Sorta . . . xxxx••• Pyre is always preoccupied with keeping her fire under control, forcing herself to remain calm at all times, even in the face of harm. Even if she loses the slightest control, she will beat herself up for it, often ashamed for days. She means no harm, and would never even think to harm a fly, so when she does hurt, not only does she become more guilty than if she loses control, she literally beats herself up until she feels the same amount of pain which she put someone else through.
Because of her constant fretting of losing control, she comes off as distant, most people not thinking she's playing with a full deck. She's not stupid though, just preoccupied. •••••• History ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The Beginning . . . xxxx••• Pyre was born in the jungles of deep Mexico, where the native tongue is Spanish. While still in her basket, a great fire swept through the tropical forest, killing all her family but her. Instead, her basket seemed to absorb the burning oxygen, glowing like the hot coals of a barbecue.
The day after the great tragedy, she came out of her basket prematurely, prompted by the Gods she believes. The second she stepped out, her lush mane and tail combusted, causing her to go off into the nearby tribe screaming. The local shaman heard her cries, and came out of his residence to see what was going on. When he saw her, he ran into the village, yelling, "El Diablo, El Diablo!" For the sight of the flames against the blackened brown body caused him to believe judgment day had come.
When the villagers came out to see what the old eccentric was yelling about, they gasped, never seeing such a sight before. What they saw was a young filly alight, neighing and kicking in what looked like fear. A young one walked out, curiosity harbored in large chocolate eyes. Without fear, he placed his hand softly on the filly's snout, and the filly calmed by the cool touch of the human's hand. The fire shrank, becoming like that of a small campfire.
When the shaman came back and found the filly, he saw her to not be a devil, but a blessed soul. He concluded that she was from the burnt forest, earning the gasps of the villagers. "How could she have survived?" they asked each other, causing a loud babble. The shaman hushed them all before telling his grand tale. He told of many moons ago, when he had an oracle. The oracle proclaimed that a great destruction was to happen, and out of it would come one. This one was sacred, protected by the Gods themselves. And so, the shaman proclaimed her to be the prophesied one.
She was lavished with great gifts of food, kept in pristine condition, and treated like royalty. Little did she know why, on that day that they took her to the high platform that touched the clouds. They had laid upon her the finest gold’s and silvers they had, careful to not allow her flames melt the ornaments. When they had reached the top, the shaman was there, dressed lavishly as her. She saw him kneel, praying to the Gods that the other horses had told her about. As he rose, he drew from his robes a metal object. Was this another gift that was to be bestowed upon her? He approached, chanting in the tongue of humans, raising the object. She was beginning to think that this was not a gift!Por que? . . . xxxx••• And then the first blow came upon her shoulder, the shaman missing his mark due to the cataracts that had built up in his eyes. In pain, the mare whinnied, backing away from the old human. Other humans drew closer, all chanting the same sounds the old one had. What was going on here? Why did he hit her? What were they trying to do to her? She panicked.
And they were gone. Everything, gone. Her metal adornments, the people, and the object that had been used to harm her. All replaced by the spontaneously combusting air that inhabited her. Fear had overtaken her, and now instinct led her down the large steps that led to the cloud ground. Somehow she managed to make her way all the way down before collapsing, shaken and out of breath. She saw her fellow friends, and then black.
When she woke up it was night, and her friends were watching over her, relieved at her blinking golden eyes. She asked what had happened, and with sad tones, they told her what she had done. Shocked, she stared at them. Had she really? Did she really lose control, and slaughter all those grown adults? She had left the children parent less, and stolen away the lives of the children belonging to the sick whom could not attend the ceremony.
"Por que?" She asked herself, earning the sympathetic looks of her friends. One by one, they excused themselves, giving different reasons which she knew were lies. But she didn't care right now, all she cared about was the act she had done. That night, she swore herself and all the souls she had killed that she would never again lose control like that again. After making the vow, she picked herself up without another word, leaving the land; she knew that she could no longer bear to stay here. A new home? . . . xxxx••• Pyre eventually found her way to Kawani lands. Seeing as she couldn't.. no, wouldn't ever go back to her previous home, the mare decided to stick around. She began traveling about and exploring this newly dubbed home of hers, making friends and even gaining an adopted brother, Van. But she remained cautious all the while, not wanting to loose control of her flames once more.A fire like mine . . . xxxx••• On one of her little treks, Pyre stumbled upon Fenuk`. This stallion had something she hadn't seen ever before, not ever in her lifetime, something very unique: a mane and tail of flames, like her own. But he knew how to control his, unlike her, having been taught by his mother. Sorta . . . xxxx••• Soleil is a male that almost fits into the stereotypical knight's personality: well-mannered, usually easygoing, and more than willing to risk his life in order to protect those he cares for. He's always willing to throw a comment of adoration at a female or male he honestly finds beautiful/handsome/spiffy, especially so when they think lowly of themselves. Sol' also finds joy in being able to encourage others to work towards their goals, whatever they may be, and try to help them if he's able to, but won't even think of it if the person looks threatening in any way. He's also developed a love for adventure, built up from when he was a little colt with his two sisters, and spontaneously likes to head off and travel for a bit before returning home. C:
He also has a bit of an interest in humans/anything associated with them, and is willing to go near them, but will fight back if he thinks he's being threatened/tamed in any way by them. This boy's not afraid of admitting he's a little freaked out by two-leggers, he just... keeps that fact to himself most of the time.
Sol's almost the ideal knight. Along with all of that comes an extremely stubborn and quick to anger stallion, especially when it comes to the safety of others and any form of disrespect. If he were being beaten up while standing between an attacker and someone he cared for, he absolutely would not move until they were in a safer place, despite any attempts to get him to move. He disregards the fact that being hurt so much might cause himself to pass out or be severely wounded, even ignoring the fact that he risks being killed. He would just be glad that he could help them out, despite being beaten to a pulp himself.
