It was another warm and sunny day as Ixkin wandered in these new lands. She had met a few nice faces, but no real friends yet and she like her solitude. The sun warmed her back as she walked though a wide forest as she thought back to her family and life as a young filly.

As she walked the warm sun comforted her as started to feel the pain of the past. She looked to her dagger strapped firmly to her leg and smiled faintly thinking of when her father had given it to her...She shook her head causing her long mane to flow gently in the wind as she slowly made her way to a small pond where she sat and looked through her own eyes seeing how far she has come.

The sound of humming wings and tiny, jingling bells could be heard coming towards the winged mare and hovering above the water was a humming bird. It seemed to be a bird of many colors as it admired his reflection in the water, moving back and forth. It didn't take any notice to the mare right away, not until he happened to turn and see her close by. Humming, he flew closer to get a better look, finding she had wings just like the Soquili he had attached himself too! But once he had his fill of observing her for all of a few moments, he turned and started hovering off, looking for his own Soquili.

Arcangelo, meanwhile, was having a bit of a creative flux, panting on a boulder that was by the lake. There was no rhyme or reason to the design, he just felt like being creative, and he had a feeling his father wouldn't appreciate putting brightly colored designs all over the cave he lived in with his parents.

Ixkin looked at the water in the pond with a calm expression until she noticed another reflection in the water. It was a hummingbird of many colors which made him seem familiar, but she could not yet place it. She stared at the beautiful bird as it admired itself and then looked over her.

After a few short minutes the bird flew off it seemed to be looking for something or someone, she decided to follow the colorful bird hoping to realize why it looked so familiar. Following the bird around various trees she finally could see his destination, it was Archangelo. She enjoyed thier brief meeting and was happy to see him again.

As she watched him he painted a boulder with bright colors. As he painted the sun caught the paint in its rays causing it to shine and give off it's own rainbow glow, it was beautiful. She was transfixed watching him paint, that she seemed to become a statue, forever admiring his art work.

After he felt he was done, he set his brush down by his palette and took a step back, smiling at what he had made. He loved creating something from nothing, made the world seem that much more brighter! Feeling a small weight land on one of his higher wings, he looked up and grinned.

"There you are Bach, I was wondering where you had wandered off too." he said to the humming bird, folding his wing down to get a better look at the bird who had come to him not to long ago. Seemed to love annoying his father and kissed up to his mother like nothing else, but he found him to be a dear friend already.

Ixkin watched as Archangelo finished his new creation and the small bird land on his wing, Bach he called him, it was a fitting name. She still stood still as she folded her wings into her sides more. She took a deep breath and a small step forward, hardly making a sound.

She stepped forward again as her hair was blown in her face slightly, but then settled. She looked at the once plain, dull boulder and smiled at the new life it became. "It's beautiful, you are truly an artist. I see how the suns rays dance happily on the colors, giving them a bright glow...it warms my heart Archangelo." She continued to smile gently as she stepped closer to the artwork.

The stallion reared up in surprise, neighing a little from shock and flapping his large wings, which in turn startled poor, little Bach and the hummingbird flew off to hide. Settling down and digging at the ground to slow his racing heart down, he turned to see the mare he had met the other day and he immediately felt himself blush in total embarrassment. Why couldn't mother or father teach him how to interact with others?!

Bach, after having flown behind the boulder, flew right back and settled on the stallions head, right between his small headwings. Arcangelo shook his mane and that caused the bells on him to jingle in harmony, "T-thank you very much for saying so." he exclaimed, now realizing what she had said when he got startled. He looked over to the design, "I just painted what I felt would look best. Heh, I like to think of the world as my canvass and hope to inspire others to be creative in their own way." he said with a broad grin.

Ixkin smiled gently at him and took another step closer to him and admired the bird, Bach on his head. "I am sorry for startling you, I would of spoke sooner but I was mesmerized watching you paint." Her smile grew wider and brighter as she looked at the painting and back to Archi.

She moved closer and stood beside him and looked at the painting and nodded. "I agree the world is an open canvas for us to paint and create beautiful things and even realize dreams. You are very inspiring and I think the great mother approves." She brought up in the belief that there where governing forces that aid the life of the world, not gods necessarily but friends of nature. She saw the sun first and foremost as she sheds light to the world enhancing the colors and inspiring others even. She seemed very pleased with Archi's work.

