Prompt 14 (Plight of the Penguin) Most birds migrate south for the winter. Destiny City is hardly a tourist destination for any migratory bird–much less penguins. They don’t even fly! And yet, Destiny City has a colony of roughly a thousand penguins that have decided to take a winter vacation in the metropolis. One evening, the horde of penguins waddled into town, and though they’ve broken up into smaller groups for the time being, there are still so many of them. They are friendly and they are foolish. They don't know anything about city life. They waddle into stores, hang out in the road, and stare at decorative lights. They look like they’re having the time of their life, and they are not afraid of people, at all. They will follow you home. They’ll croak at you. They’ll try to eat whatever you have in your hands. The penguins look like Adélie penguins, but they are only about a foot and a half tall and some are far more plump than others. All sorts of rumors have been going around about these penguins–they’re migrating because of climate change, they escaped the zoo and bred in the forests of Destiny City, they’re escaped from a lab attempting to create a new wave of pets, they’re aliens–to be honest, no one really seems to know. The city is corralling them and attempting to relocate them somewhere safer, but the friendly little penguins are happy to be involved for as long as they can. By the end of the season, Destiny City will have safely recovered all of these cute little birds, so they cannot be kept as a pet and will escape if you attempt to confine one, but they are mostly friendly and like to be involved in whatever you’re doing. Their calls can be either cute or creepy, and they look like funny little monsters if you manage to agitate them enough to get them chasing you. They almost always travel in small groups and always look after each other.

Ascella has had an interesting winter so far. Bunnies had made her a snow pile, she was attacked by snow creatures, and she saw rainbow snow. AT this point nothing would surprise her. Or at least she thought as she came out to patrol and right before her eyes were penguins. She blinked a few times as she watched them waddle in the park's grass. Ascella's jaw dropped in awe as she observed the adorable penguins waddling in the park's grass. She couldn't believe her eyes, and a mixture of excitement and disbelief washed over her.
This was a first. She had heard rumors of penguins on the loose but she didn't really believe them. Ascella decided to approach the penguins cautiously, hoping to get a closer look and perhaps even capture some footage or pictures of this rare sighting. She slowly inched towards them, making sure not to startle the adorable creatures as she prepared to document this unforgettable moment. But right as she got closer, she stopped as she noticed them beginning to huddle up like a little group. It seemed off. Since she did not want to end up in a penguin pile like she had with the bunnies.
"Um ... hey guys I'm just here to look. I promise I'll leave you alone," she said calmly as she backed up a bit. She hoped she hadn't made the penguins mad.

She had followed the aura, tracking it from the point she had first sensed it, and finally… FINALLY! Found the little goodie goodie moonie…. Surrounded by penguins! Of course she had to be messing with the large flightless birds! For ******** sake! Could Strengite catch a goddamn break? First it was those bugs back in October, then the lizards just a few days ago, she caught sight of the rabbits from a distance and just ‘noped’ right the ******** out of there, and now its the damn birds. Add fish and she got the whole animal kingdom gambit this year! Insect, Lizard, Mammal, and Fowl… yippie. So now she was facing a conundrum. Did she just ‘nope’ right out of this situation like she did the rabbit or did she actually go after the senshi? She could use the penguins as a distraction, at best, and even maybe some way of weaponizing them, at worst. Strengite did need to hit her quota, and a senshi starseed would be pretty nice to add to that quota. Damn… Mentally cursing her desire for clout of a senshi starseed Strengite stealthily approached the other female, hoping to get as close as she could before actively attacking. The closer she was, the easier it would be to actually take the magic wielder on in a fight, granted she did have an edge by being stronger, faster, yada yada yada. All the s**t that came along with being a Captain.

Ascella noticed the penguins began to back up from her. She let out a sigh of relief since honestly she did not want to know what having a ton of penguins attacking her felt like. The bunnies jumping on her and her having to be rescued by another person - well that was definitely enough for her. Plus it was a little embarrassing too.
As she turned to walk away and leave the penguins be. She felt something. She slowly turned in the direction of the feeling. It wasn't an order member type feeling, at least she didn't think it was. And lately she had met a lot more order members than normal. But if it wasn't order, then that only left one possibility ... the Negaverse maybe?
Were the Nega members also interested in observing adorable penguins or was it something else? As she pondered the presence of Chaos members being interested in observing adorable penguins, she couldn't shake off the nagging thought that there might be something more sinister at play. Could it be that Chaos members were using innocent creatures as a cover for their own dark agenda? Just the thought of using a cute penguin for evil.
So with that thought she decided to do what any reasonable senshi would she decided to speak out loud, "Hello is anyone out there? If so how can I help you?"

