The twilight mist enveloping the dark, glowing stallion in its transparent hold moved with him like smoke, giving his glowing decorations an eerie, distorted awe. Ceros looked halfway up at the sky, where the twinkling lights of stars welcomed his glowing, distant eyes as he lost himself in thought. He found himself searching for familiar constellations and groups of stars, only to realize that the links he knew were mirrored in this sky. He gave a little sigh, it was bothersome having to flip everything he knew about the sky in him mind just to star gaze. He laughed to himself as he looked around his deep section of woods to see if there was anything to catch his interest.
His body and mind were both in a half daze that was always brought upon him by the mysteries of early nightfall. His instincts were muffled and senses focusing souly on his dream like wandering.

Nokomis was wandering in both body and mind. Her subconscious kept her on a safe path, but she no longer knew the area she was in. Last she remembered she had been flying under the moon light when her thoughts drifted of the past she knew and the past she had yet to re-discover. She now found herself walking in among the trees in a forest that she had yet to explore...
Here in the darkness the glow around her intensified lighting her path, guiding her. She looked to the stars and moon shinning in the sky, the were protecting her and guiding her as they always did. A clam wind blew through her hair and caused her small bells to jingle ever so lightly. It was an odd feeling that something, someone was near, but she could see no sign of life next to the serene sleeping earth around her.
She continued to walk for awhile more the feeling of being drawn to something unwavering. Suddenly she stopped, something told her to stop. She was unsure why, but then looked around. As she turned her head she first saw a glow similar to hers. It was another unicorn, but she'd never seen one like him, none other with that similar glow as she. She stood and looked to the sky to moon and wondered what was to be now. Another breeze blew past her, a little stronger then before again causing her small bells to sing.

Nothing caught his distracted attention as such, so his glowing hooves began to move and wander his body through the bush once more. Even with most of his mind occupied with scattered thoughts, his steps and motions were just as graceful as they would be when he was fully alert. The unicorn blood in him wouldn't allow clumsiness of any sort.
Walking silently along, noticing nothing but the beauty and mystery around him, hidden by his dark color and his sure-footing, only to have his glow give him away to be where he was. Though the odd animal that gave his presence thought quickly assessed him to be of no danger. Anything else must have mistaken him for fireflies or a strange reflection of the glowing moon above. The first jingle of the unknown mare's tiny bells was too quiet and too far for Cero's keen, large ears to pick up. But with the next gust of wind that awoke them, he caught it. He blinked and snapped into the misty reality he had found himself surrounded in and looked around for the source of the delicate music. His glowing eyes found their mark. Not too far from him, about seven yards or so, stood a moon silver mare. Her hair neatly and perfectly woven and held by decorations, where the bells hung, the tiny wings sprouting from behind her shoulders, the same big ears and split hooves he himself had, and her oddly curved horn. He was mesmerized by her and her sudden appearance into his world - just like the mist they both stood in.
She looked like the moon herself.

She found herself to be mesmerized staring at the stallion. His dark color blending in with the night and his mane wispy like the clouds them self that often gave protection over the moon. She noticed his glow more then ever as she took a few steps closer. He held the same glow as she, it was puzzling and did not know what to think of it.
She slowly move another step closer, searching the stallions eyes, the gate to his soul. He was no danger, if anything he was as mesmerized as she. She was unsure of what to say, so many thoughts she had.
She saw the mist swirl around their hooves, it was calming somehow. She looked to the moon, basking in her cool glow and smiled gently and bowed gracefully to the stallion as the wind whispered the moon's words in her ears on the gentlest of breezes. "Good evening, son of the night sky, one loved by the moon and stars.", her voice was gentle and kind. She spoke with the dignity of a unicorn, with a pure elegance and a soothing tone.

His own awe reflected in the crisp blue eyes of the mare. He looked at her and quickly assessed what to do. Everything about her, her movement, tone, aura, spoke mystery and delicateness. He was not afraid of her, his senses were infact telling him to approach her.
Snapping out of his near-trance with just a blink, he didn't hesitate to return her bow with his own. The manners unicorns were born with displaying themselves more than ever now. Looking up at her from his bow, her spoken greeting took him off guard. It was not the strangeness of it, which most would notice first, but how familiar it was to him. In his old herd of wandering, star-gazing unicorns they had a very similar greeting. It was used on the most special of occasions. The birth of foals, the ceremony of life mating, and crowing of a new leader. The familiarity of the words and the way they were casually used opposed to his own use of such a greeting made him smile gently.
"Good evening lady, it is a pleasure to encounter you here in our veil of mist. My title is Monoceros. Might i ask yours?" He took another gentle bow, but it was only a lowering of his head at a slight angle, closing of his eyes, and an extended placement of his right hoof.

