Her whole life had been about music. At least as far back as she could remember. Today was her first day at her entrance exam to Crystal Academy. It was really more like a interview. Though either way she was adequately prepared. She had done interviews since a very young age. So to her it was more of a daily routine as she walked into the deans office.
She held her violin carrying case close to her side. While her dress was floor length and very straight and elegant. Her shoes were small heels that hardly showed under her dress. Her hair was up in a perfect bun as to hide the purple undertone she had added over the summer. Thankful her parents had noticed yet. Though with it being so light in color she figured no one ever would if she hid it well enough. She just wanted to do something she had saw one of the older violinist due at her last competition. The lady was stunning. Now then again she was about her mothers age. Which made it even stranger for her to be up against her. Though she would never forget the precision in her playing and the way her body moved perfectly with the song she was playing. It didn't matter to her that she had won that competition. All that she saw was an amazing violinist with wonderful technique and talent. She had dozed out for a moment thinking about that day though she was quickly brought back when her name was called. "Amity Choire, we are ready for you now." the receptionist said kindly.
As she arose from her seat she looked around a little bit before entering the deans office. She was definitely not like most of the people she had seen waiting for their turn. They all looked like teenagers with their school uniforms on, and were as she was dressed as an adult. Did she come over dressed maybe? or did she just hold herself to a different standard?
That was when Her mother famous words rang in her head "dress how you wish to be perceived." Which how she wanted to be seen was as capable and strong. Someone that the dean would be honored to have at her school. Not just because of her career and showcases as a violinist, but also because she was the best candidate overall.
As soon as she entered the office. She politely introduced herself to the dean and smiled as she sat down. The lady seemed friendly enough which was good. It was a lot easy conversing with people not having a terrible day. As she sat she gently placed her case closely beside her, for this interview/exam she was on her own. her mother meeting with her agent and her father planning her next competition. She just brightly smiled not even thinking about it. As her exam truly began. first step introduction - she skipped grades since a perfect 4.0 was never an issue. So that meant her next step was - recital and character examination.

She took a deep breath as she passed through the introduction with no issue. The dean was slightly amazed with how much she had accomplished and learned in life. Politely asking about each item she had spoke of. Which included horse back riding, ribbon dance, french and Italian speaking, and last but not least her violinist career.
horse back riding which she had started learn at age five.
She remembered it so clearly too. It was on a beautiful farm with the greenest of fields. She was lucky enough to meet her gorgeous horse that day. Speckle-dot, as she liked to call him at least. It wasn't a great show name but she thought it fit him perfectly. Since he was a newly rescued wild black stallion. With white looking freckles all over his nose and ears. Along with a few dots beside his eyes. He was beautiful, but apparently the farm couldn't handle him. That was until she came in her cowboy boots and pigtails. She walked right up to him with a big bright smile and just held up her hands to him. At that moment she absolutely terrified her parents since they thought she had been hurt once they noticed she was gone from their side. Though it was just the opposite since the horse just nickered happily and nuzzled against her hands. It was almost as if they had been together all their lives. The owner was so amazed he offered her parents a deal that as long as they paid for his board the horse was hers. That was the day she met her best friend.
She smiled thinking of it and couldn't wait till she could run out of this office and see him. She would sneak off and see him whenever she could. Even though her parents hardly ever realized it. They were slightly preoccupied by her career.
She quickly began on the next topic - ribbon dance. Which didn't take long. She one day at the age of 8 needed some inspiration for her music and saw some ribbon laying on the ground after Christmas. She picked it up and it was history from there. She would end up using the ribbon dancing to help relax her and come up with her next music inspiration or piece.
Now french and Italian. That was to understand the music she was playing. Since at 11 or 12 she was playing a piece composed by a french musician and realized she couldn't understand a piece. So she set out to learn it - same happened with Italian. Little did she know it would help her so greatly in her career. Not only with her music but also communicating with other artist and interviewers. It was amazing to her how much learn those two languages opened up doors in her career. She couldn't wait to learn more and explained to the dean how she hoped it would be possible to learn some languages here. The happily responded that was a definite option if she wished. The response made her smile as she came to her favorite topic.
Her violin - and with that she picked up case and opened it. "It would be easier for me to show you then to tell you," she said with a smile as she took her violin into her hands.

The moment she picked up her violin and its accompanying bow. Everything else quickly faded away. All she could see were the strings and her bow glowing brightly. It felt like electricity in her hand, and she could feel her soul coming alive. For what most people didn't understand was her violin was as much apart of her body as the air she breathed. She took a quiet but deep breath and elegant rose from her seat. She then slowly walked to the open area behind her. Gathering her position quickly, she then placed her violin in position to preform. Her body was composed, and ready to become one with the music. All she needed to do was play that first cord. Though she knew from all her performances she was not to begin until motioned too.
She was awaiting the nod of approval before she began her recital, which she got very eagerly received in seconds. She slowly began to play "Nel cor più non mi sento". A beautiful duet from Giovanni Paisiello's 1788 opera L'amor contrastato, ossia La molinara, usually known as La molinara (The Miller-Woman). It was an amazing piece. Now she hadn't found her duet partner quite yet, but that didn't stop her preforming it. Since she hoped one day she would the person who could accompany her perfectly.
Amity smiled as she began her slow opening. Her first cord was hit, and where she was about to go was the place of fantasies. The room disappeared and the audience was the masses of people she normally played for. Her body and hands began to show the words within the music. Her hands moved her bow through all the jumps and quick movements like they were simple as could be.
Thenshe hit the part where the words would begin in the duet. An she began the music in her own thoughts as she played. 'Nel cor più non mi sento Brillar la gioventù.' In my heart I no longer feel the brilliance of youth.
Her musics goals was to show the very slight sadness, longing, and confusion the person behind the music felt. After studying the song. She realized they were so confused about why the love of their life was such a conflict for them. Was she there's or did her heart belong elsewhere? She continued to play and her bow continued to flow across her violin in perfect harmony. She didn't miss a stroke, and every beat was precise.
With how loud she was playing the music quickly began to play through the halls. So much so she didn't even notice when the receptionist opened the door to listened. The music had captured her heard and soul. As she was quickly coming to the end she could feel her glow about to dim. That was when she played the last note, and placed her violin to her side. Her soul was finally released and the piece completed perfectly. Not one bit of sweat dropped from her face as she suddenly heard a loud echo of clapping. Not just from the dean - but also the receptionist and the others outside the room. She took a small bow, and said thank you with a beautiful smile. After that she took and placed her violin in the case and set it beside her. After that she took a seat, and listened as the dean began to speak. Quickly she welcomed her to the school and handed her a packet of paperwork to take home with her. Another successful performance completed.