Strengite inched closer, planning on sneaking right up behind the moonie to take her down but her approach was halted when a loud squawk made her jump. The damn flightless birds were chirping and squeaking and doing whatever penguins did when they called out danger even as they tried to waddle away. Great! While they might not have given away her exact location they definitely broadcasted that she was there. This was made abundantly clear when the senshi turned in her direction, lucky a tree helped block her visually, but it didn’t do much since the kid called out… like seriously? Why? Who did that? All the captain could think was just how dumb was this order fighter? There were hundreds of thousand videos on the internet that would explain just how stupid it was to investigate the sounds in the darkness… granted it was human’s stupidity that did get her a lot of her energy quota. That and male’s drive for female company. With a silent roll of her eyes she ducked from behind her tree and raced towards the senshi, throwing one of her daggers as she went. It wasn’t the best of attacks but since she couldn’t get closer by being stealthy she might as well try going for overpowering her. Besides, if the girl tried to run away, Strengite could always just teleport behind her. Only reason she didn’t do it right now was because she wanted to keep that little magic in her back pocket… just in case those penguins attacked or something equally absurd happened.

Ascella was taken aback when instead of a greeting she got a dagger cut to her shoulder. She winced a little bit in pain, but still kept a smile on her face. She knew even when playing the violin. No matter how much pain you felt you always smile.
Now calling out wasn't the best idea she knew that, but the penguins could've gotten hurt. Plus she also wanted to know what she was working with. She took a moment to think since she knew this was someone who was obviously way more experienced than her with fighting.
That was when she said, "well nice to meet you I'm Ascella! Let me show you what tranquility can do!" She figured if they weren't holding back she wouldn't either. Might as well use her magic. At this point it couldn't hurt.
She quickly leans her hand to her mouth and small crystals begin to form in her hand. As they begin to form she gently whispers words of tranquility to them. In no time at all they calmly flow towards the opponent. Sprinkling them with barely noticeable crystal pieces.
Sailor Scout Attack: Crystal Calming Whisper If successful opponent will pause for a moment and feel a calming sensation through their body. For a moment they feel tranquil and less inclined to attack. Almost questioning their current battle. this daze will last for 25 seconds. Can be used 3 times per battle.

She wasn’t surprised to see her dagger pretty much sail into the darkness after scoring the senshi on the shoulder. Strengite knew she needed to work on her throwing skills. She knew this and yet it was still something that she had gotten into the habit of doing when a sneak attack didn’t work. What the captain was surprised at was the way the senshi seemed absolutely calm at her rapid approach. The buttbow actually introduced herself, not that Strengite gave two ******** about it, but the sparkles that was blown on her… that she definitely cared about. Strengite had been moving too fast to try any real evasive maneuvers, she practically got a face full of magical dust. At first she coughed and wiped at her face, slowing down to a stop, before the magic’s effect seemed to kick in and all she really did was just breath for a moment. It was very zen-like. She still wanted to attack but couldn’t really feel the urge to do so. She did have enough thought process to recall her thrown dagger… so at least she was fully armed again. For some reason.

Ascella noticed her attack had hit and honestly she took this chance to run. Wasn't her proudest moment, but she knew she needed to make some distance. Since maybe if she got a little bit away it could give her some time to think about her next move. Or they might just not chase her. Which she doubted but anything was possible if you had some calm tranquility hit you in the face.
She knew she didn't have long, but at least she had time while they were feeling calm. She bolted a few feet further away - she jumped over penguins and tried to avoid hitting any other animals that might get in her way. She ran as fast as she could, her heart pounding in her chest.

chi honda ((Thats an exit for Strengite rofl )) By the time the spell wore off the senshi was running away. That wouldn’t do! Not at all! Strengite took off after her, doing her best to avoid the scattering penguins, who in turn sent up a veritable cacophony of noise. Beastly creatures! She ended up having to kick a few that were not moving fast enough. This turned out to be a very bad move. They turned from trying to get away to actively converging on her. “Get away you flightless potatoes!” She kicked more of them but they just kept coming. Scratching and scratching, flapping and hopping. She was being swarmed and her prey was practically gone. “You bastards are letting her get away!” Strengite was practically seeing red at this indignant situation but no matter what she did to get the ******** penguins away from her they just kept coming back. Finally, with a scream of pure rage and frustration, the Captain just teleported away. Leaving the penguins behind… The senshi had gotten away because of the penguins. She wouldn’t be so lucky next time. Heaven help the next person who she saw because someone, or something, was going to feel the cold steel kiss of her blades.

Ascella turned around and was so thankful the penguins had her back. To think she finally found a cute animal that had her back. "Thank you," she whispered as she waved to the cute penguins and quickly headed on her way. After this encounter she just wanted to take a nice long break when she got home. [Ascella Exit and finish! =D ]]
