Username: xKOVAKtheWOLFx Teepee Link:teepee Completed RP Link(s):Set the Pawns in Place Prompt Response: Her sides breathed in heavily as second thought flowed into her mind. The last thing that she remembered seeing of him was that he was saying goodbye to the baskets, but didn't he always do that on his afternoon strolls? As the sun began to set, a cold chill ran down her back. It was as if something was watching her. Overhead, she was able to her the warning caws of the crows above.Though she was often alone, she felt more alone than usual tonight. She was used to the loneliness, but now that she had a family, where was the father? She snorted bitterly, now learning what a one night stand was.
Prompt Response: -take the roll of a Mare as I think I tend to better with females, at least with the given situation-
She had made it, they had gotten through it all....they were parents. True it hadn't been planned, but they were both very happy or so Silvria(random) thought. She was so excited to be a mother and it had been a tough labor, but their they were safe in their baskets. She looked to the stallion who she loved very much and he gave a quick smile. With his sweetly soothing voice her told her to rest. She knew she needed to, but it was so much more exciting to stare at her precious babies in their warm blankets. After a little more coaxing she finally agreed and laid down and curled around her baskets and quickly fell asleep the last image being the smiling face of her love...
She awoke the next morning and smiled as she saw her baskets still safe and warm. She slowly stood and stretched and called for love, but he was no where to be seen. She brushed it off as he was out looking for food......but as the day went on he still did not return. At this point she was worried he was hurt in the woods or worse a walker got hold of him. She couldn't leave her babies so she asked any that came by if they had seen him. Several days went by and there was still no sign of him. Then one day an old Mare strolled by, and as before Silvria asked if her love had been seen. The older mare stood for a moment and thought about the description and then her eyes shifted to Silv's and there was sadness.
In a panic her mind automatically thought he was dead, but when the words came from the mare she stopped dead and just shock her head and repeated that it wasn't possible, he wouldn't do that to her, not his children. Leaving her in her denial the old mare moved on. Sil would not believe it, he was with family spreading the good news....it wasn't until a few more days passed and the baskets were ready to pop that she caught a glimpse of him. To top it off he was flirting with another without a care or any responsibilities to worry about. Silv was furious but more so she was destroyed, her heart crushed and feelings ripped out. She was a zombie for several days until her own mother found her and told her to forget about 'what's-his-name' and focus on the love she has, her children. They were starting to emerge from their baskets. She smiled as they came out, beautiful and HE would NEVER see them and when it came to the day that they would ask about their father her reply simply that they had no father and were a gift from the gods and no matter what she wouldn't say otherwise for many years. She is forever scarred, her heart hardened and she no longer believes there is such thing as true love.
Username: Of The Epidemic Teepee Link:Teepee Completed RP Link(s): I actually don’t have any completed rps. XD But I can link you to some of my ongoing rps. Shipwreck Reef Spook Night Not My Mother Prompt Response: Cassius had thought nothing of it when Valix said she wished to go out. She had been bogged down with foal for some time now and had little time to herself. Now with the birth of their children tucked inside their little baskets the mare had some time to herself. Cassius had merely nodded his head and let her go saying he would keep a close eye on the baskets until she returned. It had taken a lot for him to grow to trust the wayward female but he was slowly coming around to doing so. He had settled down in the grass beside the baskets, nibbling on the nearby grass.
The day progressed onward and after two hours with no return of Valix a worry began to work its way into his mind. He became a touch restless getting up, pacing back and forth, and tossing his head from time to time. He was afraid she had fallen, or been attacked. That something dreadful had happened to her. He wished to go and look for her, but he could not leave the baskets unguarded. She had told him to watch them, to keep them safe no matter what and that meant not leaving their side.
A small voice in the back of his mind whispered that she had run off, that she had left him and the baskets. He didn’t want to believe this, he couldn’t believe this and he tried desperately to squish the voice.
The mid afternoon sun continued onward unmindful of the stallion’s predicament. As the sun began to set, the last rays gripping to the earth as the great ball sunk into the ground, he became frantic. It growing late fast and the worst thoughts began to sink in. He wanted so badly to believe she was dead because that meant she hadn’t just up and left them. How was he to tell his children this? How was he to keep going after everything? The urge to throw himself from the nearest cliff was a large one, he felt miserable.
