Prompt 2 (Paint the Night Sky): Destiny City has already had its fair share of snowfall but for the past week it’s just been constant. There hasn’t been a clear sky in days, and even when it’s not snowing it’s still too cloudy to see anything. Finally, one night, the clouds have finally thinned--only to reveal something more surprising than the suddenly good weather. A glorious display of colorful light dances over Destiny City. Auroras are uncommon in this area, but it’s something unique to see. Especially because it almost seems like the colors blend like watercolors, and look like they’re deliberately weaving around each other.

Amity had been procrastinating all week, but she was now down to the final week before the competition. She had no inspiration at all. No matter what she did or where she went. She could not find the right spark to get her to where she needed to be. No music danced in her heart, it was all frozen over. All there had been lately was snow, snow, and more snow. Oh and to top it all of when there wasn't snow there were just clouds that seemed to go on for miles. She was so tired of this horrible weather since it seemed to not be just freezing the roads but also her mind. If she couldn't think of something soon, she might as well give up on the violin completion, and giving up just wasn't something she really knew how to do. How long had it been since she had felt this way, so hopeless and uninspired? It was the worst ever!

She kicked her feet onto her bedsheets and yelled with frustration into her bedroom pillow. "arrrghhh" she screamed as loud as she could. Would anything be able to help her day improve? Was there nothing that could save her, and help her make this competition in time? Just then she heard something coming from downstairs. It sounded like the weather channel and for once she didn't hear snow. Slowly she got up from her bed and headed out her door. Slowly she leaned on her house's upper banister, with on elbow on the rail she just listened. 'Snow has finally stopped and it seems to be as if the outside will clear up tonight.'

Her elbow lifted and she jumped for joy. Her feet lifted from the floor and back down. This was the most exciting news she had heard all day! Maybe she could finally find some inspiration outside this house, and maybe just maybe she could figure something out for the competition that lied ahead. Racing to her room, she grabbed her rainbow puffer jacket her mom had brought her from some fancy place, her precious violin case, and lastly her winter fur boots. Then as she quickly threw them on she raced out her bedroom door, down the stairs, and straight out the door. No one probably could even see her leave as she headed out. Had it not been for the fact as soon as she reached the bottom of the stairs she realized she had left the door open. "Oh brother," she said with a laugh as she put a hand to her forehead. Only she would forget to shut the door with her excitement, but who could blame her maybe her inspiration was waiting around the next bend! With that thought in her head, she raced up as fast as she could. Racing up the stone pathway, up the stone staircase, and back to the door. Where she grabbed the brass or maybe even golden handle, and pulled the door as hard as she could. Causing a very loud bang behind her, and helping everyone inside from butlers to maids, knowing she had exited the building.

As she finished closing the door she raced back down, laughing and smiling as she headed in the direction of her favorite park. She knew it might be a little crazy with all the snow, but something inside her told her the park was the place she needed to be. That feeling was all she needed for her to race right towards that snow-covered grass. It took her a couple more minutes than normal, but she finally reached the park. It was void of human beings or really any beings that she saw at all, but that was okay with her. Since after all, she just needed her violin as soon as she could find something! Anything that could help her play those strings and create magic that she could share.

As she looked around, she felt something shine in her eyes. A bright light? But where on earth could that be coming from, she thought as she covered her eyes. As she slowly peeked around her hands, she noticed magic!!

The sky was beginning to part open like the sea, and with that small opening, it was bringing something Amity had never seen before in her lifetime! The colors were beginning to pop through one at a time. First, she watched as red danced along the sky, slowly joined by green and blue. A smile made from the sky magic grew so quickly on her face as she placed her violin case on the snow-covered ground. She grabbed her violin and just began to play. Her melody matched that of the sky. She played the magic that she was seeing before her eyes. You could feel the colors vibrating on her violin's cords, as she strung a song of hope. A song that when it would reach its audience they would feel the colors and the joy she felt as they unraveled before her eyes. It was unlike anything she had ever played. She continued to play as her feet slowly moved to the music as if to say let's have some fun.

She played for what felt like an eternity before she watched the colors slowly fade away into the night sky. She had found the magic she had needed, and felt more prepared than she had ever felt for a competition before. Who knew all she needed was some magic skylights. She giggled at the thought, as she placed her violin in its case and closed it up. She turned on her heels only stopping for a moment to say, "Thank you sky, for the magic lights! They were just what I needed!" As she finished speaking she smiled from ear to ear and headed towards home. She couldn't wait to share this music with everyone tomorrow. Since she hoped they could feel the magic she had felt as the lights danced upon her eyes, and made their way to her strings. SHowing her magic is there just when you think all hope is lost. Something will always bring the music back!