Today was a special day. It was a day she had to herself. These days she longer for. Since in all honesty she didn't receive many.
She felt the sunlight light up her face as she awoke from her slumber. Her covers were a print of bright fields as she pulled them gently off her and put her two feet on the ground beside her bed. She smiled as her feet touched the floor. She yawned gracefully and walked over towards her bathroom. As she entered she double checked her calendar for the day and just as she thought it was blank.
Nothing planned. This was a like a dream to her, since she was little her schedule had always been booked. With event after event. It was as if she awoke every day just to see who see would be seeing next and not really to do what she wanted.
Today was going to be different though, as she entered her bathroom. She brushed her hair, teeth, and took a very quick and relaxing shower. As soon as she finished she exited and went back towards her room. Where she stood in front of her giant wooden dresser. To her it just housed her clothes, but to most it was like right out of beauty and the beast. Her whole room probably would be, after all the place she lived at was like a castle. With far more rooms and sections then any one person could probably ever live in alone.
None of that mattered though she thought as she threw on a super casual outfit. Her dark colored blue jean shorts, a white tee shirt - with one of her favorite violinist on it, a leather jacket, and to top it off some brown knee high boots with two buckles on each one for horse riding.
As soon as she was finished getting dress she grabbed a hat off her hat stand by her door. Pulled her hair into a giant ponytail and threw on the hat. She then grabbed her brown leather backpack bag and threw that on her back quickly.
She opened her door and rushed down the hallway. She was greeted by man of the people who worked at her family's house and she politely responded and smiled at each of them. Though she didn't allow them to slow down her goal.
To get out the door before that schedule changed. She finally arrived at the stairwell, before she noticed her parents bedroom door was beginning to open on the opposite side of the hallway to her's.
"I have to hurry," she whispered to herself as she picked up her speed and raced down the red velvet stairwell that spiraled like a spring. For if they noticed her she was bounded to have this one day taken away and she was not about to have that happen.
She had no idea how long it took, but it felt like ages as she finally reached the bottom floor. She could see the door in her sights, but she also heard her parents voice up top greeting the house workers.
She had only a few seconds, and she was determined to make it out that giant fancy wooden door. As her feet hit the ground she dashed, but thankfully for her the main butler was already prepared for her. Since he had the door open for her and as soon as he exited he closed it swiftly. Only saying a few words - Go enjoy yourself today.
She smiled at him and raced off towards her family's stable. She was so thankful for their main butler, he had always seemed to be there for her even when she was younger. He was one of the nicest people in the house and she was blessed to have him around. He was like the fun and caring grandfather she never really had in her life. After all she didn't have time for fun like a normal person, since she had a responsibility to her fans and the world apparently.
She wasn't going to let any of that get in her way she thought as she reached the stable and was greeted by the whining of horses. She was so happy, and was especially happy when she saw that black and white paint horse at the end of the barn lean his head over.
Her baby and he was so happy to see her that he was whining up a storm. She raced towards him and he nuzzled her with joy.
It had been forever since they had seen one another that it felt like a lifetime to her. She remembered when she rescued him from an abandoned farm. They were driving by and she noticed a foal in the cold rain. She screamed for the driver to pull over and when he did. She opened her door and raced out in her brand new evening gown through the mud and over the fence post. Until she reached him she would let nothing get in her way.
Her driver and caretaker yelled at her to come back, but she wouldn't listen and she was so glad she didn't. Since she remembered reaching him. He was freezing and skin and bones. She took of her coat and placed it over him. He leaned on her lap and laid his down. He was so gentle and kind. It was amazing.
She wouldn't budge until someone took the horse home to their stables. She knew the world of trouble she would be in but she didn't care at all. She waited as the driver held an umbrella over her head. Once the trailer got there, there family vet was in the truck hauling and she helped him get inside.
After that she was never letting him go. She thought as she hugged him.
"Let's go boy," she said. As she stopped hugging him and grabbed her saddle. She quickly buckled it his body and then grabbed a few apples and his brush and threw it in her bag.
As soon she she did that she opened his stall. Grabbed his reins and jumped up.
"It's time to ride," she said with a smile as she gave him a soft side kick and they were off. Off into the morning sun ready for whatever adventure came their way. After all this was all she really wanted to do on her day off was spend some time with her best friend. Lucky.