He felt the blush on his muzzle grow darker and he pawed at the ground a bit, feeling embarrassed from all the praise. "T-thank you for your kind words. I do always hope my work would bring joy to other Soquili or at least bring a smile to their face." he exclaimed, feeling his blush fade.

He looked over the mare again and finally noticed the dagger attached to her leg, "Oh my, I've never seen another weapon before. My father has a sword of his own, it was much bigger then me when I was a foal and he never let me try to pick it up." he said in slight surprise.

She smiled at him and found his blush very cute, but her smile faded slightly as he mentioned her dagger. "Yes, my father gave it to me long time ago to help protect me...but I don't use it anymore, its merely a reminder.." Her words faded as she looked to the ground her forehead jewel dangled down.

She looked back to Archi's panting and it brought her smile back grander then ever. She nudged her dagger adjusting its angle, but did nothing more. "They are very dangerous weapons, her father was right to not let you see it. Your father seemed very strong though, I doubt he would need such a weapon..no one should need a weapon."

Her smile started to fade again and her memories tried to cloud her mind, but she abruptly changed the subject. "I've seen your father, the living flame -laugh- But tell me about your mother, what's she like?" She smiled softly, her face bright and lively again.

He felt the grin on his face slowly fade when he saw how sad she looked and he suddenly felt very foolish for bringing up an obviously hurtful topic to her and he was about to apoligize when she started talking about his parents. He then grinned as he looked up tint the sky.

"Yes, my father is the living flame, buy my mother, she is the incarnate of fire itself. She burns brightly, brighter then anything I have ever seen before, she is beautiful! And so wise, I feel she still has much to teach me and this world and beyond." he said, obvious admiration, pride and love for his mother in his voice.

She smiled at the thought of his parents. "She sounds wonderful Id like to meet her one day. But if both your parents are fire what so you not have any flames?" She was curious and couldn't help but ask as everything about him was mesmerizing and fascinating.

She looked to the sun in the sky and the few clouds surrounding it and smiled wide feeling the warmth and love of the sun. "Fire, flames of life, they breathe warmth and light into this world, they are close to the creators and protectors of the world. It is an amazing thing." She closed her eyes while looking high in the sky, soaking in the suns rays, giving her body a faint glow of light and warmth.

He pawed at the ground, looking a bit nervous, Bach flapping his wings a bit to steady his small body. "Well...they are not my true parents, at least not in blood. My mother found my basket and adopted me, and my father took us both to his home to keep us safe and warm during the winter. Mother was the first Soquili I saw and just assumed she was my mother because I recognized her scent, heat and voice, as well as fathers."

He felt no shame over the fact neither his mother or father weren't his true parents, and if they ever had foals of their own, he would treat them as if they were his little brothers and sisters. But he wasn't sure what a complete stranger would think and he found he wanted this mares approval.

She smiled warmly at him. "That is a grand thing, they are both pure in heart. Blood doesn't define who you are, but the love of those around you. They are your parents no matter if you share their blood or not." She could see his unease, but she hoped her words would calm him and give him comfort.

"Archi, they seem like wonderful parents and Id be honored to officially meet them both one day. Treasure them always." she gave a small half smile thinking back to her parents and the happy days, it made her happy and her heart warmed.

He felt himself let out a sigh of relief, glad she approved of his parents and he had a feeling his mother would approve. His father would probably not smile, but give him a smile he approved. He smiled and nodded his head to her, Bach flying off and hovering around the female.

"Oh yes, how rude of me! This is my dear friend, Bach! He has a lovely singing voice." he said with a smile, the humming bird landing on the mares head.

She smiled as Archi relaxed and then found herself staring at the multi-colored bird now hovering above her. "Hello Bach, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Iskin(eesh-keen)." She laughed again as the bird then sat on her head. "I would love to hear him sig, if he could honor us with a song."

She continued to smile and looked up towards Bach on her head, her eyes asking for a song. She glanced back to Archi and giggles with a warm smile. "What about you Archi, do you sing? I enjoy singing every now and then, but I don't think Im very good." She looked to the ground and dug at it with a slight blush as she tried to keep Bach level on her head.
