someday, like after Halloween or something. I'm sure we could have fun with them!" Kiessi turned theirs upside down and giggled softy. "Maybe I could make them some outfits or something.." They nibbled their nails, thinking for a moment. "What kind of things do you like to do?"
The next house was coming up soon, Lazarus fixing up his costume before making his way to the door. Surely he would have better luck this time right?
Lazarus
Unfortunately no. This time he was given some gummy poo, which didn't look too appetizing to say the least. A least he knew for next year which houses to not go to. As he made his way down the street, the nightmare realized someone (Or something) was following him, slowing down and turning to spot a black Pumpka following him. Well, he might as well give this familiar a home too right?
Walking up the steps to the house taht was next on hus list, Yihad let out a sigh and waited for another nightmare to go first before making hus way to the door next. However, it was an interesting sight seeing the baphoment being followe by a Pumpka. Did that nightmare realize that he was being followed?
Oh well, now it was Yihad's turn to make hus way to the door and do some trick or treating.
Yihad
No wonder that nightmare before hum looked disgusted after leaving this house. Gummy poo wasn't exactly the most appealing to say the least. Maybe the next house would give the litch better luck?
As the nezbat continued to follow them, Candy brought Phyre up the the next house, offering to go up with her again but the freshling refusing. She wanted to keep going up to the doors by herself. She knew she would get sweets, and Candy was right there watching so it was safe.
Candy
Phyre
As Phyre went up to the door, a trick or treat-er passing by offered Candy their white chocolate bat, explaining how they only liked dark chocolate. The demon accepted and took the bat from the passing by nightmare, getting a quick thank you from them before they went walking off to the next house.
Not long after Phyre came back, starring blankly into her bucket as if something bad was in it ", Phyre, what is wrong?"
"I got a rock."
"What?!" Sure thing, when Candy looked inside Phyre had for sure received a rock. What kind of person gave children rocks ", Well... how about we go to the next house and see if they have something bet-"
"Look mommy! A kitty!" Phyre was soon in her own little world, petting the vespercat that had come by to seemingly cheer the little girl up ", Can we keep it?"
"... I guess we can," surely it would be hard to take care of so many familiars and Phyre, but Candy just couldn't bring herself to tell Phyre or even the vespercat no. Besides, if this vespercat was a stray then she for sure didn't want it being left on the streets! That just seemed too cruel in her mind.

Another round of freshlings came through as he was tucking things into his bucket and managed to startle Ares. "Boo!" they cried with a giggle, pealing with laughter as they saw him jump. "You got me alright," he told them, amused. "I don't know how I'll be able to show my face to the other, scarier things that're lurking up ahead," he trailed off, faking a shudder as if he was scared. One of the freshlings, a cute imp, toddled up and held out a bag of candy corn.
"Here, so you won't be so scared to face them!" they told him. Surprised, he took the candy and gave the kid a bright grin in reply. "Thanks little bud. Candy corn's my favorite." He expected them to go off, but they pulled out a second thing and dropped it into his hand as well. "And Mr. Blobbity here will keep you company!" was their explanation. Ares nodded gravely and put the toy away. It was some sort of blobby plush looking thing, a bright vivid orange. He wasn't entirely sure where the kid had got it from, but it could chill with the pink bat he already had.

Even as Pepper glowered at the geist for messing her hair up, she couldn't help but respond in kind. "Happy Halloween to you too mister," she told him, her tone still sulky. Her caretaker murmured that they'd given her some treats and the freshling gave a startled gasp. Peering into her pail she saw the addition of the skulls and a plush. Oh that was so cute!! She squeed and called out a much happier thanks as the pair walked away.
In a much better mood, Pepper skipped along merrily, releasing her caretakers hand to skip ahead of them. Now they could go trick or treating at some of the houses and then they could go back to the festival to play some more games. This was one of the best Haunted Hallow's yet! Though. . .she did wish that Auren had wanted to come along too. Maybe she could make a couple new friends during the celebration though, that would be fun!
Approaching a new house, she knocked on the door and cried out a happy "Trick or Treat!" to the couple that greeted her. They oohed and aahed over her outfit, especially Raffe, who was flying around with her. They gave her a giant orange lolipop. Her eyes grew wide, she'd never seen one this big! How could she finish this off by herself? "Thank you soooo much!" she told them with a bright smile before turning to go show the caretaker.

Frey was going to go home. He really was, but he had come across this group of nightmares tormenting a small nezubat. If there was one thing he hated it was when people tended to turn on the familiars, especially the more friendly kind. The nezubats where just trying to find homes. Running over he grabbed one of the officals for the festival and got the nightmares to "Hey little guy I'm sorry about that" Frey stated. He was started when the nezubat looked up, still quite shaky and climbed up his body to hide under his shirt. Ah well looked like he had his own Nezubat. "Dont worry, you're pretty safe here. Come on lets go get you checked out"
Finally, after running after the sound of the bells on Emma's costume for what seemed like forever, Laurel had found them! He embraced his roommate happily and bounced, not even noticing the green goop stuck to their shoe.
"I'm so sorry that I left you at the dorm, Emma!" He said, pouting. "... Do you want to get some chocolate bats together? I think I saw some in that booth over there!"
Emma nuzzled contentedly into Laurel's hug and sighed. Finally, they were together! That had been quite a wild goose chase! They looked Laurel over as he spoke and hid a smile as they noticed his equally candy covered shoe. Wow, they really were birds of a feather, weren't they?
"Yeah! I'd love to!" They cheered, nodding. "I want a dark chocolate bat, if they still have some of those left!"

Like Laurel and Emma, Sascha and Dahlia were thinking about some chocolate bats. Sascha wasn't a fan of white chocolate or dark chocolate, so he opted for a regular milk chocolate bat. However, the meltyness of it made it less fun to eat after a few seconds.
"Come on, Dahlia. Let's go find somewhere to was our hands." He said, waving Dahlia along.
Dahlia nibbled on her chocolate bat and nodded up to her father. Yeah, this chocolate was super messy! She was afraid that she'd ruin her costume if she folded her arms the wrong way. Luckily, there were napkins not too far away and they were able to get the extra chocolate off their hands.
"I wonder why they make the bats so melty!" She pondered, tapping her chin. "Maybe it's a special recipe?"

After getting her third plushie in a row, as well as a shiny new bracelet, Sequoia thought it was time for another quick rest by the trees. Her paws were getting a little sore from all this walking, but it was all for the sake of candy and gathering super cute plushies, right? She took a few nuts from her candy bucket and fed them to Eli, before flopping against the ground. The sky was kinda pretty tonight, except for that weird black and blue part panting at her... Wait, what?
"Ohmygosh!" She gasped, the outline of the Specterfox finally becoming clear. "A Specterfox... Wow, I've never met one of you before! ... What do you have in your mouth?"
The Specterfox nudged her hand and plopped a slobbery packet of nasty gum into it, to which Sequoia gave a face.
"Uh, thank you...?" She said, arching a brow.
The Specterfox appeared pleased and curled up next to Sequoia. Well, she'd made another new friend, hadn't she?