She looked at the stallion with amazement, she was in awe though the surprise may not have shown on her face. Her smile laid daintily on her face, but inside her smile was as wide as the open sky. The stallion was unique, but in an oddly familiar way.
She watched him move with elegance and pride. She saw something in his eyes, a hidden expression, a question perhaps, but she could not be for sure. She took a step closer to the stallion, it was as if she was being drawn to him. This feeling, the familiarity was curious to her, it intrigued her.
His voice was enchanting and eloquent as he spoke his name. In turn she too bowed her head slightly with closed eyes and extended her right roof and spoke again. "I am called Nokomis sir Monoceros. It is a pleasure to meet a gentleman such as yourself amongst the stars of night and the high moon.", she said looking towards the moon with her gentle smile a little bigger then before.

The way she spoke, moved, the way she was couldn't stop him from smiling brilliantly. He nodded and also looked up towards the sky. It had become darker quickly now that night was slipping in on them, and with it, the brilliant canvas of the celestial objects in the deep dark blue. Spying one of his favorite stars, which he had named Nouvel, disregarding whether it already possessed a name, he looked back down at the strange, and intriguing mare, and saw the starlight reflecting in her pale eyes.
The movement of looking down from the endless sky caused the glowing decorations of his cloud mane to slowly shift and swim as if in a still ocean. A bit of cloud wisped off and evaporated into the mist. "It seems you are very knowledgeable about the mysterious sky, how is it so Nokomis?" Her name, delicate and perfectly fitted for her, also reminded him of his abandoned homeland.

The moon grew brighter as the sky darkened bringing the mysteries and wonders of the night to life. Seeing Ceros's smile almost made her knees buckle, he was stunning. This attraction she had towards him she could not understand, but she enjoyed the feeling.
Looking back to the sky she noticed a certain star seemed to catch his sight and she continued to smile bright at the mysteries he himself held. As he addressed her her smile faded slightly and she withdrew to her thoughts before answering, "I'm unsure myself. I was found bathed in moonlight by a tribe of humans. I was very young and remember nothing but a voice inside that taught me what they could not. The moon has whispered to me on the winds she has guided me, she is my mother in many ways....other than that I do not know, the sky is like my home. The moon is the sun in my life, the stars my hope. It probably sounds like nonsense, but the moon...the night air, the mysteries...it is who I am..." She tunned her gaze from the sky to Ceros's eyes with joy as she spoke. She felt at ease, at home.
She ruffled her wings and took a closer step towards him, studying his eyes, his soul. She smiled and settled her wings at her sides and glanced to the sky once more. "And you sir Monoceros, you seem well versed in the stars yourself." She was eager to learn off the mysteries they both seem to share, to learn of one similar to herself in ways she didn't know possible.

"Not nonsense in the least." He protested her doubt before he even had a chance to get over the mental surprise. Her, situation, her origins. They made him feel even closer to her, the shared the same birth, the same feelings for the moon and her mysteries. He had never expressed his affection and feeling of belonging towards the celestial object in these lands in fear of rejection. Of misunderstanding.
"I do, in fact, come from a nomadic tribe of unicorns with cloud manes like my own." He gave it a small shake, "Our origins and traditions were birthed in the Desert of Illusions. A sections further in than the desert found in these lands. Our culture and way of life revolves around the stars, the night winds, the light of the moon, and the moon itself." His eyes slowly glowed brighter and brighter until the mare's face and his own were as bright as they would be on a sunny day. "These lands were completely alien to me when I came after being separated from my herd many months ago. I never thought I would meet someone like yourself." He admitted with a sheepish smile.