The little voice in the back of his mind cackled madly and whispered some of the most horrible things to him. She had left them; she cared nothing for this pitiful family. She was on to bigger things, who did he think he was? These children were nothing, useless wastes of basket space. He gave the softest of pained whinny as he tucked his tail around the basket nearest to him his nose falling to rest against another.
This was not true, he would not believe it! She might have left but he was sure she had her reasons. Perhaps she was soul searching, and if that was the case she would see that she had lost so much in leaving. He would raise this family and hold it together. As painful as it was to know he had never meant anything to her he would not let that stop him from rearing them to the best of his ability. He would make this family, just that, a family. They would love one and other and keep one and other strong. He was sure of it. They would keep going, they would overcome this, he would overcome this. Despite everything he was happy to have his children, she had given him that much. If she could not be bothered to see them for the blessings that they were then that was ok, that was her choice. His choice however was to stay. He would always be here.
(*Going to be RPing as a male with the name offff.................... Bobba Lewie... Bob, for short... Also - making a note here: I have not read any of the previously written submissions, so if by some chance my submission is similar to any of the above, I apologize, but I was not copying them. I swears. Pinky swear, even!
And this is also put in a spoiler bubble because I think it ended up being longer than I anticipated. ^^; *)
"Be careful, my love..." whinnied Bob as he nuzzled his mate.
"You know I will!" came the playful knicker from the mare as she teasingly nipped at his mane. "Take care of our kids, will you?" she asked, keeping a smile upon her features.
Bob nodded and chuckled "I will. I'll see you soon." he spoke softly. A brief flash in her eyes made him blink to make a double take, but her smile erased any worry. That beautiful smile. It always put his tiny heart on air!
Without thinking much of it, he watched as she pranced off and over the hill and sighed with contentment as he turned his focus now upon the small bundle of baskets he now needed to protect. Not that there was much need for protection, of course. This area was a safe haven. No dangerous Soquili for miles and a tribe of humans were close enough to attract their attention should emergency assistance be needed.
He sighed with a smile, moving closer to nuzzle the little baskets. His baskets! He almost couldn't believe he was going to be a father soon! And by the luck of the stars and spirits, he was going to have three little prancing bundles before too much longer! With a chuckle echoing to his thoughts, he settled himself down amongst them and yawned, snuggling his frame around them in protected comfort as he drifted off in the warm evening sun for a well deserved nap.
~an hour or two later~
A small crack of thunder over head stirred Bob from his lovely nap dream. He was frolicking in the fields with his mate, the two of them playfully being chased by three smaller thems. But to his dismay, an approaching storm interrupted the wonderful dream and he grunted.
"Great. Rain." he snorted as he stood and stretched his legs a bit. "Just what we needed isn't it, Love...?"
He blinked. "Love?" He looked around a moment, temporarily confused. Where was his mate? Shouldn't she have been back by now? Looking up to the sky he can tell a few hours had passed. There were small but futile rays of sun still peaking through the dark clouds looming over head and he frowned. Something wasn't right....
With a bit of a worried whimper, he put all troubled thoughts aside. She'd come back soon. With the storm coming quickly, she'd be running back any time now.
He set himself to the task of nudging the baskets carefully towards a nearby tree, pushing them one by one into the protection of its thick branches to stay dry. One and two were safe, but as he returned for basket three, small droplets began to fall, urging him to hurry before the bottom dropped. His brow furrowed at this and his gaze swiveled towards the hill he last saw her disappear over. Where was she?!
A rather loud crack of thunder seared over his head and he jumped quickly back into the task of nudging the basket along. She'd come soon. She had too! She said she would!... Didn't she...?
Worry now etched his every movement. Once the third basket was secure under the tree, a gentle rain began to fall. His worried eyes turned and darted over the landscape, eagerly looking for her figure to come bolting back towards them.
As time went on, he began to play their farewell over in his head.
"Take care of our kids, will you?"
His eyes flashed open in the same instant a flash of lightning caressed the heavens. Did she... Did she really say goodbye for good?!
He milled it over briefly in his head as he began to pace under the tree. No... No, she was merely making a statement to watch them while she was away. She'd be back....
"... I'll see you soon."
The image of her face flashed back to his thoughts. Was he really mistaken? Or did he actually see some hidden form of a lie floating in her gaze. A lie never spoken, but somehow silently understood?
Oh man... Where WAS She?!?!