She smiled knowing she wasn't 'weird' to him. It was a great comfort knowing he seemed to share her compassion. She watched him as he spoke and shake his mane, the way it flowed was brilliant, a wonderful mystery.
As she listened there was almost a tug at her heart, it sounded strange, but familiar all the same. It was comforting to hear though. She keep her eyes locked with his as the glow of her hair decoration and horn grew in intensity as his eyes and hair ornaments grew as well lighting their faces. She could see his facial features with intensity and clarity now and she couldn't help but smile. "Your words ...your homeland, it's distant, but it sounds so familiar, but there is no way I could know it. How is it that I feel I do?", her voice broke and wavered ever so slightly confused now more then ever. There was so much she still had to learn.
"These lands are still a mystery to me, where I was brought up, I was the only of my kind, but I was happy till the moon called me to travel and lead me here. There is still much for me to learn it seems.", she smiled again looking to the moon and Ceros, thinking maybe he could help her learn and discover more about her and her lost past.

He slowly shook his head, his eyes gently sliding closed, at her question which had not been directed at him but at the void. "I am not sure, but I feel as though I know you as well, where your soul lies." He opened his glowing pale blue eyes and stared intensely at her, unable to grasp it uncompromisable mystery that was connecting them in some way. "Though I never thought I would meet someone like you in these green-bathed lands. Not someone who felt a deep touch with the moon and stars. It is of real comfort to me." Everything about her made him think of his home, but not in a painfully nostalgic way, but a warm, soft longing. A feeling as though he never left. Or that a part of him that had died when he lost his herd had now been re-born, but it was new. Different than before.
It almost felt as if he finally had something keeping him in these Soquili Lands. "There will always be something to learn. Somewhere, at some time. That is what makes this life so interesting, so mysterious. There is always something new to stumble upon. Though," he smiled crookedly, a genuinely sweet smile, "it is always most interesting to stumble upon all those things with someone."

"The soul is a great thing, the door, locked waiting for the right key. It hold our secrets and mysteries, those of which slip through the cracks from time to time, when we discover things anew.", she spoke almost dazed then blinked her eyes and shook her head gently causing the small bells to sing.
Slightly embarrassed she gave a small, hoping she wasn't blushing on the outside as well as inside. "Im sorry. Im not sure where that came from. There is still much to learn and much to be taught, and it will come to pass in it's time; this I know." She blushed again at his last words and smiled shyly almost. "It would indeed be interesting to discover the mysterious that lay out there with someone. 'Follow the stars and be bathed in the moon's light and you may learn of the secrets this world holds.', I've always been told that, it rings out in my heart and so far it's lead me here. Maybe we are meant to unravel this mystery together."
She looked at him again, she had a straight face, but calm. In her heart she was hoping he'd want to travel ad learn of things they never thought possible, to learn of her past and the pull she had to him. So many things to learn, she knew she would understand more with him by her side.

Ceros smiled at her like he would at a younger sister, "Do not worry yourself, what you stated was very true." He laughed, "The right key is sometimes hard to find, isn't it?"
A light pink blush creeped up on her cheek and he blinked in mild surprise at it, but seeing it caused him to blush just as slightly. He cleared his throat, unable to wipe a smile off his face at hearing her want to travel with him. Moving a front hoof just a step closer. "I have been told many similar things by my family and herd elder. This world is an endless void of secrets, no one ever being able to uncover or unravel them all in just a mere lifetime. We won't have such luck either, but why not make an adventure out of it?" He took a breath and then looked her straight in the eye, solemn, poised, and strong. "Would you give me the pleasure of being my partner for such an adventure? In sickness and in health. In good times and in bad. Till dawn do us part?"

She smiled at his words and calm demeanor. "What is life without it's mysteries, and new ones are born every day.". She smiled and gave a slight giggle as he smiled back at her.
Her smile faded quickly and turned to surprise as he spoke again and moved a hoof closer. She tried to speak, but found her heart pounding so hard it seemed to catch in her throat. She kept her ground, her poise never faltering.
She listened to his words, almost unbelieving what she was hearing. Inside her smile was as big as the sky, but it couldn't seem to make it to her face. She finally caught hold of her emotions and ruffled her wings with a gentle, but very happy smile. "I would be honored to be your partner for the adventure that has been laid before us. The dawn can't even part us, the moon and stars live forever, merely hidden, sleeping in dawns light; waiting to awaken again...together.", she moved a few hooves closer and gently nuzzled his cheek, blushing and smiling. "Where the moon doth wane so shall we follow."
With that she was ready to re-discover her past, while moving forward with her hopeful future,, bathed in the moon's loving light. Forever guiding, forever protecting them. The adventure begins....