He paced in a slight panic now. Worry that she had crossed into unsafe territory or maybe, just maybe, their safe land wasn't at all safe anymore? Perhaps an unfriendly Soq had made it's way into their land and she had done the unthinkable and stood up for them to drive it away from their kids?!
As gruesome as it may seem, Bob was beginning to believe that bit. But it did nothing to calm his worry.
A few more paces were made before he stomped a hoof, a look of determination falling over his face.
"What are you worried about, Bob?!" he began, talking to himself. Why shouldn't he? He was technically alone. "There's a storm over head! She found some shelter to wait it out! Duh!!"
He shook his coat a bit, shimmying some of the stray rain drops from his hide before he moved back towards his baskets. He nuzzled them each lovingly before sighing deeply and falling back into a lay around them. If she was waiting out the storm, then so would they... but his worry still bubbled under the surface.
What if she didn't come back...? What then?
Well, he couldn't necessarily abandon the baskets to go and look for her... and he was definitely not going to just leave them with the humans to watch while he did so... what if that dangerous (and fictitious) Soq was out there and got him too?! He wouldn't be able to live with himself (if he survived such a thing) after that knowing that his kids would never know their parents. It was bad enough that he himself knew very little of his father and his mother never spoke of him.
He snorted at the thought. His mother always seemed to think that she was in a kill or be killed situation if the subject of his father ever came into the conversation. That was one response his kids would never know of. They'd know of their mother. He'd make sure of it.
If his worry of her never returning ever panned out to be true, he'd wait until the little ones were able to walk before starting a journey to find her. And if anything, it would at least show he tried.
The rain trickled back down to a drizzle as he thought of this, and the setting rays of the sun began to filter through the clouds again. He whinnied sadly with a sigh, giving in to the fact that she wasn't coming back. He gave each basket another loving nuzzle.
"We'll find her, my little loves." he assured them - though mainly himself - as he held back his heartbreak. If anything, he at least needed to be strong for his little ones now... "We'll find her...."
Username: Nyx Queen of Darkness Teepee Link:[x] Completed RP Link(s):[x] Prompt Response: He remembered it like it was yesterday when they met. He loved her from the very first moment he had met her. He thought it had been the same for her. But just like always, he'd been left holding the bag.
When he found her, she'd promised him she "was not the staying kind" and yet she stayed. She stayed for a long time, so long that he thought she'd stay forever. Then she told him about the foals, and he was so happy--but there was some look in his eyes that he could not fathom.
The foals had come, had he fallen in love with her and now with them at first sight. But she was acting distant now, said she needed to take a walk. He knew she needed time for herself.
He kept telling himself, she was coming back. But as he watched her disappear, as the hours fled into days. He had to accept the fact, she wasn't coming back. He wanted her...he wanted her to stay so badly, but what could he do. She had promised him that she was not the staying kind--only he hadn't believed her. He thought he could change her.
The small stallion lay staring at the baskets while the sun crept down further and further beneath the trees. Felix had fallen asleep not long after Evangeline had left for her walk and he had only awoken a few moments ago. Yet still, there was no sign of his love. At first he had assumed she had left for a snack, yet as time went on the mare did not return.
With shadows starting to fall over the land, Felix could feel a dark pit forming within his stomach. Had something happened to Evangeline? He had heard many a tale of skinwalkers in this area, yet he had never truly believed them. Or perhaps she had finally left him? Felix had always known that the prospect of foals had been terrifying for the young mare. She hadn't been ready when it had happened nor had she ever appeared to even want a family. A wave of sadness overcame the stallion as the thought of Evangeline leaving hit him. Was the idea of a family so terrifying to her that she would just up and leave?
Shaking his head, Felix forced himself to stand and survey the land. He stood protectively over the baskets and scanned the forest around him, yet no matter how much he looked, he could see no trace of the mare. His heart urged, no, demanded that he look for her, that he chase her down and bring her back. After all, with some persuasion and a little time he was sure that she would be happy, especially once the baskets popped. Yet no matter how much he wanted to chase after her, his brain kept his hooves firmly planted where they were. He could not leave the baskets, even if Evangeline had been taken by a skinwalker.
No matter how much it pained Felix to think it, he knew in his heart that his love had left him and abandoned their baskets. Evangeline was the love of his life and he would most definitely not give up hope of finding her one day. For now he would raise the baskets into foals and even one day strong and happy adults. Yet every day he would keep an eye out for the love that had abandoned him.
